Arlen Hakhassi
Arlen watched the Mohawk lady march down the street. He still didn’t know her name. And she seemed to insist on not using his. The silver-haired teenager rolled his eyes. She wasn’t very sociable.“Fine,” he muttered under his breath. “Guess we’ll just stick with Boy and Mohawk Lady”.
She reminded him of Sukkan. The old geezer still called him boy as well. Then again, given his age, everyone in the village had been a child to his fighting instructor. He wondered how old the Mohawk lady was. She didn’t look much older than him and her height did nothing to help her in that aspect.
Arlen ran his hand through his hair, letting out a huff of annoyance as he did so. She had a point though. Given that both Arlen and Nerissa had incurred a bounty, courtesy of the marines, drawing attention to himself like he did wasn’t the best thing he could have done. But what was surviving without pride? Arlen was the Leviathan—the strongest warrior on Mirage Island. The emblem of his homeland’s strength.
He would not shame his people by acting like a coward. There was also the matter of Nerissa. He hadn’t been able to find information about her whereabouts. One piece. A meeting of pirates. Some sort of thief. That was all Arlen was able to gather before he’d been rudely interrupted by imbecilic attempts at extortion. Green eyes trailed after the small Mohawk lady for a moment before Arlen nodded to himself. A crew to sail the oceans with sounded like a good idea. He’d been thinking about it—how Priestess Nerissa would need a group of trusty people if she intended to find One Piece. And, even though they’d just met, Arlen decided he could trust the Mohawk Lady. She insisted she didn’t care, yet it was twice she tried to help him…three times if one counted her proposal.
Perhaps it was because he was used to seeing fakers—people who used to hate him pretending to be his friend after he became Mirage Island’s Leviathan—but, despite her unsociability, there was something genuine about her. He was about to follow the Mohawk Lady, to learn more about the Captain she contracted with, which ship he was on, etc when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Right then. Arlen, was it?”
Arlen turned, coming face to face with the bar’s owner. It seemed he had been one of the onlookers of the spectacle.
“I appreciate that you took the fight outside. Even more that you drove away the punks that have been bothering my customers. You’ve done this town a good service. But,”
Arlen blinked when the owner’s brows furrowed.
“You’ve yet to pay for your meal.”
“Ah,”
“I heard to tell the ringleader that you have no money.”
“Well, you see—,”
“You weren’t going to run away without paying were you? That would make you no better than those scoundrels you drove away. Stealing money from hard working civillians...”
“Haha. No, of course not.”
By the time he glanced back, the Mohawk lady was already gone. Figures.

Nerissa Orta
Nerissa didn’t find anything particularly amusing about a man falling flat on his face to chase a cat. Scarlet, on the other hand, seemed to find it incredibly funny. Shaking her head, Nerissa watched curiously as the man got up and applied some sort of concoction to nose. He seemed a little nervous—and was worried about a matter that was entirely trivial in Nerissa’s mind. However, she wasn’t about to verbalize such thoughts. That would be rude. She opened her mouth, to reassure him that they—or at least she—wouldn’t tell a soul, but then he continued with an unnecessary threat to their alcoholic beverages.
Nerissa frowned slightly, though her face returned to impassiveness when the cat-chasing doctor met eyes with her. She was surprised when she saw the glare Scarlet shot at the man. The brunette that had seemed entirely friendly shifted to dislike in nearly an instant.
“I don’t know you, Doctor,” Nerissa began calmly. “Nor do I know very many people in this town so I’ve no reason to spread gossip about you.”
What would she even say? ‘I met this doctor in Mirstone who fell while running after a cat’? There was little point in telling that to anyone and she couldn’t fathom what such a conversation would result in. Nerissa would rather talk about Aquarius. The aqua-hair priestess glanced over at Skorigg, a smile forming on her face as she recalled his interest in her god. The burly Viking was much more friendly and open-mined than he appeared. The Cat-chasing doctor and Skorigg seemed very different in that regard, though they both were men of medicine. She returned her steadfast gaze to the Cat-loving blonde.
“But a doctor shouldn’t talk about poisoning people so casually,”Nerissa chastised. Doctors, in her mind, were suppose to cure the ill and sick, not use their extensive physiological knowledge to harm others…least of all because of a cat. A doctor who used his knowledge to kill potential patients was nothing less than a murderer. “I’m sure Mr. Skorigg would agree.”
Nodding her head, Nerissa turned away from the doctor in a bartender’s suit and, after shooting Skorigg a warm smile, followed Scarlet to the docks. She was eager to see Scarlet’s pirate ship. What sort of people did Captain Scarlet have in her crew? Who was this map lady who could chart a course to the grand line…and possibly One Piece? Her curiosity drove Nerissa forward.
The Charybdis was much grander than her small canoe, but grandness didn’t particularly impress Nerissa. Whether a boat was large or small mattered little to Aquarius. Still, Nerissa couldn’t deny that it was a nice boat. The aqua-haired priestess glanced up when the ‘Map Lady’ met them in response to Scarlet’s call. It was the orange-haired woman who had struck a deal with Scarlet.
“It’s good to see you again,”Nerissa greeted simply. In response to the woman’s question, Nerissa sighed. “Unfortunately, the whereabouts of the map are still unknown. The only thing the meeting revealed is that no one has obtained the map yet, which could be useful to know I suppose…,” She glanced at the people present at the meeting with her, wondering if they had anything to add. “The general consensus is wait.”
For what, Nerissa had no idea. If it were Arlen, he would advise her to leave and find One Piece the old fashioned way. Arlen doubted the map’s existence. Then again, the boy had never really been one for faith. Reminded of the Leviathan, Nerissa glanced at Scarlet. “I need to find my companion and tell him about our new arrangement. He’s probably worried.”

“The Sea Dragon?”
“That’s what I heard.”
Arlen hummed as he pulled yet another plate from the sink behind the counter and scrubbed it methodically with a sponge. Washing dishes was incredibly dull. Fortunately, the owner was willing to keep him company. Even though it was already night in the city, the bar was still very active, full of people drinking, dining, singing badly, and more drinking. If anything, the pub seemed to be even more lively at night than it was in the daytime. Men finally home from work gathered with friends to party—without their wives.
“What about the Captain Ferra’s contracted to work for? Is he any good?”
“Hmm, don’t know about that. He’s got a bounty, like any other pirate. Why are you asking? Interested in Ferra, Kid?”
“Not in the way you’re thinking of,”
Arlen was looking for strong allies and Arlen considered her a strong individual. He’d seen her fight briefly. Saw her skills. If the priestess was serious about traveling the Grand Line, they would need powerful friends. Especially since Nerissa was the head of a religion that, according to the World Government, wasn’t suppose to even exist. Arlen sighed.
“Got a woman on the mind?”
“Two of them.”
“Ohohoho. Classy, Kid. Very classy.”
