"Well, what kind of previous experience have you had working in a service setting?" Vincent asked, intertwining his fingers with Ellie's behind the counter, "Also, what is your stance on the hunter situation?"

"Well I used to work for the big man down stairs doing anything he tells me. With my species it was usually dirty jobs. He let me free and so I've come here." Axton could sense his affection for her. "What hunter situation?" He was completely oblivious.

"Yeah, Incubus, right?" The demon asked, shaking his head with a small frown. I didn't really know if hiring an incubus into the cafe, where he would be around people the whole night, would be a wise decision. However, they needed more people. "We know of a half succubus, actually," He mentioned distractedly, his mind racing. "Anyway, the hunter situation... that's a loaded question. Basically, the gist of it is that you need to be careful while out an about. There are humans who call themselves 'monster hunters' who would like nothing more than to add you to their already long list of kills."

"Yeah, Incubus, right?" The demon asked, shaking his head with a small frown. Axton frowned at the hunter thing. "Don't worry I should be fine. Also don't worry about me being an Incubus work comes first. Other matters are for outside the working environment." He was no longer nervous but rather confident.

"Then why don't you try a test shift tonight, and we'll see how you do." Vincent smiled, inclining his head, "That way, we'll be able to see how you handle yourself in the position, anyway." The demon turned to Ellie, nodding, "Or, what do you think?"

Ellie nodded smiling at Axton, " Yeah, You can at least give him a chance," she giggled, laying her head on the bar.

Axton smiled. "Thank you so much I won't let you down." He Stafford his tail around his waist. "So what now?" (Brb guys I gotta go to the dump)

"We'll just chill until sunset, I think," Vincent replied with a grin, "We usually open then, however, we haven't been open much these last few days because of some issues. So there may not be much traffic tonight, unfortunately." He told the man with a shrug, "Should make it easier for you to get settled in, though. Coffee or tea?"

"Nah, don't bother," The demon waved away the guys money, shaking his head, "It's 3.50, but since we're not technically open yet, taking your money would be pointless." Vincent started the electric tea kettle with a small grin, "Do you take anything special? We have everything from soul residue for people, like me, who can't stomach anything without it, to frog spawn. Just name it." He gestured to the ingredient shelf behind him.

"No thanks. If you can make it sweet would be perfect." He said smiling as he put the money back. "Don't worry I'll work off the tea then." He hated the thought of getting free things. He felt like it was a debt and he always cashed in his debts.

"Never understood the thing about sweet tea," Vincent murmured as he stirred in a few spoons of sugar, watching the white substance dissolve into the hot liquid, "But you like sugary tea, don't you, Ellie?" He asked, looking over at the witch curiously before handing the cup over to the incubus.

He took the tea and slowly drank. "Perfect thank you." He smiled and looked around. "I love how it's hidden in plain sight. It's just so.... hmm I don't knkw how to describe it." Her turned to Ellie. "I forgot to properly introduce myself sorry. I'm Axton and don't worry about the inncubis thing I'll keep myself in check."

"I'm Ellinor, but everyone calls me Ellie," she smiled at him, reaching out her hand for him to shake.

Alexander had fallen asleep aswell for awhile, he woke up when a servant came in setting down clothes for Akira. Alexander nodded in thanks to the Servant as the Servant bowed and left.


Alexander smiled looking at Akira's sleeping face. He brushed a strand of hair back her eyes fluttered open. Alexander smiled as she sat up yawning


He wrapped his arms around her waist resting his chin on her head. She looked up best she could at him as he spoke "Hey sleeping beauty. how do you feel?"


Akira smiled "Great, I feel refreshed and energized. Its the best I've slept ever since..." she shook her head sighing


Alexander smiled sadly but didn't say a word. Akira noticed on her finger was an engagement ring her eyes widened "Alex is this...?"


Alexander chuckled "Yes, its an engagement ring. Well.. you always talked about when you did get engaged one day you wanted a ring like humans


always have when they get engaged and you even wanted a human - fairy mix wedding. You always have been fascinated by humans."


Akira smiled giggling turning around surprising Alexander with a kiss "Thank you Alex, this means a lot to me"


Alexander smiled "Anything for my little bird" he sighed "You should get dressed a Servant brought in clothes for you."


Akira nodded and hopped off the bed grabbing the dress and shoes going into the connected bathroom to change.


Alexander quickly stood up


he pulled a box out from under the bed opening it to reveal a beautiful bird hair clip. Akira soon came out and he handed the gift to her


"I never managed to give this to you on your birthday so.. happy late birthday Akira" Akira smiled and hugged him before putting it in her hair


Alexander smiled and went to the bathroom changing into his clothes before coming out and speaking once more.


"What are you going to do about the Cafe and your job there?" Akira's face fell and she sighed


"I'm going to quit my job, and by quitting it I'll leave the cafe and everyone there behind in the past and move on with my life..." she smiled turning to him


"with you" Alexander smiled softly "if that is what you wish to do, I shall support your decision."


Akira smiled brightly as Alexander grabbed and kissed her hand "Shall we go do that now my princess?"


Akira blushed but nodded "We should get it over with as soon as possible" Alexander sighed and led her to the portal room


he opened the portal to right outside the cafe. Akira smiled looking over at Alexander but it was obvious she was nervous.


Alexander put his hand on her shoulder "Remember I'm here with you, it'll be fine" Akira nodded, took a deep breath and


together they walked up to the cafe door and entered.

"And so there's Ellie, who's the waitress, along with Spooks, Seera, a ghost, who's the cook," Vincent thought a little, tapping his index finger against his bottom lip, "And Akira, who's the assistant manager." He gave Axton a small grin as he finished going through the list of employees, figuring that the incubus should probably know who he would be working with. "And I'm just the bartender." He added, chuckling slightly.


He looked up as the bell over the door rang out, expecting to see... well, anybody other than who walked through the door. He gave a pleasant smile at the couple, waving a little awkwardly. "Hi guys," He called out, gesturing to the incubus, "Lookie, we got ourselves a new waiter. Axton, this is Akira, the assistant manager I told you about, Akira, this is Axton, the new waiter."

Akira turned her head slightly to Alexander and he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, Akira turned back to Vincent "I just want to say thank you for giving me a job when I needed help Vincent... But I also am here to end things. I'm quitting my job here at the Cafe that way I can leave you all in the past and move on." She sighed "I do appreciate what you've done for me, However I can't stay here any longer. I have a kingdom to run" She lifted her hand showing the ring "And of course a wedding to eventually plan. Besides I don't belong here, I was a fool to think I could become everyone's friend." She smiled sadly She turned to Axton "Good luck with your job here Axton." she sighed and turned to Alexander grabbing his hand as they walked towards the door out.

"Hold the fucking phone!" Vincent called out, causing the two of them to stop. He walked over to the other side of the bar, crossing his stitched arms over his chest while glaring at them, his eyes narrowing. "I get that you have super important queen stuff to do, and this whole marriage thing to take care of," He began, pursing his lips in annoyance, "But you can't just... enter like that, say 'Oh, I have to quit, sorry Vince,' and then turn around and leave!"


The demon threw his arms out to the side, emphasizing his shock, "I mean, really? No, 'how are you doing?' Or even a 'What's up'?" The demon realized he was sounding crazy now, but the stress of the day was finally starting to take a toll on his sanity, so he didn't really care, "Rude, first of all! And then you go and top it off with spouting some nonsense about us not being your friends? What the hell, Akira?"

Akira and Alexander turned around. Akira glared coldly at Vincent "Oh, So I'm supposed to ask you how you are doing? Well I'm oh so damn sorry." she seethed


"Would friends be like Maria and always yell at me and accuse me of immoral or disgusting things all the time and hate me for no good god damn reason? Would friends


stand by and let others be A**holes to me? Would friends not be there for me when I up and become and orphan on my BIRTHDAY? I CAN'T trust ANY of you. I don't know


any of you, I don't think I EVER did. All you guys have ever done is hate and hurt me so how could ANY of you claim to be my friends? HOW? WELL?!" by now her hair had gone a deep


deep shade of blue flickering to a fiery red once in awhile. "How can I trust any of you when, when I am not around you guys hurt the people I care about and when I am around you guys hurt me? I can never trust any of you and I feel like a fool for EVER thinking any of you were my FRIENDS."


Alexander moved forward as he noticed tears forming in her eyes and pulled her to him hiding her face in his chest glaring at Vincent in warning.

"Excuse me?" Vincent asked, raising an eyebrow at her outburst, his eyes flashing, "When the hell have I ever accused you of anything? For that matter, when have I ever hurt you?" The demon took a step back, feeling the muscles shift under his skin, his emotions getting the better of him. He took a deep, calming breath and forced himself to think 'happy thoughts', else he would transform right then and there and he really didn't think that would help the situation much.


"I'm sorry you feel like you can't trust us," He finally said, his fists clenching around the bandages, "And I'm sorry about your father." Vincent looked straight at her, his eyes softening somewhat, "And I'm sorry for not having the brains to stop drunken witches from insulting you." The demon let out a sigh, a small, strained smile forming on his lips as he looked upon his soon to be ex assistant. "And," He said, inclining his head sadly, "I'm sorry you don't feel welcome here. I'm going to miss you, is what I was trying to say before. I just let my frustrations with the day get the best of me, I'm afraid."


Vincent walked over to the bar, digging around underneath the counter for a bit. He emerged with a piece of parchment and a pen a second later, placing it on the counter. "This is your employment contract," He explained, gesturing to it, "I never had you sign it, because a lot of stuff happened after I hired you, so I actually forgot." He chuckled dryly, "Anyway, you can sign at the bottom if you really feel like you want to quit. I'm not going to stop you."


He pushed the paper towards her, not looking at the fairy. The parchment was very simple, it was just a contract where she would have signed her name on the top when she first got the job, and at the bottom when she quit. It wasn't overly complicated, and it had no small text. He glanced up with a genuine smile "I hope you find a happier life, you living mood ring."

Ellie stood up at hugged Akira tears running down her face, " I really want you to stay, but if you have to go to be happy then I'll support you!" she smiled encouragingly at the girl.

Akira's eyes widened as she stared at the parchment everything Vincent just said and his facial expressions running through her mind. For the longest while she just stared at it then she spoke to Alexander through their minds. (Pink = Akira, Blue - Alexander)


'Alex..I don't know what to do!'


'What do you want to do?'


'I..I don't know!'


'Do you want to stay?'


'I..I do but... they'll hurt me again.'


Alexander was about to respond when their connection was broken by Ellie hugging her crying Akira's eyes widened.Akira turned her head to Alexander the look in


her eyes saying everything, he smiled nodding encouragingly Akira pushed Ellie away gently keeping her face impassive as she picked up the pen she covered the paper as


she signed the top so no one would see what she did and she handed it to Vincent grabbing Alexander's hand turning a smirk on her face as she walked towards the door once again


with him in the corner of the page was "One last chance"

As the door closed behind them, Vincent looked down on the parchment she had thrust into his hand. A grin began spreading on his face as he saw her name scribbled down elegantly, not at the bottom of the page as he had expected, but rather, on the top, right next to Assistant Manager. Maybe the group had a chance of surviving after all. With a small laugh he handed the parchment to Ellie, his eyes shining with amusement.

Ellie smiled looking at Vinny, tears still welling in her eyes when she saw what Akira wrote, " I think we still have a fighting chance," she smiled kissing Vinny on the cheek.
