Never claimed to be the best, just been around heroes enough to watch them work. Happy to give a few pointers.
Roku

Rank: Haganenoha - Sensei

Description: An old war veteran, Roku has only recently been made Haganenoha, and he claims it's only due to the gap left behind from other more experienced samurai fading away to obscurity. In truth, since being asked to teach by an old family friend, Roku took his training to the next level, and has been putting his body through hell as to not disappoint. He describes himself as a bit of a coward, always the first to suggest a retreat, but always the one to cover said retreat. If there's anything he fears, it's letting others down.

Old family friend of the Tone family. {Open to anyone else to know an older samurai.}

Infamy: In the battle of the Three Wolves, the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist ambushed a patrol Roku was part of, when the squad leader was slain, he organized a retreat, and fended off the seven with a display of swordsmenship, and plain dirty tricks until the injured were away, before disappearing himself. While he was hardly a match for any of them, his delaying tactics earned him a promotion.

Nadeshiko Toyotomi
Everyone get along now~ Bad kids go to timeout~
Nadeshiko

SHINIGAKUREJONINROOUGH_1.png

Rank: Haganenoha

Description: In a modest little village in the Land of Iron there's a house where a kind young woman teaches refugee children letters, numbers and a few other odds and ends. The door to this house is open to anyone who wants to learn and donations from some of the local farmers ensure the children always get at least one solid meal as well. The woman who runs this little school, a certain Nadeshiko Toyotomi has grown to become something of a pillar of the local community, so they were disheartened to learn that their favourite school teacher was unearthing a weapon from her past best left buried and leaving to join the war effort. This isn't the path Nadeshiko would have chosen, but duty is never ones choice and in any case the thought of children marching off to war without even a proper teacher to give them a fighting chance is too sad to bear.

Infamy: There's a ghost story people like to tell in the Land of Iron. It's a good one, about a an upstanding clan of samurai betrayed by their supposed allies, slaughtered to the last except for a young heiress who was abducted so that the clan's lands could be seized through a sham marriage. When the marriage had been recorded, the poor bride had her throat slit and her body buried with the rest of her murdered clan mates.

But of course, this is a ghost story, so the bride did not stay dead for long. For the next five years, the samurai clans involved in the betrayal of the Toyotomi clan were terrorised by a vengeful spirit, an onryo in a blood stained marriage kimono wielding a naginata. It didn't matter that the conspirators were skilled samurai all, it didn't matter how many mercenaries they hired, the onryo hunted down and slaughtered them all, one by one. By the fifth year the story of the bloody bride was on everybody's lips and the few remaining conspirators were growing desperate. For the the first time since their night of treachery, the conspirators gathered together in one place, meeting at the estate of the lead instigator. Thiss was a trap of course, sure that the bride would be unable to resist all her targets in one place, the conspirators forsook their samurai pride and hired a renowned force of shinobi to trap and kill this vengeful spirit.

What followed next could hardly be called a battle, it was a slaughter but not the kind the conspirators had intended. The bride cut through shinobi and samurai alike without distinction, she was struck multiple times, amounting to what should have been fatal wounds but sheer rage and hatred seemed to preserve her long enough to cut down everyone who had earned her ire. By midnight, the estate was inhabited only by the dead, whether they be onryo or the corpses of her enemies.

The bloodstained bride was never heard from again. Investigators dispatched to the scene of the massacre by the land or iron did notice a a trail of blood leading away into the woods around the property but no body was ever recovered. In the cold light of day a more rational explanation for the whole gory tale was put together by the government investigators. There was never any vengeful spirit, just a murderer to careless to kill; an angry young woman skilled in the traditional naginatahutsu the Toyotomi clan had been renowned for and a gang of conspirators too paranoid and distrustful of each other to coordinate a proper counter attack. The so called Onryo must have died of her wounds somewhere in the forest she staggered away into.

With a more logical explanation at hand the whole incident was put to rest and the story of the bloodstained bride gradually faded from the front of people's minds, even if was never quite forgotten. One investigator did note that there is a small village not too far from where the bride's last massacre occurred, but it was ruled impossible that someone with the kind of injuries she was supposed to have sustained could have made it all the way there on foot. In any case the villagers, when interviewed, had never even heard of the bloodstained bride, let alone seen such a fearsome figure.

Stats:
Signature Weapon: Red Moon Crescent
A naginata with a black shaft and a blood red blade. This weapon once had a different name and appearance but over the course of the bloodstained bride's rampage its chakra reactive metal slowly absorbed trace amounts of yin chakra that dyed its blade red. Now imbalanced and chaotic, the blade seeks to bring itself into harmony by ripping yang chakra from its victims with each blow that strikes true, leeching vitality and strength with each attack. However the blade is too yin charged to actually absorb this enemy and it leaks uselessly into the air, the weapon's hunger will never be sated.

Yukari Hyuuga Satou

Skin_Loading_Screen_Blood_Moon_Akali.jpg
Can't say I ever considered myself the sensei type. But since we're here, let's raise some hell.
Yukari

Rank: Haganenoha - Sensei

Description: Brash, short-tempered, and seemingly with a rebellious streak a mile wide, you wouldn't guess she was once the heiress to one of the most powerful clans in the Land of Fire. Yukari tends to be outspoken against the injustices of the world, especially the way her clan would treat members of the branch family. It wasn't long before this extended to the way jinchuuriki were treated as well. It was rumors of the Land of Iron offering sanctuary to fleeing Jinchuuriki and weary shinobi alike that drew her there, agreeing to teach the samurai ninjutsu in exchange for the new home. Though the face she hopes to see in the crowds never appeared.

Even with her nature as a troublemaker, Yukari cares for her new charges and frequently worries whether or not she'll be a good enough teacher for them. Fiercely protective, she'll put herself in harm's way without a second thought regardless of any injuries she might already have.

Infamy: Not long after reclaiming her birthright through a duel, Yukari found herself framed for the disappearance of the Leaf's Jinchuuriki, a close friend of hers. Branded a criminal, she fled the village in search of answers. Her escape was far from peaceful, however. Pursued by hunter nin at seemingly every turn, several new statues decorate the forests of the Land of Fire.

SpecializationName: Gentle Fist
Score: Agi + Per
Description: The Gentle Fist is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Hyūga clan. It inflicts internal damage by attacking the body's Chakra Pathway System, subsequently injuring organs which are closely intertwined with the area of the network which has been struck. To do this, the user surgically injects a certain amount of their own chakra into the opponent's chakra pathway system, causing damage to surrounding organs due to their proximity to the chakra circulatory system. Even the slightest tap can cause severe internal damage, hence the name "gentle" fist.

Name: Senjutsu
Score: Per + Stm
Description: Senjutsu is a specialized field of jutsu that involves the use of natural energy. Senjutsu practitioners, known as sages, learn to draw natural energy outside their bodies, blending it with their own chakra to create senjutsu chakra. This chakra adds a new dimension of power to the user's techniques, while also allowing for the use of techniques that would not otherwise be possible.

Kaizo Shima
My body won't fail until my spirit does, and my spirit won't fail as long as I am lord over a single soul in the Land of Iron
Kaizo

1684729745001.png

Rank: Taishou

Description: Lord of the Land of Iron, Kaizo's young age {30's} often has his leadership questioned, but his sheer violence and iron will keeps any detractors a reasonable distance. It has been 10 years since he took over and the war with the ninja began, the adoption of the Jinchuuriki leading to the former Taisho's death. Despite that, Kaizo only became more open to refugees, almost as if in defiance.

He is known as dangerous when he graces to the battlefield, not due to his inherit skill, but her sheer tenacity. Some know him as Kaizo, the Immortal Steel due to how resilent to injury he is. He's been burned by fire, impaled, covered in arrows, and taken a bijuu bomb to the face. However, every time the man gets back up.

Some have theorized he stores chakra in his armor that regenerates his body, and that advanced soul jutsu keeps his soul safe within a tag within the armor while his body reconstructs. As long as a constant supply of blood lands on his armor, it leeches the innate chakra within, literally 'eating it', and keeping Kaizo prestine. Naturally, it's just a theory, as none can seem to replicate his technique, or his 'tenacity'.

He has a softspot for Mokunoha, and in his rare free time, likes to observe training. He's even been known to join in, and laughingly take hits during a spar. His tendency to pretend to die and bad acting, however, have earned him a reputations as a troublemaker for Haganenoha actually trying to teach their students...

Lady Chie

Chie
1685904681248.png

Rank: Haneganoha - Jinchuuriki of the 7 tailed beast

Description: Some call Chie the cause of all of the Land of Iron's woes, others an honored guest put to work. She is the first refugee to spark outrage, hosting the 7 tailed beast, barely alive when she made it to the Land of Iron. However, since being taken in, she was the progenitor of teaching the samurai ninjutsu to help them hold off much of the incoming threats.

She generally these days is in charge of setting up large scale ninjutsu for the Hanamachi, such as the barrier around the village, or researching enemy forces and finding counters to 'invincible' techniques. If an enemy has given anyone trouble, she is more than happy to offer a helping hand.

Her role has forced her to become versatile, able to mimic most techniques given enough time, but her true specialty is sound based detection skills and sound based ninjutsu.

Aoba Urashima

36226-812543409.png

Rank: Haneganoha

Description: The current head of the Urashima clan albeit mostly by virtue of being one of the few adult members remaining Aoba's attitude appears to be one of relaxed good humour though this is mostly a front maintained for the combined purpose of appearing disarming to his Samurai hosts, putting on a brave face for the various orphans of his clan under his care and to keep himself from cracking under the pressure of the role that has fallen to him.

Infamy: Once the Urashima were a respected clan of Kirigakure famed for their Coral Release, some likened it to the legendary Wood Release of the First Hokage while others speculated of a connection with the powers of the Sanbi. Regardless of their fame or more likely because of it they fell victim to the 'Bloodly Mist's' oppression and eventual attempts to purge bloodlines of Kekkai Genkai and attempted to flee before it was too late.

After being hounded across most of the country shortly before crossing into the relative safety of neutral territory the remaining clan members were ambushed by an overwhelming force requiring almost all of the adult shinobi to remain behind to delay their pursuers while Aoba was entrusted with leading the youngsters away to eventual sanctuary in the Land of Iron.

Ōkami Ishii

Hm? Fight? Me? Ke—ha~! Don't go blamin' me for whatever happens to ya' after this, then...
Swordsaint

Rank: Haganenoha — Ronin

Description: A bastard, honourless sword driven by the promise of a good payday— a fearsome figure to some; someone that precedes the reputation he's been given as a headtaker; and nothing but a drunkard with a mean mouth to others. It really depends on the day, maybe the season, really.

Ishii's demeanor is as blunt as he is formidable. Manners— or the lack thereof— sharper than his blade, with a tendency of running his mouth without filter, no matter who he's talking to. He's known to hold no regard for plesantries or formalities, his disrespect towards the samurai code is clear, almost as infamous as his swordplay. The damned Taishou— hell, even the Gods themselves could be standing right in front of him, yet Ishii would not bow. Constant, almost tangible airs of arrogance, never missing the beat to belittle with cutting remarks and biting sarcasm.

He follows his own path, lives by his own rules, and respects only strength and skill.

Beneath the brusque, aloof exterior lies a swordsman of unparalleled skill, one to match the title. His movements swift, precise, brutal. Each strike rivals the rage of a storm. Brutish power, but with an artist's flair. Every battle is a one-way display, every opponent a new canvas, a new dance.

He's found a comfortable source of income as a mercenary, a ronin, thoroughly enjoying the spoils of his genius.

Infamy:
There was once a tale sung by old folk, a tale from back when. Back when the honorable Samurai were yet to refashion themselves to the scummy ways of the Ninja, back when fools walked a path of sharp-iced steel and iron-blood; there was one man above every sword. One man who, with nay a mere swish of his blade, could split the weeping heavens apart and make the bloated clouds bleed rain. A young, pale-haired wolf amidst the lowly crowd of mangey mutts. Fools clashed their swords together; the wolf leapt with a heavenly step.

Back when, this man was known as a Swordsaint. One, and only one, undefeated amidst the fools that clanged their swords together in a vals of death.

A fairytale among the giddier, more wishful of the swordsmen— at the time, perhaps. What is known from back when, is that there was a Wolf that fit the description at the time. Pale, ruffled hair of a wild animal. Blood red eyes. Undefeated by all the swords that’d dared to challenge him.

This Wolf settled down one day, loosened the fist wrapped around his sword; two children were born. Pale haired, eyes dark and red as the crimson that twinkled in the evening gloam.

One child was raised with the grace of their mother, gentle and kind, yet he treaded the same path of steel his father had back when— his sword was uncaring, colder than the harshest winter wind. A tempered, exalted blade. One that was born to settle down some day, after the blood had dried up on its edge.

The other child, the older one, was raised by different steel. By the taste of the iron-blood that gathered inside his mouth; the same place where the word “Father.” would die and rot until he spoke of it no more. Yet the words of the Wolf he would never forget — “A sword is cruel; a sword is brutal— you are a sword.”

And the child grew up to be just that.

After a while there was a recent tale sung by newer folk, one of pale wolves and an honorless sword-for-hire.

At the young age of 14, Ishii abandoned his father’s roof with and sought out to walk the old path of steel, nothing to his name but a torn Bokken— worn wood and harsh splinters. He was driven by an ill determination, a dream of overwhelming strength and power, and ventured as a wandering vagabond into every dojo he could find. Rampaging through each and every challenger in constant battles to the death, Ishii soon became a lone wolf at the top.

An unsightly massacre of split bodies in his wake, completely unilateral. It was the strength he’d been looking for his whole life, the power he so desperately craved.

One above every other sword, bathed in blood and glorified in steel.

The only timed he’d come to know the taste of defeat was when his hubris had led him back home, to clash swords with his own blood. It was none other than his own brother, Ōkami Ichiro, the one that sword that would remind him of his father’s wrath.

A battle of two pale wolves, one that would end up in Ishii having his father’s blade driven into his core.

The skies were weeping that day, steel clanged and broke apart stray raindrops.

They’d share a glance every split second, a blink— becoming fewer with every clash. And for each brief moment of pause, Ishii saw something he'd never seen spark in his brother's eye before.

A feeling of dread pressed against his core, cold sweat washed down his back— Ishii didn't have the eye to catch the blade gliding across his skin, trailing a line of fire over his chest. The world stood still for two wolves. And the skies were rended apart by Ichiro’s blade. One fateful swing.

Ishii was frozen, staring off at the bastard sun peeking through the rainclouds

There was that spark in Ichiro's eyes again, then he felt the thrust of the sword jammed all the way to the hilt on his abdomen.

It wasn't rage that filled Ichiro's eyes at that moment. It was...

"Why...? Why, brother...?"

Sadness.

“Yer’ such a crybaby, aren’tya…?”

Years passed after that; a set of elite names would catch wind of the undefeated Swordsaint that terrorized the land of iron. Names that would more often than not pay a pretty penny to have such a sword at their service—business was and is still booming; moreso with the newest war rolling thunder into their lands.

From then on, the Swordsaint has been drifting where the money beckons him to.

Relationship to characters: The one (and only) infamous Swordsaint of the Land of Iron; Ōkami Itto's loving and caring uncle (very wholesome)

Description: A subform of the Kenjutsu practice. 'Nitōken-ho', to solve an issue with two different approaches, to perform two things simultaneously. A style of swordplay derived from handling a weapon in each hand. A Honzashi, a long sword for the dextrous hand, and a Wakizashi, a short sword for the other. Ishii's style of dual-wielding has been perfected beyond any other, allowing him to mindlessly use the Katana in his left hand on sheer force of instinct, as though it were an extention of his own nerves. This translates into his sword snapping at the nearest source of danger while he focuses on his right hand, often times blocking opponents without even having to look at them in the first place. His stance is bizarre, with his left hand hanging limp at his side and the other at the ready— people often claiming that his left hand has a life of its own.

Specialization 2Name: 天上の剣 - Lit. "Heavenly Sword."
Score:
Agility + Intelligence
Description: The absolute peak of the One-Handed Kenjutsu practices. Developed and created by an old, forgotten blade, a pale Wolf. A style only fit for a Swordsaint, repurposed by Ōkami Ishii to be enhanced with ominous Yin chakra. It is said that the sword that is wielded properly with this style becomes an instrument of death, a flash of cold steel that wraps and embraces the opponent with thousands of cuts in all directions.

Isuzu Suzuki, 5th Mizukage, Hidden Viper

1704831347182.jpeg

* No, I haven't played FFXIV, no clue on original FC's character.

Rank: Mizukage

Description: Known especially for her variation of Steam Release: Infusion, Isuzu prefers to load her pipe with various drugs, and disperse them across the field, sewing confusion and paralytics as pink mists swirls. Isuzu herself, is fond of a drug she calls, 'Song Bird's Dream', a rather potent stimulus that has to be administered in precise amounts. However, it increases chakra flow to the brain, increasing mental faculty. Due to this, Isuzu is both perpetually spaced out, and far ahead of most of the other kage in plans for her village. She's known as a weaker kage, but tends to fight by filling the battlefield with various mind altering drugs, spread in the air via her steam release. A popular saying is "Dealing with the Viper is dealing with madness itself."

She came to power in the last year, after, during a potent skirmish with the Leaf, the former Mizukage had a moment of weakness, and was struck down. Some rumors blame the presence of Isuzu's drug on the battlefield altering his state, something Isuzu vehemently denies. Such a scenerio was the most infamous, but not the first time a comrade of hers had disappeared, earning her the title of 'Hidden Viper'. Such a title has earned her several detractors, calling her a traitor to the village, and far too passive to be the Mizukage. Most call it a miracle she ever made it to her station, but the number of her detractors seems to decrease every year.

Where as others in the village call for a more aggressive stance on the war, after seeing the Hidden Leaf's failure, Isuzu is content to watch from the sidelines. She hardly even helps out the Cloud, her chief ally, only supplying favors on conditions of 'a game of Shogi via mail', something the Raikage only begrudgely plays.

Those that aren't familiar with her have a hard time taking her seriously. Those who know her, however, are absolutely terrified of the woman.

Relationship to characters: Antagonist to much of the RP
Enkai's Aunt.
