Um Emmi, just one quick thing, if you committed suicide then you can't become a Regalia. It means that the Phantoms got to you and so you are tainted, thus being unable to become a Regalia.
ohhh, I see. Thanks, It's been a long time since I've seen noragami. Planning on rewatching it

Emmi Emmi The buddy stabbing him for revenge seems not very well thought out. Can you make that more substantive?

Aaaand, nice! Karma is fun~ ^U^

BTW, what do you mean by his weakness being a woman's hand? Like, he enjoys being pet?

Since he was abused by his mother, he was hit a lot. So, when a woman’s hand touches him, he freaks out

Just an odd way to put it. Also didn't his dad also hit him? So wouldn't he be afraid of anyone touching him?

Also, okay~ I’ll make sure I edit it once I get my hands on a desktop. My iPad is killing me, therefore, can’t edit

Udeya
Patron Of Invention And Poetry
tumblr_nqkucjMBIk1tzan3fo1_400.jpg

☾

Nickname: Ude

Age: 398. Looks early to mid twenties.

Gender: Male

Shrine: Having been a well-known god once, he has a small number of shrines scattered all over Japan, but his main shrine is in Nara, near the Kofukuji National Art Museum. His followers pray at his shrine for inspiration in their creative pursuits.

Followers/Strength: His followers consist of aspiring poets and inventors. Since those are both often used parts of creativity, he is fairly strong.

Clan Name: ka, bu

Exemplar: Inbu

Important Relationships: Nagasu, Saki, Daichi

☾

Dream: To See His Family

Fear: Being Forgotten Again

Strengths: Compassionate/Sympathetic, Forgiving, Fast

Weaknesses: Bound By Human Morals, Aloof, Humans, Combat

Likes: All Forms Of Art, Nature, Museums, Writing Poetry, Watching Flowers Bloom In Spring, Watching Leaves Change Color In Fall

Dislikes: Gods Seeing Themselves As Masters Over Their Regalia, Rudeness, Banana Bread (the smell of it makes him sick), Mistreatment

Personality: Despite being a god, Ude acts more like a human. He is well-mannered, polite and only disrespectful to those who have either disrespected him first or act in a way that makes him lose respect for them. Not treating humans fairly or treating them like objects is one of those things. He doesn't see himself as a god. Except for helping his followers, he rarely performs any other godly duties and has never been interested in interacting with other gods. He doesn't see storms as his problem, and he won't do anything about phantoms unless they posses a human. He overestimates the power of god, seeing others like him as immortal. He's never seen a god fade away before.

Some see him as lazy because of how much of his time he spends outside, rarely doing more than laying around on the grass or watching the clouds. He doesn't visit his shrines often, and his followers are the only reason any of them are in good condition. He is prone to human gestures, like saying 'itadakimasu' before meals and taking off his shoes before entering someone else's home. He doesn't see lying as a bad thing if it's to protect the ones you love, and is easy to forgive humans who do bad things out of desperation. On the other hand, he is unforgiving to those who hurt people just because they can, or belittle others.

Other: Ude treats his regalia as equals/friends

☾

History: Before he reincarnated, Ude looked like this

Ude was born during the Edo period, from the wishes of inventors and struggling poets looking for inspiration to bring their ideas to life. Being a god of Creativity, he was born with the power to inspire, to turn mediocre ideas into great ones and to nudge those in need over a roadblock in their work. He can also take inspiration away from those undeserving of it, but never has. He spreads inspiration to any who ask for it and his early days where spent traveling all over Japan, teleporting from one creative dream to the next. He found his first regalia, Aika, in Tokyo, who took the form of a brush. With Aika, Ude was able to inspire some of the greatest works of poetry to come out of that period. He gained most of his followers during this time, who left offerings for him hoping he would visit and gift them with inspiration.

His second regalia, Touka he found close to the end of the Edo period. She was the only weapon he ever had. His third regalia, Ginka, became a bracelet that allowed him to see phantoms that were close to him, but not in his line of sight. His fourth regalia, Hagaka, turns into a buckle that allows him to create amplified boderlines. Ude's final regalia from the 'ka' clan, Tetsuka, took the form of a cog. He acted as Aika's counterpart, boosting the inspiration Ude gave to inventors instead of poets.

Ude visited Takama-ga-hara for the first and the last time around the beginning of WW1. He was considered inexperienced and too young to know better when he rejected the place given to him, preferring to live in his shrines on the near shore. He chose the worship of his followers over his fellow gods, and many of the elder gods disliked him for it. That was why, when Tetsuka blighted him for the first time by stealing a sacred object from Takemikazuchi, no one came to his defense. Tetsuka didn't know the object was sacred when he stole it, but that didn't make a difference. Ude was blamed and Tetsuka was sentenced to death. Ude tried to intervene, but he was a god of creativity, not combat. He came into conflict with Takemikazuchi, who first killed Aika when the regalia tried to protect him, then overpowered and killed Ude himself with Kiun.

Ude was reborn at his shrine in Nara in the middle of WW2, but without a guidepost to re-educate him about who he was/should be, he was left to wander, not knowing who or what he was. He was eventually found and taken in Saki and Daichi Miyomo, who assumed he lost his parents in the war. He was raised with their daughter, Nagasu, and became fast friends with her. Daichi was sent to fight on his tenth 'birthday', and never came back. There, Ude learned about what loss meant to humans. Neither he or Nagasu ever went to school, Saki too afraid to send them out after losing her husband and learning about how much worse the war was getting. Instead, they were home schooled. Ude learned about morals then, and what humans were capable of doing out of desperation over the radio. Ude ignored his godly duties during that time, unaware of his declining followers. Once it was announced that the war was over, Nagasu took him outside and shared her love of nature with him. He spent a lot of his young adult life outside, picking flowers with Nagasu and feeding small animals that wandered close. He believed he was human up until Nagasu, who was only a year older than him, turned thirty, and the few friends he made started to question him about his young appearance.

Though it was only when he accidentally teleported to an inventor that prayed for his guidance and left offerings for him all around his work space that he realized what he truly was. He visited his shrine to try and find pieces of his past self and questioned his followers until he realized that they didn't know anything other than that he was a god of creativity and he often helped them. He lived a dual life as both a human and a god until Saki died, and the day Nagasu forgot about him. He spent a long time in Tokyo, where he has a large following, and when he returned, she didn't recognize him. Up until the second she saw him as a stranger, Ude loved banana bread. He left, and never went back to her.

He very recently discovered a lone spirit in a dark corner of Kyoto, and his instincts took over to save it from being corrupted. That was how he ended up with Inbu. He turns into a book that makes Ude's chants and spells stronger and harder to resist.

Name: None currently. Though under Jizo, she was called Sachi.

Age: Looks to be 13. It’s been 50 years since she died, so she’s actually 63 years old.

Gender: Female.

Named by…Jizo Bosatsu before she was released.

How many years ago? This was 50 years ago.

Describe their relationship: She was one of his many children before she blighted him. She loved and respected him like a grandfather. He loved and cared for her.

Human form:

Vessel form:

61f1ea131553e807287170e4832ecdb7.jpg

Loyal to: Currently Yuu (human).

Abilities: In human form, she is able to use Borderline and various Songs including: Song of Healing (a chant that heals the target of their non-blight related wounds), Song of Sleep (a chant that makes the target sleep), and Song of Misfortune (a chant that brings bad luck to the target).

In weapon form, she is quite durable and has a tendency to smash through barriers—both spiritual and otherwise. She can also grow and shrink at the will of her wielder or herself.

Personality

A child of a quiet and shy nature, she likes listening to others rather than voicing her own opinion. As a result, she tends to be quite empathetic and has an easy time making friends. Sincere. Diligent. Well-mannered. A girl who aimed to please. There was little wonder as to why she was one of Jizo’s favored children. However, beneath her exterior of purity is a calculating selfishness that comes from her fear of being abandoned. She wants to be loved and will do whatever it takes to get it, even if it means putting on a mask of purity. It was a mask she driven in so deep, it melded into her very skin and became who she was.

However, beneath mask is a self-centered romantic with a deep imagination and a vibrant voice. Her curiosity led her to the living world, despite Jizo’s warnings, which suggests she can be quite rebellious despite her seemingly obedient facade. She is very loyal to those who she grows to love and will do whatever it takes to protect them. Her loving and selfish nature makes her somewhat obsessive as well. If rejected she gets easily upset. And when she’s upset, she gets spiteful. As a spirit, she’s a little clingy, a little flirty, and tends to hold grudges. Since she was released from Jizo’s care, the mask she’d worn for him had been steadily peeling away as she remained in the human world, bound by her love for a single person.

History

God’s Greatest Secret

Her real name is Megumi. As a human she was a product of rape. Her mother was too ashamed to go through abortion, so the woman raised her. However, her mother never loved her either. Though it was clear to her mother tried , her resemblance to her villainous father was too much and that often resulted in the woman taking her anger out on the man’s daughter. It was never on purpose and her mother often apologized afterwards. The young girl even welcomed the abuse if it meant some of her mother’s pain would go away. She loved her mother and figured she could take it all in silence. However, one day, her mother took things a bit too far and she died. That was pretty much it. She never really made any friends and her life wasn’t anything to brag about.

Afterlife.

The next thing she knew she was named Sachi and taken in by Jizo Bosatsu. She had no memories of her past or even who she was. She didn’t care. Jizo was her world. Her god. He gave a name and a place to belong. For 10 years, Sachi served Jizo with many other children regalias in Takama-ga-hara. She learned many things about gods, spirits, and phantoms. She was taught the duties and abilities of a regalia, especially excelling in songs. It was only when she became dead that Sachi found her life. She had friends. She had a duty. A goal. Sachi was given everything she could ever want in Takama-ga-hara so long as she kept to the rules:

Don’t interfere with the living world.

However, Sachi’s curiosity got the better of her one day and she snuck away to the living world to play. That’s how she’d met him…the human boy called Yuu. For some reason he could see her when others couldn’t. They became friends and they often played together. Yuu was different from the other regalias. He was more lively. More fun. For Sachi, it was her first love. However, Yuu’s life wasn’t all that wonderful as Sachi found out. He was often bullied by the neighborhood kids. The biggest and meanest was a boy called Ren Takeda.

Sachi couldn’t stand to see her friend hurt. She grew furious at Ren and started haunting him—potted plants falling near where he was, lights-blinking out, shattered mirrors, etc. Her goal had been to frighten the boy to never bothering Yuu again, every malicious action blighting Jizo. When she pushed Ren down the stairs in retribution for breaking Yuu’s glasses, it was the last straw. Sachi had crossed the line.

It was only thanks to the absolution ritual performed by her friends that kept her soul pure and Jizo’s intervention that kept the human safe from harm. Sachi deeply regretted what she was done. However, she refused to sever her ties with Yuu. He was her friend and she didn't want to forget him. It was that day that Jizo released her from the name binding them together. There was sorrow and kindness in Jizo’s eyes when he spoke to her.

“You remind me a bit of my friend. If you love a human so much, you should remain in the living world. But be forewarned, Child, the near shore holds nothing but suffering and grief for beings of the far shore such as ourselves.”

For 40 years, Sachi lived up in the attic of Yuu’s home in Kyoto, protecting the house and the boy from harm. However, as Yuu grow older he stopped being able to see her. He gradually began to forget her. Sachi watched the boy she loved grow up, get married, and start his own family. She was happy, yet sad and lonely. She knew she had to leave…but she couldn’t. The bond on her part had grown too strong. Sachi knew the only way she way she would be able to leave is if Yuu died or a god came and severed her ties.

Blessed Regalia? No, but has the potential to be.

Strengths: She’s gotten better at keeping her emotions in check and won’t often blight her god. She is clever. She’s a quick learner, especially with regards to songs. As a blunt weapon, she is quite durable and provides a nice bit of force to smash a phantom to bits. Borderlines as well (though her strength will also depend on that of her wielder).

Weaknesses: She’s afraid of belts and whips. She can’t seem to learn severance no matter how hard she tries (may change rp). She gets easily attached to things which means she's prone to addiction.

[div class=contentbox]Personality: Not only does Juku still appear young, he's still childlike. And not exactly the cute kind. As a deity of gaming born in the turn of the century, he doesn't have the virtues or ideals of many gods. Outcasted, he craves to be accepted as one of them. As a result, his persistence can be quite annoying. Juku does care for his regalias and followers, he takes care of his clan and tries to grant as many wishes as possible. Though his methodology may seem half-ass sometimes as he wants it done quick so he can continue gaming himself. He rarely fights a phantom, and when he does it's usually to save himself and his regalias. Juku is easily intrigued by humans, and he often wants to 'play' with them. He's motivated by pleasing himself and his own happiness, not seeing any sort of repercussion or consequence that may happen to others around him.

Jukuren was born in the 1970s, when the popularity of 'Pong' skyrocketed and hit every country in the world, opening up many arcades that people flocked to just to play the addictive game. He has the natural ability to analyse games, to teach players how to play and enjoy them to the fullest. He didn't have a father, but a small god of fortune had took him in. He was worshipped for his luck in gambling and was known as Enya. Enya taught him everything he knows today, about the near and far shore, about humans, gods, regalias, and phantoms. Juku had always boasted about how he would be more popular than Enya, but that he'll take care of him like how Enya had took him in. Their father-son relationship lasted for a few years, and it didn't end on a good note. Juku had found out Enya was merely using him in some ploy of his to get himself into the good books of the tog guns in Takamagahara. He claimed that he was keeping Juku in check because he was actually a god of conflict; creating dispute amongst humans. Betrayed and angry, Juku took off and vowed to prove him and all the other gods wrong.

Iten, Patron of Justice and Truth
Age: Around 548 years old, appears to be around his mid-twenties
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Iten stands at an intimidating 6'1". He dresses in a way that reflects his personality -- that is, clean cut but approachable. He usually wears a blue suit with a simple belt and no tie which gives him a semi-professional air. When he attends events requiring formal wear, he dons a military uniform. Some may think this strange as Iten does not classify as a war god; however, this is because his mentality is rather behind on the times. Around the Edo period, samurai warriors who'd previously served as the military forces of individual feudal states had begun acting as the main police force of a newly unified Japan. Iten continues to make that connection between the military and law enforcement.

Shrine: A small shrine located in Kanagawa Prefecture, in the city of Chigasaki of the Greater Tokyo Area.
Followers/Strength: A medium-sized following. Most who invoke his name are victims of injustice. Iten usually tries to help right the wrongs committed against them, but as that may not always be within his power, he also tries to help them through the recovery process. Because these victims frequently harbor negative emotions as a result of their trauma, they are magnets for Phantoms looking to feed off of their darkness. As a result, he is used to combating Phantoms. Righteous policemen, judges, and other legal workers are also under his protection.
Special Abilities: Iten is able to tell when somebody is lying. When he wants to command attention, he can project his voice into a fearsome boom. If he is angered, he is capable of sending down a bolt of lightning in an attempt to smite the offender.

Clan Name: Mi (実) - truth, reality, fruit
Exemplar: None.
Regalia:
Hatsumi (Shoki - A bronze hand mirror adorned with a chrysanthemum design. It doesn't reflect anything, but it does offer Iten some protection from phantom attacks when kept on his person. It can also show Iten Phantoms in the vicinity, as well as help him track down targets; however, Hatsumi must have encountered the target beforehand to do so. Known spells: Borderline, Resound, Umbra)

Both of his regalia accompany him at all times. He doesn't take on new regalia often and much prefers older spirits because they are more stable and less likely to blight him. When it comes to being blighted by his regalia, he has a policy of banishment after purification. This is mainly because he believes that the regalia of a patron of justice and truth should be incorruptible. Before banishing the offending regalia, however, he always attempts to search for a new master to take them in. He also treats his regalia equally and often asks for their counsel in order to get their perspectives.

Personality: Iten possesses an easy self-assuredness that makes him very likable to some and not at all likable to others. Though he takes his job very seriously and any wrongdoing or falsehood is unlikely to pass under his eye without inspection, he knows how to let go and enjoy life's small delights. This is partly his way of coping with the difficulties of his duty; though he values justice and truth, he understands that there are times when they might not prevail. In such cases, the only thing he can do is help the affected pick up the pieces. In this way, Iten is a realist. His ideals are also malleable depending on the situation; if greater justice can be achieved through a small dishonesty, he does not hesitate to bend the truth a little.

Iten is a social butterfly. He sees that there is a human side to any system, and that making more friends is likely give to him more information and leverage should he ever go up against someone superior to him in rank. Moreover, he thinks that listening to varying perspectives is likely to enrich his understanding and aid him in formulating better solutions. Sometimes his friendships can seem shallow because of the way he keeps his friends at an arm's length, always analyzing them and refusing to become too involved in their personal affairs, but most of the gods and regalia he's acquainted with have resigned themselves to this fact. He's still an interesting conversation partner, if only for his skill with words. He avoids using force when he can, simply because he finds clever solutions to be more effective than violence.

However, in more serious cases than "he/she said...", "no, he/she said..." disputes, Iten operates with scary efficiency. He has no mercy or sympathy for those who harm others, and those who do must answer to him. Most of the time, he operates by giving divine aid to the humans working in law enforcement for a successful capture and conviction in order to give victims some closure, but when this is not possible (i.e. there isn't enough evidence to make a case or convict), he'll intervene by orchestrating some incident as a trial of sorts for the offender, with the outcome being based entirely on their luck. If they survive, that's the end of it. If they are harmed, then that's their divine punishment. When it comes to unjust gods, there is less that Iten can do but attempt to make them realize the dubiousness of their actions on their own and distance himself from them when they don't.

Strengths/Virtues: Iten is particularly good at mediating conflicts. Small disagreements can occur between humans, or even between two gods. In these cases, the differences between rightness and wrongness may be less clear, so Iten aids the concerned parties in reaching a middle ground. He is honest and strives for impartiality, so any human or god can count on him to give an accurate judgement of a situation. However, due to the volatile nature of some of the gods in Takama-ga-hara, he has learned to think quickly and speak his opinion in a roundabout manner such that his logic cannot be denied.

Weaknesses/Vices: As a seeker of truth, Iten's fixation borders on nosiness. If he were a human acting in today's legal system, he'd probably be buried in multiple privacy violation write ups for the extents that he goes to in order to uncover perpetrators of injustice. He is also rather evasive when it comes to matters of love and passion, thinking such sentiments unbefitting of him. He deliberates carefully when making decisions and drawing conclusions, but when he does set his mind on something, it is difficult to convince him otherwise. Iten's brand of moralism is also not black and white in nature; he bases his actions on the feelings of victimization felt by humans under his protection and the validity of those feelings, rather than codified law.

History:
Iten was born out of the wishes of the oppressed for retribution against their oppressors in an unfair feudal hierarchy, largely with the outbreak of violence during the Warring States Period. Chaos reigned and members of the lower classes could be killed by those of higher social status without consequence; a samurai could cut down a peasant to test their sword or strike those who compromised their honor (a vaguely defined concept not codified by law). The accused were afforded no rights and the magistrate served as both the judge and the jury, so they could be influenced in their verdicts. In such a difficult environment, he lived an uneasy existence doing his best to answer the anguished supplications of the populace. It would be inaccurate to say that he was worshipped; those who invoked his name were often grief-stricken, some calling upon the heavens out of a thirst for vengeance and others out of despair.

Being but a fledgeling god, Iten had difficulty dealing with the Phantoms that fed on such sentiments. He named his first regalia hastily in order to protect himself and his worshippers from impurities. However, this decision proved to be detrimental when the impetuous young shinki, Ikumi, began to blight Iten with his spiritual excess. The blight had already progressed considerably when a god passing through the area, Ishikori-dome no Mikoto, noticed Iten's affliction and offered him her aid. After an excruciating purification ritual, she advised him to banish Ikumi as she did not think he possessed the experience necessary to successfully discipline the wayward shinki. In need of a combat regalia and still emotionally attached to the young child, he was reluctant to release Ikumi from his service. Seeing this, Ishikori offered her own shinki, Suirei, in exchange for Ikumi. Suirei became Hatsumi and Ikumi, Hisare.

Only after the exchange did he realize that the old bag had shortchanged him. Shoki was not a combat regalia and even as a mirror, it was not capable of reflecting anything. Perhaps that's why Ishikori had loaded it off on him; it was a defective mirror. Still, he kept Hatsumi in his service, partly out of loneliness and partly out of pity for the young woman's fate. Over time, he came to depend on her cool-headed nature and enjoy her snarky comments. She also tided him over during his trying period of experimentation with temporary combat regalia. She too, came to trust in him, allowing him to unlock her true potential. For centuries, they only had each other as he struggled to scrape by with the meager followers he had. It was a vicious chain: little faith meant that he was in danger of fading, being in danger of fading meant that he had difficulty doing his duties, difficulty doing his duties meant his followers had decreased faith in him.

His time in the spotlight finally came with the rise of the famed Ōoka Tadasuke during the Edo period, who restored the populace's faith in justice. As the righteous magistrate lives on in Japan's cultural consciousness for his wise if unorthodox methods, so too does he live on in Iten's memory as Iten's most favorite human to date. When Ōoka Tadasuke died, Iten's shrine was erected in the area now known as Chigasaki in commemoration. During that time, Iten was also able to obtain his first permanent combat regalia, Isami, and secure a more reliable reputation among the gods of Takama-ga-hara.

Important Relationships:
Omoikane (god of wisdom, intelligence, and good counsel) - The two of them are friends and Iten often visits him to catch up on the going ons of Takama-ga-hara.

Other:
- Strangely popular with his elders, probably because he shares similar tastes
- His biggest fear is being blighted.
