He answered her while admiring his latest work that speckled her skin. "Noire, while you were away, was strangely ambitious for a mortal. While she still remained at the top of her class, she took on many projects, studying creatures, trying to figure out the advantages of their build and how to incorporate them into their own society. Curiosity made her a bit selfish," he commented with a shrug, "and by chance I became one of the creatures she wished to...exploit." The pause was purposeful, the word rolling like silk as the wisp's gaze swept to the side, entailing of the promiscuity that had occurred between them in the past.
Eyes darkened with sly satisfaction, he continued. "As wisps we have the ability to draw others to ourselves. Victims are simply put under a guise and they simply follow. It is rare for them to be impervious otherwise. Noire did not wish to find a spell to replicate it - for many had of those had been created in the past - but to break it. Let me remind you: Once a wisp has you it is almost impossible to break," Vahl paused, recalling briefly of Ellie's resilience, "almost. So she asked for my aide, desperate to find a solution. She broke a few of my lights as a result, and, in a manner of speaking, I broke her as well, though that took place in the bedroom."
