Three Thousand Club
Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn was laying on her bed, it was almost midnight. She was playing her favorite game. It was on nights like these she enjoyed the most. It was just her and her game. Her blue eyes watched as the little pixelated wolf ran across the screen and killed a lot of things in its path. And then it hit her, what would it be like to be in the game itself?
She laughed her thoughts away.
It was only a thought... right? Right?
Wrong.
But, of course, she wouldn't know that now.
Ping!
"What?" she squinted in disbelief as a text from and unknown number appeared at the top of her phone. She tapped on it with her thumb and rotated it the correct way. Who could be texting me at this hour? she thought to herself. Kaitlyn didn't really have any friends anyway, mainly online since she had majorly bad anxiety and somewhat OCD.
The text read: "Hello, ASFinnie."
"How do they know my gamer tag?" she choked out silently with wide eyes. How do you even respond to this?
Her finger hovered over the H button on her screen as she leaned up. I must be dreaming. That's all. She tried to think of other things.
Shakily, with anxiety building up in her stomach as she felt her intrusive thoughts fill her. "Who is this?" she typed up and sent. She placed her phone down as she awaited a reply. Which didn't take long.
"Ever wanted to be in your game?" the text read.
How do they know?
"I've thought about it, but it's stupid," she sent it and kept the phone up while examining the screen as the bubbles on the left side of the screen moved slowly.
"I can make it happen:]"
"How?" she typed quickly.
"We can meet **********"
I know that address. Oh, my God. No way. Honestly, Kaitlyn was always looking for an alternative to reality. She paused as she saw the bubbles again.
"Meet now."
She breathed sharply but she felt obliged to go. So, what did she do? She grabbed her keys and threw on her hoodie as she quietly went out the door.
