The weight of tradition
“Are you really going to open that exception for me? You really know how to make a guy feel special” - he said in a slightly teasing tone when ( MisoraUni ) she mentioned the pace he could practice teleporting with her - “I do appreciate it, though. And you can be sure it won’t take that long for me to ask for another ride” - the young aristocrat said, trying to sound as sincere as he could. After saying it, he observed Alirah’s mannerism, his eyes getting a bit caught up in the movement her fingers were doing, twirling her hair - “Is she being coy? Wait, no, that must be my imagination” - Charles blinked quite a few times, clearly thinking he was imagining things, focusing once again in her star-shaped pupils - “Mmmm, I see. So what you are saying is that there is no need to hug whoever you are teleporting, but you did it so to make it safer… and you needed to make it safer because you chose to teleport to the next to the light pole, in the air, instead of the ground” - as his ‘confirmation’ continued, he raised his left eyebrow more and more, his right index and hand were slightly raised up, as his finger made circular motions.
Maybe she knew where this was going, maybe she thought he was going to have a kind of angry outburst as soon as he found out the truth of it. Laughter, however, was what the purple-haired girl heard from him. It was light-hearted, the kind that someone gives when they are having fun - “I don’t think I have ever said this to anyone, but… thanks for hugging. o-ow..” - Charles chose to end with that clearly fake complain, rubbing and squeezing the back of his neck with his right hand. And, with that, ( Absollover77 ) Azuza caught up with and chastised them for not warning her what they were going to do. The young aristocrat gave a large step sideways, away from Alirah, making a movement with his hands as if ‘introducing’ her as the sole culprit of the teleportation, letting the purple-haired girl take the flak from the worried silver-furred fox girl. While he clearly understood why the poor girl was angry and worried, he couldn't help but watch their exchange with a smirk, chuckling quite a bit. The truth, however, is that they really needed to hurry - “And explore it we shall!” - he rushed after Alirah after the tapping of his shoulder, hoping to catch up with Azuza and reach the dorms as fast as possible.
