Fantasy Monstrum's Boarding School Reboot!

He mirrored her goodbye with a low bow, hiding the look of relief on his face as she walked away. Again as the gentleman, manners had called for it. He thought that would take much longer, but still it was pleasant. That was a conversation that took about 30 minutes in the span of a few sentences. he could hardly believe it himself, but the clock said so. He learned never to challenge the clock, especially when it came to places like this. Time had a strange way of moving, something he was not accustomed too due to his once immense size. Like gravity stretches time indeed He sung to himself as he walked towards the stairs and out the exit.

He could see them almost immediately, as if frozen in time. The angel, sealed like himself but definitely not to his extent, was looking at the dragon with a sideways glance, almost uncaring while the dragon was obviously, he didn't want to say it, frightened. It was a hatching it seemed, most likely not even an eon old, and dreadfully, tiny. The angel was not as old as most were, a few millennium at best, he reckoned after multiplying the celestial power he could feel. They were children, sent to school out of necessity instead of the true desire to learn. Might as well introduce myself. He thought with a shrug before approaching them, sending as much of his natural strength into the air, a massive wave of energy not meant to harm, simply to make his presence known.

"Salutations, Blessed Messenger (@Cyan) , Lady Dragoness (@Juli Zakstyre )." He called out with a polite tone, yet with the authority of the Primus inter pares. "I am sure your journeys here were met with a lack of misfortune, no?"

"Hm, lessee..." Jack looked at the map. "Well, it's dinnertime soon, so I don't think we should stray that far. Missing dinner on your first day... Now that would be a tragedy.

"How 'bout we just look around the classrooms for now? Could save us a lot of trouble later on."

Kina jumped and turned to Eli. Another dragon, ancient species, a shifter... She relaxed slightly and assumed an air of guarded and polite nonchalance. "It went well enough...." She said, her soft voice washing through the air.

She certainly has the air of a dragon though He thought with a small nod, acknowledging her answer, She was more comfortable it seemed but still guarded. She should be, he has not proven himself friend or foe, but he would not strike her unless she struck first, and if she was scared, she was not stupid.

The angel had not answered, and he truthfully did not recognize him. He must have been young, truly created after he had arrived on the jewel. He could still entertain the dragoness if he did not speak through, still within the bounds of etiquette.

"Good to hear as I assume you were carried by fair winds. As for myself, to fly here would have garnered too much attention so I took the service." He stepped forward, taking her hand brushing his lips against it's dorsal as he gave her a polite bow, "My name is Elythius Ouroboros Draconyx Luneth, pleased to make your acquaintance. You two are?" He made sure to ask both of them as he stood back to his full height and took a step back.

"Sounds alright to me. Let's go." They set off towards the main building, opening the big doors and looking around at the classrooms. "Hm, well there's the classrooms for science and writing... math too, for me... Where'd they say art was for you?" She suddenly trailed off as she looked off and saw a grand set of doors with a small sign reading "Ballroom."

"Oh my gosh. They have a ballroom!?" She turned to Jack. "Can we please go look? Please? I won't take long, I absolutely promise."

Jack shrugged. "Why not? Let's go." He pushed at a door- It was heavier than he'd anticipated, and it seemed to stick halfway through. He pushed at it ineffectually for a few moments, then let out a grunt of frustration and rushed at it full force- only to fall flat on his face as the door swung open smoothly. Awk let out a squawk. Rubbing his sore nose, Jack reached out and gingerly tested the door. No creak. No mysterious sticking. "Huh. weird."

He turned around. Oh, wow.

His footsteps echoed across the smooth wooden floors, which stretched out into a stage. Stalls and chairs flanked the walls. He found himself walking towards the dimly lit stage, like a moth to a flame. He stepped on the elevated floor and turned around. "So this is where the parties are at, huh?" His voice, amplified a hundred times over, echoed in the empty ballroom, full and thunderous. This was a place that could beef up the weediest voice into a mellow baritone. For a moment he wondered what a whole orchestra would sound like in a place like this. Then he wondered what kind of racket a bad violinist could make in here, and shuddered at the thought. "Hey, this is cool."

Orca sighed as she approached the large campus, assuming she was late by now. She had intended to be punctual, but that didn't always work out for her. After Orca had left the house, her mother called her back because she had forgotten to pack a few things. Orca had griped and complained about being sent off to a boarding school, but she knew there was no changing her mom's mind. For whatever reason, the lady thought that this school would be perfect for Orca. This place is called Monstrum's, right? Gee thanks, Mom...I'm so glad you think I'm a monster... Orca thought to herself, rolling her eyes slightly. So maybe she was a little different and had some deeply rooted history, but still- it wasn't like she had asked to be a selkie.

Soon, the girl lost her breath as she stared up at the large, castle-like building. She had never been to a school like this before. Orca wasn't intimidated by much, to be honest, but this place was admittedly a bit creepy. Orca shifted her backpack on her shoulders, wondering for a moment if she even came to the right place. She shrugged and then decided to enter, having seen a few other people milling about who looked like they were also students.

As Orca wandered inside, she was relieved to see some students who didn't look exactly normal...it meant that maybe she wouldn't feel so out of place here either. The girl's gaze then fell upon the note that instructed her to pick up her schedule and map. Indeed, those seemed like important things to do if she wanted to know where she was going. Orca frowned a little, just wanting to put her stuff down somewhere, but she continued down the halls in search of Office B. When Orca found the room, she pushed open the door in hopes that the administrator was still there. "Um, hello...I think I'm in the right place for schedules and maps? Sorry, I just got here."

@NessieAlways

5:00pm//Arriving at School (sorry I'm late)

Mirabel stifled a chuckle after she watched Jack face plant. There was no doubting his enthusiasm, that was for sure- she admired that. But when the door finally opened, any words in her mouth immediately dried up.

The ballroom was huge, gorgeous, and sprawling in its old splendour. The dancing space of the ballroom itself spread out to a huge capacity, shadowed by a beautiful crystal chandelier. The box seats were gilded with wood painted gold, filled with plush velvet seats. The stage at the edge of the ballroom was very large, quite big enough to seat a large orchestra, and lined with gorgeous red curtains that looked brand new. It was as though she had stepped into the exact kind of venue her grandmother would sing in during the 1940's, and the kind her mother was raised in. She felt a little lump grow in her throat as she considered it all, but swallowed it down.

"Wow... it's so beautiful." She heard her voice echo along with Jack's. She suddenly dashed up to the stage and vaulted on to it, testing out the size, the weight, how big it was. "Hey, how crazy would it be if they hosted an actual ball here? You know, dancing, violins, tons of food, am I right?" She smiled and started humming a waltz as she looked around the massive stage. Maybe she could perform there some day. One could dream, anyway....

"I am kina. " she nodded at his manners and blinked, doing her best not to giggle. You could never be too sure about the draconian race, but he seemed nice enough. "It is nice to meet you." Her ear flicked and she smiled a small toothy grin.

Mrs. Baker looked up at Orca who had arrived late, just like she expected. "Oh of course honey, no worries. Here's your schedule. You better hurry on settling in Lunch will begin in 45 minutes." Mrs. Baker handed Orca her schedule and map. She excused herself and headed towards the restrooms.

"Well seeing as dinner is approaching, would you two care to dine with me and another acquaintance of mine? We could get more familiar with each other over a meal, wouldn't you agree?" He asked with a bit of relief in his voice. Okay so the dragoness(@Juli Zakstyre) wasn't too far off from her heritage after all, and hatchlings were always cute no matter the species. She was stiffing a giggle, something that displeased him, yet not enough that he would either show it or call her out on it. Again, he was older and wiser, so he would let the children be children, as it was not a role meant to be worn forever.

The angel(@Cyan) still did not answer. Normally he would be fuming. He had given him the attention he deserved, yet was not given the same in return. To snub a dragon usually ended in a death of one party, and more often than not, it was not the dragon doing the dying. In this particular situation, he had two choices, he could either eat the celestial beings like he does celestial beings for that grievance or have him for dinner. Heh, word play. He refrained from literally shaking that thought out of his head as looked to the sky ever so quickly. It did look like it was almost time for dinner indeed, and he had another appointment to keep. "If you do consent, the both of you, then shall we be off?"

He knew the way to the dinning area, most likely they did too, he would still wait before going ahead. The angel was on his last legs through, one more breech in conduct and he was fair game. He assumed all celestial beings tasted the same, so he was torn between the snack he craved or the respect he deserved as a dragon of his stature.

Haruto remained completely passive as the dragon hatchling tensed into a defensive stance. He had no reason to harm the young creature and simply responded with silence. He was about to take his leave when another student had come upon the scene and introduced himself. He wasn't exactly sure how to respond so remained silent as the two other beings interacted. He could feel the patronizing gaze of the owl watching him from a distance and could feel its glare piercing the right corner of his face. He returned the stare, blue meeting blue. Though to others it would just look as if he was staring off completely into space, he actually having a one sided and very heated conversation with a bird. It wasn't until that he was being addressed again by the same student did he break the connection. He recognized the term for dinner and remembered that it was a daily occurrence for mortals. Haruto slowly nodded his head in response.

(sorry for being unresponsive ^ ^
;)

((Just to let you guys know...even if i'm not posting-since I have an anti social character- Im still following this. I'll make her post at lunch time =D ))

"Yeah..." He touched the wooden floor of the stage, feeling it thrum as their voices traveled through it. "Yeah, that would be awesome."

"It could do with some minor touch-ups, though."
He cocked his head- did the echos just stop abruptly? "A little paintwork on those cracks and it would be right as rain." Hmm. He jammed his hands in his pockets, or tried to; his right hand was impeded by Awk, who was buried in birdseed, stuffing his face. There was a squawk of indignation as Jack pulled him out. "Get outta there, greedy-beak. Any more birdseed and you're gonna be a green feathery blimp."

He turned to Mirabel. "Speaking of eating, it's gonna be dinnertime soon. Why don't we visit the dining hall? According to the map it's even bigger than the ballroom- can you imagine that?" He jumped nimbly off the stage. "I wonder what the food is like here?"

"That sounds good to me, I'm starving." Mirabel only just realized how hungry she was. The excitement of a new move, coupled with the nervousness of arriving as well as her brief transformation earlier, had made her ravenous. "Hopefully it's good stuff. Maybe they'll have steak or something..." She hopped off the stage, landing lightly. "Let's go." She set off towards the door, Swift in tow, pushing open the door for the party of four. As they made their way to the dining hall they passed by the patio with its sparkling fountain. "Hey... that looks like a great place to

relax. Think they've got mermaids in the fountain?"
She was joking, but she knew that it was all too likely that a mermaid attended the school.

Kina shifted into her 16 year old girl form. She looked at haruto and then at Eli. "I'll meet you there. I have some things to unpack before lunch." She nodded to the two boys and headed to her room, unzipping her backpack and taking out her clothes, posters, calendar, mythology book, sketchbook, and blanket and pillow. She decorated her room in posters of dragons, gryffons, and a picture of Malibu, her one place on her bucket list to go to. She put her clothes away in her dresser, hung her calendar, and placed her books in her satchel, which she had dragged out of her backpack and placed on her bed. She also took her blanket and pillow and laid them gently on the bed. Kina looked at the scenery from her window. She saw the woods and smiled. She was not usually adventurous, but she loved to explore the woods at night.

Elythius nodded wordlessly to to both of them before the little dragoness disappeared and he was left alone with the angel. He looked at him, wordlessly wondering what the girl meant by lunch, because judging the sky, it was obviously closer to dinner right about now. He sighed, taking a deep breath of air through his nose as he did so. he would have honestly preferred the company of the little dragoness over the stoic angel, who smelled of... bird? He scoured the area. There you are. He thought, looking in the same direction he had been throughout the entire conversation. Now who should I eat for their insolence? He quickly quelled those thoughts as he turned to the angel.

"We should get going then, it's almost time for dinner and we have a certain ghost (@NessieAlways) to get to." He said offhandedly as he made his way back into the school with the angel (@Cyan) in tow.

"Seems a bit small for mermaids. Water nymphs, maybe." He stuck his hand in the sparkling waters, creating a hand-shaped hole. "You think they have any special properties? Like the fountain of youth, the fountain of good fortune, that sorta thing?" Droplets of water dripped from his fingers. "Mmh, not the fountain of visibility, that's for sure."

Mirabel laughed. "I wonder how many different fountains there could be. Right now this just seems like a fountain of water, which will be good for- hey!" She saw Swift lapping water from the edge of the fountain. "Swift, stop it!"

He looked up at her, muzzle dripping. "What? It's really good."

Mirabel shook her head and opened the door to the cafeteria. A delicious smell wafted out from the big room. "Mm... smells good. You ready to grab some food?" She asked Jack, grabbing a tray as she did so.

Orca thanked Mrs. Baker and quickly left to find where she would be living for the upcoming term. The girl looked down briefly at her schedule and frowned slightly. Ugh, we have normal classes like Math and History? And here I had some hope for this place... Orca sighed, a bit disgusted with the boring school subjects. Alchemy was the only class that looked like anything unusual or promising. She only hoped there were some more interesting things to do on campus after classes.

After moving her belongings into her new room, Orca checked the clock. She knew that dinner would start soon, and she didn't want to be late for yet another activity. Orca put a few things in their respective places just so she wouldn't have to unpack them later. Then, she left her room and headed for the dining hall.

As Orca entered through the doors, she fidgeted slightly, tugging at one of her sleeves. The place was much larger than she expected, and the food actually smelled good, unlike most cafeterias she had experienced. However, she felt rather lost. Orca's eyes wandered and scanned the crowds of people, trying to figure out what to do and where to sit after she got food. Though she had never been overly shy, Orca tended to feel awkward in social situations like this. It seemed as if she would just have to pick a table and hope that the people were friendly.

(I apologize for my unexpected absence)

Kina shifted into an orange cat sized dragon, opened the window with her tiny paws and flew out. She headed to the dining hall and flew in the door. She changed back into human form, tugged at her shirt, and walked in, keeping her eyes out of everyone else's.
