Veril remained in the basement while his other daughter came to join the others. He made no noise while in the basement either, so that no one would get worried. Veril came up after he smelled the food being ready. He blinked and eyed the food. "....This is not your mother's cooking.... Is it.... Artorias?" He spoke slowly and softly. Veril looked down at his son, his expression and mere presence extremely dark now. It seemed like a mixture of pure anger and cold heartedness. Veril continued to just stare at his son, waiting for him to answer. "......"

@Artorias

Artorias looked up at Veril, "Did I displease you father, is the food bad." Artorias once again hid all his emotions but he felt as if he dissapointed his father. "I'm sorry father." Artorias rinsed of his plate and put it in the dishwasher and headed to his room.

Once he got to his room he pulled out a book and began to read, he took Insperation from the book and then drew in his art book adding to the world in detail.

@The Master

Veril let his son walk off. He simply scoffed and went to the backyard patio, slamming the screen door shut, cracking it badly. Veril didn't want just food, he wanted his wife's cooking. He was sentimental like that and it really got to him that his son charm spoke his own mother. Not only was it disrespectful but it was extremely inappropriate to do. All in all, Veril was down right furious with the child. He believed the kid never thought things through.Veril didn't think he thought about how his actions effected others.

Kassandra merely smiled at the mother. She didn't really see her as her own mom yet, and she was still learning to trust the family. She nodded at her statement about the morning greeting and slowly walked to the dining room and took a seat. Ezra was there as well, and then Iris herself when she took a seat as well and Artorias began to cook. He had an impeccable memory, that was for sure, as he portrayed that by starting to make a meal from scratch and without a book like Kassie herself would have done. The spirit didn't really think she could cook anyways, because she was a little bit of a klutz and probably often would confuse basil, parsley, and mint, and that would make for something interesting.

It was only until young Artorias had finished cooking when the father had come out from hiding. The boy had made a delicious, gourmet breakfast, and it smelled wonderful. Veril asked his son about who had cooked this morning, his voice and expression vile and virulent with hate. Kassandra tried her best not to look, her hands balling into fists as her body began to shake: two tell-tale signs of when the girl was scared/surprised/uncomfortable/nervous/anxious with something. If she were to speak now, she would sound like a nervous wreck, stuttering and shaking as if she had seen a bloody crime scene.

Artorias responded with no emotions, as he fled the scene after washing his plate. He felt disappointment in his self, as if he had failed his father for some reason in which Kassandra didn't know why. She merely stared at her food, hands shaking as if she were cold in her lap. As the boy walked off, Veril did as well, storming out of the house and slamming the glass door that led to the patio. The spirit jumped in her seat with a sound similar to a squeak. Yes, she was a nervous wreck, so she held herself, trying not to succumb to being more afraid because of the heavy and heated atmosphere. She kept her eyes on her plate, now losing her appetite. Kassie felt as if the best idea were to be to go to Artorias and sympathize with him, but she couldn't bring herself to even move a muscle. Plus, leaving the table when not finished with your meal would be disrespectful.

"M-Mrs. F-Fantasy? M-M-May I p-please b-be e-excused?" She asked Iris with her incredibly nervous and hesitant stuttering. She wouldn't call the woman mom, or mother, because she didn't quite feel that way about her yet, and the mother was plenty accepting with that already, so that made Kassandra feel better about herself until she could bring herself to call her what she should appropriately. She wasn't sure why she had even asked to be excused, because she probably couldn't even stand on her feet without collapsing from wobbly knees. That would be the appropriate time where Ezra would sympathize with her and help her get to her destination after calming her.

Artorias sat in his room, suppressing his emotions as his drawings slowly became more viscous and satanic, Artorias suppressed his emotions he had grown up always getting his way and weaknesses wasn't gonna get him that, he belived showing emotions was a sign of weakness so instead he drew them turning his beautiful world into a nightmere realm.

He eventually calmed down, and ripped out the demonic drawings once again giving his world its peaceful look. He flipped to the back of his book in it was a drawing of his old parents. "L...let me" Artorias didn't finish the sentence these drawings were his creation they only said what he wanted them to.

His parents were the ones he was with know, ( why was father displeased ) He thought to himself. (It seems I must just be bad a cooking, but I can get better to please father) Without even knowing it he was crying, tears fell into his art book staning the pages. (No suppress them) Artorias bit his lip and held back any more tears. He suppressed his emotions and became the spoiled brat he was.

He walked out of his room and back into the kitchen. "Mother I need new paints will you get some for me, Ohh and there is a new book I need to" Artorias's voice was layered with heavy charm speak.

Iris watched the numerous acts of drama unfold before her eyes. Few moments she was confused, others she was slightly bothered. Watching while her husband overreacted and her sin fled upstairs, Iris blew her breath and stood from her seated position, wrapping her apron around her waist just as her daughter had begun to speak to her. "You may...don't be so nervous sweetheart." Even if she wasn't her birthchild, Iris didn't treat any of them better than the other. She loved them all, and truly gated for any drama. Soon, while doing down the counter, she was once again interrupted. This time, by her son. "Sweetheart, I can it for you without you using any sort of charm in me." Giggling quietly, Iris began untying her apron. "Your father doesn't like to think it works. So, let's keep him at ease, shall we?"

Veril's eyes were closed. He was relaxing slowly, thinking about his children. He overheard the conversation between Iris and Artorias. "I'll let that one slide... For now." He growled quietly to himself. Veril wanted to backhand Iris onto the floor but decided he wouldn't this time. Veril stood there with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. "I know his charm speak does not work with Iris. But it is still rude to attempt it..." Veril thought about striking at Artorias himself to teach the kid a few manners. He took a breath and wiped out the violent thoughts in his head. He needed to be a better father, unlike his own. Veril promised he would do a better job, and that involved being nicer.

Artorias looked at his father and did something unexpected. "I'm sorry to have displeased you father, wiether it be the charm speak or a poor quality meal." He said this with a blank look in his face, but he did mean what he said.

He then looked at Kassandra she looked scared. Artorias walked over to her, do you want to go outside and play. Artorias could tell she wanted out of the family drama, and with her being the only sibling he had any real bond to he wanted to help her.

Kassandra looked down at her untouched meal that Artorias had made for her. He spent his time and energy, even offering to cook and give the mother a rest from doing so, and she wasn't even going to try to eat it. She felt horrible, yet relieved that Iris would let her leave the table. "T-thank y-you." She said back to her as she allowed her do so. She wasn't quite sure what to do with her plate, and she knew that if she had tried to take it over to the counter herself, she would surely drop it and glass would be everywhere and that would be all her fault. And that would probably involve violence from the father and unearthing of her own great hidden power.

Then Artorias came up to her. Kassandra was half-expecting some sort of hurt or disappointment because of her not eating what he had spent time on graciously cooking breakfast for the entire family. She turned to look at him, and couldn't even bring herself to force a smile. She nodded, placing a hand on the tabletop to support herself, and stood to her feet. Veril was quite intimidating, but she would have to not let it bother her for now. Plus, Iris' soft mention about her not needing to be nervous was a little encouraging, so Kassie was able to stand. She then took Artorias' hand and clasped her fingers around his smaller ones. Then she was able to smile as the two of them would then walk outside.

Kassandra glanced at the glass sliding door that led to the patio, a nasty slice across the entire length of the door. She wondered if her healing abilities could mend actual objects, rather than just people. Actually, she wanted to try it, but not right now, not right now when the atmosphere was still quite heavy.

(But isn't Veril still outside? He never mentioned coming back inside, unless the two of them are going outside in the front?)

( I'm assuming Veril walked back in )

Artorias walked outside with Kassandra, "So what do you wanna play sister." Artorias actually smiled showing some slight happiness. "Ohh wait I want to show you something cool ive been getting better at my charm speak." Artorias put his hands on the grass "Bloom" he wishpered softly and flowers sprouted from the grass.

"Cool isn't it, I'm getting so much better at it, don't worry though I won't do it on you. I don't even think it works that we'll on magical beings. On humans though it dose they give me whatever I want. "Haha" Artorias laughed remembering some of the pranks he had been playing on humans recently.

Kassandra followed Artorias outside. Sure, he did seem like some spoiled brat, but he only really used that on the parents, and never with her. That gave her another reason to like him. Once outside, the spirit smiled as all of the pressure from the heavy atmosphere had left from pressing down her chest. She felt like she could now breathe better, move better, just feel better in general. The family had a nice backyard with plenty of nature around, so that was very pleasant. Kassie was brought back to real life as Artorias began to speak to her. He had asked her if she wanted to play with him, and what exactly. She shrugged, while the boy bent down and placed his hands on the soft grass. With his 'charm speak', he fabricated blooming flowers through the tendrils of the grass. It was a pretty nice ability.

"Yes, t-that is r-really c-cool." Kassandra was still recovering from the anxiety from being in the house. It could take from 30 minutes to a couple hours for the girl to calm fully. But, Artorias made her feel almost at ease somehow. "A-And interesting. That c-can be h-helpful in certain situations. I w-would feel b-bad for influencing p-people like that, though." She continued, closing her eyes and taking in a long breath. She removed her hand from the boy's and stretched her arms out at about a 45 degree angle, fingers outstretched. Soon enough, the flowers that he had created snapped from their rooting and began to float at Artorias' eye level, as well as the numerous dropped leaves strewn on the ground from under the trees in the backyard. The left over foliage began to float around the two of them, encircling them and spinning as if blown by a soft wind.

Kassandra slowly opened her eyes, looking at the leaves and petals that spun around the both of them in an even circumference and radius at a gentle two miles per hour. She smiles, a genuine smile, looking down at Artorias. "This is what I've been practicing on."

(I'm kidding because that's how Artorias and I did it. I guess I'll just edit my post to say they went to the front yard.)

Veril went back inside, leaving the back yard patio. He was more gentle with the sliding door this time. He quietly walked through the kitchen to the living room. Veril sat on the couch and began watching TV alone. His mind continued racing as he thought more and more about his adopted children.

Artorias watched as all the flowers and leaves flew around him and danced in the wind, to him it was simply marvelous. "Wow you're talented sister"

Artorias continued to make flowers grow as Kassandras power made them float around until they were buried in piles of flower petals. Artorias laughed something he hasn't done once or at least not out of joy since he had gotten here. This Kassandra girl this sister of his had a way of bringing out the best in him.

Artorias looked around at this point the yard was covered in beutifull flower petals it looked like something he would draw. He took a mental image of the moment so he could draw it later. Then he looked at his sister. "Look at what we can accomplish together, we make a pretty good team." @PlaguedWithInsanity

Veril heard laughter outside in the front yard and noticed it was Artorias'. A smile cracked itself on his lips, but only for a moment. It vanished as quickly as it came. The ring on Veril's finger was one of the few things keeping him calm. He had put an enchantment on it when he and Iris got married. As long as she loved him it would always keep his wrath subdued. He stood and peeked through the small window to see what his kids were doing. Upon looking out the window he saw that they were having a great time and showing off how their powers have improved. Ezra was the only child who actually enjoyed training with Veril. The other two never really even gave him a chance to try to be a good dad. Knowing this made his heart turn even more to stone, forcing him to simply look away. He remained by the window, looking down at the floor though instead of outside. "It's their fault we are distant... They don't try with me. They don't give me any credit or even a second glance!" He thought to himself. Anger burned inside of him until he simply shouted, almost roaring like a very pissed of dragon, going over to the couch and grabbing it. He slammed it against the ground and wall repeatedly in anger until there was just a big mess. Veril panted heavily, his anger seething. The ring kept him from being too bad, but sometimes he would have outbursts.

As Artorias began to sprout out more flowers from the grass, the female spirit couldn't help but laugh with him. The moment was truly enchanting, the two of them surrounded in greens, reds, yellows, purples, oranges, and many other colorful hues. She then rose her hands up higher, fingers pointing up to the sky as the petals and leaves followed, swirling in a spiral-like pillar directly above them. She forced her hands into fists, the floating foliage gently raining down on them like confetti. Kassandra felt overwhelming happiness at such enjoyment from the boy and his own happiness. The kid always seemed so melancholy and sad all the time, so it felt so nice knowing that she was able to bring out the best in him like no no one else could.

"You're really talented as well, Artorias. And of course, you can only ever get better, never worse." She said, giving out some of her good advice. Of course, Kassie was quite the air-head, so she never really was able to abide by her own advice. Then she heard Veril shouting as well as a couple loud noises, like something being slammed against a surface repeatedly. She jumped again, instinctively covering her head and jumping back as well. "H-He's m-mad a-again!" She stuttered, sounding quite afraid, feeling her already-sensitive nerves being shot. Why does he keep doing that!? she thought, feeling that same pressure from before weighing down heavy on her chest. This happened to be the exact reason Kassie didn't try to bond with him: he was always provoked by the smallest thing, and often gets very intimidating and destructive. And with her general nature, the two of them just did not mix.

Artorias's happy tone melted away into the void and was replaced with the emotionless corpse he usually was. "I'll talk to father you stay here were he can't hurt you."

Artorias walked into the house and looked at Veril blankly. "Father please stop." Artorias used no charm speak he just waited for his father to respond. Deep down he was scared worried and wanted to run away into the world his art book could create, but he didn't he just stood there looking at his dad.

@The Master

Iris was dead silent. Even as Veril slammed the couch. She was relieved the children werent around. Well, that was up until Artorias decided to come back and consult his father. Not the wisest decision, and Iris new it firsthand. Gritting her teeth, Iris stood firm, stepping out to block Artorias from his father. "Go back outside sweetheart. Okay? I'll handle it darling, your sister needs you." Carefully shoving him back out the door and locking it behind him. Blowing her breath, Iris turned to face Veril. "Darling....youre making a mess." Slowly, Iris approached the panting man and hugged him from behind, whispering soothing words into his ear. "Its okay...I love you, your daughters love you, and so does your son."

Veril opened his mouth to say something but stopped, not having anything to say. "They don't act like it....." He finally said after a long moment. His body's temperature was in the triple digits, the air around him a little hotter. Veril calmed down slowly, taking a deep breath. He turned his head and looked at Iris, "I know YOU love me. It's why this ring works so well." He smiled at her. Veril continued to stand there while Iris hugged him. "Those two never treated me like their dad. They never think about how what they do effects others. They don't try to talk to me. They always run away whenever they think I might be angry with them." He took another shaky breath. "I'm just... scared...." Veril admitted. It was a pretty big deal to, since Veril basically showed and said he wasn't scared of anything. He had a feeling he would have to tell Iris about his past eventually, and it seemed like now would be best. If she asked that is, and if she didn't then he would keep it to himself.

@Mashiro Shiina

Ezra, who'd fallen asleep some time ago, woke up at the sound of her father banging the couch repeatedly into the ground. The air around them was entirely too hot and without a thought, she pushed freezing cold air throughout the room. She could sense her father's distress quite easily and stood up, watching her mother hug him to calm him down. Artorias was standing near the door and she ushered him back outside towards Kassandra. "Best to leave them for now..." Ezra told them both.

@Artorias @PlaguedWithInsanity

Artorias was shoved back outside, by his mother. He had only one question in mind why did his father have such a temper it scared him. He walked back over to Kassandra his face almost as pail as hers usually is.

"Kassandra dose father worry you at all, he has begun to worry me." Artorias sat still in the grass. "Father also pretty much wreaked the couch, were gonna have to get a new one. I know we should head to the store and get one, mabey a gift like that might lighten the mood."

Iris slowly blew her breath to calm her own racing heart. He was no longer running amuck, but was now admitting his dwelled feelings. With a soft smile accompanied by her cheeks rubbing against his upper back, Iris tightened her grip around his torso, pressing up against him while stepping up on her toes to reach his full ear. "Veril....In order for me to understand fully...I ask one thing of you to do. Please. Will you tell me about your past?" Iris suspected for him to push off her request, or even get angrier. He was right though. The main problem was herself not bringing them all together every few days or so. Thus she couldn't help but blame herself on the inside.
