Magic and Void

Question, how strong would the compulsion for destruction be with Void? I usually prefer a darker brand of magic, and it sounds like ti would be under the void type of spells, rather than pure magic. I could easily work a darker mentality into the void spread, but I wouldn't want to kick puppies and hurl babies into fire pits, ye know?

Void can be as terrible or destructive as it needs to be. xD Go wild!
 
Afraid my question didn't communicate my inquiry well enough. It says that void users are not only evil, but compelled to do evil as they continue to use void energy to suel their spells. But it also says they retain free will. So looking for kind of a 'Lawful Evil' kind of character, one who is something like a hand of destruction to make way for better things, in his own dark and damned way.Would I be able to run a Void user he is evil for good's sake, or does it have to be evil for evil's sake?

Ah I see! You're asking if the Void Wizard can be evil but he believes (Or perhaps is) he is doing good by being evil?
 
Something like that. a neccessary evil to help keep balance between his corruption and his sanity. I'm thinking that he'll be a darker individual who doesn't feel the need to rampage and slaughter, but still walks the road of shadows, dealing in dark power and secrets.

Probably a mix of both. There will be two headquarters (Magic and Void) but it's not an academy. Mainly a place to replenish supplies or just hang out with each Circle members.
 
mm ok so for like you characters will there be like say teachers to teach the younger mages? 
and are there levels of mastery like arch mage etc?

I'm thinking..there will be older wizards but it depends on other characters if they are willing to teach the younger ones. Learning a separate Element is a wizards own task but learning how to channel spells and learn how to harness Magic/Void can be taught by other veteran wizards. 
There can be but there isn't going to be an official list. The only official rank (Unattainable by users) are Elders (NPCs strictly) Old Wizards who have retired from fighting and are mainly teachers.
 
so you could learn a separate magic? or combine two? the idea i'm playing with is something like storm magic that combines say wind water and electricity if that is considered a element. how does that sound?

Learning a different Element? No. It's strictly one element. However, two Elements CAN be combined to create a different SPELL but you would need two or more characters.


Wizards however can only learn one Element (Due to contracts) so combining two Elements to create a new one wouldn't work as a solo wizard.

well i will try but since a storm is multiple parts it can be rain storm wind storm tornado hail thunder etc.

Okay just try to stick with one so other characters have the chance to have their own Element.

Yeah actually it's fine just try not to counter everyone. I remembered that I was going allow people to be the same Element if they wanted so you're fine.

A contract is formed by signing a scroll that symbolizes the bridge from Magic to Magic Element to Humans.


An Element doesn't necessarily mean it has to be an element (i.e. Water, Fire) It could be Healing Element, Undead Element, Summoning Element.
