i have a non-character related question for you guys— are there any other "fandoms" or anything y'all are kind of into? any sort of media! books, movies, shows, games, even music?

I wouldn't say I'm in any fandoms really, there are just things that I like. Answering this question in depth bc I'm currently having an anxiety attack and appreciate the distraction

Right now I'm watching Vampire Diaries for the first time, I'm on season 2 so far and I love it and I love talking about it! I never really watched all the teen supernatural shows when I was a teen so I'm excited to watch Teen Wolf (especially for Auguste) and The Originals, The Walking Dead and Supernatural. It's going to take me years to get through them all because I rarely watch TV lol. Last year I watched the sopranos and I loooved it but didn't finish it bc my ADHD never lets me finish anything lol.

I love theatre and musicals but there are loads of popular musicals I'm not into and plays I haven't seen yet. But I love talking about theatre

I don't really read much, I wish I could but I have pretty bad information processing difficulties which makes it hard to follow plots and understand what I'm reading. It's something I really don't like about myself. You'd wonder why I like rping so much, but I just love the fantasy of it, living vicariously, and the creative outlet!

I love movies, I enjoy franchises but I wouldn't class myself as being in any fandoms. I love (and hate!) the MCU, I enjoy X-Men and Star Wars and LOTR but again I struggle to follow them bc my brain + plots = pancake batter. But I like them anyway ) I love psychological thrillers and horror films, but I'm picky about them. I love Pixar and Studio Ghibli and dramas, especially domestic ones, and I like to watch as many of the Oscar nominated films as I can leading up to the ceremony. I'll watch anything with Sebastian Stan in, the loml, everything from his 4% RT film to his 94% RT film.

I'm not really in music fandoms bc pop is kind of a background thing for me, I'm past my emo phase and my punk phase, and I kind of just live in the 20th century now, I love music from every decade of that century, but especially the 70s and the golden age of jazz. Most of my favourite artists are dead or retired so I don't go to concerts much lmao.

Again I'm not much of a gamer but I love (and hate) the Sims, I played Animal Crossing Wild World religiously for about 10 years and then New Leaf for a few more, and I think Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is a 10/10 perfect game.

I appreciate that I am very boring hahaha and I'm going to regret this embarrassing reply but thank u for giving me a distraction bc it has helped me get my mind off some stuff

oooh! i've never watched tvd but i've heard really good things about it!! however, i HAVE seen teen wolf and most of supernatural. 1. teen wolf-- i loved daniel sharman's character! i think you'll like it. 2. supernatural can be kind of a hard start, szn 1 is kind of a scooby-doo format with a monster-of-the-week sort of vibe, but it really hits its stride after that. i will admit, i don't think i finished season 14 and ik there's a 15th season, so i can't speak to the true ending of the show, but seasons 2-10ish are very enjoyable! if you're looking for a short, supernatural show i really loved my babysitter's a vampire. it's a disney channel show, so it's a pretty easy watch, and short(a little unsatisfyingly so) since there's only about 26 episodes total. i lowkey base my picture of piper's seer abilities off of the mc in my babysitter's a vampire ^-^ i'm also watching buffy the vampire slayer rn, which i am currently enjoying! ((also dw, i am a chronic unfinisher. i have literally watched shows or read books to the last episode/chapter and never finished them, i will never judge for not finishing them)).

do you have a favorite musical or stage play? ik it's a touch boring, but mine is our town. i don't think that the meaning of a piece of media has stuck with me as significantly as that play has. and phantom as a musical! but that's bc i'm in love with the aesthetics of phantom, i think it will always have a chokehold on me.

i have the same issues with following certain plots ;-; i LOVED the hobbit as a book, but i've had a hard time with both hobbit and lotr as movies and the lotr books. i have the same issue with star wars, personally. but i also think that i was just so mad about qui-gon that i was too upset to properly watch the other movies. used to be a big mcu fan, but i've struggled in the recent years. i'm actually really excited about the new dc movies as part of their relaunch, though! i loved the batman, so i'm really intrigued by superman (2025). but tbf, i think i have a stronger attachment to the dc comics than i do marvel— i've always loved spiderman, but the batboys are always going to be my favs and i really enjoy how well thought out dc's villains are((i also strongly believe that green lantern is extremely underrated and you cannot tell me otherwise)).

i'm also a sort of horror fan! i like the idea of being scared, but i have a hard time finding movies that are truly spooky to me without being just a bunch of gore for shock value. i'm really bad at keeping up with movies(usually i watch shows as background noise while i do my schoolwork, and i am rarely motivated to commit to a movie even though i can commit to like 4 hours of a tv show in one sitting), so i don't watch many movies. i think the last one i watched was abigail? honestly, really fun if you don't take the movie too seriously. so i enjoyed it! i also have a hard time with dramas, but i am watching two rn: i'm finally watching bridgerton(season 2 was actually delightful even though i didn't really appreciate season 1) and duy beni which is a turkish drama that mey's fc is from where i found the episodes on youtube. kind of a ridiculous plotline, but it's addicting. i only mean to watch 1 ep and then suddenly i've watched 4.

i never grew out of my punk/emo phase ;-; it stays in rotation, though i've added metal to the mix. i don't listen to pop often unless it's your 00s/10s club icons(i love kesha) BUT i do like chappell roan a lot rn. i actually did a popularity case study on her album for my final this last semester!!

i am also a sims player— i've literally run out of storage on my laptop bc of it, so any more cc, mods, or packs will have to wait until i actually upgrade to a pc lmao

I wasn't expecting such an in depth reply but thank you this really made me smile I started watching Buffy 14 years ago with an ex but they were her DVDs and I think we broke up around season 3 so I never got to finish it haha I remember loving it though!!! I loved Willow and I loved Rupert Giles but I remember wondering why the vampires were so ugly lmao. Same feeling with Teen Wolf, it looks hilarious and I can't wait for cutie Daniel Sharman but the wolf human hybrids look so weird imo especially Isaac's, his is particularly ugly haha. I will check out my babysitter!! I love piper so it'll be great to see who he is based on I highly recommend TVD, it's very compelling (pun intended) and makes me feel a lot of emotions thank you for making me feel validated about not finishing things! I'll often watch shows all the way up to the last episode and then just don't get round to watching the last episode before I want to move onto another show it's so silly lol. I never finish books either I think the last book I finished was 2 years ago

I have never heard of Our Town!! I will definitely check it out! My favourite musicals are Falsettos, Waitress, Dogfight, Company, Merrily We Roll Along, West Side Story, The King & I, Hello Dolly, Singing in the Rain, The Little Mermaid and A Strange Loop...quite a few I just love them. I've only seen two of those live but I'm keeping my eyes open for the rest! Dogfight and Falsettos are very American so I'm unlikely to find those in the West End but I'm going to move to the states in a few years so maybe then

I never really got into DC for some reason!! I love Batman, but I've never really delved into the rest. It's something I should explore for sure, especially now that MCU is getting so complicated. I just watched Deadpool & Wolverine and didn't enjoy it so I think it's time for a switch. Semi looking forward to Thunderbolts but I'm sour about the way they treat Bucky so my hopes are low. I don't trust the writers anymore!

I'm the same way with movies, I don't have the patience to watch them unless I'm watching with somebody else - and my partner has pretty different tastes to me I'm discovering, so I don't watch many horrors these days. I'm very picky about horror bc I think a lot of writers can be extremely lazy with overusing tropes and jump scares and torture porn, but occasionally you'll find a gem and it just itches the scratch for me!! And YES Bridgerton !! I loved it way more than I thought I would. Season 1 I enjoyed but season 2 was AMAZING and made season 1 look trash. I never watched season 3 but I watched Queen Charlotte, which I recommend if you haven't seen it! It's very emotional.

Yesss I've been going back to the 00s hits lately, especially since starting vampire diaries bc that show started in 2009 so there's a lot of 00s music in it. And yes Chappell Roan really does it for me! And a lot of gay pop, King Princess and Todrick Hall and The Aces etc, there are some really great LGBTQ artists making absolute bangers.

I removed my CC folder from Sims so I've been playing without it for a while but I think I want to bring some things back in. If you have any particular cc or mods that you love lmk and I can share mine too!!
