Lilliana & Sila
Location: Town Center

Lila noticed somebody walking towards her. She watched as he fell face-first onto the path, trying not to laugh a bit.

Sila started wagging her tail and jumped down from the bench. The curious dog sniffed him a bit and then started licking him.

Lila couldn't hold her laughter any longer and let out a few giggles.

"Are you ok?"

She asked as she sat up and walked towards him. She tapped Sila in the back to get her attention and then signaled her to sit and stay there.

From his spot on the floor he felt the dog licking at him. Oh well at least the dog seemed to like him. Now if only he could turn back the clock around twenty minutes and take a different approach to this. Oh well nothing to do but salvage what he could. Unfortunately, the giggles had him thinking that it would already be a hard act to follow.

He pushed himself up into a kneeling position before avoiding the pup long enough to stand. Thankfully the girl took mercy on his already bruised ego and seemed to stop the dog with a mere tap. Okay so that was impressive.

“I’m fine, thanks. So long as my face isn’t too messed up I won’t be too bad. Makeup can fix anything after all.”

He rubbed his nose a bit and was glad to find that he at least didn’t have a bloody nose. Looking closer the girl didn’t seem that far off his own age. Wait why didn’t he know her. Even if she moved recently why would she not be in school instead of in the town square quite obviously walking her dog.

“So, uh. You new? You gonna join us at the School soon? Haven’t seen ya but like there's not many students, heck I even have a kindergartener in my class.”

"Oh yeah, I just moved in yesterday. Spent all day unpacking so I asked at the school and they let me start tomorrow"

She was going to ask about the kindergartner but decided against it. She would meet the kid the next day anyway so why ask now? Pretty sure that would be gossiping.

Sila suddenly barked. Wasn't because she heard something, obviously. Rather it was to get her owner's attention. Lila signaled her to come and started petting her.

"Oh, my name's Lila by the way. And this here is Sila. What's your name?"

She had managed to forget to introduce herself, that was a first.

From outside the window, Lumina could hear the rain still falling despite the sun shining through the panes into the room. Even though it was a clinic room that she woke up in, it was a little peaceful. Maybe it was because it was just the two of them now, but she felt a little semblance of peace in the moment that she and Sam were sharing together. It definitely wasn’t under ideal circumstances, but it wasn’t really all that bad. After all, she had woken up and was alright, in some capacity. And Sam was here. That helped.

Lumina gave a small smile as she looked down at her lap. She knew that he had stayed with her. She still couldn’t exactly answer how she knew, but she did. And the thought of someone being there with her after she passed out gave her a sense of relief. Maybe that’s why she was feeling so at peace. She never really let on to anyone how her illness truly affected her, so just knowing she wasn’t alone through all of it happening honestly meant a lot to her. He was right on the money about not wanting to wake up alone. She wouldn’t have guessed she would have stayed unconscious for three days, so she definitely knew there could have been a possibility she would have woken up later that night. Knowing that Sam would have been there… “You’re really kind. I hope you know that.” Lumina smiled up at him, her blue eyes catching the light again, somewhat sparkling as she held his gaze.

She took this moment to really get a closer look at him. His hair was the color of chocolate, falling in soft curls around the tanned skin of his face. She was far paler than he was, even without her being so pallid from her illness. The streaks of sun reflected just how gorgeous of a tone it was. There weren’t too many people in the valley who looked like he did. But that was okay. She liked people who were unique. Maybe it was because she knew she was unique in her own way, so it was nice to find camaraderie in that regard, even if it was because of two completely separate things. “Maybe in a day or two he’ll at least let me go outside, even if I can’t go home yet. That would be nice. I hope it doesn’t rain then, though.” She stole her gaze away from Sam’s to look back out the window, seeing the streaks of rain dripping down the glass. Usually when she had extended stays at the clinic, Rhys usually let her go outside for some fresh air after a few days. Maybe Sam could come with her one of those times.

She hoped she wasn’t dragging down the conversation, though it was getting kind of hard to think with how tired she was getting. She relaxed back against the bed, rubbing her eyes against the brightness of the sun. She had definitely pushed herself a bit too hard to keep her spirits up with all the guests that had arrived and also so she wouldn’t worry Elliot. He was a perpetual worrier, and she knew of his bad habit of putting the blame for her condition unfairly on himself, so she donned her happy-go-lucky mask for most of the morning since she woke up. And goddess was it breaking down now. She was tired, her chest hurt from the compressions Rhys had left during CPR, her chest felt like it was only just recovered and definitely not back to normal. As she relaxed, Sam mentioned that he figured he should leave so she could get some rest. Hearing this, Lumina opened her eyes and turned to look at him once more, moving and speaking a bit quicker than she intended. “No, wait!” She blinked as she blurted the words out, a little surprised by them if she was being honest. “I-I mean…” she hesitated for a moment, her usual demeanor trying to force it’s way through. But she was too tired, and honesty seemed to be the way things were going as her body fought to stay awake. It was quickly becoming a losing battle. “You stayed with me last time, and I don’t want to go to sleep alone… can you stay with me?” Her body slumped as sleep began to take over, her eyes closing. “…please, Sam…?” Lumina was barely able to get the words out before she slipped unconscious, though this time it was only to sleep. Lumina looked peaceful as she fell asleep. Well, as peaceful as one in a hospital bed could, at least.

Huh so his instinct was right then? Still for her to be the one to ask, well she was well on her way to being independant too then. Actually, as he thought of Jasper still wanting to escort him to school, she was probably past him in that measure.

Before he knew it the dog was barking again. Dang well maybe it wasn’t that well trained of a mutt then. He watched as she went to go pet him? Her? Her, none of the male equipment. The girl introduced both herself and her dog and he found yet another source of embarrassment.

She didn’t know him? Geez, he was only the most handsome child star of his age. He threw himself on the bench she abandoned with a huff. After crossing his arms he pouted leaving a bit of a silence between her question and his answer.

“Geez. Mason. Mason Ainsworth. Actor in training, Little brother Of Jasper Ainsworth… None of it rings any bells?”

He didn’t wait for her answer as the curiosity and slight jealousy overcame his usual proper nature. He got back up and went to point in her direction.

“AND ANOTHER THING. Just why is an itty bitty like you not introducing herself with her parents little miss.”

samtitle-01-01-png.664424

samfullcolour-jpg.664416

He felt his gaze fall a bit sheepishly when she has commented on him being kind but willed himself to pick it back up again in an attempt to not be noticed "I'm glad you think so" was all he could think to comment on it. He couldn't explain much more than he felt it was the right thing to do in the given situation. He was sure she knew that. He was just lucky he was given the permission to, though he was sure if he hadn't been allowed to stay he would have been dropping in first thing that next morning for sure.

He just offered a gentle smile when she had talked about Rhys possibly letting her outside soon. He hoped so for her too. Despite him probably being the most reckless person on the planet when he was a kid, he had only ever had one long stay in the hospital and he hated not being able to leave. He couldn't imagine how frustrating this being a regular occurrence could possibly be. Sam still didnt know the full details of Lumina's illness, he just knew from Amelia that it was something she had for a long time, but Amelia couldn't tell him any more than that. That was up to the girl herself, and he probably wasnt at the level to know from her...he supposed that was fair. Still at that, he did wish that this wouldn't be regular and her health would pick up for her. She was too bright and bubbly to have to be cooped up so often, even now when not 100% okay, there was still a twinkle to her gaze.

Though right now it was probably for the best. Just like he had suspected, she was tiring out, heavy lids and the rubbing of eyes to back it up. Understandable for her current state. She had a tough weekend. He took it as his cue to leave her in peace, so after announcing his departure he had stood up from the chair and took a step only to be stopped by a sudden request from Lumina to wait.

He stopped dead in his tracks his head turning with his gaze meeting hers, blinking a few times as well. Maybe she wanted him to go grab Elliot or something? Though that wasn't the case. After a little bit of hesitation. She asked for him to stay with her. His brows raised as he seemed to freeze. Not expecting to be asked that so suddenly. But the quiet please and his name confirming she wasnt sleeping and mincing her words was more than enough to agree. She had meant him in particular. He had finished his work for the day anyway and she needed the rest, it was the least he could do to help and he supposed he was glad she was comfortable enough around him to ask that even "I-...Sure thing" he said softly as he went ahead and sat on the chair next to her again, deciding to stay for as long as she would need, though it looked as though she was already out for the count already.

He got the okay! Well it wasn’t necessarily without conditions and was crazy hard considering that it was Rhys they were talking about, but still all that mattered was that he was going to be able to give Lumina a proper birthday. With a little help that is, but he’s sure that both Maxwell and Xavier would be fine with helping out and he’d already known Emily and Alessia would. It was a toss-up to how many others would join in. The more the merrier, but it was short notice.

He saw the present from Alessia in the reception area still, he took a second to grab it. Knowing Alessia she’d forget she wasn’t carrying it any longer and take forever to find it if he didn’t deliver it soon. He had a much bigger grin on his face as he went back to Mina’s room. With a happy voice, he started to call when he opened the door.

    “Mina guess wh-”

Oh she was asleep again. Was she supposed to be asleep again so soon? Did comatose count as sleep? He wasn’t sure but she was awake not long ago, he felt like it should be fine after all Rhys never said anything about keeping her up. Maybe it was all clear. He turned and scanned the room only to find it far emptier than he left. In fact only Samuel was left in the room.

    “Oh you’re still here then.”

He said it with a tone that clearly implied mistrust. Still he didn’t quite have much of a right. Samuel had probably been far more helpful than he’d been the past few days but he still couldn’t get over his misgivings against him. After all Mina was basically his little sister, no one was going to be good enough for her. He eased up on his glare as he went to explain what he spoke with Rhys about.

“So I’m sure you’ve caught on that it’s Mina’s birthday. I talked with Rhys and got the okay to have a party for her, with conditions. If you want to help then I won’t say no but you better keep quiet about it and not ruin the surprise if not…. Gotta talk to Max, Xavier, Hmm maybe Ollie too.”

His already soft voice trailed off even quieter to the end doing his best to not disturb Lumina even with his half aware rambling.

Spring 11th | Year 1

Spring 11th

Wednesday | 6pm | 14°c / 57°F | Clear

... After a few days of spring showers the weather of the village has started to dry up a little more. Small buds on the trees have finally started to burst into fully fledged leaves, while not a festival day a group of Kore's residents are getting ready for celebration, a belated birthday of sorts for the village blacksmith. The whole get together has been set in the local bar and as such a small group have spent the afternoon getting it ready and just now other people are starting to arrive.

With most of the adults distracted by getting the small party at the ready most of the kids are instead taking advantage of the good weather in the meadows and are outside near the kids park in the square...

The bar definitely wasn't one of the places Amelia frequented since arriving here so she guessed this was a little new. Of course, she didn't just take a notion to come here on a whim. Sam was busy helping out with getting things ready for Lumina's party along with the others and he decided that he didn't trust her not to overwork and arrive late at the clinic so he dragged her along a little early. She did get to know Lumina well enough over her visits to the clinic and now extended stay while Amelia was working and she did 100% want to help the girl celebrate her birthday. But she did have a habit of overworking...then panicking that she didn't get to an important event in time... Then looking rude from it and oh goodness the thought was still making her feel fidgety despite already being here so making that impossible to happen.

To combat that fidgety feeling she had already offered her assistance in getting things ready. She was never one to stand idle so to avoid going near balloons because god they were horrible items that should never exist. The popping of a balloon is just awful and she did not want to embarrass herself if she were to accidentally pop one and get spooked by it. Of course if asked she would probably still touch the blasted things just to not look silly. She was instead was helping set up a few tables with other cute little birthday decorations, confetti, little cards... really anything else they would need done. At this point though, they were more or less done with setting up. After all it was almost time to go grab the birthday girl and bring her over. It was a little late to have a birthday party because of previous events but with a tough week hopefully she would get to enjoy herself outside of the same four walls, even just for an evening.

With evening now approaching sunset probably wasnt that far away but at least there was still plenty of sunlight left to make the most of the dry weather. Even with school ending early on Monday the rain made it difficult to stay out too long and Tuesday just rained non-stop. At least with no rain Cleo could pull out her sketchbook and find somewhere to sit. Ideally she would gave went off into the medows but her mother wanted her to stay in the village once it was past dinner time. Besides, the other kids were here in the park anyways.

The park was a standard kids playground. An area that was always kept well as it was pretty well used by the kids here and sometimes even the teens. Not wanting to hinder anyone else's enjoyment on the park equipment Cleo had nestled herself just under the climbing frame next to the slides,
occasionally looking up at the other kids there between colouring in what she gad sketched so far in her little lilac sketch book. She was quite content here really, having plenty of stuff around her to sketch. Though no doubt she'd default to drawing flowers, those were always her favourite.

Cora || Location: Bar ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Mood: ☀️‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎Interaction: Xander [ Salvagers Salvation Salvagers Salvation ]
Her first casual gig had gone off with a hitch (although there wasn't hardly an audience on a Monday night) and the cockroaches were cleared from the schoolhouse. Things were looking up.

Cora reclined on the piano bench in the corner of the bar, flipping through pages of music for that night and humming along with the tune quietly. It was a birthday party for someone who she hadn't really become acquainted with yet - though the name was familiar. Maybe someone she would know from when she was a child? That was so long ago she couldn't believe it. The few faces she did recognize were years older, and she hadn't really had a good conversation with anyone other than in passing. Being the teacher, she was generally well-acquainted with the children of the town, but her profession also took up a lot of time she would have to meet people her age. It was sort of embarrassing, really. She had been there nearly two whole weeks and had really only linked up with Thomas again, which was decidedly no fun. A joke. In any case, counting unfamiliar heads led to a buildup of performance anxiety and she found herself sinking behind the edge of the sheet music.

"How many people are there expected to be? When should I start?" Cora squeezed the papers a little tighter and cast her gaze to Xander behind the bar, though he was undoubtedly busy getting everything prepped.

Magic Loving Librarian
Thomas Pasquerella

com_thomas_Transparent.png

After Thomas got home two days ago he continued his business, as usual, cleaning the library, servicing the books, drafting copies for those that ordered them. It was pleasant to talk with Cora, being reminded of his school days that were now like a distant memory that had ended several years before. His cat had complained to him about being out for so long without refilling their water. Perhaps complained was an exaggeration, but there could be so much sass in a simple meow. Maybe it was Thomas's imagination, but since the festival, it felt like there was less traffic into his well of knowledge and words, but it didn't bother Thomas too heavily. It only meant less work for him. Thomas was never worried about less work.

However, the long periods of silence only broken by a cat's sneaky prowling and purring did wear away at Thomas, letting his mind soar free like an eagle, reality like land being left far below him as he parleyed and danced with dreams like clouds. But even in Thomas's own daydreams, he had to land and face reality. Even if magic is real, it would require incredible feats to achieve, and even greater to direct and control. Without it, he's just another person, that while knowledgable, doesn't have very many practical skills. He can learn book knowledge without a hitch, but the world was more than books. It was more than fantasies and dreams. Going through the motions was easy now, he had five years of practice, running the library was easy for him despite. Thomas knew every nook and cranny of the place. It brought him joy, but ultimately his fulfillment was dropping. When did he first notice it? Maybe not last winter, but the winter before. He still had some, but it was eroding. Thomas knows people in Kore, but he didn't really have friends as he used to, and Cora served as a reminder of that. The very thought brought him out of his daydreaming for the afternoon. The sun was getting low, and Thomas wondered how long he had been laying on his couch, blankly staring at the book in his arms. At what point did he stop reading and start daydreaming. Maybe it was a fools errand. Thumbing through the book Thomas found the last part he remembered then stuck a bookmark in.

Opening some curtains orange-gold light flooded the room, sticking to all it could and casting shadows where it couldn't reach. As he looked out his window Thomas saw Nuit jump onto the couch with the reflection on the window. "You are a lazy seat thief you know" Thomas grumbled at the cat only to be met with a smug "Merow!" Leaving it at that Thomas grabbed his book off the couch and put it on a shelf before heading to the bathroom to freshen up. He had holed himself up in his apartment all day, and well he wasn't a jubilant extrovert, he did crave social interaction on occasion. It was still early so Thomas thought to go out now before the bar should be busy, get a few drinks, talk a bit, then come back home to rest up for tomorrow. A quick shower, a comb of the hair, and brushing his teeth later Thomas threw on fresh clothes. He put down food for Nuit then dropped a mouse in Lix's glass tank before heading out. The walk to the bar was nice, but the village seemed to be far less quiet than usual. Thomas pondered why this was until he got to the bar. Thomas's head nearly spun with the amount of people there. So much for getting there before everyone else and having a quiet drink or two. Huffing and gaining a slight hunch in his back, Thomas walked in and made a b-line to the bar, claiming one of the stools ready to order a fruity mixed drink.

Emily had just gotten home from closing down the cafe lucky for her it was a rather slow day with everyone currently working on Lumina's party. Emily her self was only going too stay home long enguth too get change out of her uniform and run down there her self too help finish the work. When she heard a knock on her door, strange Hunter or Alessa aren't here she wondered who that could be perhaps one of the inn workers. Opening the door she sees a face she didn't think, she would ever see again. "Sunsun!" the waitress cry's out giving her former family maid the biggest hug in a while.

Summer had spent the past few days unpacking and catching up with her parents. It wasn't until today that she was finally able too get away form for a bit and go see the people she once knew again. But first there was someone she has too ensure is okay and now would be the best time see her little girl had made it Core somewhat safely. The gambler had no doubt in her mind that the Glazier family was still ruining the local inn but even then its been eight years since she last been in core so there is all ways the possibility that could of changed even if she didn't want too think it. All she can hope is that Emily was at least put somewhere safe while she was here. Summer would arrive at the inn just in time too see the young waitress walk inside. This brought a smile too her face, good shes going outside now where off too a good start. Sneaking inside the inn Summer would follow the little one up too where her room was and waited a few minutes before knocking on the door.

Summer giggles as her former little mistress pulled her into in her hug ant caused her too notice something off about her little girl. "Em" "yes?" "Didn't you once promise me you would never be taller then me." "Ummmmmmmmmm"
After a brief existential crises that every single person summer will ever meet will all ways be taller then her. Emily and Summer catch up on what the two have been doing the past year Emily telling Summer about all the people she had meet in Core with quite a few names Summer could already recolonize and Summer telling Emily about the good news about her finally being off here parents contract. "So father has been losing more money then usual lately." "It seems so naturally as you would expect if one keeps giving them self's a negative reputation for long people tend too not trust your company as much, not that we had a positive reputation too begin with." "oh then i guess that would explain the letter I received recently." "wait you got a letter?" Emily nods as she walks over too her desk and pulls out a fancy parchment of paper. "I'm too be wed too Mr Rose by the end of the year in order to save the hotel" "that millionaire scum bag." " the same" "sigh what are you going to do?" "I want too refuse of course and continue too live my life here I love core." " Then that's what will do don't worry ill stay by your side regardless what happens." "Sunsun" "yes sweetie" "please don't tell any one about my past." "Sigh don't worry I wont but when you'll be surprised and how excepting people will be here about it, but that is your choice too make. Now enough sadness I believe we have a party too get too." "Your coming too?" "Ill probably end up there regardless."
After getting ready the two set off too the bar walking just in time too help out with whatever.

The last two days were rather average for Alejandro. While he did spend them away from Kore, he was simply living the life he lived with his parents before he left. Having left to pay them a visit and make sure they were alright on their own. They aren't incapable of taking care of themselves or anything, but it was always nice to lend a hand to people. Especially those that raised you. Besides, without his sister there to check in on them, the job was left to him. Plus he was gone for a couple of years as it was. It was about time he had finally returned to see them in person. He spent most of his time helping his mother with her garden and his father with other things such as repairs and such on the house. Aside from that, the other time spent there consisted of him telling his parents what life was like away from home and how much he enjoyed it. When those two days passed, Alejandro said goodbye, promising to visit once again when he had the chance.

Finally home, Alejandro went straight to tending to his collection of swords. While it was something he always did, which resulted in them being in perfect condition, it is always nice to just check. As the day went on, Alejandro would also find himself practicing his swordsmanship. Being unable to practice for two days really felt odd. It was part of his morning routine at this point. After practicing until what seemed like 5pm, he went and took a shower. Getting cleaned up and dressed so he could head out. He was a little behind on what was going on around here. A little more time would go by before he decided he wanted to grab a drink, so he made his way to the bar.

Upon making it to the bar, he found that it was rather populated. That was a nice sight. Maybe they were celebrating or something. As he maneuvered through the small crowd, Alejandro went and got himself a drink. Taking a seat, he kept to himself. Usually, he'd be chatting with people but he didn't care for it at the moment... Or well he wasn't interested. At least today he wasn't. Tapping his finger on the table that his glass sat atop of, he quietly hummed a tune to himself. Somehow, he found himself with quite a bit on his mind. Maybe he was feeling homesick again. He did just visit his parents for the first time in about two years. Shaking his head a little bit, he sighed and took a sip of his drink before continuing to lightly tap the tip of his finger on the table.

The two days that had passed hadn't been too eventful for Asuka after she had lunch with Steve. The first day had mostly consisted of her organizing the Pet Store and everything look nice. Isaiah had helped too, though she had done the majority of the work. Her brother had insisted on helping, but she assured him that she could do it on her own. Except with the slightly heavier items, then Asuka would have to bring in Isaiah to help her carry those things inside. Other than that, everything had went fairly okay. The store looked relatively clean and well decorated, with each pet food being put in its proper place. The even had the proper area for the few pets they had. As of right now, they had about three dogs, two cats, and two birds. It wasn't too hard taking care of them since Asuka had experience with all three animals, though it was a little tiring at times. Especially when Isaiah wasn't there to help her. Today just happened to be one of those days that he wasn't there. Something about going to the bar for a drink. Asuka hadn't been paying too much attention to what he had said because she had been so focused on feeding the animals and pouring their food into their respective bowls was rather loud, it had been hard to hear him. She was sure she was going to find him there later anyways, since there was going to be a belated birthday party for Lumina there. She had heard about it from some of the other villagers she had met during the past two days and couldn't not go.

Asuka hadn't seen her childhood friend in quite the while and thought that it would be as good of a surprise as ever to greet her at her party. Unfortunately, she was going to come empty handed. She didn't have to time to go looking for a belated birthday gift and her artistic skills were close to nothing so she couldn't draw her something cute either. Ah, it was okay. She would make it up to her next time. The party hadn't even started just yet, as everything was being set up and organized. There was still a bit of time before she had to go get changed and head to the bar. Of course, it was going to be after she finished up closing shop here at the pet store. The store wasn't too big so there wasn't too much to clean, it was just the animals that had to be taken care of and put into the back room. Fortunately for her, they were all mostly well behaved aside from one dog he barked at practically anything and everything that moved passed his crate. He was definitely a handful, but she loved the little guy anyways even if he was a pain in the butt.

After moving them all to the back room, making sure they all had water, clean blankets, and beds, Asuka swept the entire store floor. Stuff had to be moved around so she could get into certain places, but that was okay. It definitely would have been easier if she had a vacuum cleaner, but sadly the only one she had was at home. There was no way she was going to lug that thing to and from her house just to use it for cleaning purposes. Asuka would just have to buy an extra one at some point, whenever that was. She'd talk to Isaiah about it later since he handled anything money related when it came to the business. When she was finished sweeping, she moved on to cleaning the windows and doors. They had finger prints all over them from people putting their hands all over the window and needed to be wiped off. It was sort of gross if she was being honest. Though luckily, it didn't take long. Asuka had finally finished cleaning the entire store and plopped herself down in the chair that was behind the counter, heaving a sigh. She was exhausted to say the least and needed a couple seconds to relax. She still had the party to go to, but it was okay if she arrived a little later right? It wouldn't be too bad, at least, she hoped it wouldn't be. Asuka would stay there for a little bit before going home, she still had to count the money that was in the drawer anyways. Opening up the cash register, she began counting.

SUMMARY OF OLIVER'S TRAINING

The first day of training under Max's supervision was a dream come true to the little Oliver. Despite Max's lack of teaching abilities were not comparable fairness to a grand-master that he hoped but Oliver's easy adaptability to learning has mixed the chemistry of a dynamic teachings of the student and the teacher. Safe to say, Oliver manage to catch the gist of baking a cupcake. In fact, the first batch he baked was okay for a beginner. Throughout the whole process Oliver's training. He did well but not enough to surpass Max's cupcakes. Oliver is still to bring the full taste of the recipe. Rating it would be 73% out of a 100%. The boy prefers a more self hands-on tutorial rather than a visual representation. With the guiding of Max; his master teacher. He has achieved a surprisingly high result. It was not long till Oliver caught suspicions to Max's hidden problem. He insisted on helping out, this time he served more as a assistant baker rather than an actual kitchen staff. Max alone had dealt with it himself while his apprentice is given minimal work. The boy left before dark on his own. Finishing his first training with Max.

An advancement has been made!
☆Oliver learned how to bake cupcakes!☆

Another fine morning spring has come to the village of Kore. Due to wet weather conditions of the past 2 days. The Taurez's hardly ever roamed around the village. Today was a different day. It was a warm dry day to spend outside. The small tree buds have bloomed and gone are the smell of wet soil in the morning. It was a wonderful morning indeed. The morning sun has risen into the horizon, the residents of the village has come to prepare for a special celebration for a special soul of the village. It was Lumina's birthday. The grown ups had a job to do, each contributing to the celebration but what of the children?

Here, in a small park playground inside the village. The children of the village has gathered to spend the morning together, one of them was Oliver. A boy whose reputation is well known for his internship towards tackling real jobs of Kore village's adults. Oliver was a rare breed of a hard working child. Technically, his works can almost equal those of an adults. Hence, it was common for him to be told to ease himself. It is a rare sight to see Oliver on a day off. Found at the park stretching his arms, side by side. The boy was a fan of exercise. Being Idle was not in his hard-working traits. Same outfit like in any other day. What's missing is his usual cooking equipment, not a strange sight as he doesn't have them all the time. What is strange is that Oliver was missing his chef's hat too. Everything else was there.

"Every good exercise deserves a good diet! Apple time!"

The boy excitedly stopped his stretching routine and came to a complete stop for a fruit snack break. Oliver drew out a clean shiny red apple out of his pocket and rose it to the air as an emphasis to his apple. Giving a good chunky bite out of the apple, it's juicy waters dripped down his chin as his teeth sunk into it's fruity flesh. Oliver seems to have enjoyed the apple so much that he seems to have forgotten about everyone else around him. That's how good the apple was. Throwing it into a nearby tree to rot as compost. Oliver continued to chew on the rest of the apple's remains in his mouth whilst his deep emerald green eyes stared into the other children across the playground. Oliver was just near the blue swing-set as his eyes scrolled through the playgrounds and the other kids. Among the cast of children; Oliver's eyes focused only one. A lone blonde girl sitting under the climbing frame by the slide. It was Cleo Frost. A girl he hardly talked to despite seeing her multiple times. Cleo had an artistic hobby as he noticed from afar. Oliver got curious on what she was working on and she looks very distant from the other kids.

His legs began to move on their own. Wiping the apple juice water off his mouth and chin, he approached her during Cleo's long pauses to check on the other kids, giving Oliver the surprising introduction of his appearance. With the last gulp of the apple, Oliver hath greeted the young maiden.

"Good Morning, Cleo! How are you today? That's a nice drawing pad you have there! What are you making?"

Oliver's ever jolly demeanor remained present as Cleo would look up again to see the short kid before her, giving her a gentle smile on his face and his hands behind his back. Potentially, he could be blocking Cleo's reference figure by just standing in front of her. The boy was usually chatty but he seems to have an attempt to take it slowly.

Xander Nakamura~Bartender~Location: Bar

Xander wasn't familiar with the bustling bar in front of him which is to say the people of Violet Meadows were not heavy drinkers. And as a guardian of two children, he supposed that he should be grateful for their lack of interest; but as a business owner, he's winced more than a few times at the fiscal year financials. It almost made him think of adopting a side hustle to scrounge up some extra cash. He could buy new clothes for the kids, get them new toys, more lavish lunches. There were so many luxuries the bartender would be able to afford for both himself and his wards if he hadn't moved from the city. Although, in the end, the move was a pleasant change of pace, and it allowed all of them to get away from the city's more unsavory parts. Xander still saw his regulars from both Violet Meadows and the city. One particular silver-haired character spent quite a sum of money every time he went on his bar-hopping excursions, so it wasn't like the bartender was strapped for cash. This party they were holding would certainly help in the long run. He was unsure as to why, but, for some reason or another, they graced his humble quaint bar as the location for Lumina's festivities. Not one to complain, Xander had only one worry that his parrot, Geralt, will get anxiety over such a loud, large crowd. No, it was more how his new pianist would perform with the change of pace from the lazy Monday.

Finishing up with his glass polishing, the gray-haired man tossed the rag over his shoulder while placing the pristine crystal champagne glass along with the others in a nice clean line. Idly taking orders and pouring drinks, his eye scanned the dimly lit room, admiring the swiftness in which they set everything up only to rest on his pianist. Despite only having one eye, he was still quite perceptive. The light whiteness of her knuckles as she squeezed her sheet music and the muttering to herself signaled some form of distress. Ah, they made eye contact. Flashing a tight-lipped smile, he gave a small wave as he made his way towards her with a glass of water in hand. He couldn't exactly make eye contact and not approach someone. It made him feel awkward. "I got you a glass of water just in case you get thirsty while playing" he opened up, placing the glass of water on a nearby coaster. He crossed his arms as he leaned back on the black piano. " You know I admire your confidence. I can't imagine having to play the piano in front of so many people. I wouldn't know when to start, stop, what music to play, how to take requests, but I suppose it would be easy for you being a teacher and all. It's just like teaching in front of a class. You just start talking about what you know, and the kids start to gather around to listen, the good kids anyways. You pause when a student asks a question and answer to the best of your ability. Being a pianist at a bar is just like that. You stick to what you know and just play. Students asking a question is like a customer requesting a song." He paused for a moment, noticing new people entering the bar. "Well, that's all I wanted to say. Good luck tonight, and you'll have a nice bottle of wine waiting for you."

Xander made his way back behind the bar, strolling his way towards Alejandro and Thomas. Handing Alejandro a glass, the bartender directed his attention at Thomas. "What would you like?"

The last few days seemed to fly by in an absolute blur. He barely remembered the 9th after he walked outside the clinic. Alessia and Emily showed up and dragged him to lunch and forced him to eat for the first time in a good long while. He had eaten a bit since he arrived back in Kore, but nothing really substantial. He just wasn’t all that hungry, at least that’s what he told himself. But his worry over his sister was causing him to not take care of himself at all. He was neglecting himself for the sake of his sister, but what good would that do him? It became a little more obvious when he was forced to sit down and a plate of food was set before him before he could protest, and at least two people near him who wouldn’t let him get away with not eating. Once he actually did start to down the food, he couldn’t help but inhale it from how much his body just needed to eat. He made a mental note as he cleared his plate to thank Alessia later for forcing to him to come with her and Emily to the cafe.

Elliot didn’t actually find out about the party until the next morning. Alessia (and by proxy, Emily) had sent him home to rest for the rest of the day. Not just back to the clinic, but to the spare bedroom in Lumina’s combination house and forge. He hadn’t slept anywhere but in the clinic room since he arrived, and if he was being honest with himself, he was exhausted. The clinic chairs weren’t meant for sleeping in, especially not for multiple nights in a row. He wouldn’t let Rhys send him home. He had to be there for Lumina in case she woke up. He wouldn’t let her be alone. He remembered having to wake Sam up the morning he got there. From how he was holding her hand, he guessed that Sam was the one who brought her to the clinic after it happened. Another person on his list he’d have to give thanks to. Elliot didn’t fully realize how exhausted he was until he nearly fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow. It was a dreamless and honestly peaceful sleep, because he actually got some decent rest. No worries about his sister not waking up, just rest. He did voice wanting to check on her again after lunch, but Alessia wasn’t having it, promising that she would inform him of how she was doing the following morning. He was too tired to really fight back against this, and went home as instructed. He woke up at a decent time in the late morning, taking a moment to just stare up at the ceiling as his body adjusted to actually being well-rested for the first time in the last few days. It wasn’t long after that that Alessia kept her promise and showed up at the door to give him a progress report on how Lumina was doing. This was also when she informed him that there was going to be a party for Lumina the next day in celebration of her birthday, planned by Hunter.

The artist’s stomach twisted up a bit hearing his name, but he didn’t let it show as Alessia bid herself goodbye for the day. Seeing him yesterday was what sent him outside the clinic in the first place the day before, and just hearing his name made all his old feelings that were forgotten with the previous night’s sleep were dredged up and became to swim maddeningly around in his head. Now all he wanted to do was go back to sleep. Gritting his teeth, Elliot went to go get ready for the day, and maybe finally unpack all of his things into the spare bedroom. Since he was going to be living here in the village for the foreseeable future, he knew he’d have to get over himself. There was no point in staying stuck on old feelings. Not after this long anyways. He had no chance. Not that he ever did, as far as he knew. Elliot told himself he’d just have to bury those feelings once and for all and move on… though it was just a lie he was using to convince himself everything would be fine. His world felt like it was crumbling and on fire, but it would be fine. It had to be fine. He had to be fine for Lumina. His feelings could wait. They had to.

tumblr_nnn8kidQQv1tmrdf4o2_500.gif

Elliot did spend the rest of the day unpacking, and thankfully he didn’t take up too much room. The house was pretty spacious. Just how Lumina liked it. He could tell she built it herself. There was something about its construction that had her name all over it. It was similar to their father’s. It made sense, considering that she learned everything from him after all. Elliot had no talent for building like she did. His talents were more fine tuned in the arts. Thankfully his father understood, and they actually got along better because of it. Lumina always loved spacious rooms, and the house and forge definitely reflected that. Well, he wasn’t about to complain. There was enough room in his new room plus the empty unused room right next door for all of his art supplies, and he’d have to talk about maybe turning the empty room into an art studio. He smiled to himself thinking that maybe she had left these two rooms just for him in case he ever decided to move home. That would be just like her to do that. While he was at it, Elliot took the time to clean up the house and forge a bit. She always loved a tidy workspace after all, and she hadn’t been home to take care of it in over half a week. He wasn’t sure how long it would be until she could come home, but he figured she’d appreciate a nice space to come home to. He looked forward to seeing the forge lit and being worked in sooner rather than later.

He made sure to visit Lumina again before the day was done, just to check in on her for himself. She was doing a little better, more awake and alert today than yesterday. Considering she had only just woken up yesterday, it made sense. He didn’t stay long, knowing that they’d be doing a lot of tests that day since she was in a better state to do them. He hated how many tests she always seemed to go through and how exhausted they made her, but she always wore a smile through her stays to let him know she’d be alright. Even as he visited, she wore a bright smile. Some of the color was even starting to return to her cheeks. Relief over her slowly improving condition helped bring him to sleep for another night, and soon enough it was the day of the party.

There wasn’t much to do around the house since he had taken care of it all yesterday, so he figured he could spend the morning making something for her birthday to give to her at the party. He had told Alessia he’d be at the bar to help set up, so he still had some time before he needed to be there. So spend the morning making his sister a piece of art for her birthday he did. Even though he knew his sister wasn’t one to really want to celebrate her birthday with a party or presents or anything, he knew she deserved it, especially after everything she went through at the festival. He had decided on a painting of a small white flower, a snowdrop, as her gift. It was a little nod to their father’s nickname for her, also referencing one of her favorite flowers. She didn’t have much art around her house, so maybe this would be a good start to what was probably going to be a growing gallery if he was going to be living here from now on.

It was around 5:30 pm by the time he got out of his own head about the pieces imperfections and bothered to look at the time. Elliot’s eyes widened to see that it was suddenly late afternoon, and scrambled to shower before scrounging something small out of the cupboard and making his way over to the bar to help set up for the party. He and his sister both had a bad habit of losing track of time and getting way too absorbed into their work. This seemed to be no exception. He left the painting behind on purpose, partly because it still had to dry but also because he didn’t want to risk ruining the painting by bringing it to the bar when he knew he’d be bringing all the gifts people would be giving her back home. No point in it. By the time he got there, a good chunk of the decorating had already been taken care of, and he was told by someone he didn’t really know that he could take it easy and just enjoy the party with his sister when she was brought here. He stood in stunned silence for a few moments before shrugging it off and making his way over to the bar. He gave a bit of a side glance at the rest of the patrons at the bar, noticing that it was starting to get busier in here by the minute. It was around 6pm now, if he had looked at the clock right when he left the house. Realizing he didn’t know anyone that was currently ordering drinks, Elliot brought his gaze back in front of him and to a drink menu. Thinking of Lumina being out of the clinic but not well enough to be able to come home was giving him a bit of anxiety, and figured a drink would help to calm him down a bit. He didn’t wan’t to be a buzzkill of an overprotective brother at his sister’s birthday party after all. Maybe something strong on the rocks would do the trick.

Lilliana & Sila
Location: Town Square (before timeskip)

"Like you're not doing the exact same thing?" Lila said in a slightly annoyed tone. "And if you must know, I don't even live with my parents. I have my own farm." she said and pointed in her farm's general direction. She wanted to continue walking with her dog, but then she looked at Sila who was perfectly content with staying there and decided against it. How weird of the border collie to be tired already?

-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

Lilliana & Sila
Location: Walking to the kids park

After a quick nap of about half an hour Lila got woken up by her over-excited (and bored) dog licking her in the face. Was it already time for a walk? She pet her companion and opened the door. Sila ran outside and waited next to the farm gates for her sleepy owner to catch up to her, slowly as ever.

Atleast the weather was nice. Maybe they could go to the park instead of walking around close to the farm? That sounded nice. Lila opened the gates and signaled 'walk' to the dog. The two started walking towards the town square with the park as the destination. Lila noticed the lack of people walking around, but then she heard noise coming from the bar and thought that they were all gathered there. Why go there on such a nice day? Well, Lila wasn't spending the day much better, sleeping until the dog woke her up.

Sila hadn't been very productive that day either. While her owner was sleeping she had just been wandering around the farm scaring away birds and digging holes in places her owner wouldn't immediately notice. The dog had an excuse though, being a dog and all.

Oliver’s first day of training went without a hitch. Considering it was both a learning experience for the student and teacher, it was right to go with a fairly simple workload. With Oliver being quick to absorb instructions along with a boundless source of enthusiasm it was easier on Max who tried to find some balance between showing and telling in his teaching. There were still some minor tweaks to be made but to Max’s own judgement Oliver did very well. He really shouldn’t have been surprised by the youth exceeding his expectations but he was.

In a quiet moment Max found himself looking back to his own first apprenticeship. A rare occasion, for even as much as he cherished and often felt a sense of longing for those days he was more often too focused on the present to chase old memories. But this time there was a purpose, he went back to the little bakery where he found his start. To the peeling painted sign above the window, the dated countertops, and of course that stupid wobbly cart that just begged to be put out of its misery. Mostly he thought about the old man running the place, the first teacher of a small handful he would accumulate in his travels. He was one that preferred to wait and see what life had planned. Letting others make their own mistakes before correcting them. Not exactly Max’s style but maybe he could find some inspiration for teaching Oliver.

Or perhaps he was just overthinking something simple again. After all it was readily apparent that Oliver was not a stranger to the kitchen. At his young age he is already far more capable than Max was when he started that first job. There were certainly more than a few horror stories floating around from those days to back this up. Such tales will probably neverfade away especially since his old teacher has made a mission of never allowing Max to forget the blender incident and the infamous egg brownie disaster among other culinary crimes. Somehow that old baker kept his patience through it all, but it will never be said that it came easy. Needless to say Max got very familiar with how to use a sponge and mop. Maybe one day Oliver will have his own kitchen story he would like to forget, everybody needs one after all. Hopefully it’s an easier cleanup than the blender geyser. But that would be for another time, because as sunset neared it was time for Oliver to head home and the first day of training was over.

The following day likewise brought its own little adventure. Though it started as a calm day not unlike most others that was set to change when the dynamic duo of Emily and Hunter dropped by for a visit. It seemed like Hunter was planning a surprise party for a certain village blacksmith and the pair had to ask for a small favor. And what else would you ask a baker besides his own craft? Of course a cake would be no problem at all... although there might just be a better way. That being Emily and Hunter making the cake themselves, with some supervision of course. Why? Because it seemed like fun and as it turned out, talking the pair into the plan was fairly simple. A casual mention of how it would mean more to Lumina here, a bit of reassurance there and they were hooked before Max had to withhold sweets. Would Max go that far? No, but maybe the day he uses that card it will work.

As for the cake itself, Hunter had enough history with Lumina to already know what to make. With him leading the way along with Emily giving a helping hand there was no real need for the baker. Max’s kitchen was useful at least and he was more than happy to offer it. There was a charm in watching the devoted innkeeper and the shy waitress who rarely came out of her shell. It was hard not to think of them as a pair of siblings in that moment. The extroverted Hunter obviously playing the elder brother to Emily’s timid younger sister. As enjoyable as their antics were, Max thought it best to make himself scarce and let them have their moment. So while the two handled the important work Max was free to twiddle his thumbs and occasionally pretend to actually work.

Time continued in the idyllic village as the evening of the party approached. As is the case for most events Max was at hand for the preparations yet found himself spending equal amounts of time wondering about a great mystery. Where has Xandy been keeping that piano? Better yet. How did he get the piano inside? Max could ask the man in question but knew he wouldn’t get an answer. That would just be too boring for the playful bartender. The bar was getting busy anyways, it looks like today would bring good business for Xandy and good business for Xandy could mean shenanigans later on. Might be fun. For now Max took a moment to tear his focus from the piano mystery and began a final lookover to make sure nothing was missing.

Cleo had turned her attention back down to her sketch book, quietly continuing to colour her sketch as Oliver had approached where she was sitting, only noticing him arriving after he had greeted her. The colouring pencil she had been moving across the page was lifted off and the book shut by her as she swiftly looked up to see the source of the voice. Oliver. She rarely saw him at the park unlike the other kids though from what she knew that was apparently from being busy with helping out grown ups all the time. She guessed it was a little out of the ordinary to see him here but, perhaps it was because most of the grown-ups were at the bar this evening and seemed to have preparations under control?

Her gaze drifted away from the friendly face greeting her and towards her sketchbook for a brief moment when he commented on it being nice, her eyes blinked a few times as her hold on the book tightened slightly "Oh! Thank you." she answered as she turned it over to show both sides of the decorative floral cover. Evelyn gave it to me for my birthday." she commented with a small smile. Though his second question made her pause. Was she shy about her drawings? She guessed she wasn't entirely sure on that, it was more that she'd always hesitate when asked on the spot like that?

"I was just colouring-" She began to answer as she peeked past him to gesture the bird she had been sketching but it seemed to have gotten spooked off. Her eyes narrowed a little "...well. it was a bird. but I guess it got away" she added with a small shrug of her shoulder. Chances were the movement had most likely disturbed it but she didn't seem to mind to much. She always was a calm individual and she just reminded herself that it would probably come back later...and she guessed she kind of remembered what it looked like? maybe. A little guess work wouldn't hurt. After the realising that her reference was gone she instead reopened her sketchbook to show her sketch of the creature that was half coloured. "As for me. I'm okay." she added when she realised she left one of his questions unanswered. Staring at him for a brief moment, she tilted her head slightly "I don't normally see you in the park." she commented outright.

She’d managed to get Elliot to eat. Success two of the week. Getting Hunter to actually human again was naturally the first but even she was surprised he got Rhys to cave and let Lumina out for a bit. She wasn’t going to let that slip when she got the text though, Elliot deserved a night of peaceful rest. Luckily Emily’s eternally cheery presence let them ignore life for a bit while they all enjoyed themselves for lunch.

Going back to Bon Marche, well she’d made sure to do all her work beforehand but she couldn’t help but think she’d forgotten something completely. Ah, the gift. She must have left it in the waiting room. She looked back to see another text from Hunter.

She typed up a quick thank you before descending into her shared cave of a home. Her boys did well with the store as always. She could have gone and practiced her sword skills, but it was a bit late by the time she got back. She grabbed her pajamas and changed in her room. Tonight she would relax. It was back to the grind tomorrow. After all, while they certainly didn’t need her for most days, she'd still preferred to do as much work as she could on delivery days. Especially since she’d now need to express buy tonight. Good thing the route was on it’s way from Jupiter City to Alztrok. They’d have to pass Kore in between. She sunk into her pillows as she sent out a quick SOS to Arianna.

    ------

The day of the party was hectic. The colors were all wrong from what was sent on Tuesday, which meant that she had to make do with a different plan. Luckily the color wasn’t too far off from the rainbow theme she wanted. She still had plenty of gingham check festive things. All the balloons were orange because she liked orange foods so she should like orange.

While Lumina may always have been closer to Hunter, she was still nearly her sister-in-law in both ways as well as a cherished childhood friend. That alone made it worth her best effort. She’d approach it like any other job. Max was of course their first choice for helping out, not only for his skill with sweets but also because anyone could read that he’d love to help.

Which was good because as much as she was claiming she was on her game the little things going wrong were already getting under her skin. She had rearranged the party tablecloth three times and she was fairly sure Xander would be ready to tell her to stop sometime soon. Luckily she managed to be pulled away before she stressed out both Mirko and Max.

Right on time as people started to arrive at the bar. Well the least she could do for taking up Xander’s space for so long is make herself available as help. She thanked Mirko for his help since he was never close with Lumina but became an interior decorator as a favor to her and Hunter.

“Sorry about all the fuss Xander. Anything I can help with for the bar or such?”

Isaiah hadn't heard the end of it the day that he had abandoned Asuka. That day he had wandered off to the general store when she had been rambling on about wanting to see if everyone that they use to know still lived here. He had been quiet enough and had been walking behind her that she hadn't noticed until she turned around to not find him behind her anymore. Besides, they needed groceries for the house as it was. They didn't exactly have much inside their home aside from their belongs and a couple dried goods like cereal since it was easy to take. This was definitely the best opportunity to buy what they needed while she ventured around Kore as they needed the essentials to make food. So Isaiah walked his way towards the general store, humming as he did so. He wasn't at the store for too long, maybe an hour or two before he was on his way home with bags on each arm. There was a good amount of fruit and vegetables in there, as well as a couple other things. Once he finally got home, Isaiah had started to unpack all of the groceries that he had gotten. It took a little bit of time, but he finally finished after awhile. With not much else to do, he decided to finish unpacking the rest of the boxes they had stowed away before Asuka came home. There was still a few boxes that were labeled for the kitchen and bathroom that needed to be put away. There was, of course, the few boxes that resided in Asuka's room, but he'd leave those for her to finish. At the very least there wouldn't be a bunch of boxes lying around the living room area anymore.

With everything now being put away, Isaiah decided he would just reside in his room and read some sports magazine while he waited for his sister to come back. It was around 5pm when Asuka finally came back, bursting into his room with a frown on her face. He looked up from the magazine he was reading and stared at her with a blank expression on his face. He couldn't say that he wasn't surprised that this was happening, considering that she hated it whenever he ditched her when they were suppose to be doing something together. She wasn't fond of being ditched, that much he knew. She was visibly upset as she whined at him for leaving her and making it look like she was talking to herself when he could have just told her that he was leaving. Of course he apologized, though Asuka said it wasn't good enough. He'd have to make it up to her buy buying her tons of sweets and candy if he wanted to be forgiven. It was always the requirement whenever he did something that made her upset or angry, but it was easy to do. He'd make time to go to the bakery tomorrow to get her a few cupcakes so she'd be appeased and 'forgive' him. Isaiah knew he was already forgiven, she just wanted to get more sweets out of him. He promised to buy her sweets in the morning, but for now she should probably finish unpacking the rest of her boxes since everything else was done. She begrudgingly responded with fine and left his room to finish unpacking.

Not much happened the next day, as they had finished doing most of the things that they needed to do regarding their home yesterday. They just had to set up the pet shop now. Asuka assured him that she could do it on her own, though he didn't believe her for a second. There was a lot of stuff that needed to be put in place and the few animals that they had that needed to be taken care of. On there way to the pet shop, they did run into a few of the other villagers that lived there and offered a friendly hello. Turns out there was going to be a late birthday party for a woman named Lumina the next day at the Bar. That name sounded vaguely familiar to him, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Though apparently Asuka remembered who it was. It was someone that she use to play with when they were younger, someone that was more often than not, in the clinic. He had been the one to introduce his sister to her from what she remembered. He vaguely remembered some of it though it wasn't until she mentioned that Lumina had a brother that was also there that it finally clicked to him. Now Isaiah remembered going to the clinic every now and then during their time in Kore when they were younger. He remembers a boy that was a little older than he was whenever he visited that place that was usually by Lumina's side. He was enough to peak Isaiah's interest at the very best. He definitely remembered that he was cute when he was younger. Though he did wonder if he still lived in Kore still. He was curious to see what he looked like now compared to back then.

Tomorrow would be the first day that they officially open so they'd have to get through work first before going to the party. Plus the the store was a little dirty and needed to be cleaned before they opened tomorrow. The windows were clouded over and grimy, so those needed some scrubbing. Isaiah was going to start on the cleaning while Asuka tended to the pets and their needs in the back room. He started with cleaning the outside of the building before working his way in and sweeping the inside of the store. There was a lot of scrubbing at the windows that made his arms a little sore at the end of the day, but at least people could see out of them now. The inside was a little easier to clean as he just had to sweep up all the dust that there was around the area, plus dust any of the high place that Asuka couldn't reach. Isaiah didn't want her standing on a chair just to reach those places since it was dangerous and there was no way he was going to let her do that. He was tall enough to reach any of the high places to grab things or dust that she couldn't. Luckily they were done with cleaning after a few hours and ended up going home

The next day was finally their opening day for the shop. Isaiah had the early morning shift while Asuka stayed later on in the evening to close up the store. He had left their house a little early in the morning with his apron in hand before the store was suppose to be open to set everything up and set out the money in the drawer. The morning had been rather slow, though there was a few people that came to look at the animals that they had. None of which had gotten adopted during his shift, though that was okay. Someone would come along eventually and get one of these little guys. There was one or two people that also bought some pet food from them, though that was about it. Other than that, not much had happened that morning. Asuka came in during the evening and they had been working together up until 4 when Isaiah left to go home. There was only an hour left to be open and he was sure she could finish everything before then to leave early to head to the bar for the party. Ruffling her hair, he bid his sister farewell and started on the journey home.

Isaiah had a couple hours to kill before he headed over to the bar, so he figured try to put something together for the birthday girl. It was super last minute and he knew that, but he couldn't show up empty handed. There wasn't anything in the house that he could give her and he wasn't even sure what it was she liked. And there definitely wasn't enough time to make her anything either because when he looked at the clock, he had about half an hour left to try to come up with something. Though no matter how hard he looked, there wasn't anything he could possibly give her. He felt bad that he was going to come empty handed, but there wasn't much for him to do. She probably also wasn't expecting him to even bring anything at all (if she knew he was here or about this party that is).

When it was closer to 6, Isaiah was walking his way into the bar. The place looked a little busy though it was to be expected considering there was a party going on here and luckily there was a few places to sit up at the bar. It was a little cramped as he made his way through the other patrons, but finally made it to a seat. He was probably sitting next to a complete stranger but that wasn't new considering this was a bar after all. At first glance, he was pretty sure there wasn't anyone that he knew in here. Isaiah had not gotten the time to really introduce himself to most of the other villagers that there were when they had arrived. They had just been rather busy unpacking all of their belongings and taking care of the pet shop to really say hi to anyone. He did meet a few when he was working this morning, but not a lot. Suppose this was probably going to be a better opportunity than any since a good amount of people were going to be here. His eyes swept across the crowed place, eyes widening a little in surprise before grinning at the familiar individual that was just a couple seats down from him. The guy looked strikingly like Elliot, the guy he use to talk to back when he use to live here, just a whole lot older. There was the possibility that this could be the wrong guy, but Isaiah was willing to take his chances.

Sliding out of his seat, Isaiah walked over to the guy and (lucky enough for him) took a seat next to him. He turned his body towards him with a grin on his face. "Hey Bunny~" It was a nickname that he use to call Elliot when he was younger because he was about as cute as one of those fluffy little creatures. That and because he did, in his own way, appear like a bunny to Isaiah. It was a for sure way to know if he was talking to the right guy or not since he was the only one to know about it. Even still, if this wasn't the correct guy, he could easily play it off. "Long time no see. Didn't think you'd still be here when I came back for you." Isaiah half joked, draping an arm over his shoulder.

Oliver Taurez
The Errand Boy

Oliver watched Cleo slowly answer each question one by one as he was being interviewed by him. He is very patient with Cleo as he allowed her to express herself as much as she wants before he opens up his turn to converse again. His curious eyes kept getting dragged back to Cleo's skecthbook. Trying to get a glimpse of what Cleo's art pieces so far, the motions of his own head even moved left and right trying to get a peek at the book. So far he accomplished none.

"Ms. Evelyn gave it to you? That's awesome! She really loves you for that."

The boy cheered on. Beginning to sway side to side like a scare crow in the wind, sign of just Oliver enjoying a moment of peace as he converses with other fellow children of his age. Cleo had a long pause at one of his questions which he paid no mind to at the moment, as far as Oliver knows, Cleo is very thoughtful of her words. A quiet type to be specific. Not an issue to the boy since she capable answering him honestly.

"You were coloring a- Oh!"

Oliver was adding to Cleo's response till he realized she was looking past him, copying a reference image. This quickly urged him to move out of her way and step aside which is unfortunately too late. The bird already flew with it's wings to the sky. A rushed feeling of shame come upon him. Oliver's hand automatically came over to back of his head, tilting it downwards in the process.

"Oh... I'm sorry. I didn't know i was in the way. I'm sorry."

Oliver's smile faded and switched into a frown in a matter of seconds. He looked very saddened about the bird just flying away from knowing it won'tbe coming back again. Now he felt awkward about asking Cleo about the rest of her works when he just let Cleo's only refference fly away from her sight. There was a short silence between the two until Cleo counter fired a question back to Oliver.

"Hm? Oh, sometimes i go here, Alone. Usually around sunsets to get some fresh air. Today's a-my day off because nobody seems to asking for help today, i just finished working with Señor Max the other day."

Whilst looking over the sky, watching the bird spreads it's wings to fly. Oliver watched it disappear from his sight. His emerald green eyes looked back to Cleo's eyes like shining pair of jewelry, followed with an awkward smile.

"Luckily today, Grandmama has food at house because i work. She's enjoying home right now, hehe..."

The boy chuckled nervously, trying to get back to the gleeful athmosphere that he had before.
