Fantasy Oblivion: Gone but not forgotten

-Nora Shimuya-

She did not know either of the two - though she was broken out of her trance by a touch. Eyes widened as she completely lost her calm somewhat flustered by the closeness. "Sh-...Yeah!" Looking at Carlylse - scanning him up and down suspiciously, it takes her some time to regain her composure. "I-...Sure?" Clearing her throat, the deadly calm composure returns. "When?"

Saturday

Somehow, Alexis got the permission from her parents to go. Actually, they are delighted that she asked for their permission. Like, "My little girl is old enough to go out with her friends!". She doesn't have the heart that this is her first time going on with friends because it is the first time she got invited out. She decided to go with something casual. Her green t-shirt, black jacket and blue jeans with Nike running shoes... Too casual?

Anyhow, she's the one who arrived first at "The Rolling Pin", so she decided to get in first and make sure that they will get a table. The place is crowded with people and after Alexis got inside, people begin to line up and have their name written on the waiting list. She sat down in an empty round table awkwardly, waiting for Carl and the boxing club captain to come.

Cling, cling!

The bell above the doorbell rang as Carlysle stepped in carrying a stack of heavy papers and news clippings which he dumped on the table in front of Alexis.

"I have been. doing a lot of research." he said tiredly, putting down his backpack and slumping down on an opposite seat.

"Moring, L." smiled a waitress as she laid two cold glasses of water on the table. "Here for some schoolwork?" she smiled at Alexis very warmly as though she was happy Carlysle was with a girl.

"More of a meeting to solve a mystery." said Carlysle dramatically, winking at Alexis. He took out a black laptop from his backpack that had a sticker of a grey eye and turned it on.

"Riiiiight . . ." Still smiling, the waitress gave them the two menus that were tucked in her arms then she took out a pencil and pad from her apron pocket. "So, what'll it be?"

"Red iced tea, Meg." said Carlysle, typing into his laptop. "Mushroom soup, and a solo order of cheesy-bacon-mushroom with extra bacon."

Walking along the street, Nora let out a long, drawn out sigh. Wearing a simple yet revealing tank-top to escape the heat, yet tight jeans for the sake of formality. A simple pendant hung around her neck and swayed as she walked. She was relatively used to these sort of outings, and her uncle didn't question her absence.

Strolling up to the 'Rolling Pin', she peeked inside and eventually spotted the other two. She'd waltz up to them and smack down on a chair at the round table, shuffling her chair up (perhaps uncomfortably) close to Alexis as she eyed the documents with curiosity. "Oooh ... ? Someone's been working tirelessly." She points out. "Do entertain - Carlysle." It wasn't all too hard to find that name. After all, he was somewhat known as a prankster as well as getting up to other antics. Turning her head towards Alexis, she raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "But I don't know your name."

Alexis had no idea how Carl could carry these papers all by himself. Before she could ask, a friendly waitress approached their table and it seems like Carl is a regular customer here. Regular enough to make an order without looking at the menu, ordering what could be his favourite while taking out a slim, expensive-looking laptop and put it on the table. Alexis's family only have a big, ol' computer that they bought in 2006. It still operates using the ancient Windows XP, but it's more than enough for her and her parents to work. Alexis snatched the menu book placed on their table, "Uh... Lemon tea and baked cheese fusilli for me."

The door rings again and the captain of the boxing club, Nora (everyone in the school knows her), sat on a chair next to and too close to her enough to make Alexis shift her chair to make some comfortable distance between her and Nora.

She opened a conversation with Carl, before turning her head toward Alexis and asked what's her name. Of course, she's just a nobody at school. A background character.

"N-Nice to meet you." She replied, nervously. "A-Alexis."

"So," said Carlysle, putting away his laptop to the side as Meg the waitress came around again to take Nora's order. He placed his fingertips together, "Did you experience anything odd during the concert, Nora?"

"Hello, dear." greeted the waitress, she gave Nora the menu and a glass of cold water. "Call me when you're ready to order." she whispered, then left.

-Nora Shimuya-

Giving a short nod towards Alexis, Nora cracked a very subtle smile; her lips only curving ever so slightly to complete the expression. "What a cute name. My name is Nora." Initial greetings out of the way, she shot a glance back towards Carlysle. Leaning back in her chair, she muttered under her breath: "Hrmpfh ... where to I start? It's ..." She clears her throat. "It is stupid but ... I had some really vivid hallucination or vision or something." A delicate hand rubs the back of her neck as she averts her gaze. "I don't know." Eye contact is re-established. "Does that have anything to do with that paper pile?"

"It does." said Carlysle. "Five other students in our school had the same thing occur to them at around exactly the same time." he pushed the copies of the bio data of five students from the schools' registration office to Nora and Alexis. (OOC: They're the other characters)

"They all talk about the same thing, about a white-haired royal lady, a flash of white light, and a tower called 'Oblivion'." he pushed even more papers that had copies of the student's tweets and posts in social media sites.

Meg came back carrying a tray of their steaming orders and a pitcher of red ice tea.

"They're neither aliens, nor have they showed any psychic abilities in the past." he continued, taking a slice of the cheesy-bacon-mushroom pizza. "But the thing that puzzles me is I didn't see the white haired lady. Did you see a white haired lady?" he asked Nora.

"Tower? No, no... I'm pretty sure that it's a castle? At least, that what i see in my vision..." It's scary to think that there are at least 4 other people who experienced the same thing as she is. Seeing the same place with the same name and probably occured at the same time first. She's trying to remember she see. That's all. "I didn't see the her, but m-maybe those who saw her might see you instead but they mistake you for a woman?"

She grabbed a fork and started stirring her fusilli, mixing the melted cheese with the fusilli and the meat and the sauce. She was about to eat it when she realize something. She saw something different. Market, castle, battlefield, wound. "Wait... A flash of white light?... I didn't see that?..."

-Nora Shimuya-

A few moments linger, before Nora points out: "Mhm. I saw a castle as well, not a tower." She agrees with Alexis. "But I was interrupted half way through my ... er ... trance. So maybe I didn't get the full thing. Maybe if we could find out what triggered it, we could -... redo?" Taking a light sip from the glass of water, it seems Nora is not interested in eating anything here. A competition was up not too far ahead, and she had to be careful with what she ate.

"Oh, I see . . ." chuckled Carlysle, leaning back on his seat. "The woman was me . . ."

"There was a flash of light." Carlsyle said to Alexis. "It was the 'end'. That was how I understood it. Before that I was fighting something dark and collosal . . ." his bright green eyes looked away, thinking, trying to remember. "What do you propose we do to trigger it again?" Carlysle asked Nora.

@Zer0 @ShyEra

"I-I think i saw a lot of different things. I remember a market, then a battlefield..." And then a gaping hole in my chest which probably end me. Alexis kept quiet about that. She can't tell them yet, she's not sure. M-maybe it's just a flesh wound? No, how can anyone survive a wound like that? Carl and Nora now talk about looking for a method to trigger it again. Are they serious? Why would anyone want to find out more, to see more of that silly vision they get? Alexis doesn't have the courage to say so, she's always like that. A fish that went along with the flow of the river. She remembered something else, something weird. "U-um, i-if i may ask, w-what happen to the person who got swallowed by the floor? And how did it happen?"

"Not sure . . ." said Carlysle, looking thoughtful. "But, I think I did that." he said slowly giving Alexis a look as though he was wondering if she thought he was crazy. "I did try it again at home, but nothing happened."

Carlysle looked at the other stacks of papers. "The past days I've been researching wormholes, teleportation, everything crazy and out there- and the only thing I've got are just some old medieval myths and legends-nothing about real people." he sighed, eating a crouton from his mushroom soup. "The only way to find out more, in my opinion, is to trigger it again like what Nora said."

He swiveled his laptop around to show them music concert tickets. "John Doe is having another concert soon. I'm going there, see if I could have that vision again. Do you two want to come?" he asked, his bright green eyes alight with excitement.

@Zer0 @ShyEra

Alexis quietly ate her fussili, fully enjoy it while thinking about possible explanations about what's going on. Alien? No, she don't really believe in them unless she see one with her own eye. Halucination from heatstroke is the only possible, scientific, explanation Alexis could come out with. She's pondering her thoughts and was about to tell Carl and Nora about it when Carl suggested that they attend John Doe's concert so they could trigger the event again.

"Are you saying that our trigger is John Doe?" Alexis, clearly, didn't buy the idea. "If he is, we can just watch his video on YouTube."

-Nora Shimuya-

Another confident nod is given towards the vivid researcher. "Yeah, that was what I was about to suggest. Maybe it was the concert - at least that is the only thing I can think of that we all had in common at that moment." She seemed somewhat subconsciously jealous of the two eating, but stomached it. Her intense eyes shifted to Alexis. "Do you think it would be the same?" Giving a light shrug she added: "Suppose it wouldn't hurt trying. But if that is the case, we should maybe not do it ... here? Don't need Carlysle opening any worm-teleport-doomsday circles in public." A subtle giggle escaped the back of her throat, but she quickly ceased - almost as if she was stopping herself. "So. My place, yours or hers?" Leaning back in her chair again, her head inclines slightly upwards as a signal towards Carlysle.

@Zer0 @too much idea

"Not my place." said Carlylse, shaking his head. "I'm not exactly in good terms with my old man at the moment." he grimaced.

@ShyEra @Zer0

"... Wait, what's going on? Sleep over?" Alexis asked, lost in the conversation. It feels as if Carl and Nora speak in a different language where some word has a different meaning from what she knows. "No no no my parents will kill me if I bring a boy home."

"I never even hangout with friends like this due to... Circumstances at home." Liar, liar. Alexis told herself, but she is embarrassed to admit that she never have a friend before.

"Your parents must be really strict." said Carlysle, gobbling up the last of the cheesy bacon mushroom pizza. "How did you get them to let you come today?"

@too much idea

"Strict? No-no, they are not like that. They are just really busy working and i ended up having to take care of my siblings. That's all. They give me time off too but i never really wanted to go out, today is a special day with all the weird happenings." Oh how Alexis hoped that Carl stop asking. "Anyway, about the visions... Should we talk about what we see before, write it down and compare it to when we triggered another one?"

@Zer0 @ShyEra

"Good idea!" said Carlysle, distracted. "I'll compile it all." he pulled his laptop to him and began typing again. "I'll create a website for us by next week where we can post everything we find. This is so interesting . . . I think I'll call the website 'Oblivion', what do you two think?" he smiled.

-Nora Shimuya-

She watched somewhat nonchalantly as the two spoke away, her eyes mostly trained on Alexis. "To be fair, I've not brought anyone over to mine before either. But I think the current situation warrants for some customs to be broken. So we're settling with my place then?" At the mention of a website, she groaned lowly. "Eeeeh - I'm not good with computers and stuff." Which was true. At times she had used her Uncle's laptop for school related things and social media, but that was about it. "You take care of your siblings all by yourself?" A few seconds pass before she adds on: "That sounds pretty hard ...- cool of you." Cracking a subtle smile, she jerks a thumb towards the exit of the restaurant. "Whether today or tomorrow, we can head over to mine. Depends on the schedule you all have."

@Zer0 @too much idea

"I'm free tomorrow." said Carlysle downing the last of his red ice tea and putting away his laptop. "I've got work today." He called Meg the waitress over and asked for the bill.
