I slowly inspected the gun "I hate being called a druggie" I put the gun in my pocket and began bouncing on the balls of my feet "what was that guy talking about?"

~Annie~

"A druggie? Darlin', I asked if you were trippin', not if you were a druggie. I've been drugged before against my will; one trip does not make you a druggie. 'Specially in a place like Vegas, where things happen by accident." Walking towards him she held out her hand for a proper handshake, smiling widely, "Shall we start over then? Hi, my name is Annie, and that fine gentleman you chased off was a business associate. You are?"

I looked at the girl then met her hand with mine and shook it "I'm Se7en. And I'm not tripping. I've never touched anything worse than a couple of pain pills for a broken jaw" I moved my jaw to the left and a hollow click could be heard "so what are you? Dealer? Runner? " I instinctively pulled put some pieces from my tool kit and began linking pieces together ending up with a small gear machine with a tiny winding key.

I reply, "Well little missy, I'm trying to find someone who has some very important information of a person I'm looking for." I puff on my cigar. "Vegas fucking sucks, I still can't find him and I have nearly searched all of Vegas."

Clem pointedly ignored his calling her 'little missy,' deciding she was in too good of a mood to call him on it. "Have you tried asking one of the lovely ladies of the night? They all talk to each other, you know. Keep tabs on one another, make sure they're all safe. Pay them a pretty penny and I'm sure you'll get some quality information. They pay more attention than most people out here." She turned back to the bartender, impatiently drumming her fingers on the counter. He had about another minute before she lost her temper at him. I hope Colette's alright outside... Maybe I should have brought her in?

I puff on my cigar once again while replying to the girl, "I have already asked about everyone around and they just give ridiculous or retarded answers. Their was this kid I saw jump up on a building chasing some weird creature." I think to myself, "Maybe that kid knows about my contact?"

"Se7en, hm? That's an interestin' name. Would I be wrong in assumin' it's not your real name? And I'm truly sorry if I offended you by askin' if you were trippin'. You have to understand; out here, it's a common sight."

Annie's grin widened at his questions and she tilted her head to the side, winking at him, "Well, aren't you a curious fella? Don't you wanna save some of the mystery for later?" Her eyes dropped down to his hands, watching him link together bits and pieces without looking.

Clem absentmindedly waved off the cigar smoke that swirled around her, her drumming becoming more impatient. "A weird creature? What kind of creature?" She glanced back at the bartender, who had yet to come over and take her order. He was down to roughly thirty seconds by her count.

I finish off my drink and I burn out my cigar on the counter of the bar. "Thanks for the drink." I get off my stool and put on my fedora. "Oh by the way little girl? What's your sweet, little name?"

Rolling her eyes at the older man's uncivilized behavior she turned to him and responded in a flat voice, "My name is none of your fucking business, gramps." She stood from her chair as well, tugging the tight skirt of her dress down, turning her back to him, and stalking over to the bartender. She placed a hand on her hip and leaned over the counter, saying in a low voice, "Look, all I want is an overpriced bottle of water. Toss it over, I'll close out, and be out of your hair in a second."

I chuckle at the girl as I head towards the exit. I look back at the girl and smirk on my way out. I tell the girl before I leave, "Nice meeting ya, I'll probably see you again at some point see ya!" After I say that I open the door to the bar and walk out.

"Well it's on my birth certificate so it's as real as it gets i guess" I put the contraption back in the toolkit and began looking around for any bits and pieces like screws and gears. "I'm sixteen, you can stop talking to me like I'm twelve" I spoke in the nicest voice I could utter that sentence "also. I should really get going I really need to go find a socket wrench and some spray paint" I continued to look around for parts while tapping my leg my ADHD starting to make me anxious to move. Thinking to myself "She's trying to be nice you idiot say something politely"

Barely acknowledging the man, she waved in his general direction and said, "Yeah, sure. Whatever you say." Snatching up the water bottle and tossing her money on the counter, Clem spun on her heel and hurried out of the bar. She only got a few steps out of the door before she ground to a halt, looking around. Colette was nowhere to be found. "Fuck!" she growled to herself, turning in a circle, water bottle in hand. "Colette!! Where the fuck are you?" She called, looking for a flash of pink hair.

"You are awfully defensive, you know that? I'm not tryin' to treat you like a kid, I'm tryin' to find a nice way to avoid answerin' your questions." She rolled her shoulders back to stretch them out and then winced, sucking in air through her teeth. Pulling back her shirt she groaned softly at the sight of an ugly bruise forming on her shoulder where the man hand shoved his fist into her. Speaking of... She pulled her phone out and tapped at it before sighing in relief. "Hey, there aren't any active cameras nearby but we really should get goin' darlin'. Uhm..." She glanced at the body on the ground and shivered, "We shouldn't be around when his buddy comes back..."

As I walk down the street I step in a puddle. As I look down I see my reflection in the puddle. "Huh, guess I need to shave, I'd look a hell of a lot younger." Once I look up I see a pinked hair looking girl on the other side of the street walking by. "Huh, she looks like the girl in the bar." I ignore her and walk to the abandoned building and inter the complex heading towards my room where I have been staying the last few days. I sigh, "Its great to be home."

I stopped tapping and looked at her "I'm awfully defensive because I've grown up alone on the streets of Chicago, You get it now?" I looked up "Well I'm going to go find a nice heating vent to curl up beside for the night. Have a good one" I turned on my heel and began walking out of the alley before stopping at the edge and turning back around and running past the girl grabbing her wrist softly "Cops, Do you know anything about Parkour?" I asked urgently with genuine fear in my eyes.

Her smile faltered slightly at his response, and she resisted the urge to sigh as she felt a familiar tug at her heart. She always did have a soft spot for people like her. Now it all makes sense...

Brought out of her train of thought as he grabbed her, Annie blinked and stared down at her wrist for a fraction of a second before looking back up at him. Her face broke into a soft, genuine smile and she shook her head. "I'm afraid not darlin'. But cops ain't a problem from me. I'll distract 'em, and you get out of here?" She pulled off her backpack and slipped her gun inside before handing it to him, "Take this with you, meet me about five blocks west of here? There's a nice little diner, Millie's; I'll get us some dinner as an apology for bein' so rude to you tonight."

I shook my head quickly as my breathing increased "they know my sound makers... They'll put you in cuffs" I rubbed my wrists subconsciously as if remembering something as I looked up at all of thE windows I had broken "we can ma-" "Found him! Hes down here!!"  I grasped her backpack with one hand and threw out the device from earlier with he other. It sparked just as two cops rounded the corner guns drawn and exploded into pieces around their feet as I pulled Annie into an adjacent alley a gear lodging itself in the wall now directly in front of us having passed right through where she was standing it would have killed her most likely. Shaking horribly I looked at her silently. The cops groaning at the entrance to the alleyway.

Annie gasped as he pulled her into another part of the alley, jumping slightly at the sound of the device exploding behind them. "Wh-what did you do...?" She whispered softly, staring at him wide-eyed, resisting the urge to peak around the corner at the two cops that had followed them. She hoped they were okay, but a feeling deep in the pit of her stomach told her otherwise. "Hun, I'm a grifter. Foolin' the police is a piece of cake for me, I do it all the time. And I can get out of cuffs no problem."

Pulling out her phone again she typed at the screen for a few moments before putting the device away. "Okay, uh, ambulance will be here soon for them. If we can make it through the buildin' at the end of the alley, and take a left out the other side, we'll manage to avoid the cameras for a bit." She bit her lip, her eyebrows knit together. "Only problem is that that's where my meetin' had been earlier... I don't know if it'll be safe."

~Colette~

“Hi! You look lovely in that dress!” Colette complimented yet another walking down the street, who smiled back and voiced their thanks. Her own grin widened and she hugged Clem’s arm tightly, giggling. With a little alcohol, Colette usually went one of two ways; incredibly friendly, or incredibly anxious. And right now, she wanted to talk to everyone. She was so caught up in complimenting people that she barely noticed Clem untangling herself from until she was talking.

Colette waved happily at Clem as her friend entered the bar, turning around and facing the street. She had been alone for less than a minute when she felt an oddly familiar tingle down her spine. Wind magic…? She looked around, not seeing anything, but the feeling grew more insistent, and she had to follow it. A nagging feeling in the back of her mind said she should wait for Clem, but she’d never felt magic like hers before, and her curiosity, and the alcohol, was winning over.

Colette had no trouble running around in her heels; she did love wearing them regularly, after all. Following the feeling in her gut, it didn’t take her very long to find the source of the magic she was feeling. She’d ended up in a place that was a lot less busy than where she’d been before, and a lot more dimly lit. Jumping up and down excitedly, she waved at the man using the wind magic and said a little too loudly, “Wow, that’s amazing! I’ve never met anyone that can do that!”

@Ryan Ports

As Ryan looked down at the dingy streets, a few sketchy looking folks still moving around through alleyways and on the sidewalks, he noticed an echoing sound begin to come to he attention. He looked around the streets and soon realized a woman looking up at him, her high heels loudly stomping against the concrete. She soon began to yell up at him, acting oddly casual about him flying almost 60 feet up in the air. "Oh boy..." Ryan mumbled, realizing this could only end badly. Knowing that this was Vegas, the woman would probably try tricking him into starting some freak show or ask for a free ride on his back or something like that. At the worst, she could be a crazed killer out for his head.  "Screw it! I'm bored anyway!" Ryan suddenly said quietly to himself as he flew down towards the woman, leaving his common sense in the air.

As he touched the ground, he looked over at the woman, who was standing about 10 feet away, and quickly assessed what to think of them. "Drunk obviously, but must have been this way for a while. In a bad part of town and alone... possibly left behind by a friend? Safe? ...Yes." Ryan walked a little closer towards the woman, extending his hand out for a handshake. "You must have a good eye to of noticed me. Nice to meet you miss!" He said cheerfully. Despite his tone and facial expression, he stayed alert, not sure of what to make of the odd woman in front of him. "How DID she notice me?"

Colette giggled softly as the man spoke to her, her cheeks flushed pink from the alcohol and her eyes bright. She took a step forward, getting just a little too close, and slipped her hand in his, excitedly pumping it up in down in a handshake. "Awe, thank you! My optometrist did always say I had good eyes!"

Letting go of his hand and adjusting the strap of her purse on her shoulder, she bounced up and down again, her grin getting even wider. "You can use wind magic, right? That's really cool!! How did you learn to control it so well?" She paused and hiccuped, covering her mouth and giggling again. "Oh! How rude of me! My name is Colette."

I looked at the girl shocked "I... I swear they aren't dead... I swear..." my expression changed to panic as the inner teenager finally found his way to the surface, I began to shake even worse and breathing heavier "It's safer than here I guess..." I started walking to the building she had mentioned, letting go of her forearm and popped my neck taking a deep breath and at that the shaking stopped and my breathing eased, My expression returning to it's normal, Void of emotions.

Sighing in relief at his explanation, Annie's smile returned to her face. "Oh thank goodness! I wasn't sure, after, uhm... The guy you took out earlier." She glanced down as he let go of her, not even noticing that his hand had still been wrapped around her arm. Her eyes flicked back up noticing his rapid change in demeanor and wondering if she should ask him about it. Deciding against it, she walked speedily to catch up with him.

"Ever thought of makin' devices that don't harm people? Like, a flash bomb? Or a noise maker that isn't quite so effective? I swear my ears are still ringin'..." Even though she wasn't letting on, Annie was quite nervous. The two men that had come out into the alley hadn't been the only ones there earlier, and they were likely pissed as hell after what just happened. "Hey darlin', hold still a second. Lemme get somethin' outta my bag. Also, I can carry it now."

"my devices don't kill people. I tend to get carried away..." my voice and face emotionless i held the bag out for her glancing back to look her in the eyes before turning back a split second later. "I've never killed anyone with my devices... that one was a dud" I clenched and unclenched my hands then bent down to pick up a handful of screws from the ground and threw them in the toolkit "Are you manipulating me in any way right now?" I looked back up at her as i spoke the last sentence this time allowing my eyes to rest on hers.

"Carried away?" she said teasingly, "I never would have guessed..." Taking the bag from him, she crouched down on the ground and unzipped it, rummaging around the contents. Pulling out her gun first and tucking it away, she also systematically pulled out several more small gadgets. Hearing his question, Annie's eyebrows shot up and she laughed in surprise, pausing from digging around her bag to look up at him. Quiet for a moment, her eyes searching his, she saw that he was serious, and she tilted her head before asking, "Manipulatin'? What do you mean, darlin'?"

"Well you said your'e a grifter, so I figure..." I looked around the alleyway "You could be talking me into a trap/ You obviously know I'm hungry, how do I know you aren't lying to me right now. There could be cops on the other side of that door" I gestured vaguely to the door at the end of the alley and my expression flickered into a grimace for a split second before changing back to the expressionless usual. My fingers tightened around my new gun as I spoke.
