The Doctor walked to the window. "People think it lasts forever. The ground, the people, the concrete. But it won't, eventually it'll all just disappear. Even the sky." He said. He turned to his companions. To the only ones left in the room.
"My planet's gone." He said. "It burnt like the Earth... It's just rocks and dust... Before it's time." He said.
"Your race?" Peter asked.
"I'm a Time Lord... I'm the last of the time lords." The Doctor said. "There was a war and we lost. I'm all that's left."
