The situation below didn't seem about to get any better. There were more sounds, more smoke, and whatever that thing was that was rustling. What were our teachers doing? Ah, who was I kidding? Obviously they had to agree with that old fart at some level- that a degree of pain was needed and the school of hard knocks was the best school for a hero in training- or they would never have allowed his arrogant behavior. All these screams were probably coming from students falling into traps or getting assaulted by teachers or their aids. The only thing that didn't quite add up about it is why the ruckus seemed to start simultaneously for every group, when some groups had gone way ahead of others and a few (as far as I knew) hadn't even left for their exercise yet.

I had just brushed away Ari's compliment from my mind when a certain familiar voice came to reinforce it.

"Hana?!" I shouted, looking down at the slight opening in the trees below me. Next to Ari whose eyes were still fixed on my red-faced body, stood that old French friend of mine with her mon amies and mon a mons or whatever it was. "What are you... Did you get lost? Wait, are you a replacement?"

The teams changed once before, from when we entered to when we left th Le bus. It wouldn't be odd for them to replace members during the exercise itself. As such, I cleared my throat, recalling that there wasn't a very important detail I couldn't afford to just forget about.

"Let me make it very clear. I am not c-" I wasn't able to finish my sentence. When I wasn't looking, something long and hard slammed right into my stomach, fortunately sideways which distributed the force a little better. Still, it was the sensation of being in a rollercoaster, it suddenly stopping and you finding yourself slammed into that metal bar in front...I imagined. It had been ages since I last was allowed near a rollercoaster.

The falling that followed was much like one as well though. I could feel a force pushing against my back, probably Ari's efforts, but I was already falling with such force I feared she might not be able to make me stop. My stomach was hurting like crazy already, and while my hands grabbed it in agony they were unable to shield my face or arm's from the he branches that cut into me as I fell, fortunately stopped in time to not get turned into the pancake hero.

From beneath the tree line, I could make out just faint traces of the just gigantic bone pile that stood before us. My feet began shaking a little. Was this really still part of our test? Wasn't this a little too insane for a test? Was that thing even really the work of a hero? If it was it'd probably rank #1 in the heroes that look like villains pool, wouldn't it?

"Arietty! Hannah! Are you both alright?" I began attempting to stand, slowly as I still felt the need to keep at least one hand upon my stomach due to the pain. "Do you have any idea who that is? Do we have to fight him...her...them?"

If we did, this was trouble. I was barely able to think right now, too much pain. I didn't have anything resembling proper equipment with me either, not even condensed into me. At most I could try doing something with branches or rocks...but against a giant thing like that, would that really work?

"Do either of you...have a plan?" I inquired.

What?! They had figured him out already? Impossible! Did someone spill the beans or something? Or were these brats just that paranoid? Some heroes they were, jumping at the first chance to attack someone who for all they knew could be a regular civilian like any other!

On top of that, it wouldn't stop! Zip zap zap zip! Xin crin zap! Zip zip fwing! The sound was so loud it was unbearable, but none of these brats could hear it. Hell, they just made even more noise, just because they could. Well, I'd show them. Though Skug Pug's eyes ached, slugs like him could easily swim in mud. Plus, he had a sense that was much more accurate than that.

In a flash, he raised his tentacles and they glowed blue as they pointed at the wolf girl and zip boy, four electrical bolts being shot with needle point precision aimed at their chests. Get hit by one on a limb, you can say goodbye to it for an hour or two. Get hit to it on the chest, you can say goodbye to consciousness... at least.

Next, Slug Pug had to deal with the little pest that grabbed his tail. She probably thought herself oh so clever. "I'll grab the tail, then the bad man that could actually not be bad, but I'm just a child who throws a tantrum at the first scawwy noise, will have a harder time moving". If only her thoughts were actually that self-aware. Maybe then this world would all be a little more self-aware, less noisy. Less dumb.

"Did you, perhaps, imagine that's i wouldn't notice you're there? Or did you think grabbing a stranger was a really good idea for some reason? How...heroic" Slug Pug taunted. A strong electrical current ran across the surface of his body, effectively eletrocuting any in contact with him. Even the grass at his feet burned a bit, turning to ashes before he put out the rest of the fire.

Bang's strike proved rather successful. After he "powered up" while Panko attempted to restore her cameras to functionality, Bang charged at the creature that had bursted into their hiding stop, crushing one of their foreheads which popped like a soap bubble, right as it was sent flying into a nearby wall. Debris exploded in every direction, leaving a shallow crater on the aforementioned wall, and the the dripping liquids that covered it now suggested a lot more heads had bursted with the impact.

At this moment, Bang's hand would have begun to feel stiff. If he observed it, he would have noticed that, in the process of his attack, he'd ended up soaking his own hand in the drool that covered the villain's body. Now, Bang's very skin on his hand would have begun bubbling and and twisting itself and the flesh immediately beneath, forming small heads similar to those of the creature. If he attempted to move his hand, he would find the limb resistant to his commands, though not entirely disbodient- Just very stubborn and painful. Meanwhile the tiny heads would attempt to bite into themselves or the remainder of the arm or hand depending on where they remained positioned. Villain themselves remained at the crater site, their own skin bubbling and seeming to be reforming the heads tha they'd lost.

"It's no use, I can't fix them. We can't be the only ones under attack. I don't know what they're objective is Bang, but it seems premeditated." Panko had no equipment on her. Given the substance and it's horrifying effects on Bang, it seemed as though touching it with her slime body would be a terrible idea. Should she take Bang's advise? Where would she run to? No, she had to. The priority was making sure the students were ok. "Bang, can you really deal with this one alone?"

Akane looked at Dark Side, nodding as he took the explosives from the woman before a noticed a brown-haired woman, who he assumed was a villain, appear right behind her. Before he could say anything, however, Dark Side disappeared leaving the villain there standing in shock before speaking to her partner and then shooting a twisted smile at Akane and his teammate. Akane smiled back, though it looked more like a cruel smirk that looked almost out of place on his usually kind looking face, his fear from before turning into anger, as Jasmine's mandrake used vines to attempt to restrain the woman. He glanced at Yuuta to make sure he was fine before returning his gaze to the woman. That's when he heard a rather familiar voice that had him, glancing up to see Ren standing a tree branch.

'He's a villain? The fuck! Did he know about me before.' He thought to himself, his eyes widening before they narrowed dangerously. He glared at the male who was now walking towards them prompting Akane to place the bombs in his back pocket before picking a decently sized tree branch that had fallen there his feet. Akane could help but scoff when Ren told him to give up the bombs. Honestly, he felt like an idiot, like he should have realized that this man was trouble even though there was no way he could have known in the first place.

"How about, no. I mean you can come at me and try, but I'll have to castrate you if you do. " He said, taking note of the fact that man had a pole which probably meant he was a close ranged fighter though his early comment about "torching" Jasmine's mandrake put him on edge. With two villains now coming after him and his teammates, Akane knew their chances of getting away without fight let alone getting away at all dropped greatly plus his anger at the man and villains in general only made him that much more hostile and willing to fight. He could just feel himself growing more and more agitated at the man even as he tried to stop himself from acting rashly even though he already provoked the villain.

The urge to run was so strong that Allison couldn’t stop her legs from moving. Who was that guy? The more pressing question was where she should run to. The kids could be in terrible danger, but if they weren’t, she could lead this maniac right to them. She couldn’t take him on her own, in fact staying to fight would probably result in her death. The woman knew she had to stall for Kaz. Surely, he would make it in time to save her, or at least the children. With his quirk he was one of the fastest people she knew. Allie had to stall for time.

Allison had been prepped for the field trip, and that meant that she had been told vaguely of where the children would be during their tests. On a last-minute decision, Allie took off for a part of the woods away from where the students would be. It pained her to not go and help, but she had to believe they could last long enough for reinforcements. She couldn’t protect them, and she couldn’t fight in this condition.

Her ribs hurt, god did they hurt. If she had time to set them and sing to herself she would, but Allison’s powers didn’t work nearly as well for herself. It would speed up the healing process, but it wouldn’t cure her entirely. Doing that while she was on the run just wasn’t worth the use of energy.

It was painfully obvious to her as she fled, that she had broken a rib. Her side felt like a crunchy, painful mess under her skin, it was already swelling and bruising too by the feel of it. That isn’t what worried her. Her mind was focused on the fact that it was getting increasingly hard to breath. The possibility that she had punctured a lung was growing ever more prominent.

The inability to catch her breath, paired with her running through the forest sent her into a coughing fit. It brought her to her knees, stopping her momentum. That explosion had hurt her more than she had cared to admit. The feeling of her diaphragm trying to contract against her ribs as she coughed, brought tears to her eyes. When it subsided, she removed a shaky hand from her mouth. Blood. She was coughing up blood. There wasn’t much, but there was defiantly enough red blood to be concerned. It was probable that she had pierced a lung after all, which meant without medical attention soon she would be in danger.

“Oh Kaz, where are you?” she whispered pathetically. Allison knew she couldn’t keep running, the pain was too much, and it would be too much strain on her lung injury. She began to hum, wasting precious time to patch the tear her ribs had made in her lungs. She forced herself to stand on shaky legs and continue moving, her pace now more like a fast walk. There was nowhere in this forest she could go that the monster couldn’t find her.

Schlamnn didn't take kindly to the words of Ren, and had he not already been in a frenzy from his most recent 'injury' he would have said something about it. Instead, he was more focused on trying to figure out where ShadowStrike was. Ms. Sparks said she couldn't be on the ground, she wouldn't want to make footprints. He wasn't smart enough to counter that, so he'd just have to listen to her. So in a bit of a fury, he threw multiple slimeballs randomly into the trees, hoping that he'd get something. At this point, he could get a raccoon and he'd feel alright about it.

A lot was going on, was probably the understatement of the year. In the time that Izanami had disappeared two new villains had made their appearances. Ren was accounted for, he was the villain that she heard in the trees thanks to her heightened hearing. The other one, the electricity shooter was the one she had not been able to plan for. It was a gamble, but she had calculated that Yuuta would be able to dodge whatever the new villain had coming and she was right. He ended up hurt, and though she hated it, it would have to be acceptable for the long haul. And if Calypso made it out alright, the explosions in the distance seemed to make that not so clear, it would be a minor injury to heal.

The villains had made plenty of mistakes - but it made things easier for her. The one who was approaching her students made mention about hearing her heartbeat, so at the very least she could assume that he had heightened hearing. The mandrake seemed to be taking care of the other villain, so Izanami made her appearance between Ren and her students taking a defensive stance standing still as she could be ready to defend her students. Not even half a second after, a series of explosions occurred behind the trees behind Schlamnn's back, causing him to roar and scurry away from explosions but stopped in his tracks. He looked to Ren and pointed one of his slimy tentacles towards him.

There had been a series of razor wires surrounding him in every direction, as Izanami stood still, cold, and calculating in front of him.

Ms. Sparks

Ms. Sparks began to leap backwards and manouver away from the vines. It may have appeared to be a futile effort, but the purpose was not to evade but to give herself time to think. As she focused on dodging with her eyes and body, she simultaneously tried to listen out for people's conversations with her ears. She couldn't catch every word, but she got the gist of things. Ren had also arrived. Good. They needed the backup. The target was resourceful, dangerous and had the help of several students. It was a blessing that Karin's attack had missed Yuuta. If it had hit her, he'd know that her static shots were painful yet non-life threatening at a distance. Because he dodged, he wouldn't know this, and the kids might all fear her more.

When the explosions went off, she knew that Shadowstrike had made her move, so stopped dodging and looked around for the now visible Izanami. When she spotted her, she faced her and then let the mandrake's tentacles begin to surround her, though not before quickly taking the taser from her belt. At first thought, she was worried that the mandrake's non-conductivity would make it a serious threat, but now it's non-conductivity was a tool. If it was conductive, she'd lose her charge when it 'restrained' her. But now she could appear neutralized, which was perfect.

If Shadowstrike looked in Ms. Sparks' direction, she'd see that she was now completely restrained by the mandrake, yet looking right at her. If she looked closer, she'd see that one of her hands was at stomach level, gloveless, and pointing a finger gun right at Shadowstrike's head. Karin smiled mockingly from her wooden prison. Had Izanami noticed too late?

The attack on Kath happened before Hana could answer either of her new teammates, but Ari was much closer than Hana was and could do something to slow and cushion Kath's fall. By the time Hana reached them both, they were beginning to stand up. Hana was glad that they were both alright, but as she turned her attention to the skeletons. Hana didn't that anything that she could do to it would have any effect. She couldn't even blind it, as it didn't have eyes. "I'm alright. The better question is are you two all right? And no, I don't think we're supposed to fight these things. Maybe this is a test to see whether we're too reckless to run away when that's the obvious thing to do. I vote that we run away. Who's with me?"

tumblr_m8f6e8kUN51rrtc7to1_500_large.pngThey were all okay, thank goodness for small favors. Kath had taken a pretty hard hit and it was apparent that she was in quite a bit of pain. They could try to get back to Calypso, they weren’t too far from the edge of the forest, but that involved running past this creature. Something didn’t feel right about the whole ordeal. It wasn’t out of character to give them tests that could injure them, the fights with Bang had been proof enough of that.

Maybe Hana was right, this test could be about knowing when the fight was too difficult, which it obviously was. She wasn’t sure how strong Hana was, but she knew that Kath was the strongest person she had seen in class. By the way that hit had hurt her, Arietty could tell this was not a fight she could win.

“Yeah running seems like the best option,” Ari agreed with her new team mate. “I’m not sure we can take this thing, and really it’s a search and rescue test. Fighting this thing is not our objective.” The fact that it was an animated skeleton that attacked them was a point that wouldn’t quit nagging at the back of Arietty’s mind. That didn’t really fit the skills of any of the teachers she knew to be here, unless it was actually some sort of device? Still something about it felt off.

In fact, everything felt off. Ari tended to trust her instincts, it wasn’t unheard of for her to get waves of feelings based off those around her. With her empathetic abilities she had even been able to feel when someone was in danger, just by walking close enough to them. Something was wrong, she just didn’t know how to communicate those feelings to her teammates without sounding like a crazy person.

She knew that she should be focused on the here and now, but she was stuck on another nagging feeling. Something was happening where Jono was. Ari didn’t know how she knew it, or what it meant, she just knew in her bones that something was going on. She had to keep herself safe first, and then she could find him. Not that Arietty knew what she would do to help him, but she knew that something was wrong. That meant that whatever was going on here, was affecting the rest of the students and the rest of the forest. Had something happened they weren’t aware of?

“Come on!” Ari called, gesturing to the direction away from the forest, waiting for Kath and Hana to start before she followed. “Staying here isn’t helping anyone.”

He hadn't expected his time to mourn a fallen comrade to turn into a full-fledged photo op, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Even though some time had passed since he was regarded as the number one hero, he was still currently ranked three and very popular. It wasn't unheard for the public to want to take pictures with even the less popular heroes, so he couldn't expect it to be any different for him. Besides, it was good for his branding though he didn't exactly need it. He had been all smiles, and everyone was enjoying his presence as if they were surprised he was such a nice guy.

That was until his phone had rung in his pocket and he had step away and check it. His first instinct was that it was a business call and he would have ignored it, except that when glanced upon the screen he noted the name Allison and a rolling eyes emoji next to it. They should still have been on the trip for the examination that Izanami was to give out. Though she was under the guise as Dark Side, Kaz was one of the few privy to her true identity as ShadowStrike. She was very capable as a strategist even if she lacked charisma. Her entire family was capable to be fair. As a whole, the Oda family were very skilled ninjas who applied their skills to hero work.

In fact, the first hero incident he saw in person was handled by Izanami's parents and their team. Frost, ShadowJump, ShadowCloud, and ShadowSlash had all effectively taken care of a very destructive enemy with little to no collateral. She came from a line of very capable heroes and still exceeded even them at skill and strategy. The students would be put to the test and learn a lot, and everything would go off without a hitch. So why was Allison calling him? Was everything going so perfectly she was bored?

He answered the phone and was ambushed by a bunch of words including a villain. Apparently, they were under attack by real villains, but there were very capable heroes there so why was he needed? He shrugged it off returning to his table to finish off his coffee with a final slow sip. He waved to the new people he met before stepping outside of the establishment and ripping his clothes off to reveal his hero costume. He cracked his neck kneeling a bit in preparation before slanging his arms down in an angle that propelled him at an immense speed through the air. It simulated flying but in truth was just him being projected in such a trajectory with such an immense initial velocity (as much as his body could handle) that he had stayed at a positive acceleration despite the force of gravity and wind resistance. When he got closer to reaching a negative acceleration he would swing his arms again in such a way that kept his flight moving forward.

It wouldn't be a long trip for he had flown at near the speed of sound, so as opposed to the hour or so car ride, it was mere minutes. When he got to the forest he swung his arms in front of him and it slowed his horizontal to a near stop as he was now 'standing' upright in a free fall as he observed the area. The first few times training his flight he had broken his arms attempting to do that, and fells through trees and hurt himself more. That was years ago, and now he could control it with relative ease as he glanced around the forest from his height as he entered his free fall. He couldn't see everything clearly, but he saw where Izanami was and the explosions He couldn't clearly see it, but she seemed to have it under control. Allison wasn't there and neither was Bang so he needed to find the other students.

His eyes finally landed on her as she looked to be hurt. He threw his arms back behind him to push him towards her direction. He would wave his arms once more below him so that his fall was pretty much a step-down. He looked over to Allison and blinked,"You must love being the damsel in distress."

Johanna blinked a bit as Jono helped her down to the ground. There were explosions in the distance, she could hear them clearly and all of the commotion that was going along with it. Her primal instinct to not trust the slug person, and Jono's rationale to not do the same was working out in their favor. The smell had died down, and the wind had stilled so she was gaining much of her strength back though she still felt a bit fatigued from the whole ordeal.

Jono had a plan and if it was one thing she learned from her summertime friendship with the young teenager, it was that he always had a plan. So she would do as he said as she tried to maintain her wits about her. The explosions were concerning her because of it just from one direction and it just wasn't one. She couldn't write it off as an anomaly in accordance with the test, because she didn't believe that Kazama-sensei was that reckless. To be fair - she did throw a kunai at a kid earlier, but she trusted her ninja skill far more than she trusted her to be able to control explosions.

When Jono had yelled the mark, they both pulled on the door though she could tell it wasn't designed for Jono by the resistance it gave. It must have been intended for her and that silly girl who stayed behind then got in trouble for it. His adrenaline must have kicked in though because despite her weakened state and his lack of general strength they were able to open it.

She sank back a bit before using her hand to stabilize herself and quickly pressed the button. She had already figured out what it did before she even pressed and that's why she didn't waste any time. It had made sense now. This part of the test was designed for three of the original teammates to use each of their strengths to complete a task. They didn't want Jono to depend on his gadgets and learn how to lead a team seemed like.

Johanna blinked a bit when saw Riyo approach and attacked the slug,"Ruyo?" she questioned before the hair(fur) on the back of her neck stood up and she glanced at the slug just in time to see him shoot the four bolts. She used the rest of the little strength she had regained to dive flat and push Jono out of the way before a bolt caught her left arm and her thigh.

She yelped as she was hit, sounding like a hit dog before hitting the ground with a thud. A tear went down her cheek because of the pain and she tried to scurry to all furs but her left arm and leg refused to cooperate so her right sort of flapped about until she gave up,"Jono go get your gadgets! She didn't take too kindly to the children before her running off, but it was ok. She had expected for them too. She had thought ahead and had 13 minutes left to control the skeletons that were attached to the rest of the missings parts of her main skeleton. A simple Pincer strike, and then they would compliment the beauty of her attack and herself. They would tell her how only a young person could come up with such a brilliant attack. She was delighted by this fact and slowly surely her heap of bones moved after the kids.

Meanwhile on the other side of the girls. TEAM GIRLS! Were three skeletons and as they approached each one threw a bone in the same fashion as the one that hit Kath at the three of them at once. (SORRY SHIT POST BUT SHIT I SUCK AT THIS SKELETON ATM)

Ren Hirogami (Blackjack)

Ren chuckled. “Castrate, huh? How cold.”

The green haired girl didn’t respond much to his threat— except to tighten the grip on her branch—but Akane certainly did. Lilac eyes glared at him in pure anger. Had the boy not been protecting his friend, Ren had a feeling Akane would’ve charged at him then and there. Or, perhaps, the reason he didn’t attack right away had to do with his quirk.

Just as they never shared with each other important information about their personal lives, they never really talked about each other’s abilities either. He’d known Akane was a student, given his age, but that was about it. Which school? Why? None of that really mattered. Dreadlocks was a pretty face so they chatted a bit. That was it. To think the avid dancer attended Shikatsu—and happened to be in the same class their target taught.

It was a small world, after all.

Not that Ren minded. It made the mission less irritating and all the more enjoyable. He really did enjoy making people angry.

“But since you insist—“
He’d taken another step forward when ShadowStrike suddenly appeared in front of the kids. Then a series of explosions sounded off. Course, he’d already desensitized his hearing to just somewhat above average when a shrill whistle in the distance had briefly caught his ears so he wasn’t particularly bothered by it. Unlike that eel villain who constantly complained about noise, Ren could amplify and reduce his senses at will so he didn't suffer from ceaseless cacophony. Was the background noise intended to inhibit his senses or did ShadowStrike simply like blowing things up?

The explosions certainly served to freak Miroslav out at least.

Ren rolled his eyes.

He felt the movement of the air (with his enhanced sense of touch) even before he saw the wires that surrounded him from all directions and stopped, motionless, in his tracks before he could get skewered.

“For an injured Hero, you work pretty fast.”
Ren complimented, fingering the barbed wire as he tested the strength of the trap.

He sighed when Miroslav just stood there pointed at him with his slimy tentacles like it was the most shocking thing in the world. Wasn’t Miroslav the one who said they knew all her tricks? “The wires are held up by the surrounding trees. Melt the trees to free me.” Despite the various angles, the wires were pulled taut in straight line. Therefore it was easy enough to follow the lines to whatever held them up and disable it.

Assuming they weren’t shadow creations, of course.

He did have flash bombs on him, having come prepared to fight the hero ShadowStrike--as well as an assortment of other items in his satchel. Ren wasn't afraid of losing his pinky to reach them either. Cuts and burns weren't anything new to his body. However, for now, he saw no point in needlessly injuring himself either. Besides, there was no guarantee that the ShadowStrike in front of him was even the real one.

Ren once more heightened his hearing. As he suspected, the thing before him wasn’t alive. One of her shadow creations no doubt. The target was still in hiding. For now, while he was immobilized, he would focus his senses into finding the real one. Then…well…what come what may. It wasn’t as if telling Miroslav the ninja’s general direction would improve his aim. And Ren sure as hell was not touching the slime—even though doing so could give the killer access to enhanced senses as well.

Might be easier to finish the job if the target and the students let down their guard. Granted, he didn’t even know the point of killing ShadowStrike in the first place, so his motivation had been dampened to begin with. At least until he’d caught sight of Akane.

From the corner of his eye, he could see that Karin had gotten captured as well. “So, what do you intend to do now, Heroes? There are many more villains in the forest. Do you really think you will be able to escape all of them safely?”

“Killing shot!”

Ren raised an eyebrow. It might’ve been a clever idea if she had been able to differentiate ShadowStrike’s shadow creation from the real thing. It also might’ve been better to wait until the ninja’s guard was down. Though he did enjoy the look on the green haired girl’s face when a bolt of electricity zipped toward ‘ShadowStrike’s’ head. Not even her students knew about her quirk apparently.

“Actually, she’s somewhere in the other direction. Though, if you can get enough voltage to shoot down that branch over there, I’d be much obliged~ Our time is running out.”

A brief glance at the sky (with his enhanced eyesight) allowed him to catch a glimpse of the Number 3 Hero, who Ren was certain had no reason to be in random forest where a hero class happened to be taking a pre-assessment. That meant someone had succeeded in calling for help—which, in turn, meant other heroes might be coming.

frey_fisheye_placebo_render_by_acerascaxe-d8y1386.pngJono watched as the slug fired the four bolts. In his panic, Jono remained motionless; not sure how to react. His hesitation has led to a brief state of paralysis before he felt Johanna’s body smash into his. The force of the hit actually lifted Jono slightly off of his feet before he hit the ground a few feet to the side. He hadn’t noticed that Johanna had been hit at first - until his eyes caught a glance. The expression on Jono’s face went from deer-in-the-headlights to anger in an instant, but he was not going to let his emotions get the best of him again. It was time to fuck up this slug.

The boy removed two smoke pellets from his belt. He threw one at the ground beside Johanna’s body, which exploded on impact. The second he tossed at the villain, hoping that it hit his body or the ground somewhere nearby and exploded. Jono didn’t stick around to wait and see, instead choosing to turn and run as fast as he could toward the trap that had taken his gadgets from him.

Unfortunately for Jono, the first item he lost was useless in this scenario; the EMP. He collected it anyway, placing it on his belt before grabbing the grappling hook he had also lost. Scrambling to save as much time as humanly possible, Jono then rehinged the mechanism that connected to his boots in order to allow for flight. They were a bit clunky and large, but they didn’t add too much extra weight and allowed for Jono to maneuver around much quicker. The last two items Jono collected were his headphones and cellphone.

Without as much as an extra second spent, Jono launched himself off of the ground. In the process, he destroyed the magnet as well as blowing out a portion of the dirt underneath his feet as he flew up into the air. Clocking in at just over ten feet, Jono readjusted himself properly so that he was flying toward Slug Pug.

As he shot through the smoke, forcing it to dissipate in his wake, Jono began yelling at the top of his lungs. His boots then deactivated within a certain proximity of the villain, before Jono shifted his weight in midair - performing a full front flip in the process - in attempts to slam his right heel down onto the top of the long, disgusting head belonging to the humanoid slug.

Bang watched as the nomu flew into the wall opposite of where he was standing. It seemed that even though the vile creature was seemingly made of disgusting goo, there was a solid force that was able to be reached underneath. Regrettably, Bang's strike did not have as much of an impact as he would have liked. As soon as Bang’s closed fist made contact with the nomu, his hand began to feel stiff. Soon, the pain set in. Bang continued staring at the nomu stone-faced. Despite this small hindrance, Bang remained confident. He had braved far rougher waters. The old man wondered how bad it would be for a hero that did not take pain well to undergo the same effect from the quirk. Did this nomu know what Bang was capable of, or was he underestimating the old man’s durability?

This was nothing new - in fact, it reminded him of days in his youth when he struggled as a fledgeling hero.

When Panko was finished talking, Bang understood why she had asked her question. She knew that she was better off being with the students. Perhaps she even assumed that she would not offer much assistance in the fight. Bang’s serious expression softened as he turned back to the woman, with a genuine smile on his face. In normal circumstances, without the existence of an actual threat, he would have given a sarcastic response. The old man wanted the head of Shiketsu’s support to understand that he had everything under control, no matter what.

“Panko, go. I will make sure he does not follow.”

His fist continued bubbling over, seemingly slowly taking over his entire right forearm. Bang raised his left hand, extending his index and middle fingers parallel to his nose. The nomu was not advancing and Panko would soon leave to find the students. It was time for him to get serious. His primary goal was to save the students, but even that primary motive would vanish as he cleared his mind of all his reservations.
maxresdefault.jpg
mikiri

When Bang opened his eyes, he shifted his feet. Even his stiff hand would loosen up enough to assume his trademark stance, bubbling over and eating at itself as the old man’s light hues remained fixated on the nomu. Even if this monster’s quirk consumed his entire body and this was his last stand, the old man did it in the name of his students. In the name of his peers, and in the name of Japan.

As soon as Bang was within striking range, he straightened out his fingers on both hands. Sure to keep them close together the hero would send a series of four strikes toward the nomu using only the fingers on his left hand. The first was at the nomu’s lower left abdomen. Next, the right rib. Bang’s third strike was directed at the nomu’s neck and the fourth was intended to connect with the middle of its forehead. Bang’s final strike would attempt to connect with Many Faces’ solar plexus, sent from his right hand. He worked through the pain and stiff joints, sending a heavy roaring strike to finish up his attack.

“Kiba Sōshi.”

If his last strike connected, it would send the nomu through the cracked wall down to the ground below. Bang would undoubtedly feel his left hand turn as a result of the monster’s quirk upon contact with its first strike. He sent his attacks in hope to pummel the nomu enough to force it out of consciousness. Perhaps if the nomu could no longer control its quirk, it’s affliction would fade. Then Bang could join Panko in finding the other students.

However, the other side of the token was a risk Bang had to take.

Akane- Team 2

Akane took note of Ms.Sparks attempting to dodge and get away from the vines before returning his gaze to Ren. He scoffed at the man's words, clutching the tree branch a bit tighter as he tried to figure out his next course of action. Looking up at the taller man who had taken a step for, his anger sparked again only to be snuffed out by the appearance of Dark Side in front of him followed by a series of explosions. He then noticed the wires that seemed to keep Ren in place putting him at ease for a moment.

"I highly suggest you shut up before i-" Akane's words were cut off by a bolt of electricity zipping straight through Dark's head. He was momentarily stunned before coming to his senses at the sound of Ren telling Ms.Sparks that Dark Side was somewhere in the other direction. Realizing that ShadowStrike in front of him was some kind of clone or illusion, Akane narrowed his eyes as he purposefully stepped around the clone to stand in front of the restrained villain.

"Night night you motherfucker." He said, eyes flashing as he raised the tree branch in his hand up before slamming it down on Ren's temple with the added strength he had absorbed earlier. He smirked to himself, even if it didn't knock the man out he still felt a little better. Returning to his original spot, he reached into his pocket to grab one of the explosives, the branch still clenched tightly in his other hand.

"Shall I allow that basic ass bitch over there the pleasure of getting up close and personal with one of these? " He mumbled to himself in English while looking at Ms.Sparks, giving the woman a death glare, his eyes returning to their normal gold but remaining piercing all the same. Taking a deep breath, he shakes his head to push the rather violent thoughts to the back on his head.

She had taken far too many gambles at this point, way past the limit of what she was comfortable taking especially with kids lives on the line. That was just the problem though. They were kids. Even if they did respect her enough to listen and not doubt her commands, she couldn't even begin to predict what they would do on their own. They were emotional, even if Jasmine didn't appear to be rash, she even showed emotion. Everyone did. Not just teens, even Izanami showed emotion. It was only a few years ago she was their age.

Caught in his stupid gaze it only flipped to fury when Ren commanded him to melt the trees, but not sure what else to do since his target he did just that. The slime flew through the air at the trees, and slowly the cells on the area where his slime was started to die slowly initially, but the impact became obvious. The issue had become that Ren hadn't also instructed him to aim for where the wires lodged themselves to make the process of setting the wires free quicker(though that would probably offer a chance for the wires to cut him as they fell.)

Satisfied with his throws he turned to face the mandrake that captured Ms. Sparks and tossed a fury of slime volleys its direction with the intent to free her. Once again without specific instruction, he did not take into account Ms. Sparks' safety and sent the necrosis causing balls freely. This was after Ms. Sparks had sent a jolt of electricity straight at where Izanami, only like the villain had warned that wasn't where she was. The jolt had shot through the clone's head and it turned to shadowy smoke in return, before dissipating completely.

Another metal disc came through the air for a slimeball that was on target to hit Ms. Sparks (regardless if she would have been moved or escaped), this time not stopping until it hit a tree out in the distance somewhere.

What had plagued her mind earlier had finally come to fruition when Akane swung the tree branch it hitting Ren. If he had fallen or stumbled through the wires he would notice that they would then turn to shadowy smoke and not cut him. She had only kept them solid long enough for Ren to attempt to touch them when she had expected and been correct about.

Creating her clone without initially touching it had taken a toll on her stamina. Maintaining her cloaked state would take more stamina and she wasn't sure how long she had until this ordeal was over so finally, her true form appeared next to Jasmine. She took a slow breath but started to pant. She had endured running and jumping around on her leg for a while now, but the adrenaline was fading and she could feel the pain and it was worse than before. She might have reinjured it, she wasn't sure, but she didn't even so much as breathe harder as she stood in pain, calm and stoic as ever.

What she'd do next would depend on if Akane's blow had knocked Ren out or not....

I didn't love it. Hana's proposal was a cowardly one. We were training to become heroes, not to escape the moment things get challenging. But at the same time, i realized we had no choice. Better to run to fight another day than to try to engage whoever it was hurting and unarmed. Our quirks were simply not suitable for a task like that. Ari seemed to agree that it was best to run too, and she was right about the fact that our goal wasn't even to fight this thing, but to find and rescue the "hostage". Ari took off running and no doubt Hana would follow. As fast as I managed, I got on a knee, then on my feet, all the while keeping on hand over my belly. This was bad. With how much it was hurting, I wouldn't be surprised if another blow in my stomach wouldn't cause my liver to start acting up again. It would be hard to run properly too. Nonetheless, I took a deep breath and faced the forest ahead. This time, running away would be the hero thing to do. Yet, just as I put my first feet forward, I felt a sharp pain on my arm and got flung to the side, by chance managing to glimpse at the cause and land on a knee.

Either these skeletons were part of that person's quirk or they were different people with very similar quirks. Three skeletons each had thrown their own bones a me and my teammates, aimed at our stomachs again. It was like this villain knew it was a weak spot for me, but why for them too? Maybe it was just a bigger target. I managed to avoid getting hit there though thanks to the arm that was "holding" my belly being in the way, but now that arm hurt too, even if not nearly as badly. But with me on the ground and the surprising aim of these skeletons, I probably wouldn't be able to get away unless I did soomething, but what? I had no weapons with me.

I noticed a branch on the ground near me and ignoring the pain in my arm I quickly grabbed it and took a bite off it, then merged into my hand. It was very hard for my quirk to work with organic matter other than myself, but thankfully the branch was dead and plant not animal, thus if I merged with it, I could probably manipulate it anyways as I would a regular object. Still, this was a pretty rushed job: I wouldn't be surprised if I got really hurt taking it off later. Without letting the skeletons react (unless they already had something ready to throw), I threw my arm to the side and commanded my quirk to reverse itself on the branch. It was one of the minor tricks my quirk allowed: While in reality the matter overlap simply condensed objects, when the time limit was reached the object returned to it's normal state. By using the same effect that returns the item to it's normal state without condensing it first, it was possible to create the opposite effect: I was able to quickly expand the item by scattering it's matter and intaking other matter to keep it together.

As such, the branch rapidly grew as I swung it towards the skeletons. I prayed the skeletons were weak or fragile in some way. If they were tough and resilient then the expanded twig would only break even more easily than normally, because my quirk didn't create new matter when it expanded, I was basically just stretching what matter there was thin. Still, even if I couldn't take down all the skeletons, I hoped to at least be able to take one or two down so that I could get up and riunning again.

That canine! She took the full range of slug pug's attacks all to herself, and she couldn't even have the bare minimum courtesy of DYING? Arrogant brats, he would put them in their place! Now free from whomever was holding him, Slug Pug was about to prepare anoher attack, when suddenly there was a loud noise he sense, a huge ZIP ZAP passing right beneath their feet towards the nearby magnets. The noise from the magnets had died down a little (not that the brats could hear that zipping noise anyway), but Slug Pug still found his hands thrusted against his head, squeezing.

"Zip zap zip zap zip zap zip zap... Is that all you do? Can't you SHUT UP FOR ONCE?! Just give me peace and quiet alreaadyyyy!!!" In his anger, Slug Pug failed to attack, despite still being able to perfectly sense Jono even with the smoke pallets. Jono's next action was unexpected but rash, clearly not understanding his enemy. "Fool."

Slug Pug raised his tentacles again, as well as his mouth, this time pointed at the descending Jono, and quickly charging eletrical energy. Slug Pug would probably get hurt by the falling body- but at this rate, at least that annoying boy would be eletrocuted to death without a doubt. It was too late to change tragectory for him.

GM POST

“You must love being the damsel in distress.”

Kaz spoke these lines just as Edge swooped down from his hidden perch, biting at the skin at the top of his hand and connecting his fist with the man’s face. As the explosion thanks to his quirk took place, it would separate both Kaz and Calypso, as well as himself from the small close proximity they were once in. As Edge flew back as a result of the recoil, he yelled at the top of his lungs.

“BOOOOOOOM YOU LITTLE BITCH!”

As Edge landed on the ground, his feet skid into the dirt. When they finally stopped Edge did not waste more time. Instead, he broke out into a full on sprint, gunning toward Kaz so he could murder him for his intrudence. He was sick of waiting around and had spent an inordinate amount of time waiting for Calypso to lead him to ShadowStrike, so it was only further hindrance caused by his appearance that sent Edge over the … edge.

Edge would be forced to pass Calypso’s general direction in the process. As he neared the halfway mark between the two, he stopped to reevaluate his situation. Kill the man? Or perhaps save time by grabbing the woman and running off. That sounded more interesting. It was possible that the school nurse would be more likely to fess up the whereabouts of ShadowStrike if she was about to be murdered in front of her students.

Ryuk_18X12_original.jpg
With that, Edge turned his sights to Calypso and continued running. When he got close enough, those claw-like fingers would grasp both of the woman’s arms and lift her off of the ground. He did not have a plan nor did he know how this little spat was going to end, but he was going to do anything he could to get to ShadowStrike as that was his mission. Using the thick of the forest as cover, Edge kept running with the woman thrown over his shoulder.

“Lead me to Bang or Izanami. Otherwise, I’ll kill you and all of your kids! I’ll let you all off easy if you guide me to my goal. Do you understand?”

Shogo Yamaha
The High Pressure Hero: True Blue

Shogo had been standing by the bus for a while now. He had been told that he was going to be reassigned to a different team, so until that was all sorted out, he was to stay put. So as he waited, Miss DarkSide had gone off into the forest, and to be honest, he felt a little forgotten. But he was pretty sure that being a teacher was difficult, and Miss DarkSide seemed like she was trying to make sure the exercise was going well, so he knew that waiting patiently by the bus was exactly the right thing to do.

The problem? He hated just standing around. So while the other teachers seemed to run into the forest to take care of something, Shogo merely stood there, finishing a bottle of water that he had brought with him. He had to make sure he was sufficiently hydrated so when he was told what team to join, he could make it there and help them without being a hindrance. He still had two more water bottles left, which could provide him an extra three or four minutes to his Quirk once he went to continue the exam. He placed one of them in his pocket and opened the other one, taking a quick sip as he looked up at the sky. Really, the day was beautiful, and Shogo couldn't help but smile as he felt the sunlight wash over him.

That was when he saw something fly past overhead, too fast to be a bird. Frankly, if Shogo had blinked, he probably would have missed it. His smile faded for a moment, and a quizzical look overcame his face. Was it a teacher? He wasn't sure, but he felt his stomach do a slight flip, a feeling he always got when his instincts told him something may not be right. He quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. It was a plastic flip phone with a chain on it that had a maneki neko on the end. So he was sure that he had his good luck charm on him. He then began to look back through his morning routine. He hadn't seen any spider this morning, but maybe...

He shook his head. He didn't want to think about it. He gripped his phone charm and shoved his phone back in his pocket, and chugged the rest of his open water bottle. He dropped it on the ground next to the other bottles, and began to run towards the forest before he paused and ran back, grabbing his water bottles and climbing onto the bus, placing them in the seat he had sat in on the way to the forest. "I'll find a recycling bin later for you." With that, he lept off the bus and dashed into the forest.

~~~~
Shogo jogged around the trees, trying to conserve his stamina and not dehydrate himself. He only had one bottle of water left, so if he got too low on water in his body, he would only be able to add an extra three minutes before he ran out. Unless he came upon another source of water. But he couldn't think about that now. He had to hurry and make sure everything was okay, and he needed something to do anyways. He couldn't handle standing around anymore. He wasn't going to get a good grade that way. And he hadn't brought any paper with him.
Shogo thought he heard some people talking ahead, so he stopped behind a bush and looked through an opening in the leaves to where he saw Miss Calypso with a man above her. From the angle he was at, he couldn't see the man's face clearly. Was he a villain who was raiding the exam? If so, that meant Miss Calypso was in danger. Which meant it was True Blue's time to shine. Shogo took a deep breath and prepared to step out from behind the bush. That is, until something freaky ran by, causing an explosion right in the chest of the mystery man, then proceeded to grab Miss Calypso and ran off.
Unknowingly, as the individual ran off, Shogo rushed out of the bushes, prepared to chase him down, but as he ran through the trees, he lost sight of the man. He slowed down, looking around at the trees that surrounded him, listening, hoping to see or hear something to show him where to go. But there didn't seem to be anything.
Shogo then remembered about the man who had stood over Miss Calypso. Since he had been attacked, then didn't that mean that he wasn't on the same side as the kidnapper? Turning back, Shogo held one of his hands up at the ready, just in case another kidnapper showed up.
No, not kidnapper. Villain. It had to be.
He froze as panic and fear began to well up inside of him, making his stomach churn. This was his first time experiencing an attack by a villain. He gripped his stomach and dropped to his knees, his breath beginning to quicken, and his head began to feel light. A couple seconds passed until he remembered what he was there for. He was attending Shiketsu Academy to become a hero. He had to be brave. He and to stay optimistic.
He got back up on his feet, feeling calm enough to continue walking back to where Miss Calypso had been taken. Once he reached there, he looked around. "Helloooooo? Sir?" Shogo held his hand up, still wary after seeing his teacher snatched away.
Hana Haven
Saber.Alter.600.2305296.jpg
Hana stopped in her tracks when they face three more skeletons, and they throw yet more bones at the three. Hana, as a reflex action brought on by her mother's attempts to train her for Hero work, tried to catch the bone and cushion the blow, but it was harder than she expected and it didn't just knock the wind out of her. It almost knocked her to the ground! Hana was starting to get worried. This was not what was supposed to happen on day 2 of Hero School, even if her mom warned her it would be tough.
"Girls, I think this might be a real Villain!" Hana shouted as excitedly as she could, being almost too winded to speak, but now she had a skeleton bone, and it was hefty enough to be a weapon. Her quirk couldn't blind a foe with no eyes, but the good thing about a skeleton is you can see right through it. Hmmm...Did it have any weak parts of its body? Maybe the neck. That was the thinnest part, wasn't it?
Hana nodded to herself, gulped, and then started to walk towards the skeleton. Walking turned to charging, and she raised the bone like a club. When she was almost at the skeleton, she threw the bone into the air, turned to light (trying to keep it as dim as possible though it was was distracting if not bordering on dazzling) and went right through the skeleton. On the other side, she caught the bone that she had thrown, and with all her leverage, slammed it down towards the back of the skeleton's skull. Without looking to see if she'd downed it for good, she turned and started fast-walking away. She was noticeably out of breath, and sweating heavily.
"Kath! Ari! Let's go! We need to find a teacher!" She called out, the fear quite plain in her voice.
Ms. Sparks
"That would have been a direct hit!" whined Karin, as she readied her taser to shock herself. "I hate ninjas! They don't play fair!"
She bit down on one of the branches of her prison as she recharged herself painfully once again, writhing in a manner that would make anybody watching slightly uncomfortable. While she was doing this, two things happened. The first was that Ren was attacked by the students. The other was that Schlamnn was using his slime to get the Mandrake's prison clear from Karin's body. By the time she was free enough to move, she was once again fully charged, though her taser was out of juice, and she let it drop to the floor. She was juiced now, and broke free of the remaining Mandrake's cage by herself just in time to avoid the metal disc.
Ms. Sparks was now free, and fully charged, and she grinned as she started to walk slowly and purposefully towards Shadowstrike. "Better not try anything," she remarked to Akane without even looking at him. "With a point of my finger, I could set those bombs off before you could throw them. Then again, maybe you think getting an artificial arm is cool. In which case, I dare you. As for you, ShadowStrike, I'm all juiced up and I fancy getting up close and personal, and if any of your children want to get between us, I will go through them."
Jasmine Setsuki (Team Two)
5b658c48796ebaf175c479981ce1b8bf.jpg
The dark haired villain had been stopped by razor wires. The female villain was restrained by her mandrake. It seemed to be going well until a bolt of electricity was shot in Kazuma-sensei’s direction. Jasmine’s eyes widened in horror as the current struck ShadowStrike’s head, surprised that the female ninja hadn’t dodged. Course, if she had dodged, it would mean that the ones behind her would have to dodge as well…but still. She wasn’t sure whether to be surprised or relieved when the teacher dissipated into black smoke. Then, as if to add to the turmoil, the dark haired villain’s words seemed to incite the remaining villain to start toss green balls of slime in every direction in an attempt to free him.
It was Akane that had stepped up before the dark haired villain could be freed. Though, Jasmine wasn’t sure if her teammate had stepped because he deemed it to be the best course of action or out of anger. It was the first time she’d seen that side of Akane. Not that she knew that much about him to begin with. They’d only just been put together for a team first-day-of-class activity, after all.
She watched her classmate approach the trapped villain. She didn’t think it was a good idea. It was unsafe. Villains always had tricks up their sleeves and he sounded fairly…confident…for a villain who was surrounded by razor wires. However, much to her surprise, swing to the head hit its mark. Not only that, it flung the villain to the side like a ragdoll, straight through the wires (which dissipated into shadowy smoke) and to the ground.
Was he unconscious? Was he dead? A blow to the head could be fatal for a normal person…and she had no idea how much kinetic energy Akane managed to absorb from the bit of wind from earlier. However, Jasmine didn’t have the time to check whether Akane had effectively become a killer or not because, at the same time, the female villain, who her mandrake had been restraining, managed to break free of the binding vines. One of the organic dissolving slimes had managed to hit her mandrake’s vines? The villain slipped out with her own strength? Jasmine wasn’t sure exactly, but that didn’t matter. She was running out of time anyway.
5 minutes had already passed.
Jasmine was beginning to feel the effects first signs of excessive vitality loss--the steady withering of her skin. Under normal conditions, she would’ve killed her mandrake by now. However, given the life or death situation, she would have to endure. She couldn't afford to kill her mandrake just yet. Not yet.
Kazuma-sensei once again reappeared, though this time, she stood beside Jasmine. Real? Fake? Jasmine had no idea, but wasn’t sure if it made a difference. The female villain was approaching—and she clearly heard Akane’s mumbled English.
In response to the villain’s threat, a thick vine from the mandrake’s head lashed out and cracked the ground in front of the villain in warning—a reminder that it still stood protectively in front of the students and would shield them from any attacks if necessary. That defense wouldn’t work against the slime man’s attack, but it could just as easily pull the students out of harm’s way with its vines as well. Even if it was at a disadvantage against the human’s slime quirk, it knew to dodge as well. It would do what was necessary at Jasmine’s command or die trying.
It raised its fists in defensive gesture, more vines growing from its head to replenish any that might've been melted by the slime.
Meanwhile, Jasmine placed a hand on Akane’s shoulder, hoping to calm him from acting rashly, but also knowing she wouldn’t have the strength to stop him if he did. The bombs were better used to frighten the sludge man—which they still had no other way to deal with. She had no idea how many bombs their teacher had on her either. Better not to chance it on dare that could leave her classmate injured.
Branch still raised, just in case, she tried speaking to the female villain. " We don't want to fight, but you aren't giving us much of a choice. Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to kill our teacher?”
If the villain that Akane attacked hadn't been lying then there were more villains in the forest. That meant other students and teachers could be in danger. Were they all after ShadowStrike? Why? She couldn't make the best decision without knowing facts. How many villains were at the forest? Who was their leader? Did they attack the bus? No point running back if they were only going to get ambushed.
She looked up, smiling at the familiar sensation and overjoyed to see Kazuma finally arriving to her rescue. His greeting was so classically Kaz that Allison let out a small painful laugh, clutching her ribs.
“Well, this damsel is glad to see you…” she winced as she spoke, her voice was soft as she struggled to get in a deep breath. That was hard both due to the feeling of the broken ribs inside her chest shifting as her body tried to breath, and due to the fact that her lungs were still being patched up by the tune she had sung earlier.
Edge jumped down from his hiding place and caused another explosion before Calypso could do anything to react. She was thrown aside, away from Kaz and cried out loudly in pain as her already injured body slammed into the ground. She felt so helpless, all she could do was run, but she didn’t even have time for that before she was hoisted up off the ground and thrown over the monster’s shoulder. Calypso yelped again, her ribs resting on his shoulder sending waves of pain through her body. He threatened her with the kids and all she could do was laugh. Kaz was there now, this monster at least was not going to be hurting anyone else.
“It’s funny how you think threatening me is going to make me help you…” Calypso gasped through the pain of being jarred. "I am now the thorn in your side." She was talking to keep her focus on her voice while she reached back to her legs and grabbed one of her classic red heels. As quickly and with as much strength as she could Allison stabbed the pointed heel of her shoe into edge’s left side. It was a shoe and not a knife so the damage would be minor, although she did stab him hard enough for the shoe to be stuck in his back.
Calypso rolled off his shoulder while he was distracted and onto the ground where she let out a groan and clutched her torso. She didn’t bother trying to stand, the effort would take too much and right now the best thing she could do was delay him. With as much breath as she could get Allison let out a large shriek, hoping that the pain it would cause would be enough to temporarily disable her attacker. Calypso had stopped fighting years ago, but she wasn’t about to go down without a fight. She would be the most annoying kidnapping victim known to mankind. The noise was enough to also make sure that anyone looking for her would know her location.
Sonic Boom
There was barely any time between him landing and the feel of a fist connecting with his cheek accompanied by an explosion, that sent him flying through the air. For a moment time seemed to go in slow motion as he went through the air, bits of his costume that weren't flame retardant, burning along the way. A million thoughts seemed to run through his mind as he was suspended in the air, though anger was the prevailing emotion. Despite this internal rage, Kazuma's face was very stoic as it usually was in his childhood. Him defaulting to his childhood demeanor was a clear sign of his anger, as those close to him had become aware of.
After a couple of seconds passed, he bounced on the ground before using his arm to right his body as he got to his feet and still with his hand on the ground to balance, slid a few feet across the dirt stopping just shy of a tree. He didn't move immediately, taking the time to gather himself internally so that he would react as heroically as possible. At the end of the day, no matter how polished and calm he was, he was still human emotions like anger still resided inside of him. When he was a child, he was more likely to be less angry but getting older and his training taught him that empathy was better than apathy.
When he had figured he was calm, he used that hand that was holding himself up to push him to a standing position, reaching the back of his hand to his mouth to wipe the bit of blood that had escaped his mouth. Sonic Boom was many things as a hero and he could take a beating, but he wasn't invulnerable. He clutched his fist and released so that the bones in his knuckles would pop, before rocking his head side to side to let the bones in his neck and shoulder follow suit. He had been prepared to take off in pursuit of the villain but stopped when he heard Shogo's voice. She'd have to wait for a tick longer, he had to ensure the safety of the student.
Putting his heroic smile he moved towards the young blue haired boy stopping short of him because he was on edge, and he had learned to never trap people - they were still animals and fight or flight seemed to always activate when they were cornered.
"Young man," he started before pausing for a brief second looking him over. He didn't seem to be exhausted or injured, so it was safe to assume he had not run into villains but had he even participated in the test? "There are at least five villains here from what I saw on my approach. So it's dangerous for you to be in the forest by yourself. Your teachers are more than capable of protecting your peers, so do not worry. We're here, and we'll protect you!" He used the tone he always had when he was trying to comfort people and make them believe it would be alright, and almost every time he was there, it was.
"But I need you to do me a favor to ensure your's and everyone else's safety." he started smiling brightly at them,"Stay here, and if you see a villain- run. If you see your classmates have them stay here too. Only fight if absolutely necessary. Being a hero means not endangering yourself unnecessarily." He reached into his pocket and held out something before pushing it into the kid's hand,"This was something my friend used to use to escape danger, and he was a brave hero. If you're in trouble...push the button, throw it and run the other way." What he had handed him was essentially a flashbang.
He turned from the kid and positioned himself,"I'm counting on you." As he faced away from him, his smile disappeared and that stoic face returned as remembering being punched from a sneak attack angered him again. He took a step and slung his arms back hard and went flying through the air just short of the speed of sound. He had calculated his trajectory to miss any trees and head straight towards the two, Calypso and Edge.
It had taken years of training to get his brain and eyes to be able to handle processing all of the information flying by and still be able to react appropriately. It meant he had flown into a few walls, broken a few bones, but eventually he was able to turn his quirk into barely subsonic flight. It also meant that he could simulate super strength, which meant more broken bones but this was different.
The distance was covered almost instantly but before he could get close he swung his arms forward hard enough to cancel out his forward momentum and make him go slightly backward. As he was floating he looked over Edge, noting the stab wound,"Now let me show you my boom." In quick succession, he threw three punches each sending out a ball of air the size of his fist moving pass the speed of sound. Each came accompanied when their own 'boom' and would hit with the force of a punch from someone with superstrength if they connected.
Jono extended his foot down and smashed it into the top of Slug Pug’s head, just as the villain’s mouth exerted electrical energy. Jono hit the ground hard, leaning on his side as electricity surged all around his body - shocking his muscles and nerves. However, there was no burning sensation on Jono’s skin. From the feet up, Jono had been completely overtaken by Slug Pug’s attack to the point where he did not know if he could move.
A moment passed. The electricity continuously surged around his body, particularly abundant around the gadgets on him that were battery-operated. It’s sound was obnoxiously loud - the energy provided by Slug Pug had continuously circulated around him reverberating throughout the immediate forest. As Jono laid there staring at Slug Pug’s feet, he came to the realization that he was not dead yet. Nor was he even hurt.
The boy tried his hardest to get himself back up to his feet but his muscles were not being responsive. After a moment, he was able to push himself onto his stomach, his body occasionally shaking violently as a result of not knowing how to properly manipulate the electricity. That being said, despite his situation, Jono was relieved. In order for him to still be alive, something in his body must have triggered. Perhaps out of the moment, which provided extreme duress.
Jono was not being attentive to what Slug Pug was doing. All of his focus went to trying to make his brain communicate with his extremities. The electricity had died down very slightly, which had allowed Jono to get as far as he had in the first place. Little did Jono know, that his technology was slowly being charged by the electrical force surrounding his body. Soon, Jono was on his hands and knees; trying his hardest to keep it together as he stared at the ground.
Johanna was still hurt. Jono did not check to see how Riyo was doing. This villain could be getting ready to kill him at any moment, but it was not in his thought process. He couldn’t fight if he didn’t get up. Jono yelled out of frustration, his voice cracking and breaking in intervals as his body continued it’s attempt to regulate the electricity.
Where the hell were the heroes? Where was the help? There was a villain still lose and multiple teachers - did they all lose? Were the students all that was left? How many else were out there fighting for their lives? Jono’s fingers dug into the dirt underneath them as he shakily attempted to lift his body up onto his knees, but found himself falling back down onto the ground in exhaustion.
