Cassidy waved goodbye to Jack, as she plopped herself onto the couch that was in the office. She saw Jade over to the side and was flirting with somebody, it made her mad to see that after all her father and she were married. Weren’t you supposed to be faithful when you are married? It was something that her 14-year-old mind had trouble wrapping around, after all despite her father trying his best to shelter her from the horrible things people did, there were still the things she did see.

After a few more minutes of watching her stepmom, Cassidy could not take it any longer and she got up from her spot. Stepping outside the door, she hesitated to go any further as she did not want her father to be mad, but at the same time she had not had breakfast and was very hungry. Deciding on not starving, she made her way down to the restaurant area and quickly began to look at the menu. She could hear her stomach growling, as she pulled out the allowance she got from her father.

“What should I get to eat…..” She mumbled to herself, the morning had not gone well for her and she wondered if the food might help her feel better.

Zena sat on the roof of the building across from the casino, he was watching the ongoings of the place. He had gotten a glimpse of Jade and his target Cassidy. Why was he after a child? Seemed trivial to most, but she was the daughter of owner, probably his most prized possession? A smirk lingered on his face, as he picked up his untraceable cell phone, he decided it was time to play a little game with the cops and the casino.

He had known somebody at the police station because a while back, he had been known to be friendly to them. While doing so, he had met a young officer by the name of Ariana and he even was able get her private number. He began to text that number, all the while watching the casino and laughing. “There is going to be kidnapping at the Crimson rose…. Just thought you would like now, of course you can ignore the message and who knows what will happen…..” He pressed send before getting his own private phone and messaging Nikki. “I’ll be in a little later, I’m having fun with the crimson rose and the police….” He pressed send and laid back, never had he been more proud .

The minute Nikki turned her back, Romeo left the club. He had a job to do and he knew how to do it, once he was on the bus he texted Axel, "I'm going Make them talk." He knew that Nikki would see it eventually as well. As he was on the way to the casino he texted Cassidy as well, "that really sucks! She's such a bitch!" Putting the phone away he clutched the switchblade he carried in his pocket. As the casino came into view he exited the bus and stared at the entrance, it was time.

Jade was way too busy to notice at first that Cassidy had never arrived, then she was too busy to notice she had arrived and then disappeared again. In her mind the consequences that her stepdaughter could end up hurt or kidnap never even occurred to her. She was flirting with a handsome young man that worked at the casino, she didn’t even care that her stepdaughter had seen her and was quite upset about it. “Well, you know I have a lot of free time lately, if you want to come to my private room later is my address….” She giggled, but finally moved away from the man as she didn’t want to get caught flirting, even though she was pretty sure Kaden knew she had affairs as she knew he did. She grabbed a cigarette and lit, sucking in on it before blowing it out. “Geez, where is the husband of mine!”

Arian wasn't taking a sip of coffee as her phone vibrated, letting her know that some mystery person had contacted her, after all no one else ever texted her. Looking at the words had her frowning, while she had no doubt there would be a kid napping, she couldn't go in there guns blazing. She thought of the crime boss who ruled the casino and immeaditly jumped to the wife and girl, both would be great bargaining chips for any scumbag that wanted leverage. "I will see you shortly." She sent the text to the mystery person and went about to collect a small team, she would have to work quickly if she wanted to beat him.

Kaden narrowed his eyes at the retreating Merui. Not even moving his glance to Jessica, he responded "Don't worry your pretty little head about that. You job is to manage, let me worry about who gets hired and fired in this place. Now get back to work."

Thinking the already spent too much time away from his family, Kaden decided to make his way up to his office. Quickly, he slipped into the room, but then he noticed that his daughter wasn't there, despite what he had told her. "Jade... where is Cassidy? I swear, would it hurt you to at least act like you care about her? I know she's not your biological child but that doesn't mean you get to treat her like shit. I mean, look at me, Robin isn't my biological son but I still treat him with respect. Is that really too much to ask for?"

Jade should’ve known this was going to happen, she didn’t want to fight with Kaden, after all he’s the reason she got to live so nicely. She rolled her eyes, letting out a sigh as she listened to what he had to say. Still, if she wanted to keep this lifestyle and everything is included, she had to start at least acting like her stepdaughter matter. When they were alone, she could treat her however she pleased, but when around her husband she needed to be a little nicer.

“Look, I am sorry that I lost track of her….” Jade paused a moment, getting closer to her husband as she let her fingers trail along his suit. “Plus think about it, Dear…. You really think she would’ve stayed here if I wanted her to? I’m not going to criticize her, but she is a lot like you…. In many ways….” She smirked, giving him a sweet look as she tried to sweettalk her way out of a fight.

Merui finally made it to her destination and was quite tired. She was in the back with some of the waitresses she worked with. She was talking to one of them telling her what happen. "Really Merui it's amazing you still work here." Merui stood up and stretched. "I might not be after today." The girl looked at Merui and smiled. Robin twisted and turned in his sleep, gasping in his sleep. The terror that filled his eyes was unimaginable, something he feared greater than anything else. Before he could get a grasp on what this truly was though, his sleep was interrupted by the nearly silent footsteps of his father walking down the stairs of their mansion. Immediately, a chill traveled up his spine as his eyes blinked open. Robin got up, pushing his sheets off of himself as he glanced down the stairs. He could only see the back of his step-father's head, ducking as the man took a glance back at him. Silenced, he rushed towards his room and checked the time. "Three fucking AM, dad?" He asked himself before sliding on one of his hoodies instead of the multiple furcoats Kaden had bought him. He glanced down at his pajama trousers, shrugging as he slipped into some runners and raced downstairs. To his dismay, Kaden had just left, forcing him to run after the man.

Robin waited a second, watching Kaden leave in a dark-coloured car through the door window. As the car went out of view, Robin opened the door, glanced back at the garage for a moment. No, he'll know I was there. I better not. Robin thought, before continuing the rest of the way on foot. He easily kept up, thanks to his knowledge of these parts of towns and various shortcuts. He watched as Kaden entered some sort of warehouse, accompanied by various bodyguards. "What could he be doing this early in the morning?" Robin asked, before shaking his head. It all couldn't add up. Robin would've attempted to sneak in if it wasn't for the armed guards waiting for him by the entrance, instead he decided it'd be best to retreat until something else happened.

Robin had returned home, resting in his bed for the time being. He couldn't quite get the sleep he hoped would help suppress the fear he was feeling now, and instead laid on his bed, eyes open as he scrolled through his phone. What else could a young adult do? With time he heard Kaden's footsteps once more, freezing him in place. As if that wasn't enough, his alarm had sounded, sighing as he turned to his side. When Jade came to check on him for not freshening up, he just replied that he'd be there soon and that they all leave without him.

After about thirty minutes of pondering, Robin got up and took a shower, making himself breakfast before wearing his clothes. Kaden had always said never to risk spilling food on attire, and suggested Robin eat before dressing up. Having done so, Robin put on a gray tuxedo, prepared for his first entrance at his step-dad's casino. He finally wore one of his dad's furcoats, a black one to be specific, paired with his silver rinestone piercings and a Rolex watch. With this, Robin sprayed on some cologne and continued downstairs to the garage, smiling at the array of cars. Even with his suspicions of Kaden, it had some perks being his step-son. Robin then glanced at the keypads, selecting the key that activated the family's silver Lamborghini Centenario, with a click, the car blinked alive as he entered it. Minutes later, he'd arrived at the casino.

Checking in was easy enough. As Robin walked in, he could feel the various people who were looking at him, smiling back at the younger girls. This was followed with giggles, widening his own smile. With that boost, he continued on, bumping into Jade on the way. "Hey, mum, made it." He said with a sigh, sliding his hands into his pocket as he glanced about the casino. "It's beautiful."

By this point Cassidy was extremely hungry, she was used to having meals privately or with her family, sometimes they would go out but not very often. She was still looking at the menu, everything sounded so good and then the woman came out and asked her what she wanted. Cassidy lowered her eyes, giving Merui a small smile. Her smile was sweet and innocent, but it also was genuinely happy even though she had a rough morning with her stepmom.

“Honestly, I’ve never eaten before…. What would you recommend for food? I like most anything and the only thing I’m allergic to seafood….” She said suddenly becoming worried that she put pressure on the worker, she had respect for people who work for her father, well most people. “I’m sorry…. I’m not trying to cause trouble…. I’m just really hungry! I got so excited to spend the day with my daddy that I forgot to grab breakfast!"

Jade was rather hurt by her husband’s rejection, but she never let it show and she watched as he left the room. “Not in public my ass…..” She mumbled, deciding to rest for a little bit on the couch and not help search for her missing stepdaughter. “I will get my husband’s attention….” She continued to mumble to herself, she gave an evil smile as she thought about how much he tried to protect her and how much Kaden didn’t know his daughter was actually seeing. Jade was evil enough, that she was even considering making things worse than they already were.

Jade felt extremely when Robin walked in, he was her pride and joy and the reason sometimes she kept on living. She smiled at her son, he was probably the only person that she would show genuine love to. “Ah! Son! I am so glad you have arrived!” She said walking over to give him a hug, grinning at how handsome he had turned out. “It has been a rough morning! Your stepsister has given us nothing but trouble!” She gave a dramatic look, as she put her hand on her forehead. “I’m trying my very best to be a good stepmom, but all she does is stammer on about her dead mother…..”

Once they got there Dorothy got out the car and thought for a moment. I got find that replacement before I head to his office. She turned to look at Eric. "Hey go without me got some things to do." With that she headed inside and while she had guys turning their heads just to look at her. "Morning boys!" Morning Dorothy!" They called back. Once she got inside she started scanning the girls. "Dang it, there was one girl who was complaining about needing more money. If I can just find her then she can be that dancer's replacement. What was her name....."

Her eyebrow twitched. "One moment." She got back up and delivered more orders. This happen about five times until she finally said, "Now Look I'm not the only here! You know I still haven't got this girl's order yet!" She sat back down and her head fell against the table. "........" Then she sat back up. "Ok! Now sorry um you wanted breakfast right? Jordan smiled as his mother embraced him, hugging the woman back. She hadn't always been there when he needed him though he knew she would always have the best intentions for him. When Jade started to mention Cassidy though, Robin rolled his eyes, letting out a sigh. "Oh, c'mon, ma. She's only fourteen, give her a break." He begged. He was honestly tired of Jade constantly picking on Cassidy, the fourteen year old had only just began calling him her brother. He watched as Jade's smile vanished, shaking his head jokingly as she smacked his own head. "Just telling you, ma." He added, followed by short laughs from the both of them.

Jordan and Jade then continued on conversing before Eric walked over an made the snarky remark: "Yes, says the woman threatened her with sending her to a French boarding school," He said. Jordan frowned at this, taking off his fur coat to reveal the gray tuxedo that lay underneath. Eric immediately grew pissed. Oh, how he wondered how he could possibly worship his God-forsaken mother. He walked up to the kid and said looking at him straight with a cold stare that was almost like Robin wasn't even there "Look, I want to know where your father is. I have business with him,"

A silhouette in dimmed lighting sat with dancing fingers across white tiles and black notes... The floor was his pianos keys and his music to which they danced were the rhythms he could create with his own talents and memory of how they moved. A head swaying to the beat, silence filling the air about him as only the notes were heard.

He was playing Mozarts Queen of the night Aria... early years flooding his mind with memories as his latest case closed in his mind and he arranged for the arrest to be made just hours ago. Technically it wasn't his case but he got bored and looked into a cold case from years ago.

This man was Detective Alexander James Volkov.... Aj for short. He often were a hat and fine three piece suits with a old pocket watch that's chain draped across his center to a vest pocket. He wasn't your average guy from lower New York and true be told he was a workaholic with a taste for music and classic cars while solving cases like Sherlock Holmes or rather a wanna be Sherlock Holmes. Meaning he didn't date much and vacation was a form of joke to him. But he did drink and that was a weakness of his as was working a new case.... he could never turn eiher down.

His tune went something like this as fingers danced across the keys of his grand piano.

Like he often does Volkov took his work home with him, so that he could play his piano and think. Music often helped him think and relax, clear his mind and see things with fresh eyes. Open up a new perspective a new window to peek through and see the truth as creepy as just last comparison sounded.

He was eccentric and in his own way charming too. Usually more so to the broadway crowd who could appreciate his classical tastes and stylings, though he did enjoy himself a bit of Bonnie Tyler and other genres of music too. But it was often Mozart and Beethoven that he played and knew best on the piano.

But as the hours passed and texts started coming in, hitting his phone like a roar of vibration atop his piano that was set on repeat like a old alarm. Aj finally took his phone gave a sigh with exhale of breath as he paused his playing, read some of the texts after unlocking the screen.

Apparently he was do for a visit in Ariana's office.... A piece of news maybe? A mistake made on a old case or recently solved one? They didn't catch a image of his mustang ignoring a Red light and speeding several miles past the limit again, did they?

Either way Volkov straightened his undone tie, put on his hat and coat, picked up his keys and put away his phone inside his front right pocket.

The thirty something Detective locked his place and walked toward his 68' hunter green with a black stripe, Ford Mustang and got in with a smile before closing the door behind him. That car and feel of the leather seats as his hands touched the wheel, always managed to put a smile on his face. There was nothing like it....

Backing out and driving to the station, Volkov took in the sights along the way, relaxing in his car with the music playing Led Zeppelin's Stairway to heaven as he pulled into the stations lot and parked his car with a reluctant turn of the radio and shutting off the engine. That song was only halfway over and he now had to shut things off in order to make this meeting.

Getting out and locking up his car. Volkov wales inside the station headed for the office, with a brief glance to his desk and around the room before stepping inside with a smile.

Though noticing he was perhaps alone... Maybe she was out getting the others? Sitting down and tilting his hats brim down to shade his eyes and placing his feet up to relax while he waited for everyone, a small smile kept on his face as he quietly sat inside her office.
