Lilliana2 Lilliana2 uhoh. Although Chris could do so technically, he didn't shoot everyone up in the air to launch. He was just getting a vantage point to see his surroundings better

But since they were all relatively close in position, there's the definitely possibility that his quirk would have pushed at least one person back a few feet

Ok I fixed my post, sorry I read yours completely wrong!

Okay so... he has forced her quirk to activate, basically freezing her in time for who knows how long, godamn that is something I'm really going to have to think about.
How long does his power persist? I thought he had to keep touching them for it to persist but you said he did it and said she'd be like that for a few minutes.

Currently at his quirk's state of progression. 5 minutes max for the paralysis. He can use his amplification freely otherwise.

He only did that to Lauren for 3 Minutes, and then released her.

Also, I explained it in my OC CS.

He can use what I call Chain Touch.

As long as he touches the same surface as someone he can amplify their quirk.

Currently his range is about the distance between where their desks were, but that was only because he was stressed. Normally it is about 6 feet.

Chain Touch goes through clothing too, but only applies if he actively uses his quirk.

So if someone touched his skin without him knowing, they would be in a coma. But the Coma doesn't go through Clothes. So chain touch doesn't apply to the Coma Inducing effects of his quirk.

But he doesn't have to maintain the contact. He can just use it once and it will persist for those 5 minutes?
I wish i'd figured out the exact speed laurens quirk amplifies her thinking speed, then I could guess how long she'd be stuck like this.

The five minutes is only for Paralysis. He can use his basic quirk freely otherwise.

It lasts until he releases it, or if the five minutes are up.

Well either way, Lauren is gonna be staring at Heaven's Mans face for weeks at least. Fun. Shes gonna be in a very good mood when it finally ends.

Wait so ...

If i understand correctly, Seiryo's quirk causes paralysis at best and unconsciousness at worst?

Do they happen after or during a quirks activation/usage?

The Explorer The Explorer

He has to activate his quirk.

But if touched when unaware, then that's when the coma kicks in.

But do the effects occur immediately?

Reading through the IC thread, I was just wondering when the amplified individuals actually feel the side effects as immediate paralysis would make many team-ups effectively useless. For example, people whose quirks amplify their bodies speed, strength, etc.

(Along the same vein, just wondering if this means Yua is about to pass out/be unable to move/etc. SparrowVale SparrowVale )

The quirks works by the connection between the mind, and body and the stuff that make quirks work to begin with.

Your OCs will feel no harm afterwards.

Also, it wouldn't be useless. It would amplify their quirks even further, and as the saying goes, "Go Beyond! Plus Ultra!!!"

Well, something like that.

No I meant if it was immediate. As in their quirk is amplified, but they can't do anything (as that what comes to mind when I hear paralysis)

For example, from what I understand, his quirk works like this:

He touches a person, the person's speed is mega amplified, but due to paralysis they can't move anyway (which makes it kinda useless, but this also wouldn't make sense which is why I'm trying to get clarification)

That is a long post, wow... sorry.
The Explorer The Explorer the lack of breathing is a result of the paralysis affecting Lauren specifically, since her quirk also prevents her from moving.

You got my OCs quirk confused with just Paralysis.

His Quirk is to Amplify the Quirks of others.

But he can Paralyze them temporarily by overloading their quirks to the point of them not being able to move. This is a specific action he learned he could do, not the entire quirk.

That's a big off. If given the chance, I would have had Chris help her out as that entire post just seems like a big oof.

I was under the impression that his quirk caused paralysis 100% of the time, which is why I was confused. I didn't realize it was a specific ability he could use.

Thanks for clearing it up for me :)

Webs Elk Webs Elk Yeah well it kinda happens when you have a bunch of people post and then have to make one where you recap what your character did.
From outside perspectives, she probably just fell over when teleported and just looked like she was lying down staring up until she finally got up and started hyperventilating.

You are right, but because of the way the quirk works, she wasn't going to be physically harmed by the lack of breath.
