I'm trying to set up the numbers of Exalts in my game, but don't know how many there are supposed to be.


According to the Second Edition Books, I believe there were 250 Solars (now 125 Solars, 75 Abyssals, and 50 Infernals), 250 Lunars, and 200 Sidereals, as it says there are 700 seats in the Deliberative.


I thought this number was very small, so I pumped the numbers to 500 Solar Shards (250 Solars, 200 Abyssals, 50 Infernals), 500 Lunars, and 300 Sidereals, for a total of 1300.


The problem lies in the other Exalts.  There are no numbers for the Alchemicals and the Dragon-Blooded numbers are rated at 10,000 in the First Age and have increased to over 10 times the number of Solars for approximately 15,000 in the current timeline (I disagree with EM's opinion that it is 10 times the number of First Age Solars).


So, any guesses on the number of Dragon-Blooded and Alchemicals in Autochthonia and Creation?


And I don't want to hear from EM on this.
 
Hmmm... I've always gone by 500 Solars, 500 Lunar, 100 Sidereals in the First Age.


If you go by the DB book, there were 10,000 Dragonblooded exalted by the Immaculate Dragons, with 100 males to 9,900 females. They proceeded to breed like silly buggers, so in the First Age and in the Primordial war, there were ALOT more than 10,000 Dragonblooded soldiers. With an average of 30 children per Dragonblooded female, and with each generation after exaltation and puberty, those new dragonblooded are also encouraged to breed... (see page 50 of the DB book).


So, in the First Age, you're looking at a force of at least a few million Dragonblooded. Because, the DBs WERE the soldiers and not just officers of mortal soldiers.


In the second age, there are 10,000 DBs in the Realm or so it's calculated, this does not take into account the Outcastes, nor the raw numbers of DBs in Lookshy. Look in the 1e Outcaste book where they do talk about the numbers involved for the outcastes.


EDIT - I'll give more numbers on both the DBs and Alchemicals when I get home.

Perhaps for the sake of discussion? I dunno, I think that's what Internet forums are for.


Anyway, I thought the count was 300 Solars, 300 Lunars and 100 Sidereals. Sidereals' low number is something that's often accentuated, so maybe raising their number could be a little icky... Though, well. I liked the idea of one Sidereal per one perfect Solar Circle, so maybe 500 Solars, 500 Lunars and 100 Sidereals could do the job. >_>


And while I can't remember how many Alchemicals there are in Autochthonia (I think it wasn't even mentioned, actually,) something tells me that there are about 500 to 800. Probably near 800. I dunno. :|
 
Isn't the Sidereal "host" referred to as the Fivescore Fellowship, sometimes? A "score" is 20, so that's 100 Sidereals.


I, too, assume about 300 Solars and 300 Lunars in the FA. I suppose the other 100, if there were 700 seats, could be places for DBs and certain gods. Fair representation and all that, eh?

From what I remember in the Auto book, when they need more Exalts, they make them in the Vats.  The only limit to their number was finding a soul worthy enough to be Exalted, and getting the resources to manufacture the body.

Donno where the 250 Solars and Lunars came from...you have a page reference? All I can find is a hard reference to there being exactly 100 Sidereals (p. 31 of the core, top of the second column), which hasn't changed from first edition. Though I could never find an exact number, Solars and Lunars were always put at 300 apiece by my ST (probably because of the 700 deliberative seats, less a hundred Sidereals, leaves 600 to divide among the other celestials). Increasing them probably wouldn't be an issue...but the big deal about 100 Sidereals makes me agree with RR on leaving them alone.


As to the DBs, the 10,000 is the supposed number of DBs in the Realm, and I'm pretty positive that it's a relatively minor fraction of what the first age had. If you plug the math they give for Dragonblooded to mortal ratio into the population of the Realm, you get a LOT higher number...since it's like a 1-1000 ratio, when plugged into the however many tens of millions...or was it hundred millions? *sighs* I hate trying to find number references. There's supposedly roughly 3,000 DBs in Lookshy, and I think roughly the same spread across the rest of the world...


Autocthonians...good question...not a Steam Faction buff myself, though they are cool as a type, I haven't really got much of a clue, other than their numbers are still growing.

There are 100 Sidereals, 300 Lunars, and were 300 Solars. There are now roughly half that number of Solars. (p. 31-32 Core) In 1st ed it was further made clear that the remaining 150 Solar Essences were divided into 100 Abyssals and 50 in the hands of the Yozis.
 
I probably should know this already, but what's the population count of Creation again?

It was from there being 200 Sidies.  That left 500, with them being half Solars, half Lunars, for 250 each.
 
I'll just alter the numbers a bit:


Cannon Numbers:


First Age - 300 Solars, 300 Lunars, 100 Sidereals, 10,000 DBs, unknown number of Alchies (if there were any).


Second Age - 150 Solars, 100 Abyssals, 50 Infernals, 300 Lunars, 100 Sidereals, unknown number of DBs, unknown number of Alchies (if there were any).


Since I doubled the numbers for Solars and Lunars, I get 600 Solars (now 300 Solars, 250 Abyssals, 50 Akuma), 500 Lunars, and 100 Sidereals to keep with the numbers of Sidies.  Unfortunately, the Alchemicals and Dragon-Blooded are still up in the air.
 
There were Alchemicals in Creation just after the Primordial War, which would technically place them in the First Age. However, they all left with Autochthon in short order.
 
The Realm is supposed to have roughly 10,000 Dragonblooded. Lookshy has around 3,000 (about 300,000ish population, and repeatedly stated 1/100 ratio. Pretty much the highest Exalt/Mortal ratio in Creation). Outside of Lookshy and the Realm generally there is 1 Dragonblooded /5-10 thousand mortals. Some places have higher, some lower, with large cities tending towards more, while rural locations tend more towards the lower end, but that's the average. So that mainly leaves you to determine how many people there are in Creation minus The Realm and Lookshy.

10,000 - terrestrial exalts from the Empress's get


Unknown number of Outcaste Terrestrials Exalted though i would reckon i might somewhere be around what is on the blessed isle


Though iv read in second edition it says that Half the Solar Essences got Free and the Deathlords have the remaining it doesnt anywhere state that the Yozi's got the other essences but something makes me think the whole ordeal has really changed that much since 1st edition

The book said that they were created after Autochthon closed up
 
on pg 17 7th paragraph it say because of the great geas that he could not take the monutain folk with him, why the Alkies are exalts are they not.


pg 18 paragraph 2 talks about how Autochon taugtht people to make Alkiesw just before he went to sleep
 
Hmm.. I could have sworn I read something about Alchemicals existing before Auto left Creation, but I can't find it, so I concede the point.
 
I thought it was something like 100 Abyssals, and 50 Infernals...?  I seem to recall reading somewhere that the total Solar Essences caught were 150, with 50 being handed to the Yozis.  That being said, there has been some success on tainting Solars into Abyssals...  I believe the Lover made the most progress on that end.

I don't think any Second Edition book has stated anything about Infernal essences. WW probably left them out because anytime someone brings up the topic of Infernal Exalted (Not just Akuma) it tends to cause a big argument and they wanted to prevent problems. As far as I'm concerned the 50 the Yozis got should still be included, but I don't think its cannon anymore.
