Akira - Their Moment - (
SmallSailboat
)
Akira took a pause as Lance asked to hear his song. He wasn't really proud of it, sure he may have poured his heart into it, but his heart's sound wasn't all that soft or anything. He was sure of that. Though at the same time, he was sure Lance wouldn't particularly mind it. If anything, he was sure the other would just be impressed because Akira made a song for him in the first place, but that wasn't really a high metric of 'good music'. Besides, the song in question wasn't exactly 'romantic' in any way, he was sure he could make a more romantic or lovey-dovey song if he really wanted to and present that to Lance as something far better. Yet, that sort of thing wouldn't be the same, would it?
He found himself responding only half present to Lance as he started to open his song "Yeah, we can do that. I don't mind going out, if you want." Akira didn't really like going out for the reason that waiters and waitresses seemed to get the idea he wasn't listening because of the fact he was wearing headphones, that on top of how loud places tended to be with meaningless chatter and the glares he got for daring to cover his ears and listen to music throughout- It was very similar to Akira's version of Hell. Though it was never bad enough for him to act out, and if Lance wanted to take him out he would be able to weather it. It wasn't as though all his dining experiences were needlessly unpleasant anyhow, some were fine. Mostly just fine, though. This time, however, he'd have Lance if things started to go south. That would likely be enough to taint the experience in a far more positive light then when he had gone out with his family in the past. Lance was far more understanding then they were, right from the word 'go', he'd always been. If Akira were going with him, then it would likely be alright. Besides, the movie afterwards would be a nice palette cleanser.
Akira sighed as he leaned onto Lance, holding his computer on his lap before saying "It's... not really your traditional 'love song'..." Akira felt like he had to point that out before pressing play. He didn't really do 'traditional' music, he spent most of his time listening to glitchhop and dubstep, so he was not the most eloquent in the musical language of 'love'. Sure he knew what instruments would best have expressed the tone of being 'love-ing', but that wasn't exactly the sort of tone he'd been going for. He was just going for expressing his feelings, and it ended up sounding a lot more chaotic then he'd meant for it to. He wasn't even sure if it would be alright, but now was not the time to be getting cold feet. So with a shaking breath he clicked the play button, and then promptly buried his head in Lance's arm as if trying to save himself from the embarrassment that was already showing on his face in bright red.
Akira really wished he'd made something better as his song began to play.
