Realistic or Modern Neighbors- RP here!

"Yeah I'm quite sorry about that," She said in a apolgetic but awkwed like tone, her neighbor seemed nice she thought. The dark haired girl finished off the rest of her plate putting her napkin on top of it putting the paper plate into a trash can right next to their table, taking her phone out in the process typing down to ask someone for either a recipe or to know where they got the food from. I guess I'll tell him parts of why I'm here the young girl thought, thinking about what parts to say before speaking. "Well something went wrong with my family and ex in my home town so I bailed in my car to see where I end up. Then I found out some rather interesting but rather scary things ... " she paused looking down at her belly, " So I ended up staying here. What about you?"

Loren listened to her story, sensing that it wasn't the full truth. But it really wasn't any of his business to ask, so he just decided he wouldn't pry any further. As to how he had ended up here, that was a much more difficult question to answer. There had been a series of events and he didn't want to go into detail, in case he bored her. So, Loren summarised:

"Well, I moved to the city a few years back because I was hoping to be more successful in the music business. That didn't really work out, so I've given up for now. I'm working at some godawful call centre just to patch me over for now." Loren shrugged, "This place is convienent enough to live in, even if the residents do seem to change a lot."

Aspen quickly walked around the cash register. She had to help a few teens get their desired band t shirts and other times she would have to kick some obnoxious teens out of the store since they were just messing around and agitating other customers. Quickly moving back behind the cash register she sighed and yawned. She just wanted to go home and sleep. Aspen didn't think that she could make it today, doing something else. After a hard days work, she collected her belongings and started driving home. She sighed in content on the way there. "No more worries. I get to go home, relax, and enjoy myself..."she thought to herself. But thats when she started pulling up into her driveway, she noticed that many people were gathering and she could see smoke coming from a barbecue pit. When she finally realized what it was, she sighed irritably and quickly walked into her apartment.

"Dammit! I completely forgot about the damn barbecue thing. Guess that nap withh have to wait." she mumbled and walked upstairs to her room. She started taking a show and in about 30 minutes she was out. Getting ready, she quickly walked outside and awkwardly started walking towards the area.

Riley who was still running away ran around a corner and straight into Aspen taking them both to the ground. "oww.... owie" Riley said rubbing her head where it had made contact with the pavement "are you okay Ms? I'm so sorry about running into you..." Riley's hair was now drenched in gutter water and she had just a bit on her face. she knelt down and helps Aspen up

Julian always liked being around confident people. Since he wasn't exactly a social butterfly most people assumed he was shy, which wasn't the case. Honestly shy people exhausted him. He understood being nervous, he had his own anxieties, but watching them fumble all over themselves just got irritating after a few minutes. He was plenty confident but rarely felt like performing that confidence in the way most people did. But this was better than going back to sleep so he laughed, drawing patterns in the condensation on his soda can. "You ever think there might be a reason people run away from you? But she does seem a bit high strung." He shrugged, pulling a flask from his jacket pocket and pouring a liberal amount into his drink. "I'm Julian, by the way. You can call me Jules if you want." He took a sip of his drink before offering the flask to the blonde. "Want some? I hate being the only drunk person at a party." More people were starting to show up and Julian knew he'd at least need a buzz to stick around much longer.

@Iskolde

Krys shook her head at Julian's offer and shrugged at the question about their being a reason for people running away. "Nah, I'm good. And I don't know about the whole running away thing." She slid down in her seat and sighed, "Man, moving is stressful. I'm dead." She closed her eyes before opening them again and staring up a the clouds rolling across the sky. "My name's Krystin. Friends call me Krys, enemies call me ass." She smirked.

   A car parks in the apartments lot. Out pops Jake Roman, holding a duffel bag and a coffee. Jake locks up his car and makes his way into the apartment complex. He reaches the room with a number 8 on it. Jake fumbles with the keys until he finally gets the door open.

  "Honey! I'm home!" Jake laughs to himself. "Ha! No one's here, that's why it's funny!"

   Jake drops the duffel bag on the floor near the door. He takes a swig of his coffee and looks around the room. The place was pretty messy. Half drank soda cans left on tables. Different articles of clothing scattered throughout the apartment. Jake went to the bathroom and took a shower. He sang his wrestling character's theme song loudly as he washes off. Jake exited the bathroom and put on some clothes. He checked his watch.

  "It's about time for that barbecue right? Meeting some new people is just what I need around here. It's way too boring out here."

  Jake exited his apartment and made his way to where the barbecue was taking place. Jake shuffled his way around 2 women who seemed to had a fall, one drenched. He entered the barbecue and looked around the room. The place seemed a bit dead, but Jake shrugged it off. Free food is free food. Jake made his way over and filled his plate with various meats and only some veggies to balance it out.

Adam dragged himself out of his apartment with a tired sigh.  It had been a long day at school for him, and he'd almost thrown up in the cadaver lab. Was he coming down with something? No. The apartment was clean, and he'd taken a shower and a nap as soon as he got home. He had a test the day after tomorrow. I should be studying, he chastised himself.

But he didn't turn back, instead shutting the door and locking it. Rebecca had a key, she could let herself in when she came back. And besides, he needed to meet with a few more people. The barbecue could probably help him with that. He hated feeling out of place in social gatherings, and hoped that going to the barbecue could change that.

After what seemed like an eternity, he reached the place. The smell of cooked meat hit his nose, and he smiled. It was making him hungry. He took a pair of chicken legs, and a few pork ribs, and set them on a plate. He noticed a tall, muscular guy standing nearby, also filling his plate. Adam took a deep breath. In the past, he had been afraid of guys like this- they tended to beat him up and steal his lunch money. But maybe this one was different. And besides, this was as good an opportunity to socialize as it got. He took another deep breath.

"Hey," he began. I hope I didn't sound like an awkward nutjob.

@Gamer

   Jake kept stacking meats upon meats. He was starving after a tough match.

 Jake jumped at the sudden voice next to him. Jake hadn't even noticed the tired looking man walk up to the food area.

  "Hey, what's up? This barbecue seems a bit dead, but hey free food! The name's Jake, Jake Roman!" he replied.

Jake offered a handshake to the other man. He was glad someone approached him first. Jake sometimes comes on a bit too strong. Getting to meet people would make his stay at this complex, much more entertaining.

 Blake sat there quietly as Loren spoke listening  "Jeez, how bad is it working in a call center I've seen a few peoples stories online but never knew any one who worked at one? And how often does one move frome this complex?" she questioned curiously. Her hand reaching for her phone to check what time it was, placing it back on the table once finished.

Luna

Luna had already finished up at the highschool and pulled up to her apartment building. She noticed all the people around and realized there was a barbecue she had completely forgotten about. Luna smiled and hopped out of her  truck. The colorful girl waltzed over and waving and smiling at several people.

Exchanging a few hellos, howdys, and flirty winks, she made her way across the area to the food table. Luna casually picked up a single carrot and bit it slowly, eyeing several conversations going on around her. Her eyes landed on two men talking and she sent a flirtatious wink their way before picking up another carrot and walking away. The young woman sat on a nearby chair and tried to decide who to speak too, but didn't want to interrupt any current conversations.

When Rebecca reached the apartment, she was surprised to find Adam not there. He was usually home by the time she got back and didn't he mention something about a test? Either way, she was pretty tired. She'd just got back from South Korea the night before and while that was always fun, the long flight back left her terribly jet lagged. The only reason she was awake was the time difference. Well at least it hadn't taken long to settle the paperwork this time. Rebecca yawned as she collapsed lazily onto the couch. Pulling out her phone, she scrolled through her messages and social media. Waiiit. What day is it?

"Shit," she muttered under her breath, vaguely remembering seeing a notice about a barbecue before she left on her trip. Was that today? Probably. Mournfully, she got up from the couch and headed to her bedroom to get changed. Twenty minutes later and she was heading down to the ground floor, absently scrolling through her phone. She tucked it away when she reached the venue, hearing the low murmur of conversation and the delicious smell of barbecue reminded her that she barely ate anything for lunch. Passing by Adam on the way to the food table, she gave him a small wave and a smile, nodding at the guy he was talking to. She didn't want to interrupt, so she stacked up a plate of food full of meat and a grudging two pieces of vegetable after much deliberation.

Meandering through the crowd, she spotted a free seat at a table and headed over. "Mind if I sit here?" She asked the girl with brightly coloured hair in the opposite seat.

Luna

Luna looked up at the sudden new arrival and grinned.

"It's all yours darlin, I'm Luna."

She stuck out a hand, her long slender fingers extended towards the unfamiliar  girl for a handshake. Luna eyed the girls appearance before giving herself a seal of approval. This is someone she might get along with.

"So you just move here too?"

@Skryx

Rebecca smiled back, settling in the chair and setting down her food before shaking her hand. "Rebecca. And no, I've been here for quite a while. But I travel a lot so..." she gave a little shrug, taking a bite out a piece of chicken. "What about you? Why'd you move here?" This girl seemed friendly enough. Perhaps it wasn't so bad to get a few new faces around the apartment. She did miss a couple of the old tenants even though she wasn't around so much.

@Jasil

Adam took Jake's outstretched hand and shook it. Jake's grip was strong, and he hoped his own hand didn't feel like a wet fish in comparison. "I'm Adam Pryce," he replied evenly. "And yeah, free food. I like free food."

On the inside, Adam was celebrating. He was actually able to go up to someone and talk to them! And they didn't reject him! He felt as though he'd passed every single test in the semester with flying colors. He spotted Rebecca as she came in, and returned the smile. He was going to ask her about her trip when they came back.

He turned back to Jake. "There are a few more people now," he said, hoping he didn't stutter. "And how was your day?"

He then picked up one of his chicken legs, and took a bite out of it. It tasted quite good.

Marcus Howler:

Marcus had just arrived at the new building for his apartment. He parked his Jeep in one of the open spots and got out. Marcus grabbduffle bag out from the back and walked towards the building. He kept walking until he saw a girl knock another girl over. Marcus then dropped his bag and went to see if they were both okay. "Hey are you alright?"

Nana ending up unpacking 3 of her boxes instead of 1. Which took a lot longer then she thought. "Jeez if it took me this long to unpack three I can't even imagine how long it will take to unpack the others." She sighed and look at the time. "Guess I'll head down to the barbeque. Their should be people there by now. She stood up and stretched out her arms then she went into her room brushed her hair and put it into 2 pigtails. She didn't bother putting any shoes on since she was still in the apartment building so she just walked around barefooted. She had on her glasses a black and white striped tank top and a black skirt. Once she made it to the barbeque she took a look around. "Awesome people are here! Hopefully this will turn out to be fun." She looked around trying to decide what to do. "Well I am hungry." She grabbed a plate and went over to grab some food. While heading over she noticed two guys standing in her way. "Excuse me." She said smiling. She then grabbed some meat and vegetables. After she grabbed some she noticed one of the guys she had walked passed had a lot of meat piled up. "Not a big veggie eater?" She asked. "Hi." She smiled and said both to the guys.

Luna

Lunas smile faltered for just a split second, and then she was smiling away again.

"Well my micro sized town just couldn't handle me anymore, so I needed somewhere I could branch out on my own."

Luna nudged Rebecca with a playful smile  and finished off her small carrot.

"Hey you're a nice girl so I gotta ask this before you freak out. Do you like snakes? Or are you scared of them?"

@Skryx

   Jake smiled as he shook the other man's hand. He was glad to get acquainted with someone so easily. Jake grabbed more meats and noticed a girl wink at them. Jake wondered who the wink was for, Jake, Adam, or maybe both?

  Adam mentioned more people flooding the room, and Jake looked around. There were indeed more people than when Jake first entered. Adam asked him about his day, to which Jake smiled. "My day was pretty rough. This guy potato'd me at work today. That's why I got this bruise." Jake pointed to his left cheek, which had a purple bruise resting on it. Jake ate some of the meat, appreciating the flavor. Jake came to the sudden realization that this man probably doesn't know what he's talking about.

  "Oh I'm a wrestler. A potato is when a guy hits you with real impact. Anyways, boss paid me extra for it, so not a bad day. How was yours?" Jake asked, interested in what Adam did.

 Jake turned at the sound of a feminine voice. She made a remark about the low amount of veggies on his plate. Jake laughed. "Ha! No not really, my mom always gave me flak for  that"

"Oh, I don't know. Working there isn't as bad as people make it out to be; it's just boring as shit. People don't like you calling them, sometimes they yell at you. But money is money, I guess." Loren said. Obviously, a call centre had never been his first choice of job but it was mindnumbingly easy and he hadn't been fired from it yet. Therefore, that made it a pretty solid job for now.

"You'd be surprised how many people have been moving out recently." He added, in answer to her second question, "No idea why. It's like the building is cursed or something. There aren't many long term residents around now."

Before Aspen could even react, she felt a huge smack against her body and then she was on the cement. Lovely. Another shower for sure, she thought to herself. With a sigh, she took the hand that was offered to her and she wiped herself off. "Don't worry about it. Its fine. A little gutter water never killed anybody," she told the girl and managed the best smile that she could. She didn't want the other girl to feel bad about what she did. Aspen knew that it was an accident. Her attention turned to a rather fit guy that asked if she was okay. All she did was nod again. "Yeah perfectly fine." she told him and looked over at the other girl. "Are you okay?" she asked, while wiping her jeans clean. She still was going to take a shower and change into different clothes, but it was a habit of hers. Especially when she got dirty like this.
