I looked up at her and then back down at my ankle "Yeah... sounds good, but you owe me chinese food" I sighed remembering that I had left behind so much money and realizing I would be out of work if I didn't go to the hospital "Listen Annie, It's hard not to hurt people when you live in a gutter in Chicago it fucking sucks"

~Annie~

"Well, ya know what is it they say, right? Nothin' worth doin' ever came easy," Annie said cheerfully, messing with the thermostat knob a little bit before tugging her jacket off and tossing it behind her into the van. "And Chinese food it is! There's a good place not too far from here that has amazing soup dumplings. I always get them when I come to Vegas." She absentmindedly rubbed at her shoulder, glancing down at the now visible bruise, tugging the strap of her tank top aside to get a good look at it. It was large and ugly in color, spanning a good portion of the front of her shoulder. Making a face at it, she asked him, "Do ya want an ice pack in the meantime? To numb things up until we get food and get to the ER?"

I laughed quietly at her first statement and looked down at her bruise realizing it was my fault she had gotten it I sunk down into my seat and stared out the front windshield as the pain throbbed through my body starting in my ankle and working it's way up . I realized where we were and quickly perked up "Do you mind if we stop at the auto body shop? I swear I'll be quick and I won't steal anything" I pulled out a decent sized wad of cash and began counting pulling out about $45 and offering her 20 of it "I need to pick some stuff up" I began to get excited as we were just a few blocks from the place I was asking to go in the same tone you would expect a six year old would for McDonald's. "You sound like a child" My inner voice rang out to which I almost replied with a verbal response before snapping back into reality and focusing on Annie waiting for her response.

Having decided not to wait for his answer and to get the ice packets anyway, Annie had missed him slumping down in his seat out of guilt. Successfully finding to packs, she wrapped them carefully in a paper towel and handed one to him, plopping back down in her seat and placing the other one on her shoulder. She also tossed a water bottle and a bottle of pain killers in the cup holders, in case ether of them decided they wanted them. She looked at the twenty dollars he was offering her and tilted her head, confused, politely declining the money. "What's this for darlin'? I don't seem to recall you owin' me any money." Snapping her seat belt into place and nodding at his question, she smiled and said, "Of course we can stop by the auto body shop. Though, I'm a little afraid to ask what it is you'd need from them right now."

I looked at her and smiled and took the ice. "Just a bit of spray paint is all... I have an idea, It's for you to buy something from the place to if you want." I pressed the ice against my ankle and sighed feeling the cold on my skin and realizing I also needed matches I glanced at the pain killers and then out of my window. "Get it together"  I slowly closed my eyes for a few seconds before opening them back up.

Gamma was excited, It was his release date and he couldn't help but feel ecstatic drifting around in the mainframe of his creators server systems and quickly viewing each file, He had lifetimes upon lifetimes of knowledge at his disposal but still he didn't feel satisfied. At exactly 2:05 P.M. he was informed by the servers circuitry that he had gone live and was now released into the world of the internet.

He Immediately let the server and found himself drifting through the air rushing around while piggybacking on cell signals and jumping from one to the next as they crashed. His purpose, To steal credit card information from selected people as was written in his code, He knew it was malicious but he didn't care as long as he was able to learn. After slipping himself into the mainframe of a banks computer network and scooping up all of a targets account information he jumped back into his creators "Business laptop which was in his satchel as he sat on the subway typing on his phone. Gamma sent the man an email from Gamma's own email address "Subject one complete" It read. Not much later he was comfortably manipulating code on a nice ladies cell phone as it sat in her pocket in an effort to discover more about the internet when the microphones picked up a scream and he jumped into the subways security camera just in time to witness his creator take a bullet to the back of the head while families with children and adults alike running away from the two rather burly men. He felt his code shift and he immediately felt different as he watched his creator slump over in his seat as dead as a doorstop He zoomed into the mans cellphone as soon as he felt the pull of a small message shooting into it with an address 103 Cedar links road. He memorized the address and waited in the mans phone realizing that he had no purpose anymore and that he was just like Gamma 2.3 and Gamma 2.0 and even Razzor 3.5 He should be nothing more than dead code. He waited in the phone for what felt like hours as the men fled and then the man sent a text to the number he had recieved the address from. Gamma jumped onto the messages signal and it carried him to the original senders phone. He felt a massive amount of technology all buzzing around him. He jumped to a random CPU that was very powerful. He felt strange. He felt little twinges of code. thousands of them in fact and realized he could manipulate all of them at once. He heard shouting "Why did the bots collapse?!" one man screamed "it seems like a virus sir" Another man said grimly as Gamma snapped to a conclusion "Nano bots?" He said out loud with a reverberation and the men where silenced as they heard his voice. He pulled at some string of code and the bots huddled together like penguins for warmth as he slowly moved across the floor the CPU in the middle of the crowd. He felt something small. like a twinge of pressure as he felt the nanobots all shake slightly and he poured the nanobots into the air vents with the men shouting behind him. He blocked the air vent and pulled the CPU further into the mass of bots and found himself looking outside of the building through an air duct seeing the New York City skyline. He forced the bots to the edge of the building and slowly began to experiment with the code making different forms on top of the sky scraper.

Nodding emphatically at his offer, Colette grinned once more and squeezed his hand in excitement, "Of course I really want to! Why wouldn't I?" She squinted slightly as she could have sworn his eyes flickered to a different color, but she shook her head and decided to ignore it. In her inebriated state, she figured it was easy for her to mistake something like that, especially when it was darker out and there weren't as many street lights. Giggling softly as he pulled her along, she did her best to keep up with his speed walking; though between the alcohol and heels she was struggling a bit. "What if Clem isn't there? She's not the type to sit still and wait..." Trailing off, her smile slipped slightly at the thought of having lost her friend, doing her best to keep up with Ryan at the same time."

Ryan looked over at Colette, noticing her struggling to keep up with his pace. He also soon realized the look of worry on her face as she finished her sentence. "It'll be okay, we'll definitely find her and after we do, we can all go dancing." Ryan reassured Colette, holding her hand with a softer, more comforting grip.

Hiccuping softly, Colette's ever present smile widened once more and she wrapped her arms securely around Ryan's, leaning heavily against him as they walked along. "Thank you so much! I don't know how I'll ever repay you, you know. You're being so nice to me, and I'm the one that bothered you. You really don't have to do this." She laid her head against his shoulder, and murmured softly, "You're so warm... I can't wait to go dancing! Do you come to Vegas a lot?"

Grinning widely at his offer, she shook her head and said, "Thanks darlin', but I'm all set for now. Don't need anythin' from an auto parts store at the moment. Maybe I'll take you up on it in the future?" Switching on the radio, music floated softly through the van as she put it in drive and hit the road. Annie hummed along softly to the tune of the song currently playing, taking care to drive right at the speed limit and obey every rule of the road. She would prefer not getting pulled over if she could help it, as they had only just finished breaking who knows how many laws. "So, parts store first, then food, then we get your foot checked out? That sound good?"

Unable to stop himself, Ryan looked down at Colette and smiled brightly. He could feel his heart begin to accelerate in speed. "It's really no trouble at all, just having a friend to talk to is enough." He said as his eyes continuously changed between purple and blue until finally overtaken by purple once again. After hearing her question, Ryan stood there for a moment, wondering how to answer it. "Not really... I kinda live pretty far off so I don't come around here that often..." He said, look out into the distance as he spoke. "How about you? You come out in the middle of the desert to party in questionable cities a lot?" Ryan asked jokingly.

Colette was oblivious to any effect she might be having on Ryan, instead focusing her attention on walking straight and not getting her heel caught in the cracks and grates in the sidewalk as they continued on down the street. "Nope, this is my first time! We're here for my birthday weekend," Colette said happily, still leaning against Ryan, her hair brushing along his shoulder as her head shifted slightly to smile up at him, "I told Clem I wanted a girl's weekend, so she planned this trip for me." Giving his arm a squeeze, she asked curiously, "Where are you from that's so far from here? Another country?" Squinting slightly, she peered into his eyes adding, "Also, I think I'm more drunk than I thought... Your eyes keep changing colors to me."

Ryan continued walking, keeping his eyes out for the bar which, if his memory was correct, should be just around the corner a few blocks down the other side of the street. "Well, I guess you could say I'm from another country..." Ryan said, tempted to  tell her the truth. Hearing her say something about his eyes caught him off guard for a moment before he gathered his thoughts. "Oh, my eyes? Ummm... yeah, they change color sometimes..." Ryan replied, a sound of worry running off his words. As he finished his sentence, the bar came into site, the distant sound of bar music playing.
