Midnight Island [Inactive]

Clara watched Frank leave the room and looked at Xavier. "So..how do you plan from hiding the fact that you're helping from the others?" She asked curiously as she stood up to face him. "I'm sure at some point they may find out, do you have some sort of plan to make sure that doesn't happen?" she added to the question.

Sariel couldn't help but laugh slightly, placing her hands behind her, propping herself up, stretching her legs out slightly in front of her. She turned her gaze towards the water, blinking her hazel eyes closed, long, dark eyelashes caressing her cheek, a soft breeze lacing through her light brown hair.

"We won't be getting off this island." She mumbled, her eyes remained closed, pale pink lips tugged down in a tight line.

"There isn't any plan I can think of that will work. I doubt anyone could think of anything. Not even Fr-" she stopped mid sentence at the sound of the cabin door opening and closing. Her eyes fluttered open and she turned her head to see Frank. With a soft 'ch' sound she turned away and lay back in the sandy grass, her hands behind her head, gazing up at the sky.

"I'm sorry you came LiHua."

LiHua watched her carefully, raising an eyebrow to her. "Why apologize Sariel? I cam here upon my own will. It is not like I was forced here." She added, smiling slightly. She leaned back, yawning softly as she turned to look at the water. 'Innocently beautiful' . Without hesitation the girl stretched her arms up, closing her eyes for a moment before she settled. "Do not be so negative. It'll be your downfall." She pointed out before looking over at the trees. "If we cannot find the boat why not craft one or something like that?" She mumbled. "I mean if we are all able to work together it should be easy to come up with something before we die here...or turn."

Sariel exhaled softly turning her head away from LiHua,

"If you went through the things most of us have, or seen even half of what we have, You wouldn't tell me to not be so negative." She informed the girl, her tone emotionless as she peered up at the sky, before fluttering her eyes closed again.

"They won't let us off this island you know, and if we get turned, then we won't be able to leave, unless we want to endanger the lives of our families and people back at home. I'm not being negative, I'm just simply stating the sad truth, LiHua. I hope you can begin to grasp that, because not realizing the truth to the situation we are all in, will be your downfall." She stated, the words slipping from her lips as though she had spoken them a million times.

She could only remain silent. 'Once again, I do not fit in with this group at all. Returning to China would have been an appropriate choice.' However, seconds later she shook her head as she stood to her feet. "I feel bad. I apologize for not being aware of what you have all been through but I cannot change that." She stated, stretching her arms as she glanced over her shoulder at Sariel. "However, I have been taught battle tactics, martial arts and combat from my teachers and one thing I know is that what you are doing is playing into their hand Sariel. You have given up and now you have no escape." She whispered as she shifted the hair from her face. "My only down fall is giving up." She added before shrugging, turning to walk off from the cabin. "I am going for a walk." Despite the fact the Chinese woman seemed calm, it was clear that her eyes held the slightest bit of regret and anger.

Sariel opened her mouth slightly to speak but thought better of it, closing her mouth, she raised her shoulders in a slightly shrug,

"It's not the best idea to go out for a walk alone," The mumbled, but didn't stop her if that's what she wanted to do. She did respect LiHua, but she had only been on the island for an hour or so, if she wanted to discover the dangers for herself, then there wasn't much she could do.

"I wish I had your strength, LiHua, and you're right, I have given up. But only because I know, if I fight back, everyone will get hurt. And I'd rather die then allow that to happen." She mumbled, parting her eyes slightly to look at the girl, offering her a weak smile, before closing her eyes again.

Frank ignored Sariel's noise and stood, unmoving, unwavering. He'd protect her, even if it meant his death. He thought of plans to get off the island, but all of them required leaving her. Killing Darian was a fantasy, leaving without the boat, near impossible. The most realistic way off would be to call for rescue, but that put many lives at risk, and constructing a long range radio would be very difficult. All things considered, they were screwed, but he could not accept that as fact. He had a job to do, and he would see it through.

Sariel sighed before patting a spot on the grass next to her for Frank to sit.

She's much rather him sit beside her then, stand behind her like some sort of statue. She flicked her gaze up at him, arching an eyebrow slightly a few strands of light brown hair framed her pretty face that was smudged with dirt and blood. She wanted nothing more than to take a shower, but she had no idea when the next time Darian and or Felix, would return.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked him, finding he looked like someone who hadn't gotten a wink of sleep in a year, his face just as dirty as hers. Sorrow gripped her heart and she forced herself to look away.

Frank sat next to Sariel,

"Many things, how to get home, promises broken, regrets, the ones I love dearest's safety. I am scared Sariel, for once in my life, I don't know what to do. After all the training, the schooling, I feel helpless as a child." Frank was tired, weary and most of all, worried. "I'm sorry Sariel. I abandoned you for selfish reasons, I broke my promise. I weant on a personal vendetta and you suffered for it, I ask for your forgiveness, but I don't expect it." Frank looked deep into her eyes. "I'll never leave you again, I swear." He meant it this time, she meant more to him than anything.

Clara stood from the couch and walked outside through the back door and sat down. There was a pit there where a bonfire would go. She sighed as she stared at it. "I should have stayed home..." she thought to herself. Clara looked up to the sky that was partly covered by trees. "I can't give up though...I need to gt my friends off...and myself if possible..." She began to just jabber on to herself. Clara almost wanted to go searching for something that could get them off the island, but she knew she would not last 5 minutes with out running into trouble, so she stayed there, sitting. Clara stood up and went closer to the pit and looked down into it. There were old ashes, showing that someone was here before them. "They probably died..." she thought to herself.

LiHua stared, looking around her with a blank expression. Now, LiHua knew all about her bad habit of getting lost but she still stormed off? Okay, well it didn't seem like she stormed off. "I was lost before and now again? This gets old very quickly." She murmured, eye twitching in the annoyance that seemed to radiate of her. Looking around all she saw was trees. Trees, trees and more...well, Trees! "Maybe trees will take my sanity..." She questioned, reaching up to stretch her arms before she looked to the nearest one. With a small sigh she pouted before she grasped a low branch to begin her climb. Eventually, she was just sat on a high branch with nothing to do.

She didn't want to go back yet after all and at least up here her scent was covered by nature.

Lamia paused before she sat down upon the ground, eventually shifting till she was laying down upon the gently swaying grass, red eyes closed. "I am bored." She whispered, black hair hiding her eyes as she frowned. "Do I go after the humans or leave them be." She whispered, her voice coming out in a sing-song manner. After a while she turned to Felix, a frown on her lips. "What are you going to do? Wait until Darian says something or go after them now and get it over with?" While Lamia did not want to hurt them without reason, if it was going to happen it would be better to put them out of their misery...right? To be honest the vampire was conflicted. "I feel bad. Sort of. They did not expect death yet it awaits them with open arms." Quietly she brought her arm up so it covered her eyes.

Sariel turned Frank, she kissed his cheek softly. She didn't know what to say, she wanted to be positive, but nothing about this situation was good in anyway.

"We will do our best to survive. That's the only thing we can do." She replied honestly, her gaze searching his before she layed her head back on the grass,

"I don't need to be protected Frank, it was selfish of me to tell you not to leave me, I understand that now. Just do whatever you need to, if you need to leave, that is fine by me." She mumbled with a weary sigh.

Xavier watched as Sariel and Frank left, then turned and listened to Clara as she talked, probably forgetting he was there in the process. Making sure to make a little noise, he walked over and stood by the fire pit. "Almost fifty years ago or so, I forget. Time doesn't have a hold on us here," he commented on her last statement, then turned his attention to the sky. "I can help you guys figure a way off. I've been here long enough to know what's useful and such, and I don't want that Frank guy on here any longer than he has to be." He smiled a little, trying to joke and lighten the tense mood. "And if Darian or the others find out I'm hanging out with you humans, it should be fine. They think of me as a pacifist, and somewhat emotional when it comes to humans because I'm younger than the rest by a long shot." Pausing, he added, "Well, besides that kid that came with you. Garlic boy. But he doesn't really count."

Clara's thought process was interrupted as she heard Xavier walk by her and speak. She looked over to him with a smile. "I see..." she muttered. "Listen, I really appreciate your willingness to help. I know you've been trying to help and all you've gotten was getting threatened by my friends and no one has actually thanked you." Clara said as she looked back into the fire pit. "So, Thanks. If there is anything I..or maybe the others can do for you in return, just let me know." She said with a smile. Clara had more of a sense of trust in Xavier than what might be out of everyone else. It was true that all he did was try to help, so she didn't really doubt his words. She frowned slightly. "So, your sort of the kid of the group that everyone just sort of passes off, huh?" She asked, looking at Xavier.

Xavier shrugged. "It's ok, I don't really expect them to welcome me with open arms or anything like that. That one girl, Sariel I think, probably wants to see me dead. Can't blame her though." He looked at Clara and smiled a little. "I'm not wanting anything in return, just happy to have someone to talk to. The others are centuries past my time, basically old as Hell and act like they know everything." Looking out into the woods, Xavier laughed lightly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, I guess so. The kid brother of a really screwed up and dysfunctional family."

Clara chuckled. "I'll try to keep them from killing you. If you ever need to chat, I'm pretty open for conversation." She said smiling. Clara also looked out into the forest, as if to expect something showing up there, even though she knew nothing would appear. "Well, as soon as you somehow do something outstanding, you'll probably remain the "kid brother" for a while." She said, looking at him slightly with her eyes.

Xavier laughed quietly, thinking how strange it was for Clara to say she'd stop the other humans from killing him. From every story he could remember from when he was a human, they were taught that vampires were evil, bad creatures of the night. True, some things were false in the stories, like they didn't burn in sunlight. Or that they couldn't enter a house unless invited, but that was just manners. In all of them though, vampires were bad, so a human saying she would defend him was funny. "Thanks for that, and I don't plan on doing anything outstanding. Being the kid brother or whatever is fine by me." He smiled, glancing down at Clara before watching a cloud pass over the sun. "So I'm guessing that the rest of the world has changed a lot, even from when the last group was here. You guys had a better boat, and the other girl said something about a cell service or something like that." He sat down in the grass, deciding to take Clara's offer for a conversation up and try to not think to hard about anything.

Clara smiled. "Yeah, a lot has changed." She said, pulling out her cell phone. "There are phones that you can carry with you and contact anyone anywhere...if you have service...this island does not have any cell towers so...no service." She said, giggling slightly. Clara sat down next to Xavier to she could converse easier with him. "Technology...well, actually everything overall has advanced a lot since the last group. It would take a whole book to describe the new advancements." she said as she looked up to the sky. It was quite amazing what people could do, how they could invent things that was never thought of before. Clara couldn't help but smile. It was amazing, now that she thought back through what she learned through history. "I wouldn't be surprised that in...lets say the next fifty years that we would have little watches that have holograms that pop up." Clara said, laughing a little bit.

Xavier held out his hand and took the phone, turning it over in his hands. "This is so weird looking. And everyone has one of these?" He handed back the phone and scratched his cheek, thinking as he looked off into the sky. "I don't even know what a hologram is, let alone how to put one in a watch," he joked, smiling a little. "Even the boat you guys came on was strange, making a lot less noise than the last group's. I guess I would need a book to catch me up. A very big book if it started from what I knew." He mumbled the last part, gazing off into nothingness and imagining how everything had lead up to cell phones and holograms. Letting out a sigh of frustration after nothing made sense, Xavier ran a hand through his hair. "So since I know a little bit about you and your group, do you wanna know anything about the island or whatnot?" He asked Clara, glancing at her from the corner of his eye.

Clarq chuckled. "Yea, I guess this would be wierd to someone who's never seen it before..." she said as she took the phone back and slipped it into her pocket. She looked around a little before hearing his question. Clara looked up to the sky to try and help her think of something she would want to know.

"So...are there anything around like tunnles or caves that makes it around the island?" She asked, looking to Xavier. If there was, that could help out with an escape plan for her friends. It seemed like the vampires mostly hang out and live in the forest,so of there was some way to get around it,that could help.

Xavier thought for a few seconds, picturing the island in his mind and running over the landscape. "There are some caves in that big hill over there," Xavier said, pointing to a large hill that had fewer trees on it than the forest. "I'm not really sure if they go anywhere, or if they connect. I don't go over there much, and the others stick to the forests and beaches over here and on the other side of the island." Pausing again, he looked up to the sky absentmindedly before adding, "There's also a cliff that drops off into the ocean. It's on the other side of the hill, that we can't see. I've never seen the face of it, so I couldn't tell you if there were caves." Shrugging, he laid back and put his hands under his head and silently wondering why he hadn't taken a good time to explore the rock he was stuck on.

Clara listened carefully. "Ah...okay." was all that escaped her lips. "Thats good to know..."she added quietly. Clara looked around her surroundings a little bit. It certainly looked like a gokd vacation spot,if only they didnt have to watch their backs all of the time. Clara looked down at Xavier. "So...do the vampires here only survive on the clueless humans that come here? How do they get by with no blodd for a long time?" Clara asked. She might as well get to know the other species that live on the island.

Xavier hummed quietly, thinking about his answer before saying, "Yeah, basically. We don't eat animals, the blood isn't the same as humans and makes the stomach hurt." He remembered the first time he had tried drinking the blood from an animal instead of a human, shuddering slightly as he remembered the four days he spent hiding in his tree and wanting to puke his guts out. Acting like nothing happened, he continued. "Vampires don't have to eat like humans, needing a meal everyday or anything. We can go decades without feeding, sometimes more, but it does affect us. We get slower and stuff, and if a vampire doesn't eat for a long time, they either go insane with blood lust or starve. Both ways you end up with a dead vampire 9 times out of 10." He sat up, leaning on his arm for support and picking at the grass.

Frank smiled at Sariel,

"That's just it, your the only one I care to protect, and I want to be with you all the time." He looked into the distance. "I'm sorry I've been acting so weird, it's just that this Germain guy is in my head and I can't get him out. I almost hurt you because of him. But I can suppress him now, you'll be safe." Frank stroked her hair. "And I won't let Darian anywhere near you, I'll tear his head off with my own two hands if necessary." He bent down and kissed her forehead. "No matter what happens, I'll get you off this island, and back home." He laid down and watched the clouds, he needed to enjoy the little things while he could. He held Sariel's hand in his, his smile widened.

Clara nodded as Xavier spoke. "Okay, I understand..." she muttered as she looked out into the distance. "Well, i guess that is all I'll ask of you for now, I dont wanna bother you with a thousand questions." Clara said, giggling slightly. She laid down on the grass and looked up to the sky. It was a pretty nice day with the weather. She yawned slightly. "So...any questions from you or do you just about know everything?" Clara asked Xavier.
