Monsters and Myth

Katrina looked at the man. Something about him did seem off. The way he looked at her, the way he spoke. But she just sighed, "Do you happen to have a map? I'm not sure where to get one. And I guess you're right, this city is so large that it's easy to get lost. And the street names don't help...they're all silly names instead of numbers, I can't find a single street unless I stumble onto it." She gave a light chuckle.
Spirit looks at Katrina and then looks at her map. "Well this young lad just showed me how to get to my hotel. Do you want my map?" Spirit held out the map to Katrina.

Katrina blinked and turned towards the new person that spoke to her, a female. As Katrina walked up to her, she had a familiar sense...the feeling of magic. Taken aback for a moment, the dragon girl stopped in her tracks and cleared her throat, "Um, no, that's not necessary if you need it. I can always buy one like this kind gentleman said." She pointed a clawed thumb back, "I think I'll be good, but thank you for the offer."

Having heard him saying she needed money, she frowned as he laughed, "I do have money, sir." She said, a bit irritated at his laughter, "I wouldn't be exploring the place I now live if I didn't."

Spirit gave Katrina a look."I don't need it anymore, here you go, I know where to get more for free no worries!" Spirit handed her the map. "It was nice meeting you." Spirit smiled and looked at the bartender. "Thank you so much!" She walked out and headed towards where the bartender said the hotel would be. She sees the hotel and makes a sound of excitement. She planned on staying in this town for awhile before she moved on.

Kai looked back at him. Around her eyes were glowing red veins that led down to her neck. "Run..." She warned. She hated when this happened. "I said RUN!" She screamed, her figure changing into the stony, skeletal figure and shot a deathly look to the man. In the eyes of the beast, you could only see the screaming souls but in reality... She's dying for help.

Izumi may have been drunk, but sitting at her little table with a raised eyebrow, she could tell what was happening. She downed her newest drink and watched and waited for something to happen. The situation looked pretty drastic now, but she would mind her own business and step in whenever necessary

Bianca felt trouble inside the bar. She walked in from the back door and walked into a random room. She looked around and found a window that if anything she can jump out of and get out quickly from. She peaked her head out to see what was going on in the actual bar to see if it would be enough drama to get a couple things to eat and run out without anyone noticing her.

((Hey, Techno? Just wondering, is there any way to stop Kai?))

Nicolai was off his seat before she'd even begun to speak, stumbling to his feet and casting two quick glances side to side to find where List and Crane were and how quickly he could get to them. List was already edging away. "Calm down. . ." Nicolai urged, old war instincts taking over and making him speak softly and soothingly even as a hand reached cautiously for the gun at the back of his belt. "I'm sure there's a way around this. . ." He'd seen a lot of things in war, but not one of these.

((Yes, Injure her good enough and then she might shift to normal shape))

Her evil eyes squinted at him, making the creepiest clicking noise anyone could ever think of. Kai took a heavy step forward, the darkness giving a chill down everyone's spine. And with another step, two chains formed around her hands. This man wasn't doing anything after she had told him to run, especially when she was just about to send an example to what she'll doto him if he doesn't act soon. Kai shot her eyes to a random customer. She smelt sin in him, as she formed a toothy mouth from under her hood, and she whipped the chains to him ,wrapping him. Aft they were wrapped, his flesh was being eaten away by darkness until a misty figure was left. Kai's toothy mouth opened wide like a snake jaw, and engulfed it. Her eyes then moved back to the man on the floor.

Nicolai was stunned into silence and stillness too long to help the poor man that was . . . what? eaten? He didn't even know what had happened, but the instincts kicked back in and though both Crane and List had ducked away out of sight, self-preservation one of their many strong personality traits he only took three quick steps backward as the thing turned to gave him again. Then he drew his gun, and emptied half the clip into its chest.

Kai noticed the pain in her chest, as a terrible scream of over 1,756 souls screamed with her. Falling to her knees, her body was back to normal, but her shirt was torn from where he had shot her. Kai was certainly passed out from all that rage that had swelled up.

Katrina's eyes were wide as she saw what happened. She barely had time to react. Everything seemed to happen so fast. She was about to step in when the beast was shot and started to form back into the seemingly harmless looking woman that now lay passed out on the ground. Blinking, the Dracorian rubbed her eyes, "Tell me that didn't just happen..." She said nervously, "I mean...I've seen a lot of crazy things...but that just about takes the brownie..." She frowned, "Cake...I mean cake..."

Nicolai's eyes were wide and his expression one of shock and near-panic, but his hands were steady. War had taught him that, and it had also taught him priorities, so the first thing he did was look quickly around the bar. "List? Crane?" Well, the sudden eruption of laughter from the opposite corner of the bar told him where Crane was, and List emerged from behind the counter with a knife in his hand, as there usually was when there was trouble. He had probably gone for the rifle beneath the counter and hadn't needed it once Nicolai had fired.

List swallowed hard, though his expression was mostly blank. "What . . . What is she?"

"I don't know. . ."

Kai seeing images in her head, heard the screaming souls awaken her. Nothing happened, only she breathed quite heavily. Though Kai was completely vulnerable right now. She could be killed, kidnapped, or... Something else. But it seemed that she was watching everyone in the back of her mind. Like she was a pair of eyes acting as a third person.

Bianca saw the creature engulf the man and gasped silently. She shook it off and slowly moved behind everyone and found a ton of food in the backroom."Jackpot." She grabbed anything that she thought wouldnt go bad too quickly and on her down the hallway again with all her clothes full she hears half a clip of s gun being fired. She stopped walking and felt a corn on a cob fall on the floor. She left it there and ran out the door in the back. When she got to the back she hid behind a trash can and started eating some of the food since she was extremely hungry. ((If my grammars. Little off I am sorry but I am on my phone D= ))

Katrina was a bit cautious as she walked up to the girl. She obviously wasn't human, so Katrina knew she had to help somehow, even though the girl did just murder a man...and turn into some sort of hellish monster. The Dracorian sighed and lifted the girl up, showing strength that wouldn't normally be in a girl her age. She lifted the girl up into one of the booths and backed away, turning towards the owners of the bar, "I don't know what you guys wish to do...I don't think going to the hospital will do her any good...I've seen a lot of things, but I've never seen something like that before..."

Izumi slow clapped from her spot and rose up from her chair. She took her many shot glasses to the counter and looked to all of them. "Woohoo, you just stopped a Grim Reaper...for now." She said and then sashayed out of the bar. "I'd be careful if I were you." She said and then with a little wave she left the bar.

The souls in her mind spoke to her. in one large, deep voice. 'Wake up... Kai... Wake your mind. Feed on the very souls that stand before you...' It whispered, as her eyes opened with a large flash of red and returned to the normal state. "What? Wh-... Oh... Oh God..." Kai gasped for air, and clutched her chest as she noticed it was torn. "Aw Sh*t..." She muttered.

"I'm a soldier, not a doctor." Nicolai insisted when the strange young woman Crane had been talking to dragged the girl away and asked what they intended to do. He'd shot her, on reflex and instinct and because she was killing people, but he didn't know how to patch her up and, frankly, wasn't even sure he wanted to.

"We have two options," List said, having taken a seat up on the bar with his feet on a stool, facing most everyone but looking at Nicolai. "Cut our losses and run, or finish it off." Truth be told, he was leaning towards both, but there was only one person Crane or List had ever wanted to kill, especially since killing only made it harder to track the man, and they weren't going to ruin it here. "Either way," he glanced at the others, "we're closing down shop now. Get out."

"Who'd I kill?" She asked, glancing at the surrounding people. "Hey, bartender guy..." She looked at the man, then to the other man who had been talking to her. "Hey... Suspicious guy..." She said again, still freaked at why they were surrounding Kai.

Nicolai's fingers curled tight around his gun, though he kept the barrel pointed towards the ground. "A patron." He said tightly, teeth all but grinding together. "The rest fled." He glanced at where Crane sat just watching silently in the corner, fingers running over the knife in his hand but not doing anything. List was right. Screw the bar - they should just leave and start over somewhere else.

"What is going on?!" She asked rapidly, scared and frightened all at once. What were they going to do to her? No one knew, but only they did.

Katrina watched the girl warily. She was obviously frightened, and didn't have control over the side of her that attacked the man, at least it sure seemed that way. The dragon-girl sighed and looked at the men, "Whatever you plan to do, I will not allow you to kill her." She herself had a part of her that was difficult to control, a more feral side. To kill the girl when she was frightened and not knowing what to do, it would be wrong, "Do you need to go to the hospital?" She asked the woman, despite being younger, the Dracorian sincerely wanted to help.

She looked to another person who inquired such a silly question. "Hell no, I'm not mental..." She had a straight face, then slowly edged away from the men.

Nicolai's grip tightened on the gun but he didn't bring it up to bear, not wanting to provoke whatever she was though if she changed again he would aim for her head rather than her chest. "Don't move." He ordered, like the soldier he was, or just an authority figure. "Confused or not, you just killed a man and threatened everyone else's life. You're going to stay put."

List just shrugged and slid down off the counter, producing a cigarette and lighter from his pockets and lighting up. "I'll call the Paranormals." He said, letting out a long trail of smoke. "Get it all wrapped up nice and tight." They had a good thing going in this place, for however long or short a time they would be titled here before they started hunting again. The 'Paranormals', or the section of police meant specifically for taking care of 'monster' cases, could come down and straighten everything out. The dead man would ensure Nicolai's gunfire would be labeled self defense, especially with his veteran status.
