"Well that tends to be the case when a power hasn't been mastered... Cheshire used to mist into walls all the time..."

"I was just a kitten you know..."

The female responded to the fairy with little effort. She had some very keen hearing, an advantage in the line of work she had taken up. She smiled sagiciously at Cheshire, who's voice was yet decidely masculine. Reaching into her hat she retrieved, one after another, 3 normal saucers, 2 normal tea cups, a bowl of sugar, a small pot of cream, and finally a saucer and cup suited for the fairies tiny size. She beganpouring tea, somehow managing to perfectly fill each cup, even the tiny one with a single pour.

Oh what a lovely scent... This tea

seems lovely... Now then to figure out the proper balance of creams and sugars...

Caterina looked up at Madd shocked and quickly flew up to her. "You can understand me? You don't hear little bells when I talk?" she asked, the bells to anyone else sounding fast and, you could say, joyful.

"You can understand her?!?" Asked Athena in shock. Not knowing Caterina had just asked the same question. "I umm don't drink tea often so whatever you feel is best I'm sure would be great for me thanks" Athena said smiling

"The possum is roman's apparently... Isn't it funny looking?"

Giggling even more as the possum shifted its weight and liked Crimson, she softly patted it's head, "I wonder where his family is..."

Roman put his arm out near her shoulder and the possum ran across it and then moved to Ebony. It then started trying to be very nice and sweet that is until it stole her tiara and fled back to Roman who simply handed it back to Ebony.

Sad that possum left her Crimson's mood dropped but watching the little thief Crimson laughed again. Carefully she brought a small animal fromher pocket and laid it down in the grass, "Come on wake up little buddy!"

Madd didnt respond immediately instead she took a sip of her tea. She seemed thoughtful for a moment before she once again began her sporadic movements. She quickly topped off the tea cups with cream and sugar, pouring more cream than anything else into Cheshire's bowl. Indicating the cups of tea to her companions she picked up her own. Rubbing Cheshire's back with one hand she watched Dor resume his floatin position, tail around her waist, before took a sip of her tea.

"Well of course I can... Why, is it because you speak so swiftly... I'm a rather fast talker myself... Oh and do drink your tea before it gets cold... There's nothing worse than cold tea...."

Such interesting people...

I wonder if they like hats... But this tea truly is simply divine...

Ebony grinned, placing the tiara back on her head. Figuring she might as well answer Crimson's question about where his home was, she asked him. "Where are you from?" she asked the possum.

The possum started to respond in a series of small clicking noises. "We came from the book inkheart." The possum responded while looking at her it then went back onto her shoulder this time just to be loving. "My father owned a possum and it had babies while I was young. Now the two of us stay together since we were raised together." Roman said blocking the possum from getting into one of his pockets.

Ebony smiled at the animal, petting it's fur. "Inkheart, huh." she said. "I think I've heard of that book."

Athena took the tea and took a sip. "Mmm this tea is delicious Madd!" Athena said surprised. "So if Caterina learns how to use her powers better will I be able to hear her speak?!" Athena asked Madd ask she continued to down the tea

Madd took another sip of her tea. Lowering it from her lips she uttered a soft sigh. With languid ease she swept her hat from her head. Her hair was as unruly as always. She had inherited her mother's long hair but the bright orange hue and unruly curls from her father. Running one hand through her hair the other tired the cup into the hat. The tiny cup began to empty out more tea then should possibly be within it.

"Hmm...? Is that a riddle of some sort... Allow me to answer you like this... Why is a raven like a writing desk....?"

I do so love riddles... But my tea is cold... Ah well I suppose now a smoke will have to do...

Lost for a moment Athena thought about what Madd was saying. "So you mean you have not idea?" Athena said feeling deflated.

Madd chuckled softly, giving the cup a firm shake she made sure it was empty before setting it back in the saucer. Reaching in to her hat she withdrew a cigarette case. Snapping it open she withdrew a slender black cigarette. Lifting it to her lips she flipped her hat back on top of her head. Producing a match she struck it on the brim of her hat and lit the cigarette. She inhaled holding it in for a moment before breathing out a plume of pale blue smoke. The smoke itself had a light sweet scent to it.

"Understanding is all a matter of perception... At least that is what my mother used to say..."

"In other words she doesn't hear her how you do so she wouldnt know..."

Ah Cheshire...always ruining my vague riddles... That is no fun... But I do not.understand what they here when the fairy talks... She sounds normal to me... Ah the cigarettes Absolem gave me are wonderful...

"Oh...." sighed athena. "Well as far as a plan! Has anyone thought of one?!" Asked Athena loud enough to what she figured everyone could hear.

Roman gave a nod but jumped a little as the possum bit his fingers and pulled out the book from his pocket. It them lept to Ebony and opened the book to the front page where a picture was missing and the title read. " Life as a fire breather." The picture had been of Roman's father.

Ebony chuckled, reaching up to pet the possum before looking at the picture. "So who is that supposed to be then? Father?" she asked, looking at the details.

"Yes my father the thief and a mouthful of fire." Roman said looking at the book with a worried expression. "He hated leaving that book and now he's been forced out."

"How come?" Ebony asked. "I mean, why did he hate leaving?" she wondered. If anything, she would've thought that leaving would have been desirable.

"Because when he left he learned the end of the book. Where he died." Roman said knowing that it wasn't that bad since his father could avoid the end of the book.

"Oh," she said startled, feeling a bit sad. "Well, wouldn't he be glad to have left than? Then he wouldn't reach the end of the book." she thought aloud.

"It's hard to understand why he felt what he did." Roman said looking at a bit of blood on his fingers then the possum. "Ronnie look what you did!" He said and the possum started trying to defend it's actions.

Ebony nodded slowly, thinking that he was right. It was hard to understand. At Roman's shout, she gasped. "Are you okay?" she asked, grabbing his hand. "Ronnie," she called, assuming it was the possum's name. "You shouldn't bit your friends."

The possum huffed at them both before running off to the woods. "He is such a hothead." Roman said looking at his fingers as he put the book away.

Frowning, Ebony looked after him. "I hope he'll be okay....There are plenty of wolves and foxes around here..." she trailed off before brightening. Letting go of Roman's hand, she hurried to the edge of the trees and whistled twice. A moment after her whistle, a fox and a wolf appeared and she crouched whispering to them. After a moment they seemed to nod before running off.
