Mercanaries (Arubion Sivart)

Neimi strokes his fur with her hand. "True, but there's nothing we can do about it... you still saved everyone. That was brave... really reckless, but brave... I was worried when you charged at that thing, you know... really, really worried."

Neimi smiles slightly as she gently pets Arubion. "It's okay... just... warn me before you do something like that again, okay? And if you're wondering where we are, we're in a secret compartment in Calor's carriage. We had to hide in here from some soldiers that were looking for us... we're stuck here until we cross the border, but it's better than getting found out..."

Arubion would sit inbetween her legs rubbing his head against her stomach... "This is relaxing..." He'd yawn slightly... Still purring

Neimi nodded, smiling. "I'm glad you're comfortable now, after all that's happened... even though we're about to cross the border out of Nassus' territory, I'm afraid we're not safe... not yet... rest up as much as you can, Arubion. I have a feeling things are only going to get more dangerous from now on..." despite the worry and anxiety Neimi felt, her fatigue combined with how soothing Arubion's purring was caused her to drift off once more. A few hours later, the carriage came to a stop. Neimi was still asleep, and for a while no vices from the outside were heard.

After a while, Calor's voice was heard through the secret compartment's walls "Neimi, Arubion, you two alright in there? can you hear me?" Neimi fluttered her eyes open sleepily, barely hearing him "Y-yeah, I- Yawwwn... er, I hear you..." she looked down towards arubion and gently stroked his fur. "Hey, Arubion, we made it... wake up, sleepyhead.."

Calor opened the compartment, and saw that the two were only just waking up. "When you both are awake enough, it's safe for you to come out and see where we are, get some fresh air. We have a few tents up already, but we still have much to do. Since many of our guards are occupied with heavy-lifting and such, the best thing you two could do is keep watch, warn me or any of my guards of any dangers you sense while my people go about thier business. I have already secured you a place to stay. There is a curtained-off section of the barracks tent that has not been in use for quite some time, due to the unfortunate deaths of a few of my guards. it's quite spacious, more than enough room for you two, especially since... it doesn't seem you require separate beds." He chuckled a bit at this statement, and Neimi blushed, looking down embarrassedly. "Regardless, said tent is up now. Go and see it for yourselve,s if you like." Calor stepped down out of the carriage, and Neimi slowly and carefully climbed out of the compartment into the back seat, lifting Arubion out afterwards. "What do you think we should do now?" She asked, looking towards Arubion.

Neimi smiles reassuringly towards Arubion, shaking her head. "No need to be sorry... if I had to guess it's more because you used so much power in that form than the form itself. Which is also probably the sole reason all these people are safe. rest as much as you need to, you've earned it!" She pats his head a little to emphasize her point.

Neimi sighs and stands up, making sure she's got a good hold of Arubion. She steps out of the carriage and begins to walk around, boserving the elves setting up thier tents. Calor notices her, and realizing the sleeping fox boy in her arms, he wordlessly motions for Neimi to follow him. Once she's led to thier new residence, she slowly lays Arubion down in the bed. She knew that Arubion would sleep better if she laid down as well, but after the long hours she sent cooped up in that tiny compartment, the mere thought of not movingaround fgor at least a bit longer gave her cramps just thinking about it. He'll be safe here... I'm just not as exhausted as you arubion.. sorry...

Neimi went back out in the tent for some fresh air. She found herself wandering around the campsite for a while, then off into the woods, feeling the need to be alone and just think things over, try and digest all the crazy things that have happened. She became so lost in her thoughts as she sometimes had the habit of doing, that she became lost in another sense. She turned around and realized she had wandered much too far from camp, and had no idea which direction she even came from. "Oh no... I've done it again..." Neimi would oftenwander and get herself into tyhese kinds of situations back when she and Arubion were training under Ven... but back then, she wasn't wanted dead. "H-hello? Anyone there?" Her cry was met by rustling of bushes insetad of an answer, and she drew her bow. A tall, imposing, shadowed figure stepped out to greet her...

The figure approached Neimi, revealing himself as an elven man in robes... robes of the Order of Stendarr, a group of religious Demon Hunters. Seeing the robes, she shot at him, and began to run away. The man said an incantation and the arrow seemed to deflect off of nothing in midair, stopped by some sort of holy magic. the man whispered a disarming incantation and Neimi bow flew out of her hands, landing on the ground a few feet away. The man seemed to appear behind her instantly, using some sort of teleport spell, a knife to Nemi's throat. he exuded a power aura of magic that almost overwhelmed Neimi in his presence. "How fortunate... one of my prey has come to me. I apologize, as I'd rather rid the earth of the vile Kitsune and leave you alive... but my orders were to dispose of the elven girl as well... you're going to make my job easier. You will lead me to the boy who calls himself Arubion, and you both will die quickly... or, you will suffer and when i find the boy, he shall suffer even more." He whispered another incantation, and a glowing gold symbol appears on neimi arm. It burned painfully, and she let out a yelp, but the man forcefully covered her mouth to stife the screams. "It hurts, doesn't it? This spell is a favorite of mine... it becomes more and more painful over time, spreading throughout the body, staying as long as the caster wills it. It can be dispelled in two ways... a harmless one, and one that kills the user. If anyone other than the caster tries to dispel it... i think you can guess the only way which will work. If you are so manipulated by Arubion's power over you that you choose to bear the pain, I will simply kill you myself. I will be waiting at the edge of the woods near the camp. If you and the boy do not come alone, you will die then as well. If you do not get him here by midnight... i think you get the point by now." With that, the mage dissapears/ Neimi quickly looks around for her bow, before spotted where the wizard had teleport, and that he was holding it. he grins feindishly, and says "You're wasting time..."

Neimi ran as fast as she could to the tent, every few seconds cringing in pain as the symbols spread up her arm, starting to go down her back now. she bursting in,seeing that Arubion was awake. She looked worriedly towards him, before speaking as well as she could through the pain. "Arubion! You... ah! You need to come quick! There's trouble!"

"Demon hunter.... Weak magic spells... He may think they can only be despelled safely by him... But he is wrong..." His eyes would turn red.... Where is he..

"A-arubion, don't be so.. ah! Don't be so... reckless.. he wants me to lead you to him. It's a... a trap." She is obviously in excruciating pain.

At the edge of the forest, Arubion sees nothing a while, before the hunter appears before him, drawing his sword blessed with holy magic. "You came without the girl... managed to dispell the runs to boot. No matter. I'll just dispose of her later... maybe have a bit of fun on the side!" The man cackles wickedly, charging towards Arubion at blinding speed, managing to wound his arm.

Arubion's aura would make the man crumble to the power he was outputting... He'd draw his magical blade and make his cut in half...

The man sneered angrily. "I wasn't told you were this powerful! Someone will have some explaining to do... you haven't seen the last of me." The man used the rest of his mana to teleport very far away, so that Arubion had no idea where he was now. Neimi's bow was laying on the ground nearby.

Neimi woke up, and still sore from the pain those glowing runes gave her, she began limping towards the edge of the forest, hoping she wasn't too late.

Neimi's eyes lite up with relief as she saw him, and she knelt down and hugged him. "Thank god you're alright. Where is he? Did you..?" She then noticed the gash on Arubion's arm, and immidiately started healing it, despite her current fatuge. "Looks like he got at least one good strike in though.."

"He was a weakling.... Don't trouble yourself healing me...." His arm would seal itself up and fully heal.... He'd pick her up and carry her back to the Tent....

Neimi sighed heavily, calming down slowly as she lay in his arms. "Weakling or no, he still meant to kill you.... I know you can take care of yourself, but I still can't help but worry when you charge headlong into danger like that... please be more careful... please?"
