Agotta's mom had arrived after a short amount of time in their family's car. After a swift explanation of what had happened, she carried Agotta into the car, and drove off. She went pick her husband up from work, then drove home, and tucked her daughter into her bed.

Agotta, however, woke up, feeling particularly strange. What had she been doing? Right... She saw that security guard's corpse. Strangely enough, however, she didn't feel the urge to throw up anymore. She didn't feel bad or weak at all anymore. She felt off, but in a way she couldn't describe. She looked around her... She was still at the train station, yes, but she never remembered getting up onto the roof ledge! Looking down, she saw that she was in fact standing on the edge of the roof, but didn't feel any fear of falling. Wait... What was the distance between the ledge and her head? She was WAY taller than usual... Something was definitely off... She tried to put her hand to her chin to think, but instead of the familiar feel of her warm, soft hand, she felt the clanking of metallic yet soft feathers against her hard... beak...? She looked at her arm to see a wing where it should be, and glanced at the other to see the exact same sight. She gasped in shock, only to hear some kind of metal shrieking noise. She knew this noise. It was a sound that her Pokémon Corviknight made. She looked down, and hopped off the roof, flapping her arms. Somehow this worked, and she landed softly. Looking into one of the train station's windows, she tried to find her reflection, but the face of her giant Pokémon looked back at her. In shock, surprise, and frustration, she began to squawk and jump around. Nobody could see or hear this except Nozomi, who must've been getting annoyed. Agotta felt something weird... What had happened? She saw the body, fell over, and then... She passed out. She remembered now, she had been rendered unconscious from the shock of seeing a dead man. Had she taken control of Corviknight after that, somehow? She reached one of her wings out the pull open the door to the train station, and began to walk inside until she bumped her head on the door. Oh yeah, Corviknight was seven feet tall. She ducked under the door frame and waddled her way through the lobby. She felt like she had been forgetting something. Looking around, a pink glow caught her eye. Her soul gem! Without this, she couldn't transform into a magical girl or create Pokémon! She grabbed it with one of her claws, and then slowly and awkwardly struggled to walk out of the train station. After she dodged the top of the door frame again, she wondered what to do. It'd probably be best to get back home, but doing it like this would take until tomorrow morning... Oh, of course! She was in Corviknight's body now, she would just fly back home! She began to beat her wings harder than she needed, and began to fly upwards, and then forwards... It was a super strange concept to grasp. She could fly, but barely knew how. She felt liberated in some sense, but shackled in another. She made her way home rather quickly, and placed her soul gem on the ground. Suddenly, she felt like she was about to black out, and then did.

Agotta woke up again. She didn't even check and see if she was in her body now. She didn't even move. Judging by how everything that happened earlier began to hit her, she was definitely back. Cubone, Marowak, and that Security Guard... They were all killed by some sort of monster. The police could say it was a wild animal to her all they wanted, but she knew it was something else entirely. It killed Cubone and Marowak... Not only could it see them, but it was stronger than Marowak. In their short lives, they might not have done anything, but Marowak was far from weak. It had a higher defense stat than Corviknight... If Corviknight hadn't panicked upon seeing whatever it was that it saw, she and Nozomi... They would've ended up just like the security guard... No, he had a name... Mr. Hayanama... The one thing she could find solace in was that the titles for men didn't say whether they had any partners. He could have had a family. If he had a family, he had been torn out of it by the twisted claws of fate... Something like that could happen at any moment, to anyone. She thought about when they were in front of the door to his office. She thought it was her own father... It never really dawned on her until now that this kind of thing could happen to the people she loved. Her mother, her father... Anri... There was no way to tip toe around it anymore. Her best friend in whole wide world had been taken from her, slaughtered by some terrible monster. The amount of pain she felt in her final moments led to the creation of Bellstar. She couldn't imagine it. She finally broke her motionless stupor to cry. Some vile fiend had taken her friend... Not only from her, but from her own parents as well... She'd never see Anri again... Never speak to her, never hear her talk about the things she loves, never hear the offer to play Cowboys and Indians or some other foreign game she learned from her father... She didn't even really know what an Indian was. She had a vague idea from movies Anri showed her, but besides that... All she knew was that they and cowboys ran around and shot at each other. Now the Cowboy was dead, and the Indian had nobody to pretend shoot at. She had nobody to make a gun shape with her hand and say "bang! bang!" at anymore. She didn't have any friend as close as Anri. She had kids she'd play with, but none she had a bond with as deep as between herself and Anri. Other kids would just ignore her when she talked about TV shows she likes. She felt like she'd be all alone at school Monday. Perhaps Anri felt the same way about her? What if it had been her instead? Her parents would be sad, Anri would be sad... There wasn't much of a difference, really. But the main one was... Anri would be alive. But, judging by everything else that happened, would she even know about any of this? If their positions were swapped, would Anri had figured out that she had died at the train station? Would she have found out that a monster had killed her? Perhaps... Perhaps these events were the best that could possibly happen. She knew what happened to Anri, and she had the opportunity to make sure it didn't happen to her. More than that, she had the opportunity to make sure this didn't happen to anyone else, too. She and Anri weren't the only people with families. Mr. Hayanama even at least had parents or someone to mourn him. Everyone had someone that would notice if they were gone. Perhaps nobody would have to notice that someone they loved was gone because of that monster again. Agotta looked at her hand through the tears welling up in her eyes. She thought for a second. Anri couldn't beat it, so what makes her so sure she could? She... She just... Her hand dropped by to her side. Anri had shot such a barrage of bullets at whatever this monster was, and it didn't stop. She had a slingshot at a big zoo which she could only pick six animals from at a time. Compared to Anri and her two revolvers, she was weak. Her wish to make Pokémon real didn't help her much in this situation. Her wish... Anri was already dead by the time she got the opportunity, wasn't she? If she knew about this sooner, she could've used that wish to bring her back to life. If she had waited to think about her wish... maybe for just a day... She might've been able to find out that Anri wasn't around anymore. Her selfish wish made in the spur of the moment wasted her opportunity to have her friend back. Just as she was starting to stop, she began to cry again. She'd been doing this a lot today. She needed to get something to drink. What time was it anyways? It was dark o'clock, and that was all the energy she could really put in that thought right now. She opened the door to her room and headed to the living room. Her mother had fallen asleep on the recliner, and her father sat awake on the couch. "Hey Dad..." She quietly greeted her father.

"Ah, good morning Agotta. Did you enjoy your rest?" He joked.

"No..."

"Well, let me go put your mom in bed and we can talk about whatever you want, OK?"

"Okay..." When she said this, her father picked up her mother, and walked down the hall. She looked inside the fridge to find a bottle of ramune. She had been saving it for a rainy day, or until she could get more. It was surely raining. She put all of her strength into popping the marble out of the way, but she couldn't, no matter how hard she tried. Her father returned in the time she took to try and do this.

"Here, let me get it Agotta." He said. In one swift and precise motion, the marble was punched into the first compartment of the bottle. This got Agotta thinking.

"Hey dad... You're strong, right? What would you do if you saw a... a big animal? Like a really big bear?" She asked.

"I'd run and call the animal control. Maybe police." He said.

"What if... What if you had to deal with it?" She asked, unsatisfied with his first answer. She couldn't exactly run from her problem and call the police.

"Well, if I had to deal with it myself..." He thought for a second. "I'd still run. This time, however, I'd go get a gun or something like that, and some friends with them too. Bears might be bullet resistant, but with enough people I'm sure we could manage." Agotta thought about this. She had been thinking all wrong. It wasn't only her against this monster. It was an enemy of all magical girls. If it wasn't dealt with, it was possible that any of them could become its next victim. Nozomi even helped her find out about it, and most likely knew it existed already too. She looked back at both of her hands this time, and formed both into fists. She couldn't beat this monster, this much she was correct about. A group of Magical Girls, however, could possibly do it. She knew enough to form a group already. Nozomi, Komi, Aza, and Asami. Perhaps she could find more, just to be safe. This monster couldn't stand a chance against a mob of Magical Girls. Even so, there was a lot of things that needed to be done. She needed to get the girls she knew together, and get them to agree to join her cause. Then they had to find the thing to fight it. Nevertheless, she felt like she had the ability to affect her surroundings and circumstances in a way that she wanted. She felt like she had power again.

"Thanks, dad." She said, sniffling and wiping her eyes. She took a sip of her ramune, and then put it on the coffee table. She headed for the front door until her dad stopped her.

"Where are you going Agotta? It's still dark out."

"Oh, there's something I forgot in the yard this morning. I was going to get it on my way back, but..."

"Alright, then. You can go get it." He said. She opened the door, and stepped outside. It was pretty dark, maybe she should've got a flash light or something. She scanned around the yard and saw a hot pink glow. No need, actually. She walked a few feet out, grabbed her soul gem, and something caught her eye. Under the tree in her yard was an old Pikachu toy she thought she lost. She didn't even think of getting something to show her dad. She really lucked out with this being right here. She went back into her house, showed the small toy off to her father, and went back to sleep.

She woke up again, and spent Sunday not doing much. She watched TV, and brainstormed ideas for hunting the terrible beast that took her friend. She of course, needed allies. Komi seemed easy enough to persuade into fighting. It was some sort of monster that Aza didn't know about, or was too dangerous for her to list for some reason. In that same case, Aza might be easy as well. She didn't say anything about some demon that mauls magical girls, their summons, and even normal people. She seemed like a real know-it-all, so even if she was lying or wrong about Anri, she'd be interested in this. That left Nozomi and Asami. Nozomi... Maybe she could just politely ask? Unless she was already set on fighting it, she didn't seem like she'd be easy to talk into fighting. Asami... She didn't know anything about Asami, really. She worked at a book store, and she wasn't too sociable. She prepared some talking points for Nozomi and Asami, wrote them down on a notepad, and passed her Sunday uneventfully.

Monday came, and she had a feeling that she'd be meeting her Magical Girl acquaintances on the train again, like Friday. She paid her train fare, and took a seat in the same place as before, keeping an eye out for anyone she thought was a magical girl, especially the four she knew.

It didn't take long for Agotta's mother to show up and take her away. Tonight's escapade had ended decisively, with the few questions answered raising new ones. Witches could fight and hurt magical girls, on top of trapping humans in their barriers. But whatever was back there at the station hunted, lurking without notice. At some point they'd have to face it.

The wingbeats of Corviknight sounded overhead as Nozomi walked back to her apartment, nursing her sore muscles. The energy that suffused a magical girl was far more conspicuous when it was absent, leaving her to bear the consequences of any exertions once she returned to normal.

By the time she arrived at home, Mother was already getting ready for bed.

"Hey mom. S-sorry I-"

"Hey Nozomi."

It was more of a politeness than anything else. She didn't seem worried or even curious about where Nozomi had gone that night.

Not bothering to change or shower, Nozomi folded her cane, left it on her desk, and fell into bed.

She didn't dream most nights, but tonight visions came of an oily serpent, drenched in flames, savagely tearing with its fangs at Anri and the man they left behind.

Sundays should have been free and easy. Staying at home was getting pretty uncomfortable, and she felt like she should have been doing something anyway.

Conveniently, she was able to track down a hive of familiars in the form of oversized bees, spiders, and other such bugs encrusted with gold and gems. If witches and familiars were born of curses, then perhaps this was someone's greed. If she let the strongest of these familiars mature, then it would become a witch and yield a seed...but she needed something to do today, anyway.

They noticed her and began to swarm, but not one of them could touch her as she leapt and weaved between them. A sword materialised in her right hand, a handful of firecrackers in the other. Throwing them to disorient the insects' senses, several quick slashes made short work of the vanguard.

Many more fell in short order, and a smoke bomb emitting poisonous gas caused the hive to collapse from within.

As Nozomi returned to her regular form, trying to ignore the slowly expanding darkness in her soul gem, one of the Kyubeys watched her silently from a rooftop.

Monday came, and Nozomi fell into one of the reserved seats at the train platform. She just wished it'd be a quiet day, without even having to think about the other station being locked down.

Aza was not looking forward to Monday when it came. She of course was well aware of the other girls activities. The only normal one was Komi the other pair seemed to be trying to speed run to their death. Really she did not get Nozomi who seemed ever suspicious, ever probing, ever distrustful. She did not at all act like any girl that made a wish she really honestly didn't seem to make a wish, she distrusted everything about the situation yet she had no bothered to put in clauses and safety nets into her wish, and she had not bothered to ask Kuybey a million questions. Aza just did not get it Nozomi almost seemed like she was different from the one that made the wish given just how she seemed to suspect things were not as they seemed why would she make the wish? Aza was debating if some third party had sent Nozomi as some form of agent after all not everyone wanted to live to see the next century.

Aza was also aware of the goings on in the train station though what it could be was a question likely a familiar, though the familiars Nozomi had encountered were beyond strange. A single strong familiar might break from a witch not a colony of them, familiars did not reproduce and did not last after their witch died and did not leave their witch unless they were strong. The colony violated every rule there was. This was not how things should go, this was far more than abnormal and Aza did not like it. She should cut off the two girls let them fall and be done with them, they were to curious and without Aza there to collect the grief seeds they would have to deal with witches constantly and use up their magic. She of course could just get rid of them herself .

The only one that acted like a normal magical girl instead of a detective was Komi she should be left alive. Still if she did that she would need two more girls to replace them, perhaps from the other cities that were not plagued by the none sense going on here. Kyubey had been investigating the site and only found out witches were there. That was of course of nose use the witches were not normal it seemed. The rules were being broken here and the short sighted humans would doom the entire universe because they were selfish stupid little things with to much curiosity and to little good sense. Well not all humans were like that there were a few other girls out there that learned the truth and remained loyal, those able to understand the big picture, or those who didn't care and just wanted to keep going. They needed to call in one that could show images from the past so they could replay the dammed ritual the girls had used.

When Aza sat down in her seat near the other two it was clear her mood was not good. She had to kill a friend and now she was dealing with these two idiots. Agotta knew she had a safety net and Nozomi had wasted energy with the impossible familiar colony. Both of them likely suspected she would have to step in to save them. Still she had to make small talk with them though also perhaps imply she knew what they were up to. No that would be a bad idea just let them think whatever and monitor them the two would likely be the pair to get closer to the mystery. Perhaps if Aza took them there both problems would solve them selves.

" hopefully you two had a better weekend than I did" Aza said as if she knew nothing that they had been up to even as she mentally directed the Terminals to see if those other girls could pay the city a visit. She would deal with these girls for now and ditch school like Komi to meet with the others if they could be brought here by terminals.

Nozomi felt anger well up inside her. How dare Aza come in and speak to them so lightly, despite all the things they'd witnessed so far? The game was ending and the reality was creeping in. Their duties were a war, or something even crueler, and there were no main characters who always won no matter how dark things seemed.

If it was to protect people, she could continue to fight. But to bleed and worse while being led on by these strange creatures...

"I'm surprised to see you here." Nozomi did her best to calm herself, putting on a tone that was diplomatic but pointed. "Things haven't been safe here, even for someone like you. Someone lost his life on this line last night..."

Her darkened soul gem trembled with her fear and anger, reacting to the alien presence of the being before her.

"And that's something you can't tell us about, right? Because even you don't know..."

Whether that was true or not, she searched for any chance to take apart what the Kyubeys had told them so far.

One life was that all Nozomi was worried about, not all the girls vanished, not the countless people being killed by witches, just some guard. " People die all the time Nozomi " Aza said not humor in her voice " I am not some god that can see all things at all times or change the way the world works" Aza continued knowing Nozomi would not understand she wanted a bad guy, she wanted someone to blame for her mistake. It was all to common for girls that were to curious when they found out the full extent of everything then they always felt they were the heroes, they were the good guys and Kyubey was the bad guy. The world was a big grey mess even Aza had to admit the way the system worked was not ideal, but she could not change it as much as she might want to even Kyubey was bound by some rules and laws of reality.

" If you think it was something to do with magical girls it was likely a rouge familiar, I told you about how they split off and become witches. To do that they need to kill humans and their methods are far less refined than those of a witch" Aza said with a shrug not having cared to much about the death she hadn't looked into it and was being completely honest. " Either way this is just a formal visit with you three, I will be skipping school today as I have called in other girls to help investigate the disappearance. " She said not explaining why she needed others for that. She also didn't mention the increase in witch numbers that likely happened. " Besides someone here wasn't the only person who died recently a friend of mine fell to another magical girl " Aza said playing a bit for sympathy and also because she wanted at least some kindness from someone.

" Nozomi you seem to suffer from pareidolia assuming there is something greater out there, but you have left yourself blind to a simple truth before you. Perhaps you should take a step back before you crack and focus on the life you lead, try to enjoy it. A magical girl is not sustained by fear and doubts, but hope. I tell you this for your own good relax try to solve the small mysteries before you solve the big ones. After all you have the answer to a mystery but have ignored it thus far " She continued trying to get Nozomi of playing detective. The girls seemed to all think she was an aliens, which was something she had played into, but not something she had directly told them. She had in fact told Agotta the opposite but she had yet to speak up.

Agotta continued sitting in silence as Aza approached her. She had noticed Nozomi just now, too, so it wasn't all bad. "Eh... I don't think a contest is necessary..." She said. They all had pretty bad weekends, probably. The circumstances afflicting them all affected them in different ways, so it'd be impossible to gauge. Nozomi seemed aggravated by Aza, giving her a rather passive-aggressive treatment. Agotta couldn't say she felt any different about their evil-eyed acquaintance. Before she could speak up, Aza seemed really set on destroying whatever goodwill the two felt towards her. Oh, yeah, of course people just die all the time, y'know? No need to get your panties in a twist about it happening to someone you love, or in a way you could've prevented. Yeah, mhm. Agotta stared at Aza in disbelief. They hadn't mentioned anything, yet Aza had been spewing answers like she was three lines ahead in some kind of script. She knew everything they were thinking about before words even escaped their lips. The only thing they mentioned was "someone" dying, and yet she gave them precise responses for the question of what attacked the security guard. She knew for a fact that it wasn't some kind of familiar. Corviknight fled from it, which was why they didn't come face-to-face with it. She wanted to explain what happened to the "all-knowing" Aza, but she was just dumbfounded by everything she had said up to now. Claiming death isn't important, blatant lying, and suddenly playing arm-chair psychiatrist with Nozomi...

"Miss Aza..." Agotta mustered out. She was still in utter shock about everything Aza had said. "Is all of that what Kyubey told you to say?" She hadn't been suspicious of the vaguely feline creatures until Her third time or so meeting Aza. "Nozomi only mentioned that some man died... and you somehow immediately know the situation. Your friend was... was killed... by a magical girl... Yet death is just some thing that happens? Did you not feel sad when you learned what happened? Did you not cry? Nothing? Is it just some footnote to telling Nozomi she has..." Agotta already forgot the word Aza used. "...whatever it was you said? Miss Aza..." Agotta's tone started to get more angry. "How much of you is still human? How much of you is Kyubey?" She grit her teeth, trying not to start yelling at Aza. "Should we be wary of the Kyubeys? They haven't done anything bad, but... If you're only partly like them, and this is how you think... I won't be able to think of them the same way. The death of your friend means so little to you..." Agotta shut up again before she brought up the next thing she was thinking of. Aza had mentioned her friend's death at the hands of some magical girl, and she didn't seem bothered at all by it. Aza was a magical girl... Could she have possibly killed her own friend? No, saying something like that would be extremely uncalled for. The look on her face, however, betrayed how this made her feel about the red-eyed girl. A glare of disdain that couldn't possibly be imagined on someone as young as Agotta seemed to boldly stab at Aza, as if the child was literally staring daggers at her.

Aza was getting rather tired of this group and their demands she be like them act like them. She turned to Agotta.

" The key point is she told me somone died. " Aza said pointing to herself " She told me and if she told me then she must suspect it is magical girl related" she laid out " If she felt it wasn't then she would not bring it up."

"As for what you see as inhuman behavior it is called shutting down or something. Not everyone cries when thry are hurt. I grieve my friend in my way not yours and I want to try to make the world better for magical girls do this dosent happen" Aza continued her words true and her tone showing a barely held back flood of emotion. " So please how about everyone accusing me of just bring alien you try to understand the person in front of you. I have a job to do one that is more important than anything and will save more lives if I don't push it off because I feel distraught." Aza continued getting more angry she had tried to show her bad mood or the reason early. " part of that job is helping you now given I have hard enough of you two insulting me I am leaving to find some people that sctully get how I mourn and don't judge just because I do not act like them" Aza finished getting up and leaving.

A truck with a car trailer on the back crashed that morning.

Not a big crash, some dillweed just overestimated their abilities and now a big ole truck with no cars on its cab was making the early commute even more of a pain for the local residents. But Komi Murasa wasn't the usual city type, nope... she was an opportunist who saw the benefits of another's failure. Specifically, how the rear of that cab looked an awful lot like one hell of a sweet ramp when it didn't have any cargo on it.

So before police had even fully cordoned off the crashed truck, there she was speeding right through police tape and ramping that big bastard until she was sailing over several small residences and just barely managing to land on the highway running parallel along it. Even after the crash was long behind her, she was still grinning ear to ear. She almost wondered if she could do it again, but reminded herself that she had to at least make an attempt to check up on the new Magical Girls.

As long as another Witch didn't show up then Komi figured she could just pop in, see that they weren't dead yet, then peace out in time for the next street race. That first time with the whole massive six-shooter and her stampede posse had been an absolute fluke. Sure, it was a fluke that Komi got to thoroughly enjoy along with all the new blood, but it was a fluke nonetheless. She was an expert at keeping herself on the go, and that meant taking a real quick census of who was getting on the train that morning, then getting to the next pulse-pounding series of thrills and chills.

Of course, her detour along that crashed truck cab had cut into her timing significantly and almost made her certain she would miss the train, but that was beside the point. She could just head them off at the next station or the school after all, not like any old train could outpace the power of Fenrir after all.

But as luck would have it, she hadn't missed the train. In fact, three out of four magical girls were already there. Well, two and whatever ole Red-Eye was counted as. They were in the midst of some conversation, prolly Witches or Familiar or other things they could ask Red-Eye about. Komi wasn't about to care much, because she'd gotten most of what she'd wanted last week and couldn't really still herself for another session of folks worrying over the boring stuff.

But just as she was about to cut in with a whistle to ask where the last member of their magical five-way was, she noticed Ole Red Eye raising her voice. Questions must've been really dragging if she of all folks was getting worn down by them. It had to be the first time Komi had heard her get so heated over something.

Granted, she still sounded a far cry from the absolutely rage some of Komi's other pals could toss around, but it was definitely a personal record getting set over there. But even more of a record was how soon Ole Red just stood up and began to take her leave. Komi was impressed, not enough to start wondering what kind of questions were being asked nowadays , but she was definitely feeling some kind of way. As if she'd just missed out on something the others wouldn't forget any time soon.

Luckily for Komi, she had plenty of other epic encounters to bank on to fill the void.

What she didn't have, was news on where MG number five was.

So she gave a loud whistle once Aza began to take her leave, approaching with Fenrir's skateboard form tucked securely under her arm, "Well here I was thinkin' I'd have to break in all renegade-like and get right on interrupting another mundane chat." she said whilst giving a brief look around before chuckling "But here I am, finding ya'll having some kind of moment instead of the usual question n' answer session."

She side-eyed Aza for a second, "Almost makes me wish I showed up earlier."

She closed her eyes and gave a shake of her head, "Almost, I guarantee the sick truck bed I ramped off of was way more fun than whatever ya'll were getting up to."

Dropping Fenrir to the floor, she rolled back and forth with her foot a few times whilst leaning her neck back, "So I'll keep it brief: Any of you girls know if the loner girl is still around? Trying to keep tabs on who's droppin' and who's poppin' if ya catch my drift."

Aza stopped with Komi here sge should tell her that she was going to not be as easily reached today.

"All you missed was two people looking for a villian" Aza said agin implying they were projecting what they wanted to see upon her " I tried to say I am having a hard time with a friend getting killed and my job" she continued still annoyed. They just would not see the world from anything but their own view there was no point in helping them.
"So I will be busy for awhile you might not see me much as I will be working with other girls on saving everyone not just somone who died on this line as Nozomi put it " Aza finished pointing out again how nozomi has directly asked her about the dead person on the line and she had only told them what was nessary. As for what Komi asked she left that unclear. Then she changed into her magical form and vanished.

Nozomi frowned as Aza disappeared. To think she still had the nerve to act sanctimonious to them. Perhaps it might have been true that she was in a difficult position too, that whatever she was doing was burdensome, even painful to her.

But when lives were at stake daily, anyone who kept secrets couldn't be trusted. That was the reasoning she held onto, having made up her mind about Aza.

She tilted her head slightly to acknowledge Komi. "As far as that...other girl we met the other day is concerned, we haven't noticed hide or hair of her. For better or worse, no news is good news."

"Look..." Komi seemed confident and independent, but people like that could still be manipulated by others that had leverage over them. Even so she had some attachment to this world. Surely she would come down on their side if push came to shove. "You're not seriously going to keep playing by HER rules, are you?" Would that kind of rhetoric get through to her? "Wherever our magic came from...they can't take it away from us now. We don't have to let them lead us on."

The tension of the past few days frayed her, leaving her grasping at straws.

How could she just rattle on about this and that? Sure, what she said made sense, but... Sticking with her usual behavior, Aza began to mechanically explain her sadness as if she wasn't the one feeling it. Before Agotta could say anything in return, Aza had begun to get up and leave. She wanted to tell Aza, Komi, and Asami about the monster they had encountered. But boiling with anger and confusion, she couldn't bring herself to speak up. Aza seemed only slightly annoyed with Nozomi and her, despite Agotta's shotgun of insults. Did she care this little? Maybe this level of emotion was the most she could show? Komi had showed up, finally, and asked about how Asami was doing. Aza said a few things, transformed, and vanished. Now she could finally tell Komi about- No, Nozomi was taking the initiative to tell Komi not about the big dangerous magical monster on the prowl, but about cutting ties with Aza. "U-umm... That seems a bit extreme..." She said to Nozomi. "Miss Komi, there's... there's something much more important." The words hesitated to let themselves out of her mouth up until now. "So, me and Nozomi went look around the train station we fought Bellstar at Yesterday." She only knew the name because she overheard Aza mention it once or twice. "I thought the witch resembled a friend I knew before I became a magical girl, a-and.. We found out that she got attacked by some monster a week ago. We uh... We broke into the parts of the train station you're not supposed to go, and we st- uh... took some of the footage from the security cameras. Well, I was right, sadly... My friend fought something in the train station, and then vanished... That's bad already, right? It gets worse... As we were leaving, we woke up the security guard and ran, but Corviknight cawed really loudly and flew away... I stationed him in a high place and told him to caw when something was coming, but... I didn't tell him to fly away... So me and Nozomi ran away through an exit, and we went go watch the footage... I found my friend, Anri, was fighting something before the footage went black... Then... Then we saw police and an ambulance going to the train station... A-and we followed them... And then..." This was a far cry from Agotta's usual long winded spiels. "The security guard... Marowak and Cubone... They're dead... Some monster killed them Miss Komi... And we... And we... We ran..." Agotta had started crying again. This wasn't how she wanted to tell her about what happened. She just wanted to tell her about what her and Nozomi found out, but recalling it ended up like this. Thankfully, she had some tissues on hand. She wiped her eyes and blew her nose, then put the discarded tissue in her pocket. "Miss Komi..." She started talking again. "If you see Miss Aza, please tell her about that. Oh, and uh... Tell her I'm sorry, please? She left before I could say any of that..." Agotta was about to stop talking, until she remembered that Komi asked a question too. "Oh, uh... I saw her Saturday... She works at a bookstore..."

In the few moments Aza spent regarding Komi with what they'd been up to, it was pretty much confirmed that whatever it was was absolutely mind-numbing. Making villains? Friends biting the dust? Komi just raised an eyebrow as she took her leave, but made sure to bite down hard on her tongue for even asking in the first place. So it looked as though the power duo managed to chase off ole Red-Eye, which meant less back up in the case of a Witch problem.

Which meant more carnage for Komi, so it wasn't a complete loss.

As soon as Aza took her leave, Nozomi came up and confirmed that she had no idea where magical girl number five was. Komi really didn't want to have to go tracking her down, but that was becoming more and more of a likely scenario. That would be a pain, Asami had been all let me be alone and whatever from minute one. But Komi did want to know who was in the field at any given point, that alone would let her know how much Witch-Hunting would be spread among them.

She'd briefly considered whether they should divide the city into quadrants so each of them could get their fill of bloodshed, but scrapped that almost immediately. She wasn't a planner, and was practically guaranteed to half-ass it in order to just get it done. Besides, that would probably be more of Kyubey's forte.

Nozomi started going on about some nonsense about rules, which tore Komi from her thoughts just from how confusing the request was.

"Playing by her rules," she reiterated, sounding it out for a second before frowning and gesturing to Nozomi "The hell are you even talking about? From day one all Ole Red Eye's been going on about is don't try doin this alone, work with your fellow magical girls, doing it like this is dangerous and crap like that."

Checking her nails Komi snickered, "All things I wasn't really following from the start. Pretty sure she only said that trash to keep that one from getting herself killed." she nodded to Agotta, who she noticed seemed more ready to burst into tears than usual. Before Nozomi could reply, she cut in with another one of her Agotta rambles that Komi had gotten used to. Already she was dipping in to her pretend to listen while offering the occasional yes and oh my responses, kneeling down to Agotta's level for added effect.

Internally she was more focused on where she'd have to search to keep track of their Rogue MG, the best bet would be the school since that's where all the others kept going. Komi internally groaned at that, her departure from school had been an affair she liked keeping up. Every time she showed up there it dampened the effect of her departure, but what could she do if that's the only place they could find MG number five?

Agotta's speech, meanwhile, covered the same bases that Aza's brief sentences had. They went and did something, a friend Komi hadn't heard about previously got absolutely bodied, she was probably one of the old magical girls that up and went missing. The second Agotta mentioned a monster she was fighting, Komi chalked it up to more witch activity and left it at that. But then Agotta said something that actually managed to bring Komi back to the topic at hand.

While they were off being super spies she lost two of her pocket monsters to whatever wiped out the security guard, suspiciously close to where her pal Anri got merced.

That made Komi reach forward and place a hand on Agotta's shoulder, suddenly far more interested than she was previously. Agotta continued talking about how Komi should tell that to Aza next time they met, and even brought up how she'd spotted MG 5 working at the school bookstore, but Komi sidelined all of that for the big prize.

"So whatever took out the guard and your pocket thingies might be related to whatever took down your friend." Komi repeated before holding a hand over her mouth.

Was it a witch? It sounded more like a familiar if their descriptors were anything to go off of. Then again, Komi knew for a fact that Witches could come in many shapes and sizes. It didn't really matter, as the proximity to where Anri went and bit it meant it had to have some relation. Whether it was a witch or a familiar, the end result of tracking it down was the same.

"I'm smelling one hell of a fight coming up." She grinned before casting a glance towards Nozomi "Why can't you bring me prime hunting targets like she does? Seriously, you try getting me all concerned about pointless crap while the fight of our lives could be lurking right under our noses?!?"

She gripped Agotta's shoulder and stared her down, "And you, quit the crying. If this Monster of yours is involved with your friend going Bye-Bye, then we've got even more reason to find it and kick its shit in!" She clenched her hand into a fist before pounding it against her own chest "Don't get sad! Get Mad, kid! Really gonna let some punk get away with wiping out whoever it feels like?!? We're magical girls! We were made to find assholes like that and rip them a new one!"

Releasing Agotta, Komi stood and snapped her fingers while tossing Fenrir on the floor, "Now which station was it?" she demanded whilst hopping onto her board "Girls went and got me all excited to kick some ass, and unlike you folks I ain't gotta wait for no school day to end to get to it!"

That seemed to be the point, wasn't it? The idea had occurred to Nozomi that Aza, or anyone really, could pretty reliably manipulate Komi into doing something by telling her NOT to do it, or by making it seem as dangerous and illegal as possible. She wasn't about to resort to that.

"If you're looking to get into a fight..." She paused for a moment, remembering all that had transpired. The gunfire, the last pained scream, the thud of the body falling out in front of her...

"Uranami Station. They closed it off after they found the body, and that's why this line is redirected today. Police tape and all that. I bet that makes you happy..."

When she was convinced that Komi had made her exit, she turned to Agotta and laid a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to go back there but..." She thought hard, trying to recall the Pokemon she had seen as a kid. Making big, strong Pokemon seemed to take more power, which made sense. But they wouldn't need one for what she was planning. "Think you can make something small that won't be noticed? Like a Shuppet or a Joltik...it should follow Komi and make sure she doesn't get in over her head."

Komi probably "got in over her head" a lot. And she was the type to push harder and harder until either she or the obstacle before her gave out. She may be a pain, but if anything really bad happened to her...Nozomi didn't want that.

Aza despite her implications of ignorance did know what had transpired here. Well she knew of what Agotta and Nozomi had scene, what had caused it was a mystery. It was the lesser of two mysteries and was likely part of the real mystery. It would make a good test for Ciel to see if her ability was able to function aginst whatever the girls had done. Fear of a rouge familiar or some other critter was low on Aza's list of worries as she could deal with most things. It was not a witch or at least not likely as the attack had not been hidden in a labyrinth. Still Aza had the terminals hidden from sight watching the other three girls keeping an eye on then should the worst happen.

Komi it seemed after being warned of the possable danger had predictably ran off to fight. Somone like her was the kind you git to do things by talking about danger. Normally Aza would let Komi do what she wanted, but well Aza felt she could use the help. Komi was skilled and had the right attitude to take things in stride. She would likely not break like the other two when she learned of the secrets. The pokemon that might follow could be dealt with to make sure it didn't give any hints.

Still one thing at a time first the meeting with ciel. Them tests then the rest of it. The mystery would finally be solved and tge aftermath dealt with. Aza did wonder how to deal with agotta and Nozomi till the whole thing was resolved. She would just cut the pair off and let them have the normal magical girl experience instead of her holding their hands.

bd7b145ff2a98274c571c8c9735694fc.jpg"Y-yes... That's right." Agotta nodded when Komi summarized. Her sadness turned to fear as Komi began to talk like Agotta had told a wolf where deer go to graze. "W-wait- No-..." Agotta tried to interrupt Komi, but to no avail. She took Komi's words to heart. Don't get sad! Get mad! It reached into Agotta's heart and pulled out the largest, yet deepest emotion. One that Agotta hadn't known was there, blended into the fine mess in her heart that she probably wouldn't even fully understand if she were older. Anger was the emotion buried inside of her. She was sad that something happened to Anri, felt grief over her death, and agony that she didn't know until she had been dead for a week. Beneath all of those however, anger connected them all. She was angry something happened to Anri, outraged that she was dead, and absolutely furious that she couldn't do anything to help! But, who was all this fury directed at? The ire and indignation she felt deep in her heart was directed at nobody in particular, really. Wrath by itself has no direction, it is as a sword that waits for its wielder to apply it to whatever pleases them, whether it be friend, foe, or even themselves. With this rage as a base, and all of her despair as ingredients, the most polarizing of meals tantalizingly presented itself to Agotta. Revenge. Although it may be a meal best served cold, the flames that alit themselves upon Agotta would not allow it. Already, with Komi's suggestion as a catalyst, Agotta had begun cooking. She had been feeling powerless up to this point. 'It's already happened, there's nothing I can do about it.' Was a thought that loomed over her head near constantly. She hadn't even considered all that she was blessed with as her mind was selfishly centered on how this all affected her. The security guard's family was likely devastated, Anri's parents and all the people she knew... The monster wouldn't be stopping either. It attacked Anri there a week ago, and then later returned for her and Nozomi. It'd keep on going until it couldn't anymore. She thought that she couldn't beat it. It slew Marowak and Cubone without her even noticing, and Corviknight fled from it against her orders. It even defeated Anri. Going on her own, even with Pokémon, would be tantamount to suicide. However, that was on her own. She hadn't considered the girls she met a few days ago. Komi was already raring to dive in headfirst against this thing, and Nozomi might be able to be convinced. She wasn't alone anymore. She had friends who'd help her. Perhaps if things were different, she could've fought side-by-side with Anri, too. This was not the time to think about that though.

In the time it took for Agotta to think through all this, Nozomi told Komi where to go. Nozomi even put a hand on her shoulder and advised her to send some kind of Pokémon with Komi. She didn't even realize that she had specifically named two of them. She wiped her eyes on the sleeves of her jacket. "There's no need, Miss Nozomi..." She muttered. Although her mind had changed in a few moments, her body would need time to catch up. Before Komi could leave, Agotta grabbed her arm. Her grip definitely wasn't enough to keep her in place, but she hoped that she'd listen to her. "Miss Komi..." She started to put her thoughts in order. "Please... Let me get mad..." She stood in silence for a few seconds before continuing again. "Both times we know of it appearing... were at night. Even if you go out now... You might not find it. Please wait for me at that noodle place... I want to fight it too... But, we'll need a plan and some information..." After that, Agotta let go. After hearing whatever response Komi gave she turned to Nozomi. "I... I hate to ask you to help me again, when I can't do anything in return... but... Will you?" She asked.

Kousaka_Honoka_ALL_STARS.pngCiel was... Well, she called it training, but from how often she did it, it was more of an excuse to do something else and still act like she was training. Her thumbs bounced between sticks and buttons on the controller in her hands quickly and precisely. She had gotten a new game recently, and was having a lot of fun. She had gotten into playing these video games to help her in her magical girl duties, but it quickly just became a hobby. Her character died, and she looked over at the other seat in front of her TV. On it lay a sword, a scimitar to be precise. The "training" she was doing was to be able to morph her weapon without thinking about it. Over the course of the game, it had gone from an arming sword to a wodao, a kodachi, a golok, even split into two hook swords at some point, a flyssa, and now lay on the seat, both the hilt and blade balanced on the two armrests as a scimitar. She of course didn't notice any of the in between, which was why she usually had a camera of some kind recording this circus trick. At some point early in her career, she had to focus on what she wanted the sword to be, but now it was like this. She looked back to her game, and was ready to get to the next part of her training. Although this was more active, it was definitely more silly than the previous activity. In her character's hands was a giant of a sword. Its blade was too wide, thick, and heavy for use at all, let alone by a human. It was more like a big fancy hunk of metal than a sword. She snickered a bit at the thought, then picked up the scimitar, its hilt extending so that she may hold it in both hands. She held it horizontally. One of the earlier times she did this, she held it vertically, then had to pay for roof repairs. Her mom didn't like that at all, and her landlord now would probably be furious if she made the same mistake again. She missed her family, but it was for the better that she was here instead of there. Magical Girls wouldn't go to them for her, and she had a friend in their area who'd tell her if anything was happening. She stretched her arms out. She had enough of her own lollygagging, and her sword began to change shape. It first changed shape to what some would call "normal", with a straight, double-edged blade that tapered off towards the tip. After that, it started to get very unreasonable. It grew wider, thicker, and heavier. When she finished, she examined the sword. It was veritably massive, longer than she was tall, and very unrealistically designed. Were she not a magical girl, it'd be unusable at the moment. It seemed like it was meant to rest on one's shoulder, but 80% of the blade was over her back, even with her arms stretched out all the way. This thing was ridiculous, but even it had its merits. Its weight and length, mostly, but also what people would think of it. Yes, it was incredibly impractical, and anyone who would use it seriously likely had a few screws loose, but that was the point. If she were fighting someone experienced, they'd lower their guard under the assumption that she was an idiot. If she were fighting someone unexperienced, they'd be afraid of its sheer size. If she were fighting a slow witch it'd do excellently. She returned it to something more normal, like a gladius. After holding the cartoonishly big sword, this felt like nothing. She looked at the cheap plastic watch on her wrist. Oh yeah, it was about time she got going. Undoing her transformation, she picked up her soul gem and her phone, and put them in her purse. She turned off all her appliances and her game console before walking outside her apartment. She took a second look at what she was wearing. A t-shirt and some pants? Hmm... This was the first time she'd be seeing Azamuku in a while, maybe she should dress better? Nah. She exited her apartment room, locked her door, and exited her apartment building.

While waiting at the bus stop, she only now realized how early it was. The sun wasn't even rising yet. She'd have to remember to make a fuss of some kind to Azamuku about how god damn early she was making her wake up. The early morning bus came after a few minutes, and she sat alone. Did Azamuku really not have anyone else she could ask to help her? Someone, y'know, in the same city? The bus fare would be quite high for a city to city trip. Well, relatively high, and still low with the money she made, but she was bored and complaining kept her busy. To pass the time on the trip between Masaki and Matsuyama, she played on her phone, listened to music, and occasionally did some sight seeing out the window. When the bus at last stopped, the sun had come out. She looked at her phone, pulled up a map, and followed it to Uranami Station. She got there before Aza, surprisingly, and looked around. What happened here? Whatever it was was important enough for Aza to need that other power she had. Azamuku called it psychometry, but she preferred to call it "Touch-N'-Know" because that sounded more accurate and fun than psychic geometry. When at last, Aza had got there, she immediately began complaining. "Wow, Azamuku, if you make people wait this long you won't be popular with the boys! You couldn't leave a chair somewhere for me? My butt hurts from sitting on the ground for so long." She had sat down while waiting. "And what's so important I had to get up before the sun? Who do you think I am, your office worker kouhai or something? No! I'm your friend!" She put her elbow on Aza's shoulder. "That's why you're gonna treat me to a nice meal and reimburse my bus fare. Right, A-za-mu-ku?" She grinned and gave Aza a thumbs up. "If ya' don't, I'm charging you for the use of my Touch-N'-Know."

The moment Nozomi gave her the location, Komi's grin spread wide once again as she placed a hand over her heart, "That's more like it, baby. Keep talking like that and you'll be swimming in Komi points before long."

Kicking her board up into her waiting hand, Komi put a finger to the side of her head as she walked off. She was trying to recall which station was Uranami. She wasn't exactly the type to take the trains do to how often she could just speed over there on a board or bike. Even before she'd ditched school there wasn't much reason for her to use them. She'd probably used it more to get in contact with the other magical girls than she had for daily activities.

She was more the type to just hop on the rails and race the trains to their destinations, just to style on whoever took them for their average commutes. Their stations did tend to have a lot of cool curves and railings to do skateboarding tricks off of, but most were so uniform that it was hard to tell them apart at first glance. Luckily for Komi, she could identify most of the stations specifically off of what kind of tricks she could do there. Uranami had that curved display for the train line map that she could do sick twisting spins off of if she felt the need. The other ones had curved maps too, but Uranami's had the best slope on it.

It was almost exactly when she'd identified which route to take that she noted Agotta running up to her. Thankfully the little runt seemed to finally get a fire lit under her, as she moved with energy than before and was wiping away the moisture from her eyes as she gave Komi some requests. While Komi could understand wanting to fight the monster, she was also a strong proponent of what exactly should happen once the early bird hits up them worms before anyone else.

"Hey, no promises, kid." Komi snickered whilst tossing Fenrir on the ground and hopping on "If monster bro feels the need to get a rocking tan all of a sudden then I'mma be there lighting him up till he's nice and crispy."

But as she boarded away, she did give a wave back, "But sure, Noodle Place, if I ain't tasting its blood before then we can chill for a sec."

Komi frowned once she was out of sight and on the road, she really shouldn't have gone for the tanning metaphor. It just gave her ideas of some nice chicken cooked to perfection. Thankfully the rumbling of her stomach wouldn't succumb to hunger just yet, the hunger for action was far too potent at the moment.

So she didn't take any detours on the way to Uranami, switching Fenrir to its bike mode just in case in order to close the distance quickly. She did change it back to its skateboard form as she neared Uranami itself. Partly it was to act as bait, as surely this innocent magical skateboard wasn't as much of a threat as her obnoxiously loud motorcycle, right? Then again, she really wanted to hit a few tricks in Uranami since she was already heading over.

She had been hoping that the police had cleared out by then, that their restrictions were enough to keep others away. Being alone would make her an even more tempting offer to whatever was skulking around slashing folks left and right. But that wasn't to be the case. Before she even got to the station proper she heard the telltale sounds of someone speaking loudly. Her plan already shot to pieces, Komi figured just being a magical girl would be enough to make her stand out to whatever lurked.

However, that plan also went out the window the second she recognized who was being complained to.

Ole Red-Eye wasn't alone, another girl was there hanging on her shoulder whilst speaking.

Komi couldn't bother to listen to what was being said, mostly because she was too busy taking note of how much she hated her own disinterest sometimes. When Aza had said she'd be off saving everyone with other magical girls, Komi had been convinced that it meant they wouldn't see her for a while. She hadn't figured it meant she'd be investigating the exact same case and bring in someone else to help her do it.

"Well guess I wasn't paying enough attention," Komi whined as she slowed down on her board and came to a stop some ways away from the two, "here I was thinking I'd be getting this magical S.O.B. all to myself."

She gave a shake of her head before smirking at Aza, "Should've figured you'd be right on this thing with..."

She glanced to the unfamiliar face for a second before shrugging, "Whoever that is as back up." She closed her eyes before patting herself on the chest "Still callin' dibs though."

Finding Ciel was not a problem, though she had not thought to ask a terminal for a ride to the location and had come a bit to early. That was the issue with humans they never asked the right questions and were never happy with the answers they were given. Well most of the time Ciel had accepted the whole story well enough, even if to Aza she did not treat the whole situation with the weight it required. In truth if were not for Ciel being basically the ideal girl for this situation Aza likely would have called on another, assuming anyone else could peer into the past like she could. It was the attitude that got to Aza in truth she was bubbly and energetic a polar opposite to what Aza knew she had become if others could not even see when she was hurting. The plan for here was simple enough find out if the thing here could be detected as Aza was sure if had a connection be if a familiar or something else.

Still as Ciel said the word friend Aza visibly flinched a pang of guilt running through her that was quickly smoothened by reason and logic. She had her excuses, she was acting for the greater good and she had given Shinri a way out she just had needed her word. Still despite all the reasons hearing someone else call themselves her friend made Aza recall what being her friend had gotten someone one. Perhaps she should have just done this alone, she could have and then she wouldn't be dragging others into a job that wasn't truly theirs they might live a bit longer if they weren't around her. In the end what was done was done and Ciel was here to help out with the investigation.

" You could have asked a terminal to bring you here, given this was a special request it would have agreed" Aza said pointing out what was obvious to her and not even hiding that the Kyubey most saw was just a face a terminal to talk to other beings with. " But fine I have found a rather nice noodle shop we can visit after this test" She continued not commenting on the friend thing or her reaction to it.

It was then that Komi showed up,. that was good now that the guilt was fading Aza could focus, she did want Komi here having another combat orientated person around was always good when it came to possibly taking on multiple witches. Aza planned to bring Komi into what could be called the inner circle of magical girls, those like herself and Ciel that knew the truth and could understand the good it was for. Komi likely would just like the chance to fight forever, and Aza could in theory arrange that.

" This is Ciel ... a friend of mine" Aza said " Ciel that is Komi one of the three new magical girls of the city " that was enough for introductions now came the hard part getting Komi to pay attention long enough to explain things. " Though we aren't here to hunt but to test if Ciel's touch 'n know" Aza rolled her eyes at the name " will work for anomalies you are welcome to wander off to hunt it if you want" Here Aza paused the implied but hanging in the air " But that is likely a small fry compared to what is coming. You could join us, of the three only you could withstand what you need to know" Aza explained though likely starting lose Komi after big fight " You see Nozomi has some things right there is more to this deal, she just doesn't ask the right questions, to aid us you must know them and most girls die when they do. So want to enter the big leagues or are you happy playing with those two " She asked the last few words holding a slightly spiteful tone.

The next stop seemed to be where Agotta would get off. That was just fine by Nozomi. She wasn't in the habit of doing so, but recent events had left her in the mood to skip school. At least for today.

Stepping off with Agotta, she held her hand out. "Here, pass me your phone." It took a minute of carefully feeling around the keypad to enter her number. "If anything comes up, give me a call. We...gotta stick together, huh?"

Hearing Agotta's request, Nozomi exhaled, leaning down to her slightly. "I don't want to say 'anything', but...I'll listen. What do you need me to do? What's the plan?"

Komi actually had to do a double take at the way Aza described the new girl: as a friend of her's. She didn't know whether the idea of Aza actually managing to have friends made her feel some odd form of pride or a distractingly harsh form of pity, so instead Komi just buried any second thoughts on the matter and focused on what she was really after. She wasn't sure what the oddly named Touch n Know thing this Ciel character could do would get them closer to whatever's been making the rounds, but Komi could ignore the name and how odd it sounded coming from Aza if it did the job.

That being said, the idea of getting to hunting while these two handled the boring part was tempting. She could probably wipe out a whole mess of Familiars and be back before this gal was done doing her thing. But Aza shifted the topic to some information that she claimed Komi would need to know in order to get in with them on the hunt. But as she described it more, Komi frowned and began shifting her skateboard under her foot.

Apparently to join some super secret club she needed to be told something, but Komi was more confused about why it was even necessary in the first place. She couldn't kill this damn thing unless she heard some stupid secret. Was Aza... blueballing her on purpose? Komi once again didn't know if she should be impressed or infuriated that Ole Red Eye managed to scoop together the balls needed for a stunt like this.

So once she finished speaking, Komi casually began to ride her board around them in circles as she gave a few tuts of annoyance.

"Ya know, Red, its chats like these that make me wonder whether you got that whole take forever to say things stuff from the ragdoll or if that was all natural." she gave a chuckle "I don't know what it is about things I need to know that piss me off so much, but it takes me back to when Kyubey was trying to tell me all this worthless nonsense about the dangers posed by witches and how we need seeds to clear our gems. Both of which I never needed to get positively balls-deep into the witch-fighting stuff."

She did a little kick-flip on her board before spreading her arms wide as she rode around them, "So you tell me whatever you gotta, I'mma put down fifty bucks here and now that it's probably way more stupid and unnecessary than you realize. But if you gonna grab me by the groin and say I can't get in on this hunting party you got going on, then sure... whatever, I don't care. Let's just get the boring stuff outta the way so we can get to the kicking this thing's shit in."

She didn't stop rolling, in fact took a moment to grind on the back of a nearby bench as she left the air open for whatever was supposedly so important that a bunch of other MGs up and died when they found out.

bd7b145ff2a98274c571c8c9735694fc.jpg"Just... Don't fight it alone..." Agotta said as Komi left. She didn't think anybody would be able to beat it alone. Anri... lost... and being a magical girl was practically her favorite thing. It gave her permanent cowboy outfit and a gun, so there's no way she slacked off on practicing. Maybe it wasn't strong, and somehow bullets couldn't hurt it? She sincerely hoped that Komi wasn't going to lose to it if she was wrong about it only appearing at night. What fitting behavioral patterns for a monster. Agotta was getting off the train and Nozomi stopped her. She had been forgetting to ask for her number, so she was glad that she gave it to her. Better yet, she'd at least listen to Agotta about fighting the monster. "So... Well, before we can make any big plans... We need to know what exactly we're fighting." Agotta said. "I think it'd be best to get as much people as we can to help us find out about it. Miss Komi would probably jump right into battle, so... I don't think she'd be good for this... Miss Aza would..." Oh yeah, she forgot about what had just happened. "She'd do well in this plan, but I don't think she'll help us..." Agotta started thinking. Nozomi was a ninja, so she could probably do something stealthy, but Agotta really didn't want to ask her to take on the brunt of the work. She needed Nozomi's help in the big fight, and she didn't want to tucker her out before then. Hmm... Someone else who could find the monster, or at least be seen without getting killed... Ah, that's right! She could answer her own problem. "Do you remember last night? After I passed out from..." Oh boy, now she was remembering things. "Uh... Well... After that... I took control of, um, Corviknight... Like, direct control... I was in Corviknight's body... I think that I could make a small Pokémon, like Shuppet or something, and take control of it and go look for it like that... But... I'd have to pass out somehow for that... That'll have to be after school. I don't wanna worry my mom and dad over me not going to school." She said. "I'll see you later, Miss Nozomi... Thank you." She began walking to school now. Things went alright for the most part, until she got to biology class. It just so happened that today was the day they'd start learning about the human body, and for an introduction the teacher had shown the class a kid-friendly cut out, displaying vital parts of the human system. Some of these Agotta had seen first hand. Needless to say, Agotta got into quite a stupor, and was excused from school for the day. Her parents were also considering asking the school's superintendent for her to be excused for the entire week considering the material that class would be covering. Agotta went home and took a nap for the rest of what would be her school day. When she finally woke up, she got a bit of money from her parents and headed for the noodle stand, and just sat at one of the stools. The day wasn't even halfway done, yet it felt like it was going on for an eternity.

Kousaka_Honoka_ALL_STARS.png"I could've?" Ciel asked Aza. "What, were they gonna bring me a taxi? Can't imagine one of your little friends driving a car. Would they have one on the seat and one on the pedals? Another on the stick? If they'd come pick me up, you may as well come along, y'know? We could talk all about how we've been doing since we've last seen each other. I fought a couple of witches and learned I can do some real stupid stuff with my sword. Like, hilariously stupid. Knowing myself, I think I can take it up a notch, though. Those completely immobile witches won't know what hit them." Ciel stopped talking when she heard an unfamiliar female voice. Turning over to where it was coming from, she saw another girl. Magical? Yep. Even if she couldn't tell, she started talking about some magical son of a bitch. She had met Aza before, apparently. Ciel was about to introduce herself when Aza interrupted her perfectly good chance to waste a full minute telling this new girl some sort of made up life story. She had to contain herself when Aza mentioned Touch-N'-Know by the name she gave it. The newcomer, as Aza told her, was named Komi, and apparently Aza liked her enough to consider letting her know all the stuff she was supposed to keep shut on. Well, she had no objections, personally. The magical skateboard that she was finding it hard not to laugh at meant Komi was probably a fast mover, and that's be a nice contrast to her usual slow movement. The new girl was quite annoyed at the fact that she needed to know things to get into fighting. It made Ciel reminisce on her early days. Ah, ignorance truly is bliss.

"We're already exposing the secrets to this newcomer?" She asked Aza. "Come on, you brought me over to touch things, now tell me what I need to be touching! We can tell her about how she'll explode if she drinks her tea with too much sugar later!" She pretended to have let something slip, putting on a shocked expression and a hand over her mouth, looking at Komi. "Oh... Oh no. You didn't know that you'll explode when you drink tea that's more than 20% sugar, did you? I'm so sorry..." She bowed in apology to Komi. "We can talk more over food after I'm done here. Maybe you could convince Azamuku to pay for your food as well. You're not as close to her as I am, so I wouldn't bet on it." She watched Komi grind a bench with her skateboard, and started having trouble not bursting out laughing. So much so she was actually hunching over.

If there was a god Aza was quite sure they hated her right no, these two were not a combo she had expected both having their own special ways to annoy her. Komi was being offered a full explanation but could only get to the hunt, even the simplest of hunter if offered info on their prey knew they should take it. Ciel was well Ciel that was the best way to describe it and even that annoyed her some, but it was tolerable and aza sometimes fancied they would make a good stand up routine. She would need to sum it up for Komi likely leaving out the vaster explanations of how they were saving the universe, she would also need to explain herself. Ciel did ask about revealing all this to a newbie, but Aza felt komi could be trusted.

" Ciel you can head into the security office and touch anything and everything there. There was something there perhaps a familiar perhaps not, I need to know because it is related to the disappearance of the other girls. And yes as annoying as Komi can be her uncaring attitude and suicidal hatred of learning but the most basic fact means she might not turn" Aza explained both insulting and praising Komi.

" Well given there is fifty bucks on the line lets start with the big thing Witches are magical girls whose soul gems turn completely dark " She said not even pretending to be polite or dressing it up " and the Witch you landed the killing blow on the other day was Agotta's friend Anri, that is why I knew she was not among the missing" Aza continued deciding it was best to drive the point as deep as possible by bringing up Anri and the futile search for her. In truth Aza sounded more annoyed that she had to condense this all down and her normally impassive face actually showed her annoyance. " I would explain why it all happens and why it must be, but well you are you so just understand that it is all for something good" Aza said sighing at the last part actually more animated without the other girls around. She was with vets or well a vet and Komi so she didn't need to be the teacher. " Oh also your soul gem is your soul it breaks you die, and I sound like kyubey because thanks to my wish I am part of it's hivemind " She finished thinking it over making sure her speed run over magical girl secrets was finished. If Komi didn't break from that then Aza had made the right call and if she did , well Aza coudl kill her witch form as they did have to make up the energy she had lost the other night. " So yeah there you go the big secrets of this whole thing, most girls kind of go mad about it"

Fairly uncertain as to how to spend her newly vacant day, Nozomi found herself wandering around the industrial sector of the city, full of factories and offices, but just as many spaces where one venture or another had failed, leaving behind empty, dusty buildings or even vacant lots that were unappealing to any buyers due to their location.

As she passed by one such place, the smell of cigarette smoke made Nozomi’s nose itch. Someone was here. Whoever they were, they probably didn’t want to be disturbed, so she should just-

“Oi, nee-san.” A voice called out to her. A boy. “You look lost. Why don’t you come and sit down here with us?” They didn’t sound old. Clearly they were delinquents, probably from a different school. What Nozomi was doing today was a habit for them. Probably the kind of people who would be Komi’s groupies too, Nozomi thought snidely.

No matter what, she still didn’t want to stick around. “No, I think I’ll just leave now-”

As she took a few steps away, the gravel covering the ground behind her crunched and a hand grabbed onto her shoulder. “Aw, don’t go so soon, nee-san.” A different voice, a girl. “You know, it’s not safe around here for a girl like you. We can send you home, if you got a little something for us…”

“I don’t have any money.” Nozomi grumbled, doing her best to pull away.

“Trying to hold out on us? Let’s see how long you last without this!” Before she could react, yet another kid tugged on Nozomi’s cane, the first girl holding her arms so she couldn’t fight back.

“You…! Get your hands off-!” Before the delinquents could get far, an unmistakable chill washed over the area. Nozomi’s soul gem lit up in her pocket. A witch…? Almost on cue, she heard the kids fall to their knees one by one, their bodies failing them in the oppressive atmosphere of the witch’s barrier.

“...Fine.” Squeezing her soul gem tight, Nozomi closed her eyes, letting what remained of its bright energy engulf her. When she opened them, their surroundings had already turned into…a dusty, dreary throne room in a ruined castle. Atop the throne sat a gangly, torn ragdoll-like figure, with black smoke pouring out of her seams and her button eyes glowering with rage. A crown topped by a bright pink, heart-shaped gem sat upon her head. Perhaps in her mind she was imagining repelling invaders within her domain.

With a screech from the Queen of Hearts, a battalion of toy soldiers, no taller than knee-high, popped out of hatches in the floor. The same pink heart adorned their armor and shields. In unison, the archers drew back their bows, aiming at the now-helpless kids…

“You guys, find cover!” For a moment Nozomi felt like a hero again like she did the first time. Like this was worth it. Landing in front of them, she touched one of the rusty, decrepit suits of armor standing silently by the walls. With a wave of her other hand, shimmering red copies of the armor formed a defensive line in front of Nozomi and the others. The copies couldn’t move, but they could take a few hits before disappearing.

As the arrows plinked off the suits of armor, Nozomi leapt off one of their shoulders, allowing the familiars to lose track of her. The moment they dispersed, the familiar spearmen charged, inviting a scream from the ground. In a flash, several wires fired from Nozomi’s bracer, anchoring into the walls and floor. Either too stupid or too determined to stop, the spearmen tore apart as they tried to push through the web of steel, spilling stuffing and cloth.

Nozomi landed amidst the little toy cavalry on their little toy horses, a naginata in her hand as she cleaved through them like a scythe through wheat.

“Rei, look out!”

“Seiji, no!”

Nozomi’s head whipped back. A few stragglers had withstood her assault, lunging with spears and swords at the kids. And one of them was trying to shield the others. At least they had the decency to look out for each other. “Stay down!” She flung forth a handful of kunai with unerring accuracy, leaving the familiars impaled on the wall behind them.

And that distraction was all the opening the Queen needed to slam into Nozomi with the deadly force of her long, fluffy arm, sending her flying. With a furious grunt, Nozomi grabbed onto a column, sliding back down to the ground. Maintaining her grip, she conjured an outline of the column in front of her, just in time to watch it shatter into a million glowing pieces as it absorbed the witch’s next blow.

That’s it…” Summoning the last of her rapidly depleting strength, Nozomi shot her grappling hook over the witch’s shoulder, hurling herself towards the ceiling once more. As she flew, copies of her filled the air, swinging translucent swords at the witch. It took more effort to make copies that could move, and at this distance no human would be fooled…but that chance was all she needed. Just as planned, the witch flailed at the numerous distractions…and Nozomi fell straight down on her, ninjato in a backhand grip.

“Go to hell.” With a single slash, it was off with her head. Despite her throat being sliced open, the witch managed to shriek in rage as those anatomically impossible monstrosities tended to, before finally dissolving along with her familiars.

The world around them shifted and rumbled, gradually falling away. Back in the real world, the prize sat where the throne would have been. This time, it was all hers. Nozomi wasted no time grabbing it, taking a glance back at her would-be bullies. They were unconscious and only lightly bruised and scratched from falling all over themselves in their panic. It was just a bad dream to them, but they’d take a while to recover.

Picking up her cane before turning back, Nozomi touched the seed to her gem, letting out a guttural sigh of relief as the light returned to it. Her body felt…much lighter and healthier, though her heart was as burdened as ever.

And wasting no time, yet another Kyubey sat expectantly by the road, silently watching her like a begging dog. Though even dogs would not have such soulless eyes.

Nozomi’s lips curled. “Go, fetch.” The depleted grief seed clinked off the road as she flung it. Not knowing or caring about being offended, the Kyubey dutifully collected it as she left.

Komi was in the middle of balancing on her board on the very end of a rail, only half hearing Ciel's words. By the time she was finished, Komi hand managed to do a jump spin whilst managing to land right back on the rail. She pumped her fist on it, but only half-heartedly leaned her head back once Ciel was done.

"What kinda disrespectful punk puts sugar in their damn tea?" she asked before shaking her head "Gotta be hangin' round better people if they be spitting in your face like that."

She was almost about to attempt a different hop when Aza sent Ciel away and began talking again. She ignored the way Ole Red went and mixed her insults and compliments together when speaking about her, mostly because the fact she felt able to get Komi into whatever secret society crap she was going on about more than proved that other stuff didn't matter at all. But it was when she began talking about the big and mysterious TRUTH that Komi finally hopped with her skateboard of the rail and rode it to a stop beside her.

As a show of good faith, Komi tried to keep looking at her as she spoke, only for her eyelids to get heavier and heavier with each passing sentence. Komi rubbed at the side of her face once, snickering for a moment before letting her hand drop to her side. She rolled her board back and forth several times with her foot, but was more than once finding her eyes being drawn past Aza to that glorious, curved map that Uranami Station was so beloved for.

Sure, she was totally still listening. Magical Girls are witches, Komi went and killed Agotta's witchified bestie, losing your soul gem literally meant losing your soul, all that big stuff.

But that sign, it beckoned.

She was almost going to just let Aza finish up whilst she ramped that sign with the force of a thousand suns, but then ole red eye said something that made Komi's gaze snap back towards her has her expression twisted into something of a confused grimace. She stopped shifting her skateboard, and actually stepped off of it as Aza finished so she could directly in front of her and look her up and down. Komi had to close her eyes for a second, take a deep breath to lose the grimace.

When she finally opened them, she raised one finger and pointed to Aza, "I'm not gonna make you give me that fifty bucks, Red." she stated before casting her gaze to the side and waving a hand "Because while all that other stupid stuff really was as pointless as I thought-"

She let her hand drop before raising an eyebrow at Aza, "The idea of using a once in a lifetime magical girl wish specifically to become part of whatever the stuffed animal's got going on up there, has got to be the single most tragic thing I could've ever heard... in my life."

She closed her eyes and gave shrug "I just wouldn't be able to take that fifty. Hell, I don't even want to cheese you into buying me snacks just to prove a point to that gal pal of yours. I'd just feel bad."

Fenrir moved on its own, rolling beside Komi so she could kick it up into the air. She held her arm out to catch it, but that didn't wipe the frown off her face. She just leaned the board over her shoulder and nodded to Aza with a sigh.

"Anything else you wanna drop on me or we getting to whatever you're testing with that Galpal?" Komi asked whilst walking around Aza and eyeing the office where she'd sent Ciel, muttering under her breath as she did so "Was all fired up to kick ass and you had to go bumming me out with that Wish stuff... damn."

Kousaka_Honoka_ALL_STARS.png"Aye aye, captain!" Ciel said, making a saluting gesture before walking away and leaving Komi to what ever happened after she learned. She waltz'd into the middle of the train station's lobby, and then transformed. Holding her soul gem in the middle of her chest, like a valiant knight holding his sword, she began to transform. The gem merged with her chest as armor began to assemble itself onto her. Instead of some sort of girly costume with a skirt of some kind, it looked as if she had turned into a museum display on the medieval era. She began to focus. She forgot to get some sort of time frame from Aza, so that she wouldn't have to just throw guesses at a wall. She sighed, and approached the main hallway into the building. It wasn't well guarded, really, but there was usually someone on duty during active hours, and Japan wasn't a place with a lot of terrorism. What would one steal from a train station? She knelt down, and placed her hand on the ground, activating Touch-N'-Know. The most vague search was first. It was like barely opening her eyes. She could make out the essence of what had passed through recently. She could sense that magical girls had been here recently, so she wasn't in the wrong place. She searched more specifically. The metaphorical eye was open, and its gaze was jumping from place to place. She quickly found that last night, magical girls and regular people were here. Most intriguing however, was a death around that time. She jumped an hour back, and slowly made her way forward. Her eye was now wide open, and focused. The events of the time began to take shape around her, but living beings were only like glowing lights. She looked around. So, first, it looked like four magical girls were making their way down the hall. No, that's not right. Two of the energies were really small, so they were likely familiars of some kind. Two magical girls and two familiars, she assumed. Because of their nature, a magical girl's familiar read with the same energy as an actual girl to her ability. She followed them through the building. They seemed to not want to be caught, judging by how carefully they were proceeding. She followed them as they slowly made their way through, and eventually entered a room. The room, however, had a police officer waiting outside.

"Hey, what're you doing here?" He said upon noticing Ciel. They sent the familiars around to watch out for people, and then hung around the entrance to the room. She reached for the doorknob, only to find out it was locked. "Hey, what're you doing? You're not allowed to be here!" The officer said, his voice rising in volume. "Do you know something about the crime that happened here? What the hell are you wearing? Hey-" Ciel yanked the doorknob through its hole. The police officer stared in awe as she softly opened the door on him. So the two girls were hanging around in the door frame, while a human sat in a chair. He must've been asleep or something judging by the fact he stayed still. The taller one finally went in and plugged a phone into the computer at the guard's desk. She was copying a bunch of security camera footage onto her phone. Why the hell would she be doing that? She seemed to have woken up the guard though, because they started to move and the whole event went from zero to 100 quite fast. Tall girl threw a smoke grenade down, and they both began to run. After getting halfway down the hall the office they were in, they suddenly turned right around and went the other way. She began to follow them, picking up a light jog to keep up with them. They got to an exit, opened the door, and began to move away in three-dimensions, using a wire of some kind. She lost interest in whatever they were doing. She sensed a death, and hadn't seen it yet. Jogging back to the office, she made it just in time to see something round the corner. It was an absolutely gigantic magical girl. It seemed to just barely fit into this building. She backed up a bit to the ajar door and watched it enter the guard's office somehow. It didn't seem to duck at all to avoid slamming into the door frame. She slipped around it to watch it approach the security guard, then see the human essence fade. Her eyes widened at this point. What the fuck? Whoever she was, she had just killed the security guard. As the next events proceeded, Ciel's mind changed to refer to this as a what rather than a who. She very much wished that corpses were blotted too, because this thing seemed to have fun butchering this poor man. Yep, whatever this was seemed to be the reason Aza dragged her here. After some disgusted groans from Ciel, the thing left the office, then stood still before going around the building again. It seemed mostly empty at this moment, except for- Ciel prayed to god that the tiny energies really were just someone's familiars, because the giant began chasing them, and then they disappeared. She wasn't subjected to another snuff film, so she was probably right. Maybe this was, too? After it was done with the two familiars, it left through the same exit as the magical girls. However, it went the opposite direction, hugging the wall and slipping into some alleyways. Ciel turned Touch-N'-Know off before looking into the alley. She sighed in relief as she made sure the thing wasn't in there. It was somewhere. Although she could likely follow it, she had gotten pretty spooked from what she just saw. Now it was time to return to Aza.

"Hey, Azamuku." She said, approaching her and Komi again. "Give me some kind of warning next time. Fuck! Unfortunately for you, having to see that didn't ruin my appetite. I'll definitely be getting my meat well-done though." She suddenly remembered something. "Oh yeah, you don't know shit." Ciel seemed to have a habit of swearing a lot with riled up. "Well anyways, there was the essence of five magical girls and one human. Four of the essences made their way to the security guard's office slowly, two of the essences, quite small in size, were leading the way. When the group arrived at the security guard's office, the smaller ones split up and the two larger ones went into the room. On the chair sat the human. The largest of the four began to copy footage from the building's cameras onto her phone. The human essence began to move, and the two in the room set a smoke screen down and fled. However, after beginning to flee the way they came, they went the other way and took a side exit. They then escaped via a wire of some kind. I went back to the office to see our fifth magical girl essence slip into the room and kill the human. I know you want me to keep this objective, but it eviscerated him. It was a security guard, which I could tell after he stopped living. Our fifth essence then tracked the smaller two from our earlier group and they vanished as well. It then left the scene, going through an alley way." Ciel cleared her throat after that long winded explanation. "What I believe happened was that two magical girls, and two of their familiars, broke into the building and stole security camera footage, then left after waking up the guard. Instead of leaving the way they came, something caused them to look for a different exit. Somehow they knew of- Well, let's call it the fifth for now- they felt the fifth was approaching through where they entered and that it also posed a threat to them. The fifth then approached the security guard, killed and mutilated him, and then left. Whatever the hell it was, I don't know. I kinda don't want to know. This all happened yesterday night, by the way." She stretched her arms and cleared her throat again. "Can we get going now? I want miso soup to moisten my throat from all that talking. Also, there was a cop by the office, and he's probably calling back up. I broke the door." Ciel had already taken the initiative and started walking, undoing her transformation and pocketing her soul gem. "You know anybody with familiars? Kinda short? Hangs around with someone taller than herself? The most logical explanation I can think of is that the fifth is a really big familiar that belongs to some girl. It's a really fuckin' faulty explanation because none of what it did was logical, but it's the best I can come up with."

Aza really should have expected how Komi reacted if there wasn't a fight then she didn't care. It was both nice to have someone who didn't care they were doomed to be a witch, but also super annoying that she seemed unable to treat things with the weight that was required. Aza didn't really want to explain what she had thought she was wishing for to get everything Kyubey had, she had been greedy and though she would gain all the magic and knowledge of kyubey. She had not realized that it meant being part of them,. but if she was going to complain Komi was not the person to do that to. Looking for a shoulder to cry would leave her finding none and there was not real point getting attached to the girls. Knowledge that she would likely be immortal and confusion on if her soul gem even mattered given her mind was kyubey's mind meant she didn't know if she would truly die if the gem was shattered. Aza had even given Komi the short version and she had found it hard to pay attention for more than a minute. Aza decided Komi needed a little bit of bad news as pay back for her attitude.

" Well can't say this was unexpected, or that you get jokes any more than before, but well there won't be a fight here" Aza explained that last bit was the only news that could likely get to Komi. " The others are hunting it and I just want to make sure Ciel's ability will work on the 100 or so witches that were born from the girls taking the info you just got badly" Aza explained putting emphasis on just how many girls that had been killed by knowing what she now knew.

It was then Ciel came back and started her report, honestly Aza pulled a Komi and ignored most of it being able to guess who was who and only caring about the information about the fifth. " What matters was you were able to detect the fifth on, given it's with the fuckery going on with the vanishing. I needed to make sure it your power would work on it. " Aza said not surprised by the story at all given she had seen it all through the terminals, just not the creature that as she had been focused on the two girls not their pets. " Also don't worry about those two girls, I was aware of what they were doing they are 9 year old Agotta and 17 year old Nozomi. I have the terminals watching them" Aza explained turning back to normal

Aza then looked to Komi " Well you could go fight the cops if you want, it seems we are getting food up to you if you want to come " Aza said not really thinking Komi would come " After all most of what we will be doing might be a bit to wordy for you" Aza continued willing to just call Komi in when she was needed as she didn't want to hear Komi whine about how they were fighting or skateboarding over possible clues.
