Fandom Mature Power Rangers RP?

Hey guys!


So, I'm new here and I was wondering if there was a niche for a Power Rangers/Sentai roleplay? I already have a plot idea in mind, but I want to run by this forum to see if there is a significant interest in seeing a Power Rangers RP.


For those of you that have seen Power Rangers, you probably understand that the concept of the show is very drive towards children (which is perfectly fine!). However, the purpose of my roleplay will be to make a bit more mature. What do I mean by that? Well, let's just say that there's a bit more cursing, real life situations that characters go through, violence, etc. Just think of it as a notch above what Power Rangers' Japanese counterpart Super Sentai does, and that's sort of what I'm looking for in a nutshell.


Characters that I will be looking for our characters that stick out and have strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. Nobody likes perfect characters, right? Also, I may be looking for a co-game master(s) to help assist me through the creation process. I want to make this a fun experience that has a great story driven behind.

Well, I've watched alot of Power Rangers and some Super Sentai. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward. I think I'll join!

I think I'd be interested in this. I've only seen some of Mighty Morphing and I don't remember much from it but I like the idea of making it a more mature setting.

That's actually fine scooptoot. No knowledge of all or any of the series is required, but a basic understanding of how things work is. I think watching some of Mighty Morphin qualifies you to know the general idea though.

How are our suits gonna be? Do you have a design ready?

Right now, that is up for debate. I am not skilled whatsoever at pixels or drawing suits. So what I tend to do is use canon suits and create my own story with them. Right now, I'm leaning towards using the Goseiger/Megaforce suits since they tie in well with the story that I have. The story itself is completely original though.


 
Here's an idea of the plot that I'm working with. It's still a work in progress, but this is kind of the setting I was going for with the Goseiger/Megaforce suits:


Ages ago, our world was devastated and damaged by a great and terrible war. A group of warriors, known as the Angels, were chosen to protect the Earth from any form of evil. In this case, the Earth was threatened by parasitic alien life forms known as the Hive. The members of the Hive had one goal: absorb the life form of every living thing on the planet to make themselves stronger. For a while, the Hive was believed to succeed in their plans, but they didn't count on the Angels desperate attempt to save the world. In one fell swoop, the Angels combined their celestial energy to eradicate the Hive, sacrificing their lives in the process.


Fortunately, the attack was successful and the Earth was saved... Unfortunately, the celestial powers of the Angels, as well as their bodies, were destroyed in the explosion.


Thousands of years later, our world is still safe. Sure there are a few acts of crime and terror here and there, but it's nothing that humans cannot handle. What the Earth did not expect was that there were minute remnants of the Hive that survived the explosion all those millenniums ago, biding their time until they renewed their strength. Now that the Angels were out of the picture, it was time for the Hive to take what was there's.


With the revival of the Hive, the Earth, now more than ever, needs the Angels to save them once again. Without the celestial assistance of the Angel Rangers, the Hive will almost certainly succeed on their previously failed planned. The Earth needs a REBIRTH of the Angels.

I would expect a queen that constantly sends new, strong enemies just like the series.

The "mega mode" where the Rangers get something extra on their suits (Super Mega Mode in Super Megaforce, for example) inckude wings, right?

Posting tentative interest - Power Rangers was a big part of my childhood so it'd be cool to give it a more mature reboot into my life.


Let's hope this reboot works out as well as Jurassic World did, heh.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but we will still be in those colorful suits lmao! But please don't let that scare you completely away. It will be a very fun RP. It's actually up right, but I'm still working on editing all of the posts.

I'm interested. I have always loved the Power Rangers,but as I got older I was annoyed that the fight scene were cheesy and I always wished they would have made the character more humanizing rather than making them a stereotype/archetype/character trope. So yea I am very much interested and I am here to help if you need it!
