The way you describe it is that it's strain that causes it, it doesn't seem like it'd just be oh they can't move or talk it seems like it'd be their body shuts down.

He has control over how much he amplifies their quirk.

It can be anywhere from Temporary Paralysis to a Knockout.

Lilliana2 uhoh. Although Chris could do so technically, he didn't shoot everyone up in the air to launch. He was just getting a vantage point to see his surroundings better

But since they were all relatively close in position, there's the definitely possibility that his quirk would have pushed at least one person back a few feet

If its full on paralysis due to strain Lauren would be struggling to breathe right now.

But I did have a thought, he amplifies their quirk to do that, wouldn't the paralysis only kick in when they activate their quirk?

If he amplified it to a point where it was forced to activate, then no.
