Got a question for everyone! How often (if ever) do your characters smoke weed and what's their opinions on it???
ok i'm going to say:
- piper has never smoked, finding the idea intimidating. he's not sure he'd like it. in general, he has a hard time letting go of things and doesn't think he'd enjoy feeling out of control.
- aadesh has a few times, nothing habitual. doesn't necessarily have a strong opinion on it. bellamy has a lot. he loves it.
- mey's only really smoked at parties, and she quite enjoys it. slows her down a little bit and makes her feel a little bit more normal. she'd never dare keep it on her or in her room, for fear of getting in trouble and kicked out of school(and the wrath of her mother).
- rita frequents the party scene at mahoutokoro quite a bit. she's done more than her fair share of experimenting with party favors. she used to smoke a lot, and enjoys it, but has way more fun drinking.

and yes, i'm still thinking abt the tarot card answer but i've been a little bit lazy and haven't done a ton of research yet, but it's still on my mind

Gavy - She has smoked both socially and to help with her mental health. She enjoys it but doesn’t do it all the time though she would be down to have a casual smoking session if others were interested. She and Imogen used to shotgun off each other which she always enjoyed, especially during their more intimate moments.

Einar - He did it more so in his youth than he does now. He may partake every once in a while but prefers to smoke his pipe tobacco instead. That being said, he may or may not still know how to turn say…an apple…into a pipe hehe.

Naomi - She has done it a few times and often likes to do some form of art when she is high because it is fun for her to look back at later. It isn’t something she has to do and it can happen around her without her partaking in it but if the mood hits she will certainly puff puff pass.

Auri - This is actually something she enjoys with her grandmother during late nights on the beach of their island. The two of them will share a joint and watch the stars together while talking about everything and nothing. This likely surprises people and it is something members of her family have tried to shame her for but they don’t get too far with it when Grandma is the one providing.

Azura - While she prefers wine or whiskey Azura isn’t absolutely against weed. For a while she didn’t dare partake because it reminded her too much of her two weeks with Klaus and how he often had her drugged but over the years she has indulged a few times as a way to reclaim some of which Klaus took from her. The first few times post Klaus that she got high ended up being bad trips but Akihito helped her through them and now she can find enjoyment in the high again.

Interesting question and not something I'd thought about yet!!

Auguste will green out if he mixes weed and alcohol so at parties he only drinks. He used to smoke with his friends from back home, though - they used to go for walks together in the surrounding countryside or the woods, and then sit down together and share a joint. For him, it was never with the intention of getting really high, but rather to just relax. Sometimes he would go out on his own into the woods and sit down and have a little smoke, just to wind down. However, ever since he became a werewolf, he's found that weed makes him paranoid. He also doesn't get to hang out with his Urepel friends much anymore since he had to move to Paris to go to Beauxbatons, so the environment is just totally different. He misses hanging out with his friends more than he misses the smoking element, but now he's wary of smoking weed because he gets paranoid that someone - maybe even a friend - is seeing through his lies and is plotting his downfall.

When Deianira was involved with that unofficial band of aurors in her early twenties, there was a culture of smoking weed that she would partake in. For her, the effect was mixed, and it depended on her mood as to how it impacted her. Sometimes she found that it made her paranoid, and she would get this horrible feeling that Thelonious was nearby, perhaps controlling one of her friends without anyone realising, or even just observing and listening to them. She knew that being intoxicated made her vulnerable to him, and that scared her sometimes. Other days, however, when she was feeling more confident, determined or empowered, she found that smoking weed actually took the edge off and helped her see the funny side of everything. She would end up in fits of laughter, which she ultimately found very healing. However, she stopped indulging in taking drugs when she became an auror, because not only was the nature of her job serious, unpredictable and required a sober mind, but it was also a government job which did not tolerate drug use. When she transferred into her teaching role at Ilvermorny, she continued to stay clear of drugs, as she feels a duty to the students to be dependable. Deianira doesn't judge others for using it unless they misuse it, smoke it at inappropriate times, encourage students to smoke, or are high in professional environments.

Stellan likes getting high, but doesn't really like the smoking part because sometimes it stings their lungs or burns their throat, and a few times before they've ended up with a mouthful of ash from the pipe. Their mothers smoke weed, but they hide the stash from Stellan and their brothers. Of course, the three know where the hiding place is and so have got high together a number of times. Lorna and Cate pretend not to know this, and just change their hiding place every now and then. Stellan doesn't get paranoid and has never combined weed with alcohol so can't tell if they can mix them or not, but when they're high they just find everything hilarious and laugh a lot. They think getting high is fun and cool but have only ever smoked with their brothers.

Thank you for your patience! Azura is up and I will post Einar tomorrow! I hope her post is okay, I was trying to write it while running on far too little sleep (so it feels a little wobbly to me) but that is also my own fault as I have a very messed up internal clock haha!

Also who would like their character's mood boards next? I am having a hard time deciding!

ok ok, tarot cards— my knowledge on tarot is extremely limited, so pls forgive me if i'm sort of misinterpreting the cards, BUT this is my take based on my understandings:

mey - tbh i struggled to pick between the fool and the chariot. the chariot sort of represents her strength and boldness, and (based on my understanding), the chariot sort of encourages the harnessing of chaos into a more focused, clear path, which is something she should do. it also represents her determination, especially with the way she has overcome the obstacles of her upbringing at koldovstoretz. when it's reversed, it is representative of her self-doubt and how much of an outsider she feels. she has a sort of emotional instability that leads to her impulsiveness and temper, and she acts quite rashly. she needs to sort of take the good things about herself and use it to control herself and the outcomes of her actions. HOWEVER, i did also feel as though the fool suited her as well. it shows her innocent, spontaneous side and how free-spirited she can be. it's also symbolic of new beginnings, which, for her, this tournament is. it's her chance to make closer friendships than what she has at koldovstoretz. i think it can also represent the room she has to grow, to settle down and maybe work on her more impulsive side. reversed, it still sort of shows her self-doubt BUT focuses more on her naivety, which is already becoming a theme to her story here. it also represents a sort of inconsideration she has for others and their cultures, which comes off in her insistence and her talkative nature that sort of domineers conversations.

piper - i think piper could easily be the hermit card. yes, he is a person who gravitates towards or typically ends up in solitude. but, on top of that, he's very introspective and a seeker of wisdom and truth. the search for the truth seems to be a main facet to this card, which is something that is also already prominent in piper's story, underscored by both his abilities as a seer and his inclination to help naomi, who is a stranger, despite his discomfort in social situations/around new people. he's also searching for his inner-self, which sort of shows his potential path of coming out of his shell a little bit more and being more comfortable with himself as a person. reversed, it represents the loneliness he feels— especially now that the only two friends he had in the first place are gone— and his struggles to really confront any of his big emotions. as another self-doubter, he's falling into the trap of thinking too deeply and sort of "losing his way".

bellamy/aadesh - while i feel like the chariot could also fit here to a certain degree(again, based on my very limited understanding), i am going to say the magician! upright, it's a manifestation of aadesh's desire and willpower, which has pushed him into hunting power in a way that is self-beneficial. it can also show how charming both aadesh and bellamy can be as figures that are now supposed to be one in the same, allowing aadesh to embody bellamy almost seamlessly, but also to draw attention to himself in the way that he wants and sort of control the narrative— there's a reason he chose such a flashy figure to pose as, rather than any real professor at hogwarts. however, reversed, the magician represents trickery and illusion, which is truly what is driving aadesh and bellamy's story arc rn. it shows aadesh's abuse of power, his selfishness, and sort of hints at his instability, which has made him power-hungry and pushed him towards this sort of facade, and may be his undoing. (7 of swords also works extremely well, but not necessarily when reversed, which is why i'm inclined to say magician).

chitrita - while i like how the high priestess fits her, since it has a focus on mystery, power, and secrets, i can't help but feel like the devil better embodies her story and her internal struggles. the devil represents not only her manipulativeness and her need to control the world around her, it also shows her indulgence in the excess— materialism, parties, alcohol, sex— which reveals how selfish and self-destructive her actions truly are despite her prim-and-proper, powerful exterior. it also represents how she's restricted or bound by the expectations that are set for her, her own personal fear, and the misfortune of living in the wake of aadesh's disgrace. reversed, the devil is representative of the consequences rita is and will continue to face for her poor, selfish decision making and the potential she has to grow out of it all and sort of mature into a better person, restoring control, freeing herself from her own fears, and letting go of her need to be in control.

again, i'm not super familiar with tarot, so my interpretations could be a little messed up if i read or misunderstood certain interpretations of the cards or didn't quite understand how they're applied. i tried to pick cards that fit them in their current state and still had potential for their stories, though they're still developing.

also Sanctuaryforall1 Sanctuaryforall1 i wouldn't be mad if you did boards for my characters 👉👈

Also we are going with Angel yeeted her champion back to their school right and that’s why someone else was spit out of the goblet to be new champion.

Wolfiee Wolfiee Not yet. As of right now, Raphael hasn't done anything wrong. The yeeting shall commence once he fails to show up to the first challenge (tomorrow in the RP) lol.

Ooh ok! Was just trying to figure out what Angel is gonna say then about the cup spitting out a second name as champion. 🤣

Wait so Raphael is still technically at the school? 👀 Or has he gone missing? (Or is it a secret?) Did the Goblet foresee him not showing up? That's so scary... Imagine being all ready for the first challenge and then suddenly your replacement shows up 💀

Pyroclast Pyroclast He is still technically at the school (as far as anyone knows). However, since he hasn't been heard of in a while, it is indeed possible that he went missing, if we want to concoct such a plot! As of now though, Raphael is just hanging around as a background character. His personality was pretty cagey and socially oblivious and distrusting of others, so it's not totally unreasonable that he's isolating himself. So sorry for the vague answer. We kind of glossed over him a little bit IC, but no plot has taken place yet to actively remove him from the story. We can always change that, though.

Like walking into a boardroom meeting and seeing someone sitting in your seat and doing your job…

No don't be sorry! I just started wondering what would happen if Auguste bumped into him 😂 idk, maybe he's missing, or ran into trouble and got killed somehow (shame it's not a full moon, or we'd have an easy explanation...) or maybe he broke a law, performed magic in front of local muggles... Though if we were kicking people out for law breaking, I don't think Cha Cha would be here anymore either lmao

LMAO lowkey the idea of auguste eating raphael and then also taking his spot in the tournament is funny to me. big bad wolf impersonating grandma vibes

Actual live footage of Auguste moments before he received the call to Ilvermorny.

Since Raph was one of Angels students. Could I possibly come up with a reason for his disappearance? Something that would fit with his character and all the stuff that’s already taken place in the rp? Cause I think I have an idea.

Obvs Aviator gets the final say but I like this idea! Especially since I don't know Raphael at all

Weird coincidence but I just walked past a man wearing pyjamas and a fluffy wolf hat with ears. Walking next to his mate who was dressed in normal clothes haha
