Fantasy New World

Her ears and tail twitched when she heard the male say 'adopt.' She sat in her cage quietly thinking if he would be the right person. After thinking for a while she grabbed up her tail and bit on it lightly as to not hurt herself then stopped. "I'm faulty." is all she said looking down at the bottom of her cage her ears lying flat on her head. "Pick who you like." She quietly said afterwards, giving him a weak smile, not wanting to be selfish and wanting this human pick one that he would like not because of her selfish desire to get out.

She quickly snatched the candy. Again eating it......When she heard the boy she gave him a confused look. She didn't speak English. She didn't speak at all. So she just stared at him with an confused expression. She would move her bushy tail around, side to side. She then took in the features of the boy in front of her smiling again. She put her pointer finger out off the cage trying to poke his cheek. Which she did in fact do.

At the hybrid's silence, Tommy sighed. "Well, this means either you can't speak at all, can't speak English, or don't want to speak. That's fine." He grabbed another piece of chocolate, then held it out to her. The sweet treat was a little squishy from the temperature in the store, which he now noticed. He leaned his head on his knee, thinking. If she didn't understand what he was saying, then if he decided to adopt her, it would just be all that much harder to bond with her. He smiled kindly, trying to make himself look convincing to her. If she didn't take the treat from his hand, then he would have to keep trying to establish basic trust.

Jan shook his head. "I must disagree with you. Your decision is as important as mine. You mustn't think of yourself as a lower form of life, after all you all look much like us." He slowly began to reincorporate himself back again. "Right now this decision lays on you, not me. Feel free to think about it as much as you want. I will be right back, I just need to speak with the clerk for a bit." He left the side of the cage and approached the clerk again. "Excuse me for bothering you again, but what can you tell me about that tiger hybrid?"

The leopard cat flicked her ears, as she laid in her cage. Listening to the human voices that filled the room. She looked up at as a shadow crossed her path, an old scientist squatted down in front of her cage "Alright. What do you have today?" he asked with a sigh, as if it were a daily routine for him. He reached into her pockets and pulled out small trinkets and wrapped pastries. "You'll never get an owner with this behavior...good thing you have that bell on your neck or you'll be taking birds and mice home as well..." he got up and walked away to place them in the lost and found. Locking her cage door with a new lock, different from before. Miya slumped her face against the bars, rubbing the soft fur on her ears against the cool metal, giving a weary glance at the bird boy, then towards the fox and the chocolate-human.

Zeelia had nodded at the owner, as she made her way to exit. Before she had walked out she heard the male by the tigers cage speak of 'adopting' a small smile ran across her face. She then walked out as the doors shut behind her. Zeelia let out a soft sigh as her arms wrapped around her back, latching her fingers. She starred up at the sky as she kept walking on through the town without saying a word. It seemed as if she was relaxed for the first time in years. "Maybe I should continue training some of those animals at the shop, hopefully the owner's would allow it.." Zeelia had been lost in thought once again, not caring about her surroundings.

Rory sighed as he watched a female human walk out of the store. Guess today isn't my lucky day...He leaned against the steel bars of the cage and saw a scientist approached the thieving leopard cat. Once he left he saw her glance at him and he called over to her, "I think he is afraid you will take me." He laughed at his attempted humor and soon sank back down onto the bottom of the cage wanting some company.

Sitting on her knees, she pushed her hand forward for the sweet. Wrapping her hand around it.

Then pulling it from his hand. She unwrapped it. Popping the chocolate in her mouth. She chewed on the candy. Then gifting the boy with a cheeky grin. She placed her hand on the ground next to the bowl on her right. Dragging it over so she could drink from it. She lifted it with both of her hands and sipped on it.

Maimu's eyes widening never hearing such a thing before. All she had heard in the past was that she was still an animal and only a subject to be tested on. She couldn't help but to smile brightly. 'I may be getting adopted today, yay!' she thought her ears perking up and her tail swishing back and forth.

While organizing papers behind the desk, since she had nothing to do, she heard the same male that she warned about the tiger ask about it. "Oh, her." The clerk checked for the paper about her, looked it over then spoke. "She doesnt seem to be the chatty type, she may bite you and well tends to wander off when out of a cage. Her attention goes elsewhere. She sometimes has a hard time listening to orders, but initially isn't bad at all. She will eat anything edible when she gets really hungry." She put the paper down. "and her name is Maimu. That's the information gathered by the scientists. She's also 293 dollars." The clerk looked up at the male with a small smile.

Miya cocked an ear at the bird, not finding the situation grand enough to stop her from rubbing her ears against the bars. "It's quite tempting when you keep picking at your feathers like that...." the small leopard cat yawned, glinting her sharp canines in the store-room light "...watch yourself ....or you may find me plucking them off myself..." she replied with a toothy grin as she slapped her tail against the bottom of the cage, testing the avian. "I'm sorry...I guess that's a bit mean...but I can't help my instincts if you look so tasty...."

Tommy smiled when she took the chocolate from his hand, eating it. He watched her drink from the bowl, then wondered if he should adopt her. He noticed a man walk past him, then looked over at the cage he had walked from. He grabbed the bag of candy and pulled out a handful of pieces, placing them in front of the arctic-fox hybrid. He pointed to them. "These are yours. I'll be right back, okay?" He stood up and walked over to the cage the man had walked from. Inside was a leopard-hybrid, who seemed to be upset. He kneeled down and pulled out a piece of candy from the bag, then pressing it through the bars so she could eat it. "Hey. I noticed you seemed, well, sad." He smiled, trying to make her happy. He looked back over at the other female-hybrid, hoping she was eating the chocolate he gave her.

"Nah, it's fine. I like being known that I'm tasty and likeable to some people. I find nothing mean in what you said. We can't help it anyways, it's our instincts. Just hopefully if we ever get out of here and hang out try not to drool all over me," Rory teased as he plucked one feather and threw it through the bars of his cage sending it into the leopard cat's cage.

The Leopard cat perked up her ears at the human, purring at the sweet smell at the candy. The hybrid took the candy gratefully, still laying on her side as she leaned her head against the bars. She carefully took it in her mouth, eyes lighting up as it melted slowly. "Un....T-Thank...you..." Miya said quietly. She often acted rash and stubborn when she eet people on the streets, but her curious nature seemed to overtake her when she meets them up close.

Xavier sat, in his cage, leaning against it's bars. He glared out at the humans in the store, it didn't really matter anyways, very few even approached his cage. He watched one particular human, speaking with the leopard-hybrid. "Hey. I noticed you seemed, well sad," Well, thank you Captain Obvious. Do you have any other genius observations for us? Like, I don't know, the grass is green? It's hot out today? There are alot of people in here? Xavier thought to himself, mocking the guy, continuing to watch him. Although Xavier had only arrived a week ago, he had yet to learn anyone's name. And he had yet to smile. He wore a practically permenant scowl on his face, glaring at everyone who enterred the store.

She looked at the chocolate with pure joy. Makeing sure she grabbed them all. She then proceeded to eat three of them at the same time and the rest in her pocket for safe keeping.

She looked at the boy walk away, shrugging she shifted her body around and ate the remaining candy one by one. She thought the boy was nice for giving her candy.....Taking another sip of water. She wondered why he took such interest in her and reasoned it really didn't mater. She then swinged her tail side to side and unwrapped and ate another piece.

Tommy laughed, then pulled out another piece of chocolate and pushed it in between the bars to her. He then pulled out two pieces and reached over to place them in front of the arctic-fox hybrid, smiling. "I didn't forget about you. Hold on, please." He turned his body back to the leopard-hybrid, smiling. "So, I can tell you're a leopard. Those are some cool cats, if I may say so. I'm Tommy, by the way. You are?" She seemed to be able to converse with him. He would have to teach Foxy-he decided to call her that until he found out her name-either how to speak English or show her how to communicate with each other.

Jan nodded. "Thank you very much for the information, it really helps me out." He looked into his wallet just to see he had exactly brought 300 dollars. He momentarily glanced back at the cage where Maimu was. "Can I really promise her a good life? What if she ends up disliking my house more than this place?....But then again maybe the exact opposite will happen." Jan now focused his attention on the clerk. "I think I will adopt her...But first let me see what she thinks." She moved back towards the cage and crouched down in front of it. "Hello Maimu..." For a split second he looked down before quickly looking back at her. "Tell me, have you made your choice?"

"I am called Miya." she replied, reddening at the laid back boy, unsure what to think of the human who speaks so casually to half-breeds like them. Either way she took the compliment gratefully before rolling onto her back with her feet in the air, watching her world progress upside down. Today seemed like a fair day, much like the former but just different enough to make her smile for once. Maybe one day in her life she will find a place she would never want to leave. The Leopard cat began dozing off in her current position, short black hair laying messily around her face, dreaming of her future master.

She scooted closer to the front of her cage when the man came back. She heard the clerk talk to him about her. She leaned in sniffing. She nodded her ears moving slightly and her tail swaying on the bottom of the cage. "No more cages?" She asked him quietly with an excited look.

Tommy smiled, nodding his head. "Miya, huh? Cool name for a cool cat. So, Miya. Mind if I ask some questions?" He rolled another piece of chocolate over to Foxy, then looking back at Miya. Leopard's actually were his favorite type of feline, as foxes were his favorite canine. He crossed his leg's in front of him, frowning. "First, though." He reached forward and grabbed the lock. He unlocked the cage and opened it up, so she could get out. He smiled. "No person deserves to be trapped in a cage like that. Very inhumane."

The Leopard Cat twitched her large black ears, listening to his voice while her eyes were shut "Un...I don't mind...Mr. Tommy..." she replied quietly, swishing her tail back and forth against the back of the cage. She stretched her body, in content across the floor of the cage, imagining the silly human boy as her master. It was an entertaining idea that she tossed around in her mind, an idea the tickled her ears as she thought about it.

She pick up the candys.Biting into one candy...... She looked at the boy realeseing the other hybrid. Surprised at his actions, she layed down and finished the piece in hand. She reached for another.... She wondered why he was letting her out..... She wasn't sure if that was against the rules or something.....but she shrugged off the thought and enjoyed another piece of candy. She wished she could get out of the cage as we'll. She placed the other half of the chocolate in her mouth.

(I don't know why but trying to make eating candy interesting is kinda hard.....)

For what seemed like a millisecond Jan actually smiled before he went back to his calm looking state. "No more cages." He stood up and signaled at the clerk. "Excuse me Miss, I would like to adopt Maimu." He took out his wallet and approached the clerk yet again, ready to pay. "If somebody told me a few weeks ago that I would be doing this I would have probably not believed him...I wonder what made me change my mind."

Rory's ears picked up all the conversations bouncing around the pet store. Then he heard the words 'I would like to adopt Maimu.' and he jumped up. His wings flattened and he frowned, "Lucky her..." He sighed and sat back down crossing his legs. "I guess she deserved it...she has been here longer than me." And in a quiet whisper Rory said, "I wish you the best of luck with your master, Maimu."

(Sorry, Ako. :( )

Tommy watched Miya's tail swish on the floor. He looked over at Foxy, then back to Miya. "So, first. Which do you prefer? Open space like a field or a small, condensed place like a tiny room? Also, what do you think of being treated as a human rather than a hybrid? Sorry if that last one was rude or not." He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. Maybe, if he could, he would adopt both Foxy and Miya. His parent's couldn't get mad at him for that. Bringing them home with him was better than leaving them in a crazy, cramped pet store stuck in cages.
