Monsters and Myth

"Oh, I killed someone... Luckily just one guy...." Kai's eyes scanned the room for dust. "Ooooh, he was right there... EUGH! He's a dusty man..." After she had heard the man next to her didn't move. "I'm surprised you still want me here.... Heh..." She chuckled barely, and just continued sitting fro where she was laid.

((The Count, No offense, but where the heck did you come from? You haven't left a bio on the sign-ups page, nor have you asked to join. Please submit a bio on the sign-ups page, wait for approval to post from me, and don't reply again until you have been approved.))
Just one guy? Every part of Nicolai rebelled at that thought. He'd killed before, of course, being a soldier, but then it had been for self-defense and for protecting those around him and those that the people he killed would hurt. Killing in cold blood wasn't anything he could ever do, nor was it something he could stand others doing.

List hand curled around his arm though, tight enough to leave marks, and though he was expressionless even as he called the police on his cell phone, he gave Nicolai a look that made him at least simmer down a bit. They could just wait for the proper authorities, and then this would be over and the thing would be gone.

Kai sighed. "Uggh... I know you guys are freaking wondering what the hell I am, but, I'm just saying it's not a nice creature..." She looked to the one with his hand on the gun. "Relax, I ain't gonna turn.." She muttered. surely she was scared of these people. Although they might be extremely protective and aggressive.

"I honestly couldn't quite care less what you are." List said, glancing sidelong at her while he was transferred to the correct branch of police. "Soon someone will be here to drag you away in a straight jacket and you won't be around to ruin business anymore - Hello? Yes, I'd like to report a . . ."

As List wandered away to speak to the police, Nicolai kept a close watch, both on the thing he could no longer think of as a defenseless girl, and the fact that Crane was still just sprawled on the floor in the corner. It was one of those days, wasn't it? After this maybe Nicolai would let him drink a little.

Kai moaned. "Suit yourself, I'm going to end up killing those people too if you don't hang up... Well... I might.." She muttered. "And besides! Some sexist gangsters tried to pul a move on me so I beat the crap out of them, and that triggers my Soul Reaper to come into play 20min. later..!" Kai kept complaining.

Nathan whistled a jaunty tune as he his fingers ran over the switches of the fuse box in the dank alleyway. His tone was off key and the rhythm was off but he didn't seem to find as he squinted to read the tiny labels sitting in front of them. Everything seemed to have died down in the happy little bar the fuse box belonged to and for this he was relieved. The chaos had gotten everyone out of the building quicker than anything he could have ever hoped for. Shame that somebody died. Even without seeing a body, he could smell the stench of death in the air, a tingle going down his spine for a moment before he let out a deep breathe and flipped a switch, smiling as he looked up and saw the lights inside the establishment go out along with anything else running on juice. Closing the front of the fuse box and snapping it's lock back on, he reached down to lift his guitar case off the ground and slung it over his shoulder before he walked around to the front of the building and pushed the front door open as if the place was still open and lit, the same broken tune escaping his lips.

Vallan walked aimlessly along the streets. He covered the tattooed part of his neck with his coat and continued to adjust it. Allowing it to be seen would just open himself up to more torture. This was the fifth city he had been to in the last month. Nothing was working our for him so far, something always went wrong. He had no place to go at the present moment and it could be dangerous if he didn't find one soon. He walked along the abandon street, stopping when his nose picked up a familiar scent. 'The smell of death is in the air.' He paid no mind to it, as he continued to walk. He had stopped once more, when he caught sight of the lights going out at a nearby bar. He walked over to the place, footsteps not making a sound. The fact that it was a human bar, was unsettling. There's no telling what was going on within the establishment.

As soon as the lights went out, Nicolai swore and ducked down, pressing his back against the bar. List had wandered around the other side and had taken cover already, and as Nicolai's werewolf eyes adjusted quickly to the dark he saw that Crane had taken shelter out of sight as well. As a man simply strolled in as if nothing was wrong, Nicolai caught the strange, familiar tang of vampire and growled low in his throat. "We're closed," He growled, watching the man move, catching sight of the same tattoo beneath the man's jaw as was on Nicolai's own skin. "State your business." He didn't like this.

"Whoooaa..." Kai gasped, and in the darkness, she made an attempt to flee out of sight. "Go go go!" She whispered quite loud as she tried to make a break for it to the door.

For a moment, Vallan thought the man was addressing him. However, the though was dismissed as he notice the other man in the bar. He was unmistakably a vampire. Vallan could practically feel the man's bloodlust. He adjusted his eyes as he peered into the building. His lack of blood consumption had weakened his vampiric attributes including his presence. He might have appeared as a normal human to most people. As he looked into the darkness, he caught sight of three men, not including the other vampire. Two of them appeared to be normal humans, while the one with the gun carried the scent of another mythical being. The smell of death was invading his nostrils, so he couldn't discern what type of creature he was. As he looked around once more, a female cam into his view. He didn't have time to check anything else, as said female was running straight at him.

Before she could reach the handles, she was knocked down by a taller man whom seemed to be standing in her way, and crawled backwards. "Uhhh...." 'He is awfully pale... kill the being before he kills you!' the dark voice had shouted in her head, as her eyes almost shifted into red orbs. "Oh snap..." She sighed, knowing that thing was coming back soon.

Nathan stopped as his eyes adjusted to the light and he spotted the small group standing in the bar. Lifting his hands in a sign of peace, he says, "Relax. I just need to use the john." A casual breathe through his nose gave him just enough of a scent to get a feel for the occupants. Two humans who were hiding, a werewolf who was the one being so rude to him and-- woah. That's not something you smell every day. He watched the source of the scent, a young woman, make a break for the door though he makes no sign to stop her though he does watch her as she goes. Looking back again, he offers the dark haired man a small smile as he waits for an answer.

Vallan stared at the woman on the floor. She was shorter than him, which was odd. She looked at least five or six years older than him. Something was off about her. She was undoubtedly another mythical creature, a dangerous one at that. He watched as her eyes began to shift color. 'This is not good.' Although there were many other creatures here, he did not want to be found out. He looked closer at the fallen girl and noticed that she seemed to be struggling a bit. With what, he didn't know. He extended a hand for her to take. He wouldn't make any judgements at the moment, so he decided upon helping her up.

Nicolai's grip tightened around his gun, resting next to his knee but pointed at the floor, ready to be brought up to bear at any moment. "There's a gas station down the street," He said, watching the two newcomers warily, and even more warily the creature on the floor that had tried to run. "We're closed." He didn't like this. He had a feeling he was going to have to shoot someone again.

((Why do I have the only humans? xD ))

(Becuz... You chose dat... xD )

Kai stared at the hand he had offered, and took it slowly, pushing herself up and then back at the other people. "Are those psychopaths coming to question me?" She muttered, folding her arms at the thought and huffed. "It's not going to help but I might kill them as well.. Unfortunately..." The screaming souls could almost be heard from her, since they needed at least 2 people to live off of every 3 days.

Vallan was even more wary of the girl when he heard 'kill' That was something he definitely did not approve of. There was no excuse for murder. He took a few steps away from her and turned his attention to the apparent owner of the bar. His voice contained a threatening tone, which Vallan did not want to be on the receiving end of. If the man wanted him to leave, he would go. He had only came to investigate and nothing more.

She noticed the man whom had helped her up move away. "I can never find love.. Or a friend..." She sighed with sorrow and walked out the door with sadness. She didn't care if she lashed out now, all she really cared for was finding someone who would care for her, or be a really great friend. No one was ever there.

"I don't really care what you do to them," List called from the other side of the bar, where he'd hidden himself. "As long as you're not killing in my bar anymore."

"List!" Nicolai hissed at the wood between them, and gave his head a quick, sharp shake.

"Well I don't." And Nicolai knew it was true - List and Crane cared about little but him, themselves, and the man they were hunting. Nicolai just didn't really like it.

Nathan eyes up the man's neck, his body tensing as he made out the series of gears going down his neck in the near dark. Deciding to take advantage of this and how shaken the man was, he takes one step forward and asks, "You mean the gas station run by that human? Come on, you know he wouldn't let someone like us within a hundred yards of his place. He doesn't care about what we've been through." Though he was hardly hiding it before, he grabs his color to show his tattoo in full view as he does his best to ignore the conversation by the door and hoping the werewolf would as well. "Consider it a favor to a brother in arms. What do you say?"

At the movement in his direction, Nicolai snapped his gun up to bear, aimed directly at the man's head and his sight leading down the barrel, eyes narrowed dangerously. Too much was going on. His charges were no longer safe in this place. "A 'brother in arms' would know not to come any closer." He warned. "He would also know when to take orders. I said leave." A soldier knew not to tempt someone holding a gun - especially when the one holding the gun was another soldier. Some may have shared a sort of kindred spirit, but Nicolai wasn't in the war anymore, and even if he may have been inclined to help in any other circumstance, he didn't like what was happening and he didn't like this vampire. Something seemed off about him.

Vallan stared at the firearm and narrowed his eyes. Although he was posing as a human, he would not hesitate to stop the gunshot with what little power he had left. He wasn't that surprised when their tattoos were revealed. They had a certain atmosphere around them, that almost every creature who went to war seemed to have. He adjusted his collar again, making sure the mark wasn't visible.

Nathan gives the man a small frown as he stares down the barrel of the gun. "Don't be such a stiff ass," he says, sounding as if the thought of being shot in the head was an annoyance. He doesn't take a step forward again but he does stretch a bit to buy himself some time to think. As he relaxes again, he puts on a small smile before he points to the two spots the humans are hiding. "Crane and List, right?" he asks innocently, locking eyes with the armed werewolf as he reads his reaction. He might not be quite the dead man just yet.

Nicolai's fingers tightened around the gun, finger almost squeezing further on the trigger, and he glared openly at the man in front of him. "What is your business here?" He growled, demanding answers. It was possible for many to know the twins' names in these parts, as they were almost always at this bar at night, and didn't quite care if anyone knew their names - since they never use their legal names - but Nicolai still didn't like it. He felt like they were being threatened, openly, and they probably were.

Vallan moved over to the pair, as the man began to tighten his finger around the trigger. He calmly rested his hand on the gun. "There's no need for anyone to get hurt." His voice was calm and void of any apparent emotion. He didn't appear like a threathing person, especially since he looked liken a ttenage human, but that was the point. He wasn't a violent person and he didn't like it when unnecessary violence happened around him
