"Well you said your'e a grifter, so I figure..." I looked around the alleyway "You could be talking me into a trap/ You obviously know I'm hungry, how do I know you aren't lying to me right now. There could be cops on the other side of that door" I gestured vaguely to the door at the end of the alley and my expression flickered into a grimace for a split second before changing back to the expressionless usual. My fingers tightened around my new gun as I spoke.

Annie grinned up at him and shrugged, "You don't know, darlin'. You're right, I could be lyin' to you, and I have a feelin' that no matter how many times I tell you I'm not, you won't believe me anyway." She zipped her bag back up and stood, her smile a little softer now. "I've been hungry, cold, and on the run from people more times than I can count. I wouldn't do that to someone else; it's awful." She took a step forward and placed her hand on his shoulder, her smile returning to its usual grin, "And I don't particularly like the guys on the other side of that door, so I can promise you; until we get somewhere safe, you can trust me."

"This is a bad idea" I thought to myself "Okay I trust you" I pulled out my gun and stayed there looking at the door steely eyed "How much money did he say they brought you?" thinking about how many people could actually be on the other side of the door I checked the ammo to make sure it was loaded "six bullets better do it, Thats all i got" I sighed heavily looking at the girl realizing she meant well my expression softened.

Giving him a thumbs up at his response, Annie's grin widened even more at the mention of the money, if that were possible. "Twenty G's darlin'. Yours truly does not come cheap." She mock curtsied to him before adding, "I'm not goin' take it though; I don't take payment for services not rendered. Bad for business. But, that doesn't mean you can't, if the opportunity presents itself."

She held out her hand, a small bud resting in her palm, "Earbud, by the way. You don't have to talk above the barest of a whisper; it uses the vibrations in your jawbone to help transmit signal." Tapping her own ear she, she said, "I've got one as well, in case we get separated. When I was here earlier there were six guys. You took care of one, so unless anymore joined them, that should leave five total. And they aren't the type to play nice, if you know what I mean." She sighed, running her fingers through her hair, "Still though, if it's at all possible, please shoot to maim, not kill. I don't want to deal with the fallout from that mess."

A smile slowly creeper across my face as I took the ear bud "thanks Annie " I slowly slipped the earbud into my ear and readied my gun "and what kind of fire power are they packing in here?" I asked barely above a whisper as I inspected my gun one more time

"Nothin' too crazy, but two of them seemed like they knew what they were doin'. I have a feelin' they're hired hitters. I have a bit of a.... reputation, if you will." She flashed him another grin before she knelt in front of the door, testing the handle. It was locked, like she knew it would be, though she made quick work of it with the lock picking kit she had pulled from her bag. Slipping it back in her bag she held out her hand once more, three small orbs in her palm. "Take these darlin'. Super effective flash bombs. The larger one emits quite the annoyin' sound for about eight seconds before it goes off; guarantees people'll be lookin' at it. Other two are much more subtle, you get five seconds after pressin' the two buttons simultaneously before they go. Do not be lookin' at these suckers when they go off. I'm not jokin' when I say they're effective."

Colette giggled softly as the man spoke to her, her cheeks flushed pink from the alcohol and her eyes bright. She took a step forward, getting just a little too close, and slipped her hand in his, excitedly pumping it up in down in a handshake. "Awe, thank you! My optometrist did always say I had good eyes!"

Letting go of his hand and adjusting the strap of her purse on her shoulder, she bounced up and down again, her grin getting even wider. "You can use wind magic, right? That's really cool!! How did you learn to control it so well?" She paused and hiccuped, covering her mouth and giggling again. "Oh! How rude of me! My name is Colette."

Ryan looked at the woman for a moment, still smiling slightly. For some reason, Ryan felt somewhat amused by the bubbly drunk. "Well, Colette, if you really want to know..." Ryan paused for a moment, thinking about the best way to answer it and if he even should. "I had a very good teacher..." Ryan looked around the street, seeing if he could spot out any  other people. There was no one around to be seen. "So are you out here alone or something?"

Clasping her hands together in front of her and bouncing slightly on the balls of her feet, Colette nodded and smiled cheerfully, "Oh, that's wonderful! I imagine having a teacher would make things much easier, wouldn't it? Did your teacher have the same type of magic as you do?" Shifting from one foot to the other, she shook her head at his question, giggling softly, "Alone? No, of course not silly!" She reached out to lightly push against his shoulder in a teasing manner. "My friend is with me!" Gesturing vaguely in the direction she came from, she smiled up at him, tilting her head. "What's your name?"

I looked at the devices and took them "And how did you make these?" I slipped them into my pocket looking at Annie "She's like me" I thought to myself and looked around before reaching down and picking up a small nail and slipping it into the toolkit "Shrapnel" I muttered before looking for anything else to use pondering her question from earlier "Ever thought of makin' devices that don't harm people?" No. No I hadn't. It hadn't crossed my mind. Throughout all of the severe coldness he felt he had never thought of making a device that wouldn't make someone suffer. He hadn't intentionally created all of these things but he did it none the less.

Annie winked at him and put a finger to her lips. "That's my lil' secret darlin'. If I told you, it'd be bad for business, wouldn't it?" Her smile faded the slightest bit as she saw him picking up a nail and muttering to himself. A part of her wanted to suggest something else to him, but she decided not to. She barely knew the guy; she wasn't in any sort of position to be criticizing him and his life choices. Especially since she had no idea what he'd gone through."There's a short hallway on the other side of this door. There are a couple of doors along the way, small storage rooms, old offices, bathrooms. At the end of the hallway it opens in to a warehouse with a lot of ol' shippin' containers and boxes for cover. Electric was cut off for the buildin' years ago, so it's pretty damn dark in there, aside from windows. There's also an upper floor around the perimeter, mostly used for other storage."

I snapped out of my train of thought and I looked up "Ill go in through one of the windows. Whats the range on these ear plugs" I took a few steps back looking up at the wall and then looked at Annie "Also what business?" I felt to make sure my knives where still in my sleeves and the devices were still in my pocket as I ran forward quickly running up the wall a few steps and jumping spinning and grabbing a small ledge placing my hand on the outside of a window and pushing it up peering inside and looking around.

"Range is pretty good, so you're good to go hun. I haven't tested beyond five miles though, so try not to leave me too far behind, alright?" She grinned teasingly at him, watching him curiously as he took several steps back. She was about to answer his question when he ran forward and managed to get himself up to a window, and her eyes widened, thoroughly impressed. She was decently athletic and capable, but nowhere near as good as he clearly was. Shaking her head slightly to refocus herself, she responded in a whisper, "I sell my toys, or a make custom devices based on a client's needs. See anything up there?"

"The coast is clear so far" I whispered softly as I went head first into the window "I hear someone" I said barely audible and began moving as quietly as I could "you said there would be five of them right?" I pulled out one of the smaller flash bombs and replaced its place in my pocket with the gun.

Waiting until he was inside, Annie slipped in through the door as well, taking care to close it silently behind her. She spun back around and faced the hallway, the shadows from the windows behind her long and menacing. In her opinion, anyway. She stayed low and close to the wall as she crept forward, taking a moment to slip on her sunglasses and press a button on the side. The world changed in front of her instantly, heat signatures now visible as her glasses began to work their magic. She did a sweep, not noticing any signs of life from the smaller rooms around her. "The rooms down here are clear," she whispered back, taking care to avoid a particularly creaky spot she remembered from earlier. "I think they're all in the main part of the warehouse. Be careful!"

I slowly crept my way around the perimeter of the building, soon spotting the hall Annie would soon come out of as well as the men all standing near a rather large stack of crates, Two of them looking very solemn. "Annie, I have eyes on your hallway as well as the people you flaked on; two of them are watching either side." I whispered as I rolled the small orb in my hand and looked down at it as well as feeling for my knives "take out the two first..." I thought to myself looking around i slowly backed up to the wall and got down on one knee ready to sprint and clicked the buttons on either side of the orb "watch your eyes Anne"

I threw the orb at the men and it bounced around as I ran and jumped using a small crate as a springboard being sure to tuck my eyes into my knees in a flipping position before landing and rolling through one of the assumed guards legs and flicked my wrists, my sleeves quickly producing knives as i swept another mans legs and stabbed a knife into the back of each mans left knee all in the matter of about seven seconds. "sorry if that was to sudden. I act before I think" I said now out-loud to Annie as I pulled my knives at and placed my hands on the ground in front of me still crouched and looking up at another man.

(OOC- Sorry for the late post guys. I'm still working on getting WiFi at my own house... =~=) Ryan looked back at Colette, a grin of slight amusement still stuck to his face. "Yeah, getting taught by a guy who's mastered it already definitely helps. And he uses it all; Earth, Water, Fire, Ice, and Wind. You know, the basics!" Ryan said, leaving a cheerful tone at the end. "AHEM!" Light coughed with an obviously fake cough. "Oh, and Light, he also can use Light!" Ryan added quickly. "Anyway! Who's your friend? He wouldn't happen to be a big, muscle-bound jock would he?" Ryan said in a slightly comical tone. "And my names Ryan, Ryan Ports. It's nice to meet you Colette." He added, still smiling at her as he watched for any movement in the corner of his eyes.

Annie had slowly been working her way forward when he mentioned the men that were present on the other side of the hallway. Part of her wanted to correct him, to tell him she didn't "flake" on them, She crept the last few feet until she reached the end, pressing herself flat against the wall near the mouth of the hallway. With her glasses she was able to make out the figures that Se7en had mentioned, clustered around the middle of the wide open warehouse. It sounded like they were arguing to her, but she couldn't quite make out what they were saying. It likely had something to do with their now deceased member.

Hearing his warning she turned her head and shut her eyes tight, counting down until she knew the flash bomb had gone off. She turned back just in time to see him take down two men through her glasses, thoroughly impressed with his speed and precision. "I'm startin' to see that now darlin'," she responded to his comment about acting before he thought, her smile evident in her voice. Noticing several of the men pulling out their weapons in response to the cries of pain, Annie launched herself forward. She disarmed two of the nearby men in quick succession, using their blindness and her light footing to her advantage. Their guns and clips were quickly separated and tossed across the warehouse, far away from each other. And with their sight still impaired, they weren't able to retaliate.

The third man was a bit quicker, and she could tell he clearly hadn't caught full sight of the flash bomb as he threw himself at her. She managed to grab the gun at his side and toss it away as well, but doing so allowed him to get a hit in on her abdomen and she doubled over in pain for a moment. She threw her arms up and waited for his next hit, intending to counter it.

Colette's eyes widened even more as Ryan explained the abilities his teacher apparently possessed, her mouth falling open slightly. "Really? He's able to do all of that? I didn't know that was possible! Does that mean you can do all of that as well?" she asked curiously, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. Giggling loudly at his follow-up question she shook her head rapidly, her hair brushing her cheeks, "No, she's not a big jock! She's taller than me though, even when I'm wearing heels!" As if to emphasize her point Colette lifted her leg to show him her heels, and immediately stumbled to the side slightly, reaching out for his arm to steady herself. Laughing once more at her clumsiness, she replied, "It's really nice to meet you too Ryan! Also...." She leaned forward, still holding onto his arm, her face and body inches from his, "You have a really nice smile. Did you know that?" Her expression was bright, happy, and genuine, and her cheeks thoroughly flushed from the drinking she'd done earlier. "I like it a lot!"

I began to laugh until I saw Annie get hit. As I saw her throw up her arms to block I kicked the mans knee from the outside receiving a loud crunch from both his and my legs as I screamed in pain I slipped my knives up my sleeve and stood up straight now wincing in pain as I kicked the man in the abdomen twice with my good foot. "That" *kick* "fucking *Kick* "HURT!" and with the final word I spun around my arm seemingly loose but my knife Evacuated my sleeve and found itself in the shoulder of one of the men Annie had disarmed. "Annie... I think I broke my foot..." I spoke wincing with each breath obvious worry in my voice "This is gonna be bad for business..."

I looked around and pointed at the last man who wasn't severely wounded "Can we just knock him out and leave...?" most of the men groaning but the one I had rolled through who was seemingly unconscious.

I open the door to my apartment. As I look over to my window I say, "God I hate Vegas. I don't know why my contact has to be here in this god forsaken place." I walk over to the window and I grab my barret. I aim it outside to see what kind of activity has been going on. "Nothing has been happening so far. I been here for so long and nothing interesting has happened." I put down my barret and I sit down on my couch. I think to myself, "I need some sleep. I have been scouting non-stop all day and night. A few hours won't kill me." As I drift off to sleep I hear a creak in the hallway. I immediately jump of the couch and pull out my 2 revolvers. "Who's there?!" I call out. Then out of the shadows, a man walks out. He was wearing a white suit with a rose in it, he had blonde hair and dark blue eyes. He wore white gloves and wore black business like shoes. He speaks "Hello Will, I'm the one you have been looking for. My name is Edward but you can call me Lucifer."

Having braced herself for a hit that didn't come, Annie was a little thrown off by the lack of impact. She jerked her head up at the sound of his scream of pain, watching with wide eyes as he repeatedly kicked the man who had attacked her and threw his knife at another one of the men. Swallowing hard, she nodded at his statement that he broke his foot. She walked over to the man with the knife in his shoulder, her gun trained on him as she yanked the knife from him and wiped the blood off on his shirt. Walking back to Se7en, she silently handed him back his knife before pressing herself against his side, pulling his arm over her shoulder and wrapping her own arm around his waist to help support him. Her smile was reassuring and her voice was soft as she spoke to him, "I got you darlin'. We'll be okay, you don't need to hurt anyone anymore."

Turning to the men in the room, she smiled and said cheerfully in her southern drawl, "Here's what's goin' to happen boys. The two of us are goin' to leave through the front of the building, and ya'll aren't goin' to follow. If anythin' happens to us, you should know I recorded our very detailed conversation earlier regardin' the job ya'll planned on runnin'. It'll make it's way to the police in roughly one hour if I don't stop the program from launchin', and we all know exactly how damagin' that'll be for ya'll. Am I makin' myself clear?" She looked around at each of the men, and aside from nasty name calling, not one of them moved towards her and Se7en. Tightening her grip on him, she turned to look up at him and smiled once more, nodding towards the front. "Shall we get goin' darlin'?"

I looked amazed at the girls reaction to my injury my face contorting with the pain "What about the money..." I uttered through clenched teeth. "You can't seriously not help me find the money... I'm going to be out of work for a LONG time Darlin'  " Doing an almost spot on voice impression of Annie's southern accent and seeing how she hadn't called me anything but that since I had met her it only seemed fair. I tried applying pressure onto my foot and realized the pain was not coming from my foot as I had thought in that moment, But instead from my ankle I grimaced and slipped my knife into my sleeve. As I listened to the men's insults I looked around and tried to bend down to grab a nail but instead just fell to the ground on my hands and knees tears building up. "This shit hurts Annie..."

Annie shook her head slowly, her smile faltering slightly as he mimicked her accent and her term of endearment. His mocking stung just the slightest bit, but she didn't let it show or address it at all. She watched silently as he tested the weight on his foot and hid his knife away in his sleeve. Letting him go as he bent to pick up a nail and instead fell on the ground, she turned an icy stare at one of the men who dared to comment on it, before kneeling on the ground next to Se7en. Watching him made her chest feel tight, and she fought the urge to hug him; he reminded her of so many other people she had met through her travels that she had been unable to help. Sighing, she placed her hand on his back, rubbing it gently as she whispered in a soothing manner, "I know the money is temptin' hun, but we gotta leave it. We don't need to give these guys any more of a reason to follow us; not in the shape we're in. And besides," she paused, glancing down at his ankle before continuing, "You got hurt protectin' me, and I always pay back my debts. So you don't need to worry about money for a bit, alright?"

Leaning back on her heels she gently tugged on his arm, her whispering a bit more urgent, "We do need to get a move on it though. Hold onto me, alright? I'll help you walk and keep you from fallin' down."

I shook my head and stood back up forcing my weight onto my leg and walked towards the door with a severe limp "I guess your right..." I slowly took a deep breath as I walked holding back the groans of pain as my ankle popped and I felt the wave of pain radiate through my entire body. "But I need something to eat..." I held my stomach as it began to growl "Shes trying to be nice. just let her help you" I struggled with myself not desiring the pain that came with friendship and trying to resolve myself to the lonely life I was currently leading. Still walking with a limp I made it to the door and held it open for Annie thinking about the genuine care in her voice.

Annie reached out for him as he pushed himself up off the ground, intending to help him, but when he made it clear he wanted to do it himself she pulled back. It makes sense that he would do that... I don't exactly trust people either. Sighing heavily, she also stood up, hovering next to him as he limped towards the door in case something happened and she had to catch him. "We can pick up some food wherever you'd like to darlin', as soon as we're clear from this mess." Her left shoulder, and now her stomach, were both quite sore, and once she got the chance to take a look she was pretty sure she would find some nasty bruising.

She smiled softly at him at his gesture, quickly making her way through the door and onto a very dimly lit, empty side street. Turning back to him she tilted her head and crossed her arms, her voice a little more forceful than before. "Okay, ya got two options, dear. You can let me help you limp to my van, which is parked several blocks from here. Or, we can hide you somewhere and I'll go get it by myself and come get you. Which would you prefer?"

I looked up at her "Why are you helping me" I thought to myself. I slowly looked up "I can hobble to the van, I should be okay" I looked up and down the alley reaching into the toolkit "Annie. I need a socket wrench. I don't think you understand how important it is that I get a socket wrench" I said obviously attempting to make it seem more important and resulting in a quiet snicker as I broke down and began to laugh rather loudly trying to cover my mouth. After about a minute of innocent laughter I slowly came to a stop and looked up at Annie. "Sorry, I'm an idiot I know but it was funny to me" I slowly started walking into the alley suddenly remembering the pain and wincing.
