Fandom Mobile Suit Gundam: The Uncertain Century

Crosswire

I have no idea what I'm doing, and it's wonderful.
Name: (First and preferably last, weird name is a stable of Gundam so go wild)

Age: (No toddlers please)

Gender: (Male, Female, est)

Physical Appearance & Attire: (What your character looks like. Be descriptive, go into body type, hair color, skin tone and color, hair style, eye color, notable scars, est. Note: A written description is required, don't just post an image.)

Personality: (Don’t just list out personality traits describe how this person behaves and how they think. Don’t skimp out on personality or your character won’t be cleared.)

Occupation: (What does your character do for a living?)

Goal: (Every character should have some goal or a desire they wish to full fill. A bandit wants to be rich, a farm girl wants to become a warrior, a librarian has the inexplicable urge to fly into space and push asteroids down onto Earth...)

Family Members: (Who are the members of their family and what are their statuses? You don't need to be specific if you don't wish too, especially if you want to allow other characters to make siblings or relatives)

Skills and Talents: (What is skills and capabilities has your character picked up in their life?)

Strengths: (What are their strong points? Both in combat and as an individual)

Weaknesses: (What are your character’s flaws in their lives and on the field of battle?)

Advantage: (An 'Advantage' is something that grants your character an edge. It could be that they have a lot of money to spend on paying workers for excavations, that they're knowledgeable about excavated technology, or maybe they're just simply a natural pilot? Perhaps they're even something that was once known as a Newtype. Characters only get to have one Advantage and by taking an advantage they must take a disadvantage...)

Disadvantage: (A disadvantage is something negative, that hinders your character and balances them. A bandit could be wanted for crimes, a noble girl might have her father trying to forcibly take her back home, or a brilliant fighter could be completely illiterate. A disadvantage needs to be meaningful)

Bio: (What is the story of your character’s life up to this point? What are the things that have shaped and defined who they are as a person? Please don't go short in this department)

Name: Iris Strich

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Physical Appearance & Attire: Iris is a young women around 17 years of age standing 5 foot 7 with short unkempt teal hair, striking glass green colored eyes, and a light but healthy completion thanks to her constant activity outdoors. The girl has a light, but noticeable athletic build with notably toned muscles in her arms, legs, and mid section. She has a small waist and an even smaller bust, being practically flat chested with only an A-cup bust. There are no egregious marks or scars anywhere on her body, though there's plenty of callouses on her hands and scabs on her knees from her rough housing outdoors.

Iris wears a pair of simple cotton undergarments, a worn pair of jeans with the knees given out, a faded cyan color t-shirt, and a battered denim jacket with small holes and crude stitches into it. On her feet are a battered pair of leather boots that have long since been stained from years of use.

Personality: Iris is a girl who is blinded and overwhelmed with an insatiable lust for adventure. Easily bored and emotionally suffocated from the perceived mundanity of her everyday life, Iris is driven to explore the unknown and get involved in anything she deems exciting. On the outside she appears to be an enthusiastic, competitive, and inquisitive girl who sticks her nose where it legitimately doesn't belong and throws herself into dangerous situations without even a second of consideration for dangers or consequences.

Below the surface Iris is a mistrusting and disloyal individual, always second guessing the intent of others and striving to bury her own insecurities under an adrenaline rush or a new mystery to look into.

Occupation: Adventurer! (AKA) Jobless Wanderer

Goal: To become world famous and have a mountain of discoveries under her belt by the time she does so!

Family Members:

  • Neg Strich- Alive (Unfortunately)
  • Suma Strich- Alive (Maybe in a few more years)
  • Older Sister- Alive, location unknown
  • Older Brother- Alive, location unknown

Skills and Talents: Iris is a young girl who prides herself on being physically active and having good practical problem solving capabilities. Trial and error learning is something she excels at and while she's inexperienced in the actual art of combat she's got a solid endurance and quick reflexes that leave her with plenty of potential. The girl also has a knack for exploring and getting into places she really shouldn't, climbing, jumping, and digging come naturally to her thanks to years of playing around as a child.

Strengths: Iris is a decent fighter and someone with enough of a head on their shoulders that they can figure out lots of things given enough time and patience. Her thrill seeking nature gives her a fierce confidence and fearlessness that makes her incredibly difficult to intimidate or physically threaten.

Weaknesses: When it comes to dealing with others Iris always feels vulnerable. She puts on a tough and confident front but when it comes to social situations, especially ones that require tact, proper etiquette and some kind of discipline the girl is always at a loss at what to do. Iris's intense emotions and internal restlessness often drive her to make rash and foolhardy actions, rarely making life decisions based on any kind of planning or careful consideration. Her sometimes selfish nature and mistrust of others makes Iris easier to manipulate and turn against others if the right temptations are presented to her.

Advantage:

-Piloting Talent-

While Iris has never been properly trained to use mobile weapons of any kind, she seems to possess an inherent knack of piloting them. Raw talent alone can't carry her through a fight against an experienced opponent, but it's enough that she can figure how to utilize what she excavates without blowing herself up.

Disadvantage:

-Lesser Runaway Nobility-

Iris comes from a very rich and rather powerful family from across the ocean. While they don't have any direct power in what was once North America they have a lot of wealth and are determined to have their youngest daughter brought back to them so she can carry on the family name regardless of what she wants. They are perfectly willing to pay others and assist in undermining their daughter's 'foolish' personal goals, they're even fine with their daughter being hurt provided she's brought back alive...

Bio:

asleta.jpg

Iris Strich was born across the sea in a place that was once called "Swee-dan" to a family who was considered something close to royalty as they descended from "People of considerable prowess and power". Though she lived in a big house in a rather comfortable and peaceful village, Iris was not a happy child. Her parents were strict individuals who obsessed over discipline and ensuring that their children could and WOULD carry on their family name with grace and power.

Being the youngest she was left playing second fiddle to her older siblings who got more praise and attention from her parents while she mostly got the scorn. However the lack of attention she got offered her more freedom which she used to regularly sneak out of the home and go wandering and exploring outside. Iris spent most of her childhood exploring misty forests, climbing up crumbling rock walls, and sloshing through the mud and the snow purely to see what was up ahead.

Her home life was awful and she came to hate everything her parents intended her to inherit. Things only grew worse as her older siblings, one by one, left to make a name for themselves leaving Iris to be the sole focus of her parents intent. They did their absolute best to try and educate and train her to fit the ideal status of a girl with her social status, but the more they pushed the harder and harder Iris resisted. It got to the point that they were paying people to befriend her solely so they could subtlety, discretely push her towards doing what they wanted.

When Iris found out that her long time friend for nearly 4 years was nothing but a hired lackey of her parents she ran away from home carrying nothing but a backpack full of cheap clothes, canned food, and crude tools. Using some valuables she pilfered from the house on her way out she got passage aboard a ship that intended to sale across the sea to learn if the rumors about the existence of other lands was true. For the first time in ages Iris was overjoyed at the idea of being free from her parents grasp and being able to live her ideal life...

However a fierce storm hit the ship and the crew was forced to abandon ship or drown. Only Iris was able to make it to the life boat and has recently washed up on the shore of a strange new land near with an odd town in the distance.

Name: Hart Mathers

latest

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Physical Appearance & Attire: Hart stands at 5'11'' and wears a heavily modified uniform likely excavated but discarded as a result of its poor quality. He's well-built, although his naturally pale skin isn't indicative at all of his activities. While his eye color is a pale green, his left eye's iris has become an opaque white as a result of damage. The area around this eye is a patch of scar tissue likely caused by an animal mauling, though this is usually hidden under his hair. Most of the time, he wears a stone-faced expression.

Personality: There are marksmen who are friendly and sociable. Hart is not one of these people. He's terse and quiet, whether this is merely his nature or a result of some incident in the past remains to be seen. The quiet intensity that lies within his eye is one that allows him to take lives. With his poker face and one-eyed glare, many are put off by his hostile front.

All of this, however, stems from a crippling shyness that fills him with anxiety. He doesn't avoid people because he wants to, rather its become a natural reaction that comes from his insecurities and upbringing. The circumstances of his youth have also left him rather submissive despite the tough facade he hides behind. The man's nerves of steel allow him to carefully conceal this more vulnerable side, however.

Occupation: Hunter/Excavation Protection

Goal: "...I want to see the world from up there - past the clouds and among the stars. It's just something I've always wanted to do at least once."

Family Members:

  • Tenn Mosiya - Deceased
  • Aria Mathers - Deceased

Skills and Talents: Hart is a skilled marksman and hunter. The time he's spent outdoors have also left him with considerable survival and trapping skills. The hunter knows Bellbroken's terrain like the back of his hand as well. His skills with a knife are decent, though nothing particularly notable. Despite his lack of a formal education, he's very skilled with mathematics and has an above average grasp on history. As an adult, he's taken to reading when he's not out hunting or protecting excavators.

Strengths: Hart is an excellent marksman, and perhaps in another life he would have been a mercenary. When it comes to combat, he's a crafty combatant who relies on setting traps and preparing in advance for hostilities. His grim determination allows him to charge into dangerous situations without a second thought.

Weaknesses: Ultimately, Hart's shyness and submissive nature makes him more of a 'follower' than a leader. He's not someone who can make important decisions - rather, he relies on the judgment of others in order to function. As such, he's someone who can easily be manipulated. And as one might expect, he also possesses terrible social skills.

Advantage:

-Newtype-

Hart is someone who would, at one point in time, be considered the next step in human evolution. He has not fully awakened his Newtype capabilities, however, and at the moment the 'flashes' that Newtypes experience are a very rare occurrence for him. Passively, its always allowed him to hunt better as he's been able to somewhat sense living organisms near him.

Disadvantage:

-Sins of the Father-

Tenn Mosiya was an infamous bandit who terrorized the roads that led to Bellbroken. He's also a really terrible father. The notoriety that his father possessed carried over to Hart. As a result, he's something of a pariah in Bellbroken. While he's allowed to enter the town to sell his game, he's alienated and distrusted by a large majority of the population.

Bio: Hart was born to Aria Mathers, a single mother with a bad reputation in the settlement. Although he never knew the circumstances of his mother's alienation, he managed to live a happy if somewhat lonely childhood with her. The trouble, however, started at the age of 8 when his mother fell ill and died.

At this time, Hart's father was a notorious raider who terrorized Bellbroken's trade routes with a gang of vicious thugs. When the man learned that his old flame had died and that he had a child, he decided to bring Hart into the family business by abducting him. The innocent child was then conditioned into a killer who had murdered his first man at the ripe age of 10.

Like any notable outlaw, Tenn's life came to an end when Bellbroken and other associates organized an operation to bring him to justice. The 'bandit king' died and his gang fractured as his once loyal lieutenants attempted to fill the vacuum. Hart's conditioning and his inability to lead others ultimately forced the associate who had been entrusted with him to abandon him. He couldn't be used as a figurehead to rally the group around nor was he vicious enough to survive this harsh lifestyle. Thus, his life as a bandit ended at 12.

While rightfully distrustful of the young Hart, they ultimately decided that he wasn't a threat to the city's stability and placed him in foster care. This ultimately didn't work out and eventually Hart was given a small amount of money and was kicked out of the house by his neglectful caretaker at the age of 14. He spent the next few years as a freeter and performed odd jobs in the city. His father's notoriety was eventually made known, however, and Hart slowly began to retreat from the city.

These days, Hart lives on the very outskirts of Bellbroken in a decrepit trailer. The game he bags serves as both his sustenance and a limited source of income. His most profitable jobs are ones where he acts as protection during an excavation. The rifle he uses is one that's been illegally bought and his clothes came from a payment from one job he took.

Hart Mathers is accepted. Excellent work Gas, Hart is solid in description's department. Good job balancing his capabilities with his weaknesses, and it's pretty cool how you gave him such a infamous reputation amongst the local population. He'll really spice things up.

Name: Lisbeth "Beth" Marina Woldt.

Age:
Nineteen.

Gender: Female.

Physical Appearance & Attire: Lisbeth is a nineteen year old young adult female. She's quite short, standing at 5'4", and has a thick, curvaceous endomorphic build that doesn't have a whole lot of muscle. Lisbeth's raven hair is quite long and thick with a bow tied directly into her locks near the end and her bangs brushed over her forehead like an arrow. Despite having extremely large, frog-like eyes, her face isn't very expressive and often fairly stonefaced.

Lisbeth wears a whole lot of warm, practical clothing handed down from her sisters and mother that reflect her hard-working, lower-class family. Her most common outfit is a crimson flannel shirt rife with holes beneath a chocolate wool jacket. She wears a pair of denim work shorts and thick, striped thigh-high socks. Her shoes are a pair of ancient, clunky, black steel-toe working boots that once belonged to her father. During work, she adds on a half-apron with the logo of her mother's general store embroidered on and a pair of clunky, massive magnifying goggles for appraisal that usually rest on her head.

Personality: Externally, Lisbeth is a very quiet and mellow sort of person. She doesn't talk a lot nor does she react to a lot of things and she prefers to keep herself like her usual deadpan self. She's pretty polite, if not casually so, out of habit, but she's very bad about tailoring her speech to appease a person's taste. She's not very tactful as a result and does not usually avoid accidentally offending someone when speaking genuinely. She's usually pretty quick to apologize, however.

Though she hides it very well beneath her chill exterior, Beth doesn't deal with emotion very well and talking about her emotions even less than well. She bottles up a lot of her external problems, citing that it's the best for everyone. Beth is aware that she can't do this forever, but it's only a matter of time before she dumps her heart's contents out on someone and she realizes. ...Alas, she doesn't know what to do.

Nobody would suspect it with her small-town charm, but Beth's very adept in influencing others to see things her way and getting them to do what she wants. Though she doesn't enjoy manipulating others, she is aware of her abilities of subterfuge and isn't afraid to utilize them whenever dire or necessary. Likewise, Lisbeth doesn't let herself be influenced by others easily at her father's behest. So whatever she says, does, or thinks is fairly indicative of her genuine self.

Her manner of thinking and manner of speaking are noted to be very, very strange and non-linear in design. While most people think in an A to B to C sort of fashion, Beth jumps from C to B to F to A and often leaves people astounded whenever she vocalizes her ideas or conclusions. Beth uses a lot of strange metaphors and figures of speech as well, as she would be apt to describe herself as The kind of person to grow on you, like she was E. Coli and you're premium grade hamburger.

2d18d0959744d7fe73271b411593f772.jpg

Occupation:
Bellbroken General Store clerk.

Goal: "...I don't really want a whole lot right now. But.. I know I'm finished living on nickels and dimes every week... And I want my mom to be secure again. So that's my goal. At least right now, anyway."

Family Members:

Anjuro Woldt - Father [Deceased.]

Ellie Woldt - Mother [still Alive; Barely Breathing; Praying to a God she don't believe in.]

Chell Gladdin Woldt - Older Sister [Alive.]

Allin Wall Woldt - Older Brother [Alive.]

Missy Cambra Woldt - Older Sister [Alive.]

Elline Agitha Woldt - Younger Sister [Alive.]

Skills and Talents: Beth's a natural negotiator from years of working as a store clerk, so she's very adept in talking people into things they don't want to do or making them see another side of something. Because she deals with a lot of products brought in by local hunters and gatherers, Beth knows a lot about practical science, biology, and history. Beth also deals with a lot of textile products in shop and is very good at sewing and knitting as a result. She does have basic hunting rifle training for protection purposes.

Strengths: Lisbeth's very proficient in matters concerning wit. She's a very quick thinker and relies heavily on her own mind in a fight rather than her muscle, or lack thereof. She has a steady hand and a fairly keen eye from basic rifle training enough to hunt recreationally. Beth's very book smart as well and she knows a lot about field survival and history especially. She really knows a lot about historical excavated tech because of her family's history. But Beth is most effective behind the scenes of a fight rather than directly in it, as her negotiation and charisma from business helps her be very proficient in reading and manipulating a battle in her favor.

Weaknesses: Beth's fatal flaw is that, while she is usually nice, she acts without tact and has difficulty talking genuinely without stepping on a few toes or putting her foot in her mouth. So she doesn't talk honestly with people she doesn't trust absolutely. She has sacrificed her body's needs in pursuit for knowledge, so she isn't particularly built for fighting or high-energy exercise. If she doesn't have time to stop and think in the line of fire or a fist-fight, Beth's essentially useless and better off praying for a miracle.

tumblr_nturh80vJm1uynj3oo1_540.jpg

Advantage:

-Predisposed Mobile Suit Knowledge-

Lisbeth's father, Anjuro, worked as a historian as the family immigrated into Bellbroken from their old home across the sea. He worked heavily on the study of excavated technology in the continent of what was known to be North America and, whenever a breakthrough was made, Beth was among the first people to be relayed the information. So, she ended up absorbing a lot of it into her own life and even began a secret study of ancient technology on her own after his passing.

Disadvantage:

-Just a Poor Girl, From a Poor Family-

Lisbeth's family isn't very rich because of their trans-Atlantic immigration and the expenses involved. In fact, the Woldt family is one of the poorest families residing in Bellbroken with the General Store being their only source of income. As such, Beth doesn't have a lot of resources readily available for her when it comes to excavating her own things or active research into what technology the past once held.

Her impoverished living standards also do impact her relations with those more affluent than she, both in her court and quite possibly their's.

Bio:

Lisbeth Marina Woldt was born across the ocean in a region formerly known as Germany to a middle class family of two kind, small-town sweethearts, Anjuro and Ellie Woldt, and joined the family as their fourth and second youngest child. Her mother was a baker by trade and her father was a historian that worked closely with an initiative dedicated to finding and preserving relics of the previous eras.

A few months after her younger sister's birth, her was cleared to travel across the ocean to expand the institution's reach and increase the chance of locating relics of the past. There, Lisbeth stayed behind with her mother and siblings as they tended to the bakery. Though he wasn't there in person, her father was there in the spirit he bound in the words of his letters. He told them each about the discoveries made there whenever not classified and described in great detail how things functioned in the town of Bellbroken.

When Lisbeth was six, her family earned enough money to immigrate permanently to Bellbroken and chartered a ship to carry them across the sea as soon as they could! The ferry's journey was long and arduous, but a fresh scenery brought only excitement to the Woldts. In two week's time, the family stepped foot in the first of many changes in their lives. The immigration, however, proved to be catastrophic on the Woldt family's way of living, as they were now way, way below the poverty line. Sacrificing what funds they had left, the Woldts opened Bellbroken's General Store and slowly, but surely gained a steady flow of business.

The Woldt's financial situation was very apparent among the locals and with how many hand-me-downs Lisbeth went through, her youth was very rough and the teasing she received from her peers in her schooling years was rough. The inquisitive, bold nature of the young Beth was being slowly shot, and her parents knew it. On one quiet night when she was eleven, her father pulled her aside and gave her a talking to. He told her to never be ashamed of her own things and that what she had or didn't have didn't matter as long as she kept the bright, bold disposition that she always had. It felt like a crock of shit to her, but Beth never forgot his point and she always listened to him out of respect.

When she was fifteen, Anjuro Woldt passed away as the result of an accident in the excavation fields when he fell into a pit and impaled himself on a metal spike belonging to an unknown object in the ground. The funeral was held the following week, but the grief impacted the family for the following month. The passing of her father impacted Ellie Woldt so much that the General Store rarely opened in weeks and, when it did, it was managed by either Lisbeth or her eldest sister. Lisbeth didn't show her grief openly and chose to bottle it up to spare her kin the extra trouble. But everything her father sent or held came into Beth's own possession. Letters, documents, journal entries, diagrams... All his research was now her's.

Though she knew it to be dangerous, Beth starting leaving the house in the dead of night to wander the excavation sites and do as Anjuro once did from that night at sixteen to the present at nineteen. Beth started to dive deep into the field of history and dug her own pits to locate relics of the past. By the light of the day, she served the populace behind the clerk's desk. But by moonlight, she was out in the fields digging for whatever she could find. There hasn't been a whole lot to note in her findings, minus a defective, broken, and harrowing looking green ball.

But she feels a grand discovery in her bones soon.

Lisbeth "Beth" Marina Woldt is ACCEPTED! I'll admit Quiet your application actually made me somewhat upset with myself over how good it was. You obviously put a lot of effort into this and I intend to step up my game to try and match this level of effort and writing ability.

Name: Amadeus Danello “Dane” Arch

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Physical Appearance & Attire: Dane is a light skinned man, so light that he could be considered deathly pale. He is a little bit overweight for his age of twenty-one and height of 5’8’’, not quite pudgy but certainly not active. But one is more likely to notice less his figure and more his brilliant golden eyes. Their shine led to Dane being called a golden child. As he grew up he wished to draw less attention to his eyes, covering them with sunglasses and his shoulder length dark violet hair. He maintains his hair fairly well keeping it only over his eyes and oval ears but not his small nose or thin smile. Dane also hides a burn mark on the right side of his stomach under his clothes.

Dane has been raised wearing dress clothing, usually provided by his family. He can quite often be seen in a fairly nice suit, pants and dress shirt while out and about town or while working. He has several pairs of similar suits and will mix and match throughout the week. He has three pairs of shoes he owns, a nice black dress pair, a pair of beat up blue and white sneakers, and a decent pair of dark brown boots. The only constant in his attire is his signature black hat and blue “hippie” sunglasses.

Personality: At first Dane seems to be a confident guy with always something to say, some info to share, or just rant, but that is a ruse. Dane actually suffers from self concept issues and great anxiety, his behaviour a show for the people around him. Over the years this has led to Dane drawing less attention to himself, such as not showing off his golden eyes. It has been a long battle but he has recently made some headway. He has been forcing himself to get involved with others, trying to play to his strengths such as his knowledge of technology. With his current job he has to deal with people daily, a good opportunity to leave his comfort zone

The one thing that can always make Dane open up is technology. Since he was little Dane felt an affinity with technology, always wanting to learn about advances and talk with like minded individuals about it. He’s always dreamt of encountering lost tech like Mobile Suits, though he is unsure if he would have the courage to pilot one.

Occupation: Repair Man, Tech Consultant, and Tinkerer

Goal: “The future is ahead of us, and I want to be the first one there. So much can be learnt, so much revealed, and I want to know it all!”

Family Members:

Lukas Arch - Father; Councilman in Ravenhill

Sonya Arch - Mother; School Teacher

Nami Arch - Older Sister; Farmer

Othello Vinetti Arch - Younger Brother; Student

Sloane Ozzet - Cousin; Businessman, Owner of Ozzet Repair

Skills and Talents: Dane is knowledgeable in several fields, including basic first aid, simple sciences, and minor auto repair. But his main focus is computers and similar devices, being skilled in both hardware and software. His coding skills are the best you could find in a large area around Bellbroken, and he has learnt repair skills for many common devices. Dane also has a little musical talent, mainly piano, but he mostly keeps that to himself, though he is intrigued by these new things called synthesizers.

Strengths: Dane has spent most of his life learning about computers and is now highly skilled in that field. He can learn new programs and new machines very quickly. This makes him great at his job as he can proficiently learn new repair skills. Dane also has skills in other fields such as medicine and the natural sciences, as he considers himself a renaissance man.

Weaknesses: Dane has issues with how he views himself in relation to other people. Usually he puts up a front of self confidence but it’s a lie. He is trying to do better but strains in prolonged conversations, usually falling back into something he knows well, talking about computers. This makes him come across as either boring and/or awkward. Dane, if ever in combat, might just freeze up from the anxiety of it all. He is unsure if he could be relied on in a life or death scenario. He also isn’t that active and is fairly useless in physical challenges.

Advantage:

- Computer Genius -

Dane has always had a natural affinity for computer tech, an affinity that has been strengthened through his schooling and his tinkering. He can easily learn new related skills, and can figure out how to fix most devices. He also is the most skilled coder in a wide area, being able to rewrite programs or create new ones. Currently he is restrained by the world’s tech level but he is always trying to push forward with new advances, as he is working on building his own super-computer.

Disadvantage:

- Heart Condition -

Dane was born with an unknown issue with his heart. His family was not aware of it until the age of four where a stressful encounter with a wolf led to the condition flaring up. Since then Dane has learnt to avoid super stressful situations. Still it has flared up several times since then. Dane is hoping a doctor invents or finds a way to deal with the condition as he is tired of it affecting what he chooses to do.

Bio: Amadeus Danello was born twenty-one years ago in the town of Ravenhill, the second child of the Arch family. The Arch family had lived in Ravenhill for three generations and were well-liked members of the town’s populous. In fact Amadeus’s father was a town councilman. When Amadeus was born he had his mother’s purple hair, but more surprisingly, he had radiant golden eyes. He was called a golden child. And he was treated as such, receiving much attention, so much so that his older sister Nami got a little jealous.

When Amadeus Danello started to talk he quickly dropped his long name, instead preferring to call himself Dane. Now, Dane, had issues interacting with other kids, mostly being known as that shy kid with the golden eyes. His parents assumed this would get better once he started school. The week before he was to start school his family decided to go on a camping trip. The first night of the trip Dane got up to use the washroom when he encountered a wolf. The stress caused by this fearful experience exasperated a previously unknown heart condition in Dane. He collapsed and his family had to rush him back to town.

Back in Ravenhill the local doctor figured Dane had a heart condition but couldn’t figure out exactly what it was. So Dane was told to avoid highly stressful situations. Later that week he started school, quickly becoming one of the top students. As he progressed through the grades he showed an affinity with computers, namely the only one the school owned. Dane’s mother Sonya, a teacher herself, saw his gift and wanted to nurture it. She had heard of an academy to the north that trained students in the computer sciences for eventual employment in the academy owner Quincy Dubin’s tech business.

Dane jumped at the opportunity as computers was one thing he did get. So starting one spring he travelled several hours north to the academy. The very first day of school he connected with the other students, their love of computers making it easy to talk with them. For the first time Dane felt like he belonged. He loved the academy but he missed his family. So they would exchange letters, Dane keeping up with the going ons of Ravenhill or the news of the birth of his brother, Othello Vinetti.

Toward the end of the school year, the academy’s owner Mr. Dubin was scheduled to give a speech at the school. Dane was excited to meet the man, making sure to get a front row seat. The man was well dressed and well spoken, with an air of confidence, Dane wishing he could be like him. But less than five minutes into the speech a flaming bottle was thrown into the room. The room was immediately engulfed in flames, the students scrambling to get out. Dane began to run, but the shock of all this triggered his heart condition. Within seconds he had passed out.

Dane awoke a while later. He had been pulled out of the building and had suffered burn marks on his right side. He learnt that the academy had been burnt to the ground by an anti-technology group, the owner Mr. Dubin killed in the fire. By the next day Dane was back in Ravenhill. He didn’t bother with going back to school as there wasn’t much they could teach him. He tried looking for work involving computers but news of the anti-technology group made most people shy away from using computers.

After a year of unemployment Dane and his family were visited by his cousin Sloane Ozzet. Dane learnt that Sloane owned a repair company out east that operated out of a few nearby towns. Upon learning about Dane’s skill set Sloane offered him a job as he didn’t have a computer repair man in his company. Viewing this as better than nothing Dane agreed and later that week went with Sloane out east. After a few days they reached the town of Bellbroken where Dane would be working. He met the other two employees and was given a room above the Ozzet Repair Garage. For three and a half years now Dane has lived in Bellbroken, known by most as the town’s resident computer guru.

Physical Appearance & Attire: Ricky is a lean young man in his late teens. However he is not without muscle despite his lean stature, being in shape from keeping up with his work and the occasional fights(and running away from some said fights). His long hair is a dark purple with a blueish hue. It is uneven, because he cuts it himself. With his Cheshire grin and reddish brown eyes, he can look creepy at times.

His skin is lightly tanned, as he has spent a great amount of time outdoors. Not as much as it should be though as he is pretty quick to take shelter in the shade. Ricky has a pretty limited wardrobe, you won't see him in much else because he can't afford much else. He is normally sporting a white and blue jacket with hood. Depending on the weather, his jacket may very well be tied around his waist, leaving only a yellow tank top or some other style of light shirt tucked into his jeans, though they are quite dirty by now. To help control his uneven hair, he keeps the longest of it in a lazy ponytail.

Personality: The first impression Ricky normally makes is that of some rebellious punk. That would not be an unfair judgement. For the most part, Ricky has never been a big fan of conformity. If we were being honest, we could probably say he likes the attention. He isn't anti-social in the least, being loud is just his way. Ricky is quick to greet and quick to grin, and though he is a trouble-maker, he isn't altogether an unpleasant guy.

Ricky may seem lazy sometimes, but it would be more accurate to say he is a little uncaring about things. No, lazy is a bad word, anyone who has met him for thirty minutes knows that he is quite energetic, and tries to tackle everything he does with a fiery passion. Ricky loves being flashy. Quick to make off the cuff jokes and talk big and sometimes even throwing in a few nonsensical quips of made up wisdom. He has an energetic attitude towards life. Ricky isn't all nice side, he does have a temper and has a tendency to be easily worked up. Luckily for most of those situtions, he will cool down as quick as his temper flared up. However he isn't one to fly into a temper at the slightest irritation. He can seem quite unflappable at times, and may often times be more amused in situations where others might be irritated, this is probably due to his habit of being a little spiteful.

Ricky will never be accused of being the sharpest tool in the shed. For the most part, he did not get much beyond a basic education. And regarding that he often skipped chances of learning for the sake of rebellion or fun or helping his grandfather. But it would not be wise to write off Ricky as being stupid, he is naturally clever. Able to deftly understand situations or coming up with creative solutions. He is also quick to make connections and improvise. Though Ricky does not seem very literate, especially given his deplorable manner of speech, it really boils down to him being lazy about it.

However... despite all the relatively lighthearted energy that he seems to possess, underneath all of that, into the recesses of his psyche you will find a darker side... actually I am just kidding. Rickhard is a simple man who wears his heart on his sleeve. What you see is what you get. He can be a bit tiring at times, but for all intents and purposes he is good natured.

Regarding others, he is quick to help his friends, though he isn't very tolerant of depressing moods. He hasn't time for that sort of negativity in his life. He is quite the talker, and sometimes it can be hard to shut him up, especially when he starts hyping himself up.

Occupation:
Scrapyard repairman, excavation.

Goal: To live life to its fullest and without regrets. To reach towards the uncertain vastness of the heights of space and bring back a handful of stars. Memories. Adventure. Friends. Fancy stuff. It doesn't matter. Anything. Everything. To retire, and to be able to look back fondly on how far he had come is his dream. People say life sucks, so to spite it, he will spit in life's eyes and yell "fuckayou!", because whatever the future may be he is dead set on breaking the mold of the mundane and proving that life is what you make it.

Family Members:

Father- Natanial Gustafar : Alive, not around.

Mother - Hannice Rolland : Alive

Grandfather - Gheorgio Rolland : Alive

Skills and Talents: Working in a junkyard has it's advantages, he grew up around a lot scrap and has become quite familiar in working with it. He isn't a master engineer, but he learned how to be a decent repairman. After all, there is no sense in letting all that scrap go to waste. Beyond having a bit of repair work under his belt, a familiarity with a broad spectrum of tools and technology, and self titled witty wordsmith, he doesn't have anything he is truly specialized in. If anything, he is a jack of all trades, and master of none.

Strengths: Rickard, surprisingly, is both cunning and charismatic. He is a hands on learner, and can learn much faster by doing rather than having it be explained to him. He is quite the wily sort, and it will show in both his words and actions. Though not specialized in anything in particular, he is adaptable enough to find his way through most problems he comes across, and this goes hand in hand with his resourceful nature. He will find a way to make due with whatever comes his way... of course this all could be his eternal optimism talking. He is not one to give up hope easily and can push on when things get hard.

Some of what I have already listed can be applied to combat as well. To put it simply, he has good instincts. Rickhard isn't a champion or genius fighter by any means, but he can do alright for himself despite never having any formal training before. With a bit of practice and training, he should be able to learn the ins and outs of piloting a mobile suit in no time. Though not entirely unflappable, he will adjust well enough to what trials are thrown at him. Thankfully his reflexes are keen enough to keep up with his skill in 'winging it'.

Weaknesses: Rickard can be a bit too passionate at times, this often leads to reckless or careless behavior. Part of this is due to his confidence in himself. Keep in mind he is under no delusions that he is great at things, but he sometimes has a bit too much faith that things will work out if he tries hard enough. This can put him into situations where he bites off more than he can chew. He also has a flair for the flashy, even at inopportune times he prefers to do things the fun way. He isn't one to do outright stupid things, but sometimes what sounds like a good idea at a time isn't always the best course of action. Unfortunately 'sounds like a good idea at the time' is his general modus operandi and he doesn't always think things through.

Ricky as stated, is an energetic and talkitive sort, but his words are not always nice ones. He can sometimes have a foul mouth, and doesn't at all mind playing 'poke the bear with a stick', especially those he doesn't like. This can get him into a bit of trouble, as there is rarely a filter between his mind and mouth. He can be annoying, especially to the wrong people, as he doesn't often hold much regard for authority figures. And finally... he has a bad habit of pushing his luck when he probably shouldn't or running away when he thinks things might go south a little too roughly.

Advantage: He is really good at doing that thing where he can make it look like he removes his thumb.

Disadvantage: As I had brought up once already, Rickard is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He isn't stupid by any means, but when it comes to technical language it just goes in one ear and out the other. All the seemingly random letters and numbers that seem to title most mobile suits and weapons and parts, he does not understand. You might as well be speaking a foreign language. You can sometimes lose him by using too big of words to often. Sure he might know how to use an RR-44 ion hyperspanner, but that doesn't mean he knows what it is called. He simply calls it "that welder thing, no not that one, the other one". Needless to say, he doesn't do very well when it comes to reading complex instructions or manuals. Though it might mean risking a mistake or two, he is better off learning through the hands on method.

Bio: (What is the story of your character’s life up to this point? What are the things that have shaped and defined who they are as a person? Please don't go short in this department)

With Ricky being somewhat of a punk, one might naturally expect an unpleasant back story. That is not the case with Ricky. If anything could be called depressing, it would be that Ricky never knew his father, but he wasn't without knowledge of him. Natanial ran off with some nurse even though Hannice was halfway through pregnancy at the time. Natanial and Hannice were never married, but it in no way dissuaded her from wanting to be the mother even if she had to do it alone.

Lucky for Hannice, and for lil' Rickard, she would not be raising him alone. Her father, Gheorgio, stepped in to help however he could, and eventually became what Ricky would know as a father figure. It was not an easy family to support, though. Gheorgio ran a small time scrapyard that took in junk from failed excavations or collected whatever people didn't want, though most of the business seemed to be helping the town fix what was broken. It wasn't the most glorious business, nor greatly needed, in such a small town (at least not until excavation began to become popular).

Rickard did have a flair for adventure though, and it often landed him in trouble. Many times officials drug Ricky back to his grandfather because of some mischievous thing done in the name of 'I dunno'. His grandfather was never upset with him, more so he was amused, and did his best to impart some wisdom on the boy. Ricky never really did anything bad, didn't really hang with the wrong crowd, he liked to be himself. For better or worse.

As the years passed, life got a little easier as more people began to grow interested in excavation. Rickard learned the tricks of the repair trade from Gheorgio, and eventually began helping out as he could, be it helping to clean up scrap and salvage, or helping to repair something. It wasn't a very exciting life, but that never stopped Ricky from having fun with it. Though as his grandfather aged, it became harder for him to keep up with the work, but thankfully Ricky was there to pick up the slack. Often skipping school so he could help out his grandfather. He didn't seem to have much time, so Ricky skipped more classes in effort to make time for for fun when he felt like it.

Ricky did want to make a name for himself, despite the relatively uneventful and mundane life. He didn't know what he wanted, but all the the talk of excavation had really gotten him curious. It was like treasure hunting, in his mind. Knowing that one day he would inevitably return to his dull life, maybe, just maybe, there was something out there for him. Ricky may be a punk, but he did have ambition. Something great was out there, just waiting for him to take it. At the very least, he wanted a story he could tell from behind the counter. So he split his days between helping his grandfather and joining the digsite that was outside of town. His grandfather approved of the idea, and liked the boys ambition, he even helped keep it a secret from his mother, who was highly disapproving of digging up the past. Oh well, some times it was better to ask forgiveness than it was to ask permission. Besides, it wasn't like he had anything better to do... and where most people might think digging was boring... To Rickard, there was an excitement in knowing that anything could be underneath that next shovel full of dirt.
