~ Naruto: Light in the Darkness ~ Soyokaze, a fine cafe for those passing through the land of Rivers, a popular spot for many a traveling ninja, and to those travelers with nowhere to call, it is home. Many missing nin now live here, and we continue life. We are called Tsumi. I, too, was once labeled as a rogue. Life isn't over though. Sure it is hard, but it is worth continuing. Come to Soyokaze, I will give you purpose! I don't care what they said you did, or what you actually did, you still have worth. Your potential is worth shaping. Your dreams may change, but never lose them.
I, too, have a dream, and I need your help to accomplish it. Together, we will go stronger. Together, we will survive. Together, we will thrive.

~ Soyokaze ~
Soyokaze is a cafe that is a popular stop for many ninja passing through as it is the only restaurant in a 50 mile radius.
It is the home base for the players. It is much larger than it appears, as below the cafe is a rock cavern where the residents actually live. The rock below is sturdy and has an interesting property of flowing with chakra, making it so it naturally hides any sensory techniques used on it, allowing anyone to train to their heart's content. The cave system is fairly large, and mapping it has proven to be difficult. A D-rank mission for simple pay is to help expand the map.
Most people live down in the cave, rooms being wherever is claimed, mostly marked off with a sheet with the ninja's name on it. This sheet is often used as a funeral veil as well.
The cafe itself is useful for gathering information. The only way Soyokaze can survive is with missions, but fear of literally every village (see missing nin) makes getting them difficult. Occasionally, Kyogen receives a few requests, but most of the time, missions are obtained via eavesdropping and undercutting the competition.
~ Tsumi ~
The group known as Tsumi are generally hated by the villages for stealing secrets and undercutting missions for profit. Thankfully, no village has found their home yet. When on missions, members of Tsumi wear half masks that cover the top of their faces.
Missions for Tsumi are dangerous as a general rule. Even the most peaceful mission has to compete with major villages.
Tsumi has a few rules, mostly housekeeping, but the most important rule is don’t ask. Whatever someone’s past is, it’s their business. If someone wants to open up, that is up to them. If someone wishes to discard their last name or call themselves something else, that is also fine.
~ Kyogen Wa~
Kyogen is a well known S-ranked missing nin from the Hidden Mist Village (about the same level of infamy as Orochimaru). He's known as a master of blending nin, ken, and genjutsu together in a single style. He was labeled a missing nin after having murdered the Mizukage over a team dispute as a Jounin. He is known to appear throughout the land, and rescue running missing nin. He often leaves for 'scouting' and returns with several young ninja, and occasionally a mission request or two. He repeatedly runs himself ragged and often the first thing he does upon returning to Soyokaze is pass out.

Welcome to Naruto: Light in the Darkness! This is an AU Naruto Rp about a bunch of young missing nin who come together to survive. They form the front of a cafe call Soyokaze where they gather information to take.
And this is where your story begins. Now, all the characters in this roleplay should be young, but old enough to have left their villages, anywhere between 14 - 20. A bit older than most Naruto RPs, but we'll all be starting chuunin.
Submitting Characters
We expect two things from everyone:
A reminder this is an AU RP. Naruto, Pain, Madara, etc don't exist. The villages were founded, and are mostly the same as in the story, just with different kage. You have a lot of room to work with your backstory.

- A writing sample of your character running away from their village. Do this before you do anything else. We want to know your backstory, how you ended up on the run, and how you got away.
- If the above is good, send us the CS. We think it’ll make it more interesting this way.

Rules:
- We expect about three paragraphs of decent grammar once or twice a week.
- To the above, we are running this as an advanced RP. We expect a fair bit out, but this is only to make it fun for everyone involved. Advanced RP just means decent grammar, and three paragraphs that build a scene and progress characters.
- Burning House Rule - If your character gets kicked out, you leave, or they are inactive, we have control over what happens to your character. If we feel lazy, the default answer is they died in a fire.
- Work with the GMs. We want to have your characters grow, and we want to see development. Have a plan. Work with us on the plan. We want to see your characters succeed, it’s more interesting.
- If you’re unsure where to go, talk to us. We can always help brainstorm ideas. But we can’t help if you won’t talk to us.
- No OOC drama.
- Characters are limited to a maximum of 3 B rank jutsu, and can have a reasonable amount of C rank jutsu (just don’t have like a hundred and we’re fine).
- Be an idiot and your character will get hurt

Stats explained[/CENTER]
[LEFT][B]Ninjutsu -[/B]how well versed you are in ninjutsu. This could be anything, elemental jutsu, seals, medical jutsu. Just try to pick a specialty here. Certain ninjutsu can belong to Awareness and Seals and not here.
[B]Taijutsu - [/B]how well versed you are in Taijutsu, how well you throw and take a punch. This includes any close quarter weapons, like kenjutsu. Remember, Stamina is also important lest you become a one-hit wonder.
[B]Genjutsu -[/B]how well you can cast, and break out of genjutsu.
[B]Tool/Seals - [/B]How well you use ninja tools, and how powerful yours are. Shurikenjutsu is included here, as well as the use of explosive tags. Trapmaking, also here. Pretty much anything that isn't close quarter is probably here. Also includes seals.
[B]Awareness -[/B] How well one can perceive the world around them, and how well they can sneak about like a sneaky sneak. Also good for noticing genjutsu if just relying on stats.
