I looked up at her "Why are you helping me" I thought to myself. I slowly looked up "I can hobble to the van, I should be okay" I looked up and down the alley reaching into the toolkit "Annie. I need a socket wrench. I don't think you understand how important it is that I get a socket wrench" I said obviously attempting to make it seem more important and resulting in a quiet snicker as I broke down and began to laugh rather loudly trying to cover my mouth. After about a minute of innocent laughter I slowly came to a stop and looked up at Annie. "Sorry, I'm an idiot I know but it was funny to me" I slowly started walking into the alley suddenly remembering the pain and wincing.

~Annie~

Annie tilted her head to the side as he asked about the socket wrench, opening her mouth to answer him when he started laughing. She was confused for a moment, but watching him laugh made her grin, and soon she was giggling too, the stress from their encounter melting away slightly. When they had both quieted, she said cheerfully, "I have one in the van darlin', you can use it when we get there."

Her grin faded slightly as Se7en winced in pain. Making an annoyed sound in the back of her throat as he began walking on his own again, she stalked towards him and forcefully pressed herself against him, her arm looping around his waist once more. "Look, I'm not gonna stand here and watch you hobble 'round like a cripple and not help ya. Deal with it, okay?" Nodding her head forward, she added, "My van is that way, 'bout three and a half blocks. We'll make better time this way."

I let out a small groan as she basically forced me to let her help me "Fine you bully" I said in an obviously fake tone of voice I kept going and looked up "Have you ever been to Chicago?" I looked back at my ankle and leaned on Annie slightly, grateful for the extra support I let out a relieved sigh "Thank you by the way, Do I talk to much?" I looked back at the door to the building we had just exited. "I need more pieces"  I thought to myself and began looking around for any gears or screws.

Annie grinned at his jab, sticking her tongue out at him teasingly. "Me? A bully? Never darlin'." She looked forward as they limped along, keeping her eyes on their surrounding and staying alert. The warehouse was not in the best part of town, and she was not going to feel safe until the two of them made it to her van and drove far away. She nodded absentmindedly at his first question, "Mhm, I've been a few times for work. Why do you ask?" She smiled as he leaned on her, bracing herself slightly for the added weight. "You are most welcome. And no, you don't talk too much." She paused or a moment, looking both ways for traffic before they began to cross the deserted street. "I talk more than you. Do you think I talk too much?"

I slowly pull up my sleeve revealing the symbol of a fox that any person in any number of sketchy alleyways would recognize as the mark of the fox "its where im from" I laughed at her next question "no you don't talk to much " I let a small smile creep across my face as I looked around. "This place is hot and I just want to get back home. Back to the deserted alleyways and construction sites where you can lose the cops in a flash" I smiled wide putting emphasis on the last word and grabbing one of the flash bombs Annie had given me before holding it out for her to take

I look directly at the man the strange man. "So your my contact huh? Your nothing special." In an instant the man was right up in my face and knocked the guns out of my hands. I step back but then he does a full force punch in my stomach but it was twice as strong as a normal human punch. I fall on one knee grabbing my stomach. Edward chuckles then he says, "Now are you gonna let me speak or am gonna have to put you down mutt?" As soon as he says that I grab my revolver and point it towards his crotch. "Now, tell me where my son is asshole." I say. He swallows and says, "Alright I'll tell you just stop pointing your gun at my crotch please?" I stand up putting my revolver in my holster. "Now let's get down to business." say's Lucifer.

She glanced at his arm as he rolled up his sleeve, noting the fox insignia. It looked familiar to her, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "What does that tattoo mean? I know I've seen it 'fore, but... I can't remember." She grinned sheepishly up at him, "Sorry, I travel all over the place. It's hard to keep track of everythin'." Nodding at his next statement she said, "Tell me 'bout it! I have half a mind to change clothes once we get to the van; I'm feelin' pretty warm right now. Jeans an' jacket are practical, not comfortable." Glancing at the flash bomb he held out to her she shook her head, smiling, "Keep it darlin'. I have a feelin' you'll need it at some point." Adjusting her grip on his waist she nodded towards a black, non-descript van parked along the side of the road in front of them. "There she is, by the way. We're almost there."

Colette's eyes widened even more as Ryan explained the abilities his teacher apparently possessed, her mouth falling open slightly. "Really? He's able to do all of that? I didn't know that was possible! Does that mean you can do all of that as well?" she asked curiously, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. Giggling loudly at his follow-up question she shook her head rapidly, her hair brushing her cheeks, "No, she's not a big jock! She's taller than me though, even when I'm wearing heels!" As if to emphasize her point Colette lifted her leg to show him her heels, and immediately stumbled to the side slightly, reaching out for his arm to steady herself. Laughing once more at her clumsiness, she replied, "It's really nice to meet you too Ryan! Also...." She leaned forward, still holding onto his arm, her face and body inches from his, "You have a really nice smile. Did you know that?" Her expression was bright, happy, and genuine, and her cheeks thoroughly flushed from the drinking she'd done earlier. "I like it a lot!"

"Yup, I can do it all too! Well... minus the Light... He's kind of a dick..." Ryan explained. He couldn't help but chuckle lightly as Colette stumbled around, grabbing his arm for support. His expression soon changed once Colette leaned in closer towards him. "Heh... Thanks Colette, I'm glad you like my smile I guess." Ryan said in a softer, more controlled tone as his eye slowly changed from it's normal dark green to a purple hue. "You look pretty nice yourself." He added, still grinning as he had been doing for the entirety of the time he had been around Colette.

"That sounds really cool! You should show me sometime! Not now, of course. Too many people!" She stage whispered the last part, gesturing all around her. Blinking as his tone of voice changed at her compliment, she could have sworn she saw his eyes change color right in front of her. Rubbing her own eyes, she took a step back and exclaimed, "Wow! I must be more drunk than I thought. I thought your eyes were a different color..." she trailed off before realize he had complimented her as well. Giving an exaggerated twirl, she held out the hem of her sequined, gold shorts in a mock curtsy. "Why thank you good Sir! I like these shorts! White, strapless, sexy tops though...? Probably not the best idea." She emphasized her point by giving the top a tug upward, the offending fabric slowly slipping down her body as time went on.

"Oh!" clapping her hands together, she bounced once more before whispering breathlessly, "You should go dancing with us Ryan!" Reaching for his arm, she wrapped both of hers around it and hugged his arm tightly. "It'll be so fun! Clem likes to dance, but not for a long time. I need someone else to dance with me!"

I slipped the flash bomb back in my pocket and looked up at the van "well I'm the fox of Chicago." I grimaced as I felt the pain in my ankle throb once more noting my ankle felt... Well loose "well that van is not something I would have gotten into as a kid" looking back at Annie I changed the subject "if you don't mind me asking Annie, where are you from originally"

Her eyes widened slightly at his confession and she looked at him is disbelief. "What? You? No way! Even I've heard of ya. You've got quite a reputation darlin', and I've heard some interesting stories as well." Giggling at his comment regarding her van, she shook her head and responded, "Well, it's not supposed to stick out much, ya know? Don't want anyone tryin' to mess with it. Not that they could do much." Pulling her phone out of her pocket with her free hand, she tapped a few buttons and a lock clicked within the vehicle. "There. Let's get you in the passenger seat, shall we?" Grinning slyly, she winked at him and added, "And that's a secret hun. I'm not one to talk much about my personal life."

I nodded at the recognition and sighed heavily "Do you understand why an ankle that doesn't work would make working impossible now? Let alone staying away from the cops." I Slowly climbed into the passenger side of the van and immediately began feeling my ankle to see what was actually wrong. "Annie, I'm gonna need some gauze so I can do something about this... and a socket wrench" I added the last part accompanied by a small laugh And began feeling around in my toolkit, noting I was very low on parts but pulling out some gears and screws and laying them on the dashboard along with a few springs and some 16 mm nuts "and if you have a few nails?..." I slowly began putting a few of the screws on some gears slowly and actually thinking about what I was doing for once.

Huh? My eyes? You must be seeing things I guess." Ryan said, chuckling nervously afterwards. "A-anyway, yeah, dancing sounds nice, I've got nothing better to do anyway." He added. Ryan looked around, trying to see if anyone was around. "You wanna take the short way and fly?" He asked, extending a hand out towards Colette.

Squeezing Ryan's arm excitedly at his response, she couldn't help but jump up and down at his suggestion. She'd never had anyone else fly her before, and she desperately wanted to try it out. "I'd love to fly with you!" she said happily, placing her hand in his. She paused her celebration suddenly though, tilting her head to the side as she recalled what had happened earlier. "Oh! Uhm..." Colette's face scrunched up a little, looking up at Ryan in thought. "I... don't remember where Clem is..." She trailed off, laughing sheepishly and rocking back and forth on her heels, still holding his hand. "I kind of just left while she was inside a bar? I bet she's not very happy with me right now. And I don't really know my way around Vegas."

"I understand darlin'. That's why I said not to worry 'bout it. I've got plenty saved up, I'd take care of ya til you're all healed up!" Annie said cheerfully, adding, "And you don't need to worry 'bout cops. I got that handled easily." Giggling at his requests she climbed up into the van with him, shutting the door behind her before she made her way to the back of the van. She quickly found the items she'd need, handing him the socket wrench that he had been asking for multiple times, and a small box of nails. "Here ya go darlin'. Also, do I even wanna know what it is you're making?"

I looked at Annie and smiled as I accepted the things I had been asking for and laid them out with the rest of my components on the dashboard. "Thanks a bunch Annie but I don't need a babysitter until this ankle heals up; Besides it feels like my ankle just isn't where it should be I don't think anything actually broke" I set to work on the small contraption wrapping a set of gears around a few nails and screwing them all in place adding springs onto the bottom and then setting a few of these bunches together I quickly came out of the tinkering session with a contraption that resembled a small porcupine with massive spines. then I reached into my toolkit pulling out a small winding key and screwed it into place loosely and then putting a few of the nuts into the designated places and turning them in locking them hard with the socket wrench. "And viola the most deadly spring loaded grenade known to the city of Chicago, and I would like to think, the contiguous united states and rest of north america" I spoke the last part with pride and finally answered he last question as I handed her her wrench back and poured the remaining parts into the toolkit "If you watched about six months back I was linked to a bank heist by my insignia being spray painted above the door" I said through a devilish grin "This is one of the grenades that a news station caught footage of exploding, The one with the nail that went through the camera lens?" I held up the device and smiled in pride "I just want to have it in case I see another one of those blue monster things... Do you have a file or a grated chisel you don't mind discarding?"

Feeling Colette take his hand, Ryan felt a surprising jolt go up his arm, all the way to his chest. "All right! I can watch this any longer! Find this girl's friend and get out of there!" Ice exclaimed from within Ryan's head, obviously fed up with his predictable choice of actions he'd be choosing through the remainder of the night. Despite Ice's exclamation, Ryan ignored him and carried on with the conversation. "In that case, let's go find her then! We wouldn't want to leave her behind, now would we?" Ryan asked, hardly in the form of a question. "Come on, I know of a bar not too far away from here, she might be in there." He added, grasping Colette's hand more firmly as he began to walk towards his destination.

Tilting her head slightly, Annie glanced down at his ankle and raised her eyebrow, "Darlin', we should probably get you to the emergency room or somethin'. That does not sound good at all, even if it isn't any sort of break." She watched silently as he began to tinker, sitting down in the driver's seat and leaning back, her hand on her stomach as she pressed tenderly to feel the damage. Jaw clenching slightly at the pain she felt, she replied softly, "I remember watchin' that, and your grenade was terrifyin'. You could easily kill an innocent person with one of those things, ya know." Stopping there, she turned to grab him an old file she had laying around, handing it to him before sitting in the diver's seat once more. She wanted to tell him that it probably wasn't a good idea to leave a calling card at the scene of every crime he committed; that by doing so the police could easily build a case against him if he were ever caught. And catch him they very well could, if he accidentally left clues behind at each of his robberies.

But, it wasn't any of her business, and she was in no position to tell him how to live his life. Sighing softly and then smiling, she buckled herself in before turning to him and saying, "Buckle up darlin'. We're gonna hit up a drive through or somethin' and then get your ankle taken care of."

I looked at the girl shocked as she mentioned an emergency room "That's not happening" I slowly looked down at my device and accepted the file and began sharpening the points as I responded "I'm not the one that leaves my insignia laying around. someone marks a place and contacts me. Then I do what I need to do and get out. as for the grenades to innocents ratio... well I don't go around leaving it in public parks and museums. What that news cast didn't catch on camera was the warning sign, Some idiot cop ran up and tripped the line I had set" I looked out of the window and up at the sky still sharpening the nails "You would think someone in my line of work would be more evasive and less brutal huh...?" asking the question more to myself than Annie I began to press my bad foot against the bottom of the van and wincing

Annie sighed and looked at him out of the corner of her eye, "Look, if you go to the emergency with me darlin' you're in no danger of gettin' caught. I've done this plenty of times. Unless you've got a better idea, then I'm more than willin' to hear it." She listened quietly as he described how he was summoned to do his jobs, wondering silently if anyone had thought to take advantage of him, or possibly use this method of communication to catch him. He was a professional though; she was almost positive that he likely took all of the precautions he needed to to avoid being caught. "What happened to that 'idiot cop,' hun? And I do think you'd be more evasive, especially considering that number of people that you might need to hurt if you get caught when you're being brutal. But that's none of my business."

Noticing that he had not paid her any mind when she told him to buckle up, she repeated herself once more, "Seriously, buckle up. This van don't move if we ain't all buckled."

I went silent and buckled up looking down into my lap "She thinks your a monster" I sighed deeply "He ended up in the hospital with a collapsed lung and major contusions to the abdominal area, His family visited him every day for the first week of his recovery then every other day for three more until he was allowed to go home. Upon returning he had to wait a month before returning to the force, Two months later a gang member shot him during a firefight and he passed away that night" Looking up at her I slowly opened my mouth and closed it a few times. "His 16 year old daughter now has straight a's and shes planning on going to college in three months. Her name is Tabitha and she wants to be a marine biologist" I slipped my grenade back into the toolkit "While people could die, people also go out and try to stop me very well knowing they might die trying, but i don't forget the pain I cause. I just haven't ever stopped and thought about not causing it in the first place"

Stopping after one last step in front of Colette, Ryan turned around to look at Colette, still smiling. Seeing her red cheeks and cheery look on Colette's face was oddly heartwarming. "Of course we can fly, if you really want to." Ryan replied as his eyes quickly turned bright blue. "I wonder if she'll be able to fly drunk..." Ryan thought in the back of his mind, almost uncontrollably. "I wonder if you'll ever realize your relationships will never last..." Fire retorted dryly. "Awww, come on Fire, let the boy have his fun. He's still young, you know..." Water said in her usual, half-serious tone, as if she was being sarcastic. Ryan shook his head quickly, beginning to feel his head spin from all the voices. He had just realized he hadn't slept since the other day, and the none-stop partying hasn't helped in keeping his energy up. "Anyway! Come on, let's find your friend! The bar is right around the corner here." Ryan quickly said as he spead walked towards the said-bar, pulling Colette with him.

Annie's face was blank for the most part as he spoke, her hands on the steering wheel and her finger tapping out of habit. She'd not yet started the van, instead deciding to wait for him to finish so they could discuss options for his foot. She wanted to take him to the emergency room, but she had a feeling it might take a while to convince him that she could make it safe. After he was done speaking she sighed, and smiled wistfully at him. "Oh hun... Given how much it clearly upset ya to hurt someone, I'm surprised it never occurred to you to try and change up your tactics. It seems like it would make your life much easier." Switching on the car so she could at least get the air conditioning going, she turned back to him and said gently, "If we go to the emergency room, it should be okay. I can make ID's and health insurance better than the rest of 'em. And we don't need to stay too long, just long enough for them to take care of your foot, and then we can sneak right out."

Nodding emphatically at his offer, Colette grinned once more and squeezed his hand in excitement, "Of course I really want to! Why wouldn't I?" She squinted slightly as she could have sworn his eyes flickered to a different color, but she shook her head and decided to ignore it. In her inebriated state, she figured it was easy for her to mistake something like that, especially when it was darker out and there weren't as many street lights. Giggling softly as he pulled her along, she did her best to keep up with his speed walking; though between the alcohol and heels she was struggling a bit. "What if Clem isn't there? She's not the type to sit still and wait..." Trailing off, her smile slipped slightly at the thought of having lost her friend, doing her best to keep up with Ryan at the same time.

I looked up at her and then back down at my ankle "Yeah... sounds good, but you owe me chinese food" I sighed remembering that I had left behind so much money and realizing I would be out of work if I didn't go to the hospital "Listen Annie, It's hard not to hurt people when you live in a gutter in Chicago it fucking sucks"
