Episode One: Getting Familiar

Hello, welcome to the first episode of Love Island: Ex on the Beach! Our participants have all arrived and been brought to the island by boat. They have been picked up and are dropped off on the island seperately. So no prior interaction has been possible. The participants have been allowed to take with them whatever they could carry themselves, but have been told that most was provided for them at the mansion. However if they wish to take a million clothes with them, their choice. If they chose to pack lightly, no problem either. In order to make the introductions not too overwhelming and easier interaction possible, the directors have chosen to drop the participants off in little groups. One group will start north of the masnion (at the Lake), one group will be dropped off west to the mansion (at the scuba dive point) and one group will be dropped east of the mansion (on path towards the stables). Of course, the participants have been selected in such a way that none of them are dropped in a same group as their ex. Let's keep that drama for a bit later, shall we? For now, let's see how our participants fair.

It is 12 February around 11AM. The weather on the island is nice. It is sunny with a soft breeze. They arrive with a temperature of 25°C (77,5°F) and that will climb up during the day to 26°C (78°F). Around 21:30 (9:30PM) the temperature will start to drop, reaching the lowest point of 24°C (76°F) at 03:00 (3AM). The average water temperature is 27°C (80°F). Upon arrive there are some clouds, but during the day they will clear up.
Objective
Each group has to figure out how to get to the mansion. The group arriving first will get a bonus of 500 credits each. The group arriving second will receive 250 credits. The group arriving last will receive nothing, sadly. Each participants has a map of the island on their phone and a dot indicating where he or she is on the map. However there are no further indications of where the mansion or other participants are. For each group it would take 30 minutes to reach the mansion, if they go the right way, that is.

Dante
Forced Ending
Traveling was not something Lorenzo D'Antonio was unfamiliar with. Even having people hold up a sign with his name was rather normal bussiness for him. Now, that may sound a bit aloof, but he wasn't. Far from it. He just traveled a lot for his works and there was a lot of times he had to follow people with name signs to get to the right location for a shooting, an interview or a party. He was not overly world famous or something like that. He was no Anna Hathaway or Ryan Reynolds, by far from that. He had only done some side roles and minor roles, still he had made an appearance in quite a lot of movies and series. Enough to be recognized on the streets and have some personal fanbase. It had mostly started with his werewolf roles in True Blood and Teen Wolf. Yet Supernatural was also on his resume. Though that had not lasted too long, before everything had gone downhill very fast. Not only personally, with losing his mother, but also romantically with losing… He let out a deep sigh and then scolded himself. He couldn't, he shouldn't dwell on the past. For months he was trying to move on now, but still... every time things got too serious, he couldn't help but to back out. None of them met up to Skylar...

Dante, as he was called by the media and he liked to call himself, watched the world pass by as the cabdriver took him to the ports. And from there it was up on a boat and then finally the island. He was glad, he had decided to only take his old sturdy messenger bag with him. It had all his toiletries and one pair of clean clothing. It had been said there would be clothes in the mansion, where they were staying, but he rather was safe than sorry in the end. He swung it onto his shoulder as the boat dropped them off on the shore. Not at the mansion, as he had expected, but quite a bit further down the beach.
He wasn’t the only one getting dropped off either. Two males and two females had been dropped as well, around the same time as he was it seemed. He smiled, not just because of the females stunning beauty, but just to be polite and well, he was on a freaking tropical island! Away from the stress of shooting, away from the craziness with fans and what all not. He took off his shoes and put them in the bag, before jumping into the water to walk the last bit to the shore. He didn't want to trouble the crew too much with having to dock and all that. Besides the water seemed nice.

The Italian had been quite right about that. The water was a lovely temperature as the liquid played up his calves. He was wearing his sand colored Bermudas exactly for this reason so he did not have to worry about his clothes getting wet. Water, he loved being on, it and around it. He ran a hand through his hair, tousling it a bit as he walked onto the lose sand. He flashed his bright camera ready smile as he looked at the other persons and took in their reactions. "It feels good, doesn't it?" he asked, in general. The loose sand was happy with clinging to every part of his wet skin as he walked closer up to them. This was always a rather awkward moment, for him at least. Would they recognize him? He had been part of rather popular American shows after and this was a mainly American show. Or at least, he had a feeling it was. So he assumed most people were from America and he was one of the great exceptions.

"Did you guys have a good travel up here?" Dante asked, just to get some conversation going. He gently took the hand of one of the women, with fierce red hair. His lips hardly even striking the back of her smooth skin as he looked up with a charming. "I'm Lorenzo D'Antonio," he introduced himself to her, yet at the same time in general. Again, he didn’t want to assume they knew him from the series he had been part of. He came up straight again as he gently let go of her hand and then walked up to the other lady with beautiful dark waves. "But please, call me Dante," he spoke, as he repeated the same action of taking and kissing the back of her hand. Perhaps a bit smooth way of introducing himself, but it was just part of the Italian charm. He turned towards both males, though simply holding out his hand for a firm handshake when it came to them.

Isolde de Vries
One and One makes Three

”Thank you very much,” Isolde spoke with a soft melodic voice as she stepped out of the jeep. She took a deep breath as she looked around at her surrounding, though she was pretty much dropped of in the middle of nowhere. She took a few steps, high heels sinking away in soft underground. Sure, it was obviously a well-kept path that she stood on, it wasn’t paved or anything like that. However that didn’t mind she would take off her heels, not even the slightest chance. Other than her high heels, the rest of her outfit also didn’t really correspondence with the outdoor surroundings. Obviously she had been dressed for the sub-tropical temperatures, but not for some hike through nature. Not that she particularly minded such thing, she had just not expected it. ”Well then…” she spoke as she carefully stepped away when the jeeps drove off the same way they had come.

With the jeeps out of the way, there was finally a chance to get a view of the other participants. Two other females and one male, it seemed. All of them seemingly coming from very different lives, but that was what made this so fun, right? Her eyes slid over the two other ladies for a moment, one of them seeming to have some Asian heritage, the other obviously having some African roots. All of them equally stunning. Then again, who would cast a non-attractive person for a show like this? She looked over the male, though again there was not much she could say about them. She was never one for first judgements anyway. Isolde quickly pulled the hair tie from her wrist to pull her hair into a high ponytail so it wouldn’t be too much in the way. Or get sticky and glued to the back of her neck, since obviously they had a bit of a walk to the mansion and with these temperatures that would surely bring out a sweat. She pulled her phone from the little purse she carried and opened up the camera to check her hair, at the same time doing a quick make up check, before she turned back towards the rest of the group. ”I say we go that way,” she decided and pointed in the opposite direction they had come from and the jeeps had disappeared back to.

”Let’s walk and talk!” the brunette added as she started to go down the direction she had pointed out, without even listening to whatever arguments the others may have. She had never really been a good team player, being part of a research team was a different story though. But this was not a research, this was a competition more or less. She had not seen anything that indicated a mansion on the way here, so she felt this was the right way to go. She checked the, rather useless, map that had been installed on the phone. And even though she had agreed, she wasn’t too sure how she felt of being cut off from the social media and any contact with her family. Not that she was very active, but still… But at least like this she couldn’t be distracted by work, or the search for a new job, so perhaps it was for the better indeed. She wished she could keep her little brother, who was responsible for all this, up to date though. Then again, they were surrounded by a million cameras and all of this would be broadcasted on tv. Not live, luckily. She wasn’t too sure when the episodes were broadcasted, since whatever was recorded would need some editing at the very least, right? She didn’t want to think too much about it either as she turned a bit towards her little group to see who had followed her lead.

”Come on everyone, we are not getting anywhere by standing around!” she called over her shoulder. Despite not really wearing the suitable footwear, she still kept up a brisk pace. She really wanted those 500 credits, or no, it wasn’t really about the credits or money for her. She just didn’t want to be second. There was still a friendly smile on her face as she checked the time. The producers had mentioned it should be doable in 30 minutes, so if they were not at the mansion in half an hour… Nope, it had to be this way. It wouldn’t make sense for the mansion to be on the other end of the island. She checked the map again, though the little dot that indicated her position had hardly moved. Than again she had the map fully zoomed out, so that was not much of a surprise.

"Thanks’ for the ride Sal!" Ramona smiled, making sure to high-five the captain before disembarking the small boat. Although the two had only known each other for a short while, they were quick to become fast friends. It was just the sort of charm Ray’s personality exuded. It’s often hard to dislike someone so optimistic.

"Of course, Ro-Ro! It’s the perfect day for some fun in the sun. I’m sure you’ll have a great time."

With a whimsical salute, she took hold of her belongings and turned to face the island in all its glory. The area was no less than picturesque. From the crystal-clear water, to the brilliant white sand that dusted the shore. Everything seemed perfectly clean and fresh. Up ahead she could see the lush green of healthy plant life. The pristine nature of well... nature was enough to make her head spin.
She wished she could share this moment with her older brother. He was one of her best and only friends. Unfortunately, the producers of the show had split them up as part of the objective they were now facing.

After a moment, her eyes lit up in remembrance. Although most of her phones main features were deactivated at the start of her journey, the producers made sure to include a few functions that would help the contestants during the show. While all other contacts had been blocked from communication, the contestants were still able to talk amongst each other via text.

iphone-o4qB.png

With a shrug Ramona shut off the screen and stuffed her phone in the front pocket of her bag. She knew her brother well enough to know that he was not much of a talker. It would be foolish to wait around for him to respond.

Though the producers assured Ramona that the mansion had everything she would need as far as clothing, food, and other essentials. It was out of habit that Ray packed a bag simply for the peace of mind. Inside it were a few items including; her tarot deck, a few granola bars, a bag of trail mix, a large water bottle, her yoga mat, and Lancelot. Her childhood teddybear. She also brough a few of her favorite outfits just in case; some comfy pants, a swimsuit, band tees, a hoodie, and a few crop tops. As well as her hiking boots, and her favorite perfume. Nag Champa was a scent that always reminded Ray of her mother.

Other than the colorful pack strapped to her back, she also made sure to bring her trusty steel drum. Dragging the large instrument to the mansion was going to be pretty annoying. But Ramona was sure it would all be worth it once she hears its’ calming melody echo off the ocean waves.

It was at this moment that she finally noticed her fellow companions. Along the shoreline, she could see three individuals. Two of which were males. Both extremely tall, obviously handsome, and built with a lean muscular frame that most men aspire to attain in their lifetimes. However, their similarities seemed to end there. One of the two had shaggy chestnut hair and striking aquatic eyes. He seemed hesitant... maybe even nervous?

Meanwhile, the other guy next to him had smooth, rich, chocolate-colored skin... well apart from the scraggly shadow on his face that he neglected to shave. His eyes were narrowed, and his lips held tight in an annoyed frown. But it was his hair that had caught her attention. Ramona had always adored the history of dreads. Although she had never gathered the patience it took to take care of such a hairstyle.

Finally, standing off to the side was a captivating beauty with mahogany waves framing her delicate face. The femme fatale was a few inches taller than Ray and seemed to be assessing the surrounding area. She seemed kind… curious even.

Ramona parted her lips in an attempt to introduce herself when the sound of splashing made her lose her train of thought. She noted that the disturbance came from behind where she stood. Ray turned around only to see another contestant wading in the water. Talk about handsome. His dashing good looks were enough to cause the redhead to raise her eyebrows.

"Why didn't I think of that? She thought numbly.

"It feels good doesn't it?"
He grinned as he awkwardly made his way toward them. The sand seemed to cling to him with every step he took making his movements wobbly and unsure.

"Did you guys have a good travel up here?"

He neared Ramona and reached forward, gently clasping her hand with his own. Much like a gentleman starring in a romantic novel, he brought her palm up to his lips, gently brushing a kiss across its’ back. The motion was quick, almost unnoticeable. But it was enough for Ray to catch her breath when Dante made eye contact.

"I'm Lorenzo D'Antonio." He spoke before moving towards Skylar and repeating the same gesture.

"But please... call me Dante."

Ray blinked, still in disbelief of what had just happened. Maybe it was a cultural thing? She did notice a slight twinge in his accent. Regardless, the redhead absolutely adored people whose actions strayed from the societal norm. Her jade green eyes seemed to sparkle with excitement before turning to survey the ocean once more.

"Well Dante... not only do you seem to be quite the charmer." She chuckled as she placed her few belongings on the sand and kicked off her sandals.

"But you also seem to come up with the most brilliant ideas."

Before anyone could respond or even introduce themselves, Ramona propelled herself forward with a playful shriek. She dived into the water only to surface up and float on her back. Everything was perfect. The weather was sunny, not too hot. Not too cold either. The water surrounding her matched that of a heated pool. Refreshing yet comfortable.

She wasn't too worried about her clothes getting wet, the fabric used to make her pants had been made from a light material. One of which was sure to dry quickly. It was her hair she should be worried about... Leonidas was guaranteed to have a couple of knots later.

As she floated around, she took a few moments to close her eyes and enjoy the feeling of the waves pulsing around her. Ray ignored the social graces and protocol that usually came with meeting people for the first time. She never cared if she was acting eccentric or abnormal. She never cared if others stared or cast unwanted opinions. Ray always marched to the beat of her own drum caught in her own little world... and she liked it that way.

The last thing she wanted to do was fit into other peoples molds just to please them.

The Jeep had just pulled up to the edge of the lake. Hendrix seemed to be the first contestant in their group to arrive at the designated location. With a nod to the driver, he kicked the door open and stepped out of the car.

Since the producers promised that all his basic needs would be taken care of. That there would be food, clothing, etc. at the mansion, Hennie saw no need to bring any of his belongings. His only personal items were his phone, the outfit he was wearing, and his fathers leather jacket. A most prized possession that he never went anywhere without.

“Right then.” He mused as he surveyed the area.

“Time to get started I guess.”

Previously when he had been in the car and traveling towards the lake, he made sure to look over the first assignment the producers had sent to his phone. Apparently he and his group were to use the map and find their way to the mansion in record time. The first group to get there wins a prize.

“Piece of cake.” He thought with a smirk.

“Now I just got to wait for my team to arrive and then we can get this show on the road.”

Having grown up in the boonies of Oregon, Hendrix had learned a few things during his treks through the wild forests. When he was a child his father would take the time to teach him basic survival skills. During their hikes he would go over and demonstrate vital topics just in case one of them got lost in the woods.

Hendrix knew how to build a shelter, scavenge for food, build a fire, as well as how to fish and set up traps. He also was taught how to use the sky as a compass. Comparing the position of the sun/moon with time and direction.

He studied the map on his phone for a few moments Noting that it was an hour before noon. Thankfully, the sun was not directly above him which gave some indication on what position he was at on the island.

“Well obviously I’m starting here.” He murmured pointing to the lake icon.

“This body of water is too small to be an ocean. Plus, we are surrounded by trees.”

He tilted his head back to study the sky and survey the position the sun was in. After triple checking the data he had collected, he was confident in which direction the group should go.

A chime sounded as he received a text.

“Sis…” He smiled fondly as he read the message… well messages.

iphone-oerB.png

After responding and pressing “send,” he slid his phone into his back pocket and crossed his arms. Nearby he spotted a decent sized stump to comfortably sit on. He walked over and before relaxing, grabbed large stick on the ground.

With a flick of his wrist, he pulled out his pocketknife and switched the blade open. Taking his time to carve out a design all while waiting for his group to arrive.

Dani Kim

”I know, I know” Dani offered the driver a comforting hug. She wasn’t quite sure what it was, but she appeared to have the kind of look that made people spill their secrets. How she wished that she didn’t. She thought as she exited the car. Secrets were a messy business, and she tended to stay away from messy businesses. Hopefully she’d forget about Alice’s marriage woes as she saw the mansion for the first time.

She took a glance around her surroundings. Perhaps a desert of some sort? Hopefully not. Though she had forgot more about camping than most people remember, due in part to trailing along Hendrix’s camping trips when she was a kid, she still didn’t particularly enjoy hiking or camping without the promise of growing closer to your childhood crush.

Worst case scenario, she had an appropriate outfit on. A t-shirt and shorts were certainly beach and desert friendly. Not the sexiest, but she could always call for other outfits should she need them.

”Well then…” The rich-looking lady said. “Yeah?” she questioned, not sure what to make of that statement. The lady was gorgeous. Unmistakably so. In fact both of them clearly were. Not that that was a shock. Nobody wanted to see average looking people find love. Except for maybe a vocal minority of average looking people.(Herself included)

Though tempted to fall into the reality show habit of sizing up her competitors, she decided against it. What was the point? Sure finding love would be amazing, but that wasn’t the only goal. If she had to choose between all the credits she could get on this show, and an attractive man who she’d break up with the following year, she’d choose the money.

”I say we go that way,” Dani nodded. As far as she was aware there was no map, so this seemed like the best bet.

”Let’s walk and talk!” Dani grinned, and ran up to the lady, without even getting the chance to answer her question. She didn’t mind her non team-ness. Dani had spent most of her life being the backup to someone’s team. Whether it be Hendrix or his band, or her boss. While it seemed sad, some people just had to be take the backseat until it was their turn.

As she checked her phone, for the first time since arrival she was pleasantly surprised to discover there was indeed a map. Sure it wasn’t too helpful, but it was a start. And the fact that she still had a phone at all was kind of a blessing. Sure she couldn’t update her insta with tattoo pics for a while, but since she probably wouldn’t be tattooing that wasn’t too much of an issue. And she could still play games on her phone.

”Come on everyone, we are not getting anywhere by standing around!” “Coming!” Dani called out running as fast as she could. They had to win this thing. She had to get that money. If she didn’t then how could she open up her own shop? She was basically a broke child who liked drawing. “Are we getting closer?” She questioned Isolde since she was the one with the map.

Skylar Cavallo
Hot and Cold
Skylar woke up the morning of the start of the show with a smile on her face and excitement in her step. She’d been awaiting the start of this show since the day she’d been notified that she’d been chosen to be one of the participants. She had several reasons for being so excited and eager to leave for the show. One was that she loved to travel and spending twelve weeks on a beautiful private island sounded like a dream come true to her. Another was that it allowed her to get the hell away from her overbearing witch of a mother. Kali Alicia Janine Cavallo had been worse than usual lately, stuffing her nose in every nook and cranny of Skylar’s life so she could endlessly judge her “ungrateful” daughter’s life choices. The woman was exhausting to deal with, and the show was a twelve-week long break from her insanity. Finally, her last reason was that she had been thinking about calling Mateo a lot lately, and the show, especially considering she was being cut off from all contact with anyone outside the show, was a way to stop herself from making that mistake for the millionth time.

Knowing everything she really needed would be at the mansion or available to be brought to the mansion during her stay, the only belongings Skylar brought with her were a small bag containing the three pictures she’d mentioned during her interview for the show and her cellphone. If the producers hadn’t told her that all the assignments and information for the show were going to be on her phone, she wouldn’t even have brought it. That damn thing was just a constant reminder of the ex-boyfriend she was desperately trying to forget, but she didn’t want to be cut off from the assignments for the show, so she would just have to focus on the show and the reason she was here. These next twelve weeks were a chance to finally get Mateo out of her head and out of her life so she could move on. Who knew, maybe she’d even be lucky enough to find somebody else to love here.

She left for the island early, taking a direct flight from Hawaii to the mainland nearest to the island, and then taking a boat provided by the show out to the island. She wasn’t surprised when the boat dropped her off at the beach—she’d remembered reading her first assignment from the show on her phone that morning. She and the group of people who were dropped off at the beach with her were supposed to race the two other groups to the mansion from their drop off locations. The first team to arrive would earn 500 credits, the second team to arrive would earn 250, and the last team wouldn’t get anything. Considering the amount of money Skylar already had access to, she couldn’t care less about earning any extra credits. On top of that, she wasn’t here for money—she was here to move on from an ex and start a new life, either single or with someone new.

When the boat neared the shore, she slipped off her cute brown strappy sandals, grabbed her bag, and hopped out into the shallow water, a huge grin lighting up her face as the warm, beautifully clear H2O lapped at her calves. If there was one thing Skylar loved, it was water. She loved to swim, scuba dive, surf, waterboard—anything and everything she could do in the water, she loved. She’d even had the pleasure of swimming with dolphins several times. Recently, she’d actually had the chance to shadow a dolphin trainer, and she’d found she really loved it. They were beautiful animals, and Skylar could definitely see herself making a career out of them and the ocean they lived in. Marine biology was looking like a promising option for a career.

Finally reaching the beach, she offered a smile to the two guys who’d already arrived there. One was tall, with fair skin, the sort of messy hairstyle she loved, chocolate brown hair, and pretty blue eyes that reminded her of her own. The other was about the same height as the first guy, with rich, mocha skin, light brown hair tied back in dreadlocks, and brown eyes filled with annoyance. The fair-skinned one looked a bit nervous as he stood on the sand, and the dark-skinned one seemed as if he wanted to be anywhere else. She wondered how he’d ended up on the show if he’d had no desire to be on it, but it wasn’t her business to ask, so she simply introduced herself and then dug her toes into the warm sand to wait for the other participants to arrive. She believed her group had five members, so they had two more to wait for.

As she waited, she pulled out her phone and brought up the map they’d been given to use as a reference point when navigating to the mansion and around the island. Her little red dot was positioned right over the beach area, but the rest of the map so far was blank, giving no indication of which direction the mansion was in. Turning around to face the inland part of the island, she looked down at the size of the island on the map, and the back at the landscape in front of her. She didn’t think they should directly inland from the beach, as the mountains in that direction meant it wouldn’t make sense for the mansion to be there, so her best guess was that they should take the trail that ran alongside the shoreline. She was assuming it would lead them to the mansion, or at least to somewhere that would help them get there.

Just as she came to her conclusion, she heard another boat arrived on the shore and turned around to offer the new arrival a bright smile. She was a bit stunned by the redhead she found standing there. She was quite beautiful, with the wild red hair framing her smiling face. Offering the redhead an equally bright smile, Skylar opened her mouth to introduce herself, but quickly paused when another boat approached the shore. Taking a few steps towards the water’s edge, she focused on the last member of their little group, and quickly tried to hide her appreciative expression. The man who arrived had gorgeous olive-toned skin and light blue eyes she swore she could get lost in. As he walked up onto the beach, kissing first the redhead’s and then her own hand with a charming smile on his handsome face, Skylar found herself wishing she’d brought her portable fan with her.

Offering the man her trademark bright smile and hoping her pale cheeks weren’t bright pink with her blush, she glanced at the redhead as the woman commented on Dante’s charm. Watching the woman take off and dive into the water, Skylar chuckled and then looked back at Dante. The more she looked at him, the more familiar he became to her, and she ran his name through her head, trying to think of where she could know him from, and then it suddenly hit her.

“Wait! Wow, hi! You were on Supernatural, right? You played a hunter Sam and Dean worked with a few times…Scott Daniels, right? I really liked your character!” she babbled excitedly. Supernatural was one of her all-time favorite TV shows, so to be meeting one of the actors from the show, even one with a supporting role, was totally awesome. She would kill to meet Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, or Misha Collins, and Dante had gotten to work with them. She had so many questions! However, she didn’t want to be a crazy superfan and freak him out before they’d even gotten to the island, so she forced herself to contain her excitement.

“I’m Skylar Cavallo. It’s so nice to meet you!”

"Remember to remind them of your contractual rights whenever something is questionable. Do NOT let them embarrass you!"

"It's okay, Mother. I'll just be careful about what I say."

"Remember, Josephine: it may be a luxury island, but it is STILL an island. There may be dangerous animals. Watch where you step and be aware of the first-aid resources!"

"Father, I'm sure the producers have already accounted for the fauna and any possibility of injury. I will be fine. I promise."

Josephine's parents insisted on accompanying her on the drive to the coast. It was projected to be a very long ride, and Josephine thought she wouldn't mind the company. But now, as she sat between her parents rapid-firing their anxieties into her, she was beginning to regret it. Josephine's mother was especially nervous. After all, she was the one who had signed Josephine up. Although Monica (her mother) had provided Josephine with tough love after the Wilbur fallout, telling her that she needed to be more cautious and that the situation was reflective of how naive she was, Josephine had always sensed an underlying pity in her mother's heart. Monica could be harsh, but no one wanted their daughter to be tricked and heartbroken. Josephine had been sullen for months after the reveal that her budding romance was just a joke and hadn't made an attempt to reenter the dating world since.

So, as one can imagine, Josephine was surprised (and not exactly pleasantly) to know that her mom was registering her for a reality show. She didn't decline, however, because she knew that this was her mother's way of trying to help and show that she cares. Josephine figured that Monica couldn't bear seeing her give up on romance so young and, suffering from the same condition involving impulses as Josephine, signed her up for this show. Her socially awkward, very private daughter. Josephine shuffled in the passenger seat and sighed just thinking about how ironic this whole thing was. She was really only here because she didn't want to decline help or shut herself away any longer. It would all be pointless if it blew up in her face, though.

Eventually, they made it to the coast and Josephine said her goodbyes speedily before embarking. Josephine wore a simple summer dress with white tennis shoes. Although the producers told her that everything she needed would be taken care of, Josephine had a bookbag stuffed with some essentials: a few of her own clothes (incase what was provided didn't suit her), her journal, and several books to keep her occupied whenever there was downtime. However, as the ship set off and the island became bigger on the horizon, Josephine realized that there probably wouldn't be much time for reading. Josephine was reminded with a rush of anxiety that she was going to be on a reality show, meaning that people were going to be watching her for entertainment. All of those people, all of those eyes, all of that scrutinization and judgment. She thought to herself, No, there will be no time for reading. No one is going to want to watch me read.

The ship docked, and Josephine gingerly set foot onto the island, inviting the fresh beach wind with only a little hesitance. Before she knew it, she was on a jeep that was taking her... seemingly to the middle of nowhere. Then it hit her: their first task was to navigate their way to the mansion. Josephine pulled out her phone and started examining the map they were provided with. She blinked at it a few times and tilted her head. Josephine wasn't a great navigator, but with enough focus, she thought she could potentially figure it out. Josephine absent-mindedly went to text Mother to let her know that she had arrived safely only to find her mother's contact gone. It hit her once again: Oh, wait! I forgot. I'm not allowed to contact anyone... Well, except the other contestants, but of course I would be able to talk to them. Josephine set her phone down, no longer concerned with the map, and did something between resisting the urge to fidget and fidgeting. Soon, the jeep arrived to the meeting place, where a few other jeeps were also pulling up.

"Thank y--." Before Josephine could finish expressing her gratitude, the driver sped off, the tires kicking up dirt that flew into her bare legs. After dusting herself off, Josephine carefully looked around at the other contestants. Her eyes widened slightly. Oh my god. They're so pretty! In front of her were two women. One was had long brown hair with beautiful eyes that Josephine couldn't quite determine the color of. The other had an edgier air to her, with shorter hair and tattoos that Josephine observed admiringly. There was also a guy who was plenty beautiful in his own right. Insecurities flared to life in her mind. Josephine put her hands to the sides, resisting the urge to touch her face in some anxious attempt to rearrange her self-perceived imperfections. They're all just... so pretty.

Eventually, the two women began taking the lead with getting to the mansion. Josephine breathed a sigh of relief for the fact that she didn't have to worry about the navigation. Although she would've tried, the young poetess was almost sure she'd have messed it up. Josephine fell in step slightly behind the two women, occasionally observing them in an attempt to glean any additional information. Josephine could tell from the longer-haired woman's shoes that she'd likely not expected this hike, and Josephine silently expressed sympathy for her. Josephine realized suddenly that she had been completely silent up to that point, and became anxious. Am I letting this opportunity to establish myself get away? What would a normal person do right now?

Without thinking, she blurted in a deliberately chirpy tone, "I'm Josephine, by the way!" She immediately regretted it, realizing that she had intercepted the longer-haired woman's opportunity to answer a question, and prepared for the eyes of the three to turn on her quickly.

"Um. Thanks." Ambrose stumbled out of the jeep a little awkwardly, sending a small wave to the woman who'd been interviewing him. It had been a little more than uncomfortable, but hey, it was her job. And even if his sister had been the one to convince him, it was ultimately his fault that he ended up here in the first place. Still, that didn't mean he wasn't going to be really pissy about the whole thing. Releasing a breath, Ambrose looked around him as the car drove off behind him. He really had no idea where he was, but he figured it didn't really matter, since their first task was to find the mansion itself.

Pulling his phone and earphones out of his pocket, Ambrose put an earbud in one ear and played some music softly. He opened up the map on his phone and started forward, spotting the other contestants in his group. There were three women, which honestly, was probably for the best, since men were dogs in Ambrose's opinion. He thought about just putting his phone back in his pocket, because he doubted he was going to use it and would rather just follow the others, but he didn't want to look useless, so he kept it out.

One of the women was already yelling instructions and telling them to get moving, and Ambrose was already regretting every decision he'd ever made that led him to this point in his life. Turning his music up a little, he followed after the three women, two of them avid leaders while one stayed slightly behind. Ambrose trailed behind all of them, not sure if the long-haired woman's offer to 'walk and talk' really appealed to him.

He could only vaguely hear the pack leaders' hushed conversation, and he figured it would be a pretty silent journey, until the woman just in front of him suddenly spoke. Ambrose blinked at her- at Josephine - and considered just saying nothing, but he figured he should at least try to get along with the people here. There was no use in making an enemy out of everyone. "Ambrose," he said, gesturing to himself.

Demetrius was not happy. He hadn't been for a while. Unlike the others here, he had not signed up for this. He didn't even know this show existed. Not that D watched much television. He didn't have time these days. He was busy fixing the world. Or at least doing his best to try. Ever since Lucia, his sister, had died, he had dedicated himself to his work. There hadn't been time for television. Hadn't been time for anything, really. He supposed he was due some time off, having finished his latest project, but being hooded and stuffed in a van was not his idea of a relaxing vacation, no matter how lovely the scenery was. It was lovely, though. This island, and the people he could see were so very beautiful. It would have made him feel plain, if he thought about things like that. He saw a gorgeous redhead checking out his dreads, and he gave her a small smile. They were one of the few things he spent time on, fashion wise. He might even show her how, if... No. He had to remember he wasn't here because of this. He had been taken, and no amount of eye candy would change his purpose. He must escape.

Demetrius hadn't been able to change out of his lab outfit, black slacks and a light blue polo shirt. Both had some stains from various chemicals. Not exactly great first impression clothes. His work boots weren't exactly designed for beaches, either. He watched as the handsome Italian climbed out into the water, wading to shore. Following his lead, the redhead jumped in after him. Demetrius would like to say he didn't sneak looks at her clinging wet clothes but... he was only human. Demetrius waited until the boat bumped the shore, before climbing out. The sand clung to his boots, making every step harder. He came up on the group just as people were making their introductions. What the heck is Supernatural? And what did it have to do with hunting? D shrugged, and tried to give the group his media smile. He was only partially successful.
"I'm Demetrius Watkins," he said as the men in the boat hurled his bag at him, the duffel striking him in the back and driving him forward a few steps. He had checked it on the way in. He wasn't sure how, but someone had broken into his house and packed some clothes, his hair care supplies, and a toothbrush. No tech for him to use, though. They had only given him a phone on a point to point network. Useless, unless he found someone on this island who was worth talking to. Not very likely.

Wilbur rode with his head and shoulders above the open roof of the jeep. He smelled the fresh air, and it invigorated him. Truth be told, he was a little hungover. He'd only just made it home before the driver the producers had sent to pick him up arrived. Sleeping in his own bed was not something Wilbur was used to doing. While others called it the walk of shame, Wilbur just thought of it as his victory march. One more notch on his bedpost. These producers expected him to fall for someone here? Please. He was just in it for the hookups. He'd been close, once. His smile faded as he thought of Jo. If ever there was something he'd fucked up beyond repair, it was that. She had been so vulnerable, normally a good thing for him. It made it easier. Taking the bet from Alicia had been the easy part. She'd made him work for it, but in the end, he got there. It was just too bad he'd gotten to know her along the way. She'd been sweet, and funny and so damn smart. And he'd just been a coward. He shook his head. Thinking about it didn't change anything. This was paradise, and Wilbur had every intention of getting anything he could out of it.

Wilbur stepped out of the car, and saw a very nice looking man whittling. Whoever this person was, they had an incredible ass. Mmm, I wish I was that stump, Wilbur thought as he walked up. He made sure to make plenty of noise, not wanting to startle the man as he engaged in some knife play.
"Handsome and skilled with a knife. Well aren't I the lucky one?" Wilbur flashed Hendrix a flirtatious smile. "I'm Wilbur Hagen," he said, holding his hand out to the seated man. Using the excuse of making it easier on the other man, Wilbur leaned down, taking the opportunity to check out the man's body. An ass like that, and he hits the gym. My lucky day.
"I like your beard. Do you ever let people play with it?" Wilbur raised his eyebrows suggestively, the flirty smile never leaving his face.

Mateo Echevarría
Hot and Cold

To say that Mateo was excited for this show, was pretty much an understatement. Going to a tropical island, to fuck around and get paid easy money for it? Who the hell would say no to that? Sure, he was aware of the fact things were meant to be more… substantial than that, but that was just not something he did. Once the fun was over, it was time to pull the plug. So far only few had managed to catch his interest more than once… One of them having become quite a favourite. Skylar… She had been so… well, easy. There was no other way to put it. A nice compliment there, a little prod there, a twist of words and he had her falling, again and again and again. Though he himself never lost his ground, she was just his toy for when he was bored. Nothing more than a back-up, a rebound. Until she made things complicated and asked for more than he was willing to give, like eight months ago. Something about wanting to get a permanent drawer at his place? Or was that the renting something together? Or had it been those fancy lace panties from… Well obviously someone else than her. He didn’t know anymore, what it had been this time that broke them up. Truth to be told, he didn’t care either.

An easy smile lay upon his face when the young male got out of the jeep. Not even giving a nod of thanks to the male that had driven him all the way here to what seemed a beautiful lake. Though it was not the natures beauty that caught his interest. Or well… A different work of nature. Two very different works, honestly. His enchanting blue eyes taking in the two males that were a bit ahead of him. One rough, working with a knife, while seemingly oblivious to the flirtatious assault of the smoother one. A slow smirk played over his features. Oh, he was gonna have fun alright… Yet unlike the silver tongued male, Mateo decided on a different approach. It was no use to overwhelm the rough diamond, a slow burn might work better and play into his favour.

He gladly took in the sight from a distance. With a build like that, whatever he packed inside that black demin could no way be disappointing. Anyhow, enough of admiring the muscular male. Time to take in the competition, which wasn’t an unpleasant sight either. At least, it didn’t seem like he would have to worry about attachments and misunderstandings. And honestly, the physique was nothing wrong with either. Yes, he was gonna have quite some fun here during his stay. ”Such an amazing view, isn’t it?” His words innocent in tone, but Mateo was not at all taking about the breath taking clear lake next to them, or the colourful flowers and plants surrounding it. His eyes holding a pleasant sparkle with an friendly charming smile as he got himself into motion, closer to the duo. And as he did, becoming more and more aware of the height difference. The male that had introduced himself as Wilbur already had a head on him, and it was obvious even sitting down that the Jason Momoa look a like was not gonna be any less impressive. Good thing that, Mateo was rather versatile in the bedroom. And seriously with men like these... He wouldn’t even mind being shared between them…

”Mateo Echevarría is the name, and the pleasure is all mine. I’ll make sure of that,” the young male spoke with a wink. Again balancing pleasantries with flirtation. Subtle, but lasting. Like getting caught in a stream, rather than being pushed down a waterfall. The sound of an engine betraying the arrival of yet another participant of the show. And he could feel excitement rushing through him with the promise of another hot piece of ass joining them. Sure, he had assumed, well more known, every participant would be good looking. It was a reality show after all, an no one wanted to watch a bunch of uglies running around an island. Though he had to admit, for what he had seen, this truly was top shelf hot stuff quality. He, himself, was quite a catch as well, after all. Not just with looks, he was smart, rich… Not that it matter, for he never stayed. He was only there for the fun.

Forced Ending
Both ladies seemed to be a bit stunned by his way of introduction. Perhaps he should have gone with something more simple, but... Well, it was too late to change his actions now. He chuckled when the redhaired lady complimented his idea, though he wasn't that sure what she was refering to as he simply gave a shrug. "I guess beauty and brains go together hand and hand," he chuckled. Not really making it clear if he was on an ego trip and refered to himself, or the lady that took his example and by now had made her way into the water. His face holding that amused expression as those clothes slowly got soaked, just like her hair, but she seemed to be floating just happily and carefree. He had not caught her name, or had she even told him?

His train of thoughts trying to recollect if he had heard her name, were broken by the other female speaking up. One that had been stealing glances from him, something he was rather used to. People figuring out what it was they exactly knew him from. Supernatural, it was. For her at least. And she even managed to mention the role he had played. "That is correct," he said as he turned his attention to her. He could see that excited sparkle in her eyes, though she was keeping it down with the questions. Which earned her some exra credit points by his book. Normally people would just jump him with all kind of questions, not even caring if things were too personal or inappropiate. That kind of stuff didn't exist anymore once you got a taste of fame, it seemed. "It was amazing to play his part and work along with such great people." The words were genuine, not just added because this was recorded and viewed probably worldwide.

"It is very nice meeting you too, Skylar," Dante said with a smile. What a coincidence on that name. Or was it done on purpose? Though his relationship with Skylar had ended quite a while ago and they never had been really public about it. Some paparazzi was always there, and there had been rumors. But he had never made that step to officially show her off as his girlfriend, which was one of the things that had driven them apart. Along with just... shitty timing and... No. He was here to leave that behind. So, he was not gonna think about it.

"Demitus?" The Italian repeated the name, but he could hear something was wrong about it. "That sounds like a name with a story..." Even if he had gotten it wrong. Better than the name Lorenzo that was given from father to son. One thing was for sure, if he even was given a son, he was surely gonna break that tradition.

Isolde de Vries
One and One makes Three

Socialize, Isolde, show your manners. Not everything in life is a contest or a race. The female could hear her mothers voice echo through her head. And she was right, except for the fact that this was a race. And there were two other groups on the way to that mansion and they would win credits for arriving first. Which they would! One of the other contestant, a tattooed up female, had taken her place next to her. And then asked that dreadful unintelligent question, are we getting closer?, like a child nagging with its 'are we there yet?'. Manners, Isolde! Her mothers voice was quickly to remind her.

So the female mustered up a gentle, friendly smile that she had mastered into perfection ever since she had been five years old. Or was it at four that her mother had pushed her into that beauty pageant for the first time? "I certainly hope so," she reacted, though with a friendly tone there was a certain snide in the answer. However it fell right in time with someone introducing themselves from behind them. Talking about manners... She turned her head slightly to look at the darker female she had admired before, that skin was so smooth and it looked so healthy! Her mental judgement however was all hidden behind that everlasting smile that had hid so much of what she truly felt on the inside. "What a lovely name," she said. This time her words were truthful though.

The male that tagged along with them introduced himself shortly. Just his first name, nothing more. His expression was telling more than enough that he didn't want to be here, but why accept something like this then? She was sure he had his reasons and eventually they would find it out. "I am Isolde de-" Her introduction broken off as her heel slipped of a twig, or stone, or whatever other thing this natural terrain had to offer. It had caused her to wobble, one hand moving upwards for better balance. There was a rather sharp shooting pain going through her ankle as the lack of support had caused her to roll it over. But taking off her shoes? No, absolutely not an option and not gonna happen. Not even if it meant breaking her ankle for real.

"I am Isolde de Vries," the young female reintroduced herself. She started walking again as the incident had caused her to come to a temporarily halt. She made sure to keep the same pace up though, but her eyes seemed to dash down to the ground a bit more often now. "I am from Atherton, California," she kept the conversation going after giving the tattoo girl a chance to introduce herself. "What about you?" She didn't really direct the question to anyone specific, though unlike before she only gave a quick glance over her shoulders. She did not wish to stumble and hurt herself again.

Dani Kim

Dani continued walking alongside Isolde waiting for the answer. Maybe it was a bit childish to ask that, but it felt necessary. And if she had the chance to know if she was close by then why should she squander it? She picked up her walking pace, after checking her very own map. Not extraordinarily helpful, but good enough. If she could have screamed “MOVE IT OR LOSE IT” at every single member of her group without losing their respect then she would have. She needed to get there first. She wasn’t ashamed to admit she was there for the money. Really was anyone actually there to find true love? Some were there for the money. Some wanted to get laid. Some wanted the adventure. But she had never met anyone dumb enough to believe their soulmate was waiting on live tv.

She offered a polite smile back at the girl. Thankfully she didn’t seem too bothered by the question. "Good." she said simply, though she senses the snark. No use in pushing further and driving her closer to anger.

She turned around to notice the other girl calling for them. Honestly her beauty was just plain ridiculous. In fact she had to wonder why any of them were single. Their personality perhaps? Though she’s be careful not to share that theory with the rest of the group. "Nice to meet you Josephine!" she grinned, starting to walk backwards. Safe? Probably not, but it was fun.

She offered another grin to the guy. “Hey Ambrose!” She greeted him. He didn’t wanna be here. That much was obvious. But why? He had a pretty good deal. He was in a group with 3 girl that were at worst reasonably pretty. So why should he be so unhappy?

Her thoughts were interrupted by the girl slipping. “Are you ok?” She asked, immediately concerned over her well-being. She could understand how it felt being injured in nature. The summer before High School, she went camping with a few friends, and twisted her ankle. It hurt like hell, and she had to be carried around for a bit. “Do you wanna switch shoes?” She asked Isolde, taking note of her shoe size. “We can switch back when we get there.” She offered, having a feeling that she would want to protect her image.

Without getting a response, she continued walking as well. She had to admit she admired Isolde. She was no stranger to dressing up, but she’d never ever have the guts to walk a rocky terrain in heels.

She nodded as Isolde volunteered extra information about herself. “I’m Dani Kim, and I’m from Ore- I mean New York.” She quickly corrected herself. Even after 5 years, she still forgot that she didn’t live in Portland anymore.

Dixon McConnall
The Cheater
Dixon closed his eyes as he took in a full breath of fresh air from the window of the Jeep. It was a beautiful day on a beautiful island amid a beautiful ocean and Dixon was in paradise. He’d seen a lot of islands and even more landscapes in his day, but he was still blown away by nature sometimes. It was an endless masterpiece across the entire planet, and he would know considering he’d been almost everywhere in the world by now. He’d trekked across the Himalayas, slept in the trees in the Amazon, ziplined through a Redwood forest, and so much more. Yet still, after all he’d seen, this little island still took his breath away with its little slice of heaven. Nature never failed to impress, and that was why Dixon had chosen his career path. There was never a dull moment.

As the Jeep came to a stop on the path just a ways away from the Lake, Dixon exhaled his breath of air and reached for the door. He had to appreciate the luxury of the Jeep too. It was practically Dixon’s dream car, built with all the necessities for extreme offroad, but still containing the modern amenities other cars offered.
Pulling on the handle, Dixon grabbed his bag from the backseat and hopped out of the Jeep. Shutting the door behind him, he offered his driver a grateful smiled and thanked him for driving him up here before watching him drive off back down the path. He took a quick look around at the vegetation, identifying a few exotic trees and plants in his head before he slipped his arms through the straps of his bag. It didn’t have much in it, just some of his personal hiking gear. He planned on doing plenty of hiking around the island during his time here. He planned on it being his way to secure alone time if he ever needed it in the next three months.

Bag secured on his back, Dixon turned around to face the Lake, finally noticing the tree guys standing beside it. Dixon took a moment to look over them. Though
Dixon had only ever officially dated girls, he had hooked up with a few guys in his day, and he knew he’d be more than happy to settle with another guy if he were to find one he really connected to. So far, that hadn’t happened, but that wasn’t to say it never would. He didn’t have any kind of a type when it came to guys or girls either, so the people he’d been with had all been different. Not having a type or a preference for looks or gender made finding people he liked a lot easier. Keeping them was a different story but finding them was easy.

Dixon’s attention settled on the one in the middle first. He was seated on a tree stump, whittling a small piece of wood with a knife while the two other guys stood on either side of him. He was clearly well-built—Dixon could see that much even from where he was standing. He didn’t doubt that if the guy stood up, he’d be pretty tall too. Maybe not quite Dixon’s height, but still tall. Besides that, he was rocking long hair and a beard, which Dixon liked. Not many guys could pull off the long hair look, but those who could rocked it. It was the same thing with long facial hair—that was why Dixon kept his neatly trimmed and short. Overall, there was no denying he was a very good-looking man.

The other two weren’t any less disappointing. One of them was tall, maybe a couple of inches shorter than Dixon’s own 6’4”, rocking dark brown hair and putting out an admittedly sexy aura of confidence. There was no slouching or insecurity in his posture or the flirty smile he was giving to the man on the stump, and Dixon was not ashamed to admit confidence was sexy to him. Hell, that was half the reason Isolde had first caught his attention. She was so damn confident, and confidence was Dixon’s weak spot. He never could resist confidence which was actually funny considering how often he lacked in his own. The third guy was no less impressive than the first two, standing on the other side of the stump with a sly, inviting grin pulling up the corners of his lips. This guy was emitting confident vibes too, but there was something much more subtle and controlled about the way he carried himself in comparison to the taller one. His sandy blonde hair, and toned body made him gorgeous, and something told Dixon this guy knew it and owned it.

Plastering a bright, dimpled smile on his face, Dixon walked the few feet over to them, slipping his phone out of his pocket as he went. He knew from going over the information he’d received from the show that they would be working together to try to navigate to the mansion while racing the other teams. He’d been over the map of the island and come up with a pretty good idea of which direction they should go. He hoped to at least get there second and rack up some credits. It wasn’t as if he truly needed the money with the income he got from his business, but it would help with paying for extra advertising to help it take off. Regardless, he wasn’t super worried about it. If these guys preferred to just use the time to hang out and get to know each other, he wouldn’t be necessarily opposed to that either, so long as they did make it to the mansion eventually.

Reaching the little group, Dixon met each of their eyes, oblivious to the flirting that at just occurred.
“Anyone started thinking about which way to go yet?” Dixon asked. He already had an idea, but this was supposed to be a team effort, so he wanted their input before he said anything. He figured he should probably introduce himself, but he also knew there would be plenty of time for introductions later. They’d all be here for three months, after all.

As she floated around aimlessly for a few precious moments, Ramona could not help but overhear the others as they introduced themselves. Dante, the gentleman who had kissed her hand, was apparently a well-known actor. Some sort of show called… Supernatural? Ray had definitely heard the name in passing but was never one to watch television herself.

"Well, that's pretty neat.” She thought to herself before standing up and squeezing the salt water out of her hair.

“I guess it would be a smart move on the producer's part. A popular celebrity guest was sure to reel in views."

Her gaze moved to the brunette Dante was talking to.

"And that gorgeous goddess right there is named Skylar." Ray smiled a bit, finding the interaction between the two to be rather adorable. Their chemistry seemed instantaneous with just how animated they became when chatting with each other.

"Last but not least is... Demetrius?" Ramona felt her smile melt away as soon as she noted his sour expression.

"Poor guy... He looks as if someone spit in his Kool-Aid."

With a newfound determination, she trudged her way forward in an attempt to make it to dry land. Unfortunately, her damp hair and sopping wet clothing made the ordeal a tad bit difficult. Nevertheless, her impulsive behavior has put her in worse situations. She could and would overcome a mundane chore such as this.

She continued her way through the small choppy waves that moved around her ankles. When finally reaching the shore, she waved her hand to everyone in an extra effort to be friendly.

"Hi! My name is Ramona! And... I want to live with Grizzly Bears someday." The redhead shrugged with a grin to no one in particular.

"You!" She spoke suddenly, pointing an accusing finger at Demetrius.

"Smile. Be happy. We are on vacation."

Hendrix had just finished whittling a Grizzly when he heard sounds of a distant motor growing closer. The object he created was adorable, its style mimicking that of a totem pole. He was sure Ramona would love it. After cutting off the excess wood he slipped both the switchblade and the bear into the front pocket of his jeans.
He looked up to see a man about his age with sleek brown hair and an all too inviting smile strut toward him. If Hendrix hadn’t known any better, he’d have thought that the stranger was flirting with him. His initial comment had come across as a tad strong.

“Nah that can’t be right. I don’t even know the guy.” Hen thought to himself.

“I’m Wilbur Hagen.” The newcomer spoke before leaning forward.

“I like your beard. Do you ever let people play with it?”

“…oh.”
Hendrix’s lips thinned in a tight line. His suspicions confirmed after all.

Before he could even think of how to respond, another voice had chimed into the conversation.

“Such an amazing view, isn’t it?”

Hendrix leaned over to look behind Wilbur seeing yet another attractive young man. This one, however, had tan skin and what seemed to be Apollo’s golden locks. One could not help but notice the sun's rays highlighting his blonde streaks.

“Mateo Echevarria is the name, and the pleasure is all mine. I’ll make sure of that.” He said with a wink.

“Definitely a couple of flirts. But this IS a romantic game show...”

Hendrix stood up and crossed his arms. He noted the gaze Mateo had sent his way. It was the same look he gave to Wilbur. While Goldilocks smile was as charming as a fairy tale… His eyes were as hungry as the Wolf in Red Riding Hood.
Another car door slammed shut causing Hendrix to look up once more. The final contestant in their group had finally arrived. Only one word came to mind when first laying eyes on him. Tall. REALLY tall. Obscenely tall.

“Anyone start thinking about which way to go yet?”

“Finally. Time to get this show on the road.”
Hennie grunted.
With a sigh, Hendrix stepped away from the others and started walking towards the tree line headed east.

“Due to the sun’s positioning, we need to head this way. Slightly southeast, but east for sure according to the map.”
He continued to walk without even checking to make sure he was being followed by the others.

“Name’s Hendrix. Let us get to the mansion quickly. I’m hungry as hell.”

The group walked in silence for a moment. Winding their way around trees and over branches. When he felt unsure of which direction they were heading, Hendrix pulled out his phone where he had previously downloaded an app serving as a compass. It didn't take very long for the group to finally reach the edge of the woods.
The burly tattooed man's eyes widened in surprise. Sure, he was told there would be a mansion... But he never expected the place to be this... breathtaking.

He could and would definitely live in a place like this. The style had a rustic yet modern feel to it. A perfect balance between the beauty of nature and the comforts of today.

"Maybe this won't be so bad after all." He grinned before taking a few steps towards the massive building.

JOSEPHINE LOWERY - The Victim
To her surprise, the three other members of her group didn't seem to mind her impulsive introduction too much and went ahead with introducing themselves as well. She sighed with relief and smiled slightly as they went around with their names.

The first boy simply gave his name. Ambrose. He seems friendly enough. His hair is cool, too. Next, the long-haired woman, who was giving Josephine slightly intense vibes, introduced herself as Isolde de Vries. Josephine's eyes widened slightly. That's such a beautiful name. Josephine also noted that the woman was from California, connecting it with her stylish outfit and overall demeanor. I can see California. She meant it in a way that was complimentary, of course. She noticed Isolde's slight stumble but decided not to give it too much attention. If it had been Josephine that stumbled, she would feel better if people pretended not to notice. The shorter-haired woman with tattoos took a different approach, though, offering to switch shoes, and then introduced herself. Dani from New York... who seemed ready to say she was from Oregon. Interesting. Also ready to switch shoes with someone on a walk like this. Definitely a generous thing to do.

Josephine took the opportunity to add on to her initial introduction: "I'm from Chicago. Currently going to grad school there." Anticipating the next question that could follow, she added quietly, "I'm pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing." She immediately regretted it, however, because she hated the way it sounded when she said it out loud. She cringed to herself slightly, her fingers curling up at her sides, but then did her best to not betray her embarrassment and kept walking. Wanting to shift focus off of herself, she left her words at that, leaving it open for the others to start talking about what their current occupations are.

Josephine took a minute to curse her pathological awkwardness. It made her think of Wilbur. During the period of their (joke of a) relationship, Josephine admired him for so many things, particularly the things least characteristic of her. Wilbur was confident. Charismatic. Outgoing. He wasn't the type of guy that Josephine had ever expected to like it, but there seemed to be so many bright things about him that could complement Josephine. His confidence stood in contrast to her insecurities. His charisma in contrast to her awkwardness. And his outgoingness in contrast to the mess she called social skills. But she was okay with that. Opposites attract, after all, or at least that's what people say. Josephine grimaced to herself. But I should know better than to listen to what people say, especially when it comes to Wilbur.

Josephine shifted her focus to her back to the journey. She wasn't the most athletic but did her best to keep pace with her groupmates. Dani and Isolde in particular appeared to be taking the first task very seriously, which was understandable. There was money on the line after all. !!! Josephine started a bit. She had almost forgotten. There IS money on the line. The thought didn't strike her so deeply because she particularly cared about the money but more because she was shocked at the fact that she had let it slip her mind. Josephine's finances weren't in the best place, and she definitely could have used the money. However, it just wasn't in her nature to care so much, even when she knew she should. It was part of the starry-eyed naivety her mother always scolded her for; she tended to get so much more caught up in the emotional and Romantic side of things rather than the practical side. To show respect for her teammates' wishes, however, she kept walking at a brisk pace.

fight or flight

Oh, God, he'd already given his name, and now he had to tell these people where he was from, too? Ambrose regretted saying anything at all. In fact, he wished he'd been unnecessarily rude, so that none of the women with him wanted to speak to or acknowledge him in anyway. But Ambrose wasn't that kind of asshole. Yes, he was grump, and unfriendly, and sarcastic... but he wasn't outright mean, not for no reason. And these were the people that he was going to be stuck with for the foreseeable future; some of them, anyway.

He slapped a hand over his mouth as the woman who led them - Isolde - suddenly slipped, wondering if he was actually going to witness a death or serious injury. Served her right, walking in those ridiculous heels. Ambrose liked a heel every now and then, when he was alone and knew he wouldn't be judged, but Jesus, this was not the correct terrain. Luckily, Isolde recovered and told them the rest of her name, but Ambrose forgot it as soon as he heard it. Last names weren't important, he didn't think.

The other woman who was competing with Isolde for her lead, Dani, introduced herself and stated that she was from New York, and then Josephine was discussing her background as well. Wrapping his arms around his stomach self-consciously, as if he could make himself smaller, Ambrose hesitated when attention turned to him. "I'm from the middle of nowhere," was all he offered. He looked around after he spoke, hoping that he indicated successfully that his contribution to the conversation was over.

After a couple more minutes of walking, he turned his head to the left and just.... spotted it. Just saw the mansion. "Isn't that it?" He asked, not even bothering to look at the group, and then not bothering to wait for someone to respond because he knew it was it. He made his way over, not really caring if he was the first to arrive or not. He had no doubt Isolde would try to sprint in front of him in those insane heel and take the lead again.

Demetrius actually gave a small smile at the big Italian's mispronunciation of his name. It was honestly funny. Where D came from, Demetrius was a pretty common name, but he guessed it wasn't quite so popular in Italy, though if he recalled correctly, it was an Italian name. D shrugged, and gave the best smile he could manage to the man. He hadn't meant anything by it. No reason to be annoyed by names.
"Actually, it's Demetrius. Got named for my uncle. You can just call me D, though." Demetrius blinked with surprise. He wasn't normally this social. He guessed it must be the people here. They were very nice. He figured most of them were extroverts. He knew they'd be disappointed or annoyed soon enough. He had a bad habit of pushing people away, he knew. Turning back to Dante, he spoke again.
"Parli italiano?" He felt like he was warming up to this group, which felt... odd for him, when the redhead came crashing up the beach. He inadvertently moved to help her, but it seemed she had it under control, so Demetrius stopped short. He stood there awkwardly as she introduced herself, flushing a shade darker as she turned her attention to him. Her words, however, took away any pleasantness D had felt towards this group. His blood felt like ice in his veins as he fought unsuccessfully to curb his temper.
"Well, Ramona," he said, biting off her name as if it had made his mouth taste foul. "You might have signed up for this. You might be excited. But I didn't. This isn't a vacation for me. I got taken, without my say so, on the way to an important press conference. And now people are going to die because I'm stuck here, listening to people tell me to smile." D took a moment to get more of a feel for the area, before plunging off away from the beach angrily.

Wilbur followed slightly behind, resisting the urge to give a wolfish smile as he watched the man's glutes flex nicely in his jeans. Wilbur had been in the woods plenty of times to deal with farm animals who had broken free, or the occasionally bears, so he thought about offering his help, but the rugged man seemed to know what he was doing. Fine by Wilbur. He was enjoying all the island's views. Especially the ones that introduced themselves as Hendrix. The one called Mateo was cute, but he had the look of another player in the world's most interesting game. Most guys would see it as competition, but Wilbur just wondered if he'd be interested in getting the three, no four of them now, engaged in some fun. He eyed the taller man. There were a few boys back home taller than Wilbur, but not many. He liked the man's rugged good looks, and noted the appreciative way Dixon had taken the three of them in, and filed it away for later. This Hendrix might take some work, and Mateo might be too easy, but this newcomer might be as Goldilocks' had said: Just right. Wilbur dropped a step back to walk with the newcomer, and gave him a slow smile.
"I'm Wilbur. Don't think I ever got your name. Or would you prefer I just called you handsome?" Wilbur let out a chuckle as he looked this new man up and down. He felt like he had definitely made the right decision, signing up for this. After all, if you show up for a dating show on a tropical island, you were either in it for the tail or the money, and Wilbur was a man of simple needs. Very simple, in some ways, he thought, glancing at the newcomer's ass. Very nice.

Mateo Echevarría
Hot and Cold

And damn had he been right. His lips curled up into an appreciating smirk when another male joined them. His eyes having to travel upwards quite a bit when the other came closer and closer. Even though he usually was from a decent height, compared to these giants he was rather tiny. Though that was okay, he did not feel intimidated by it. Not in the slightest. It intrigued him. His eyes had finally reached that handsome face of the newcomer, who got down to business right away. Not even offering a name, guess he would have to come up with his own than...

However before his mind could settled on something adequate enough, the rough diamond had taken the offer to get them in motion. And of course, his flirting competition had taken the spot to also shower this guy with his attention and silk words. So be it. It gave him a chance to catch up with the other male, as good as he could. For the terrain was not too easy on him, where the others seemed to adjust just naturally as if they were born in the woods. Well, he did look a bit like a bear. "You seem to know your way around the forest well," he complimented the rough male. His words genuine as he finally caught up next to the other.

Yet despite the good views and handsome company, annoyance about the surroundings slightly started to trickle more and more. Couldn't those jeeps just had taken them straight up to the stupid mansion? What was the use of this 'bonding' adventure through the woods? Especially with these temperatures that caused the fabric of his shirt to slightly stick to his back. There was only one setting he didn't mind sweating, and this wasn't it. No, he hated sweating. He hated effort, if he had to believe Skylar. How did she always used to say it? He was rather lazy, than tired? That sounded about right. After all, he was a man of money and comfort... And he had never understood the appreciation for nature and hiking and all that shit. He rather had smooth roads and a fast car...

"So..." Mateo was about to ask how much longer they were stuck going down these uneven paths, though with better words as it seemed the rough diamond rather enjoyed nature, when they suddenly came to a stop. His eyes traveled from those nicely formed arms and beautiful tattoos towards the building that appeared in front of them. Not bad... Not his style, since he of course would go for a more modern clean cut look than this cabin cozy idea, but still not bad. The souring state of his mood seemed to stop at the idea of being able to take a shower, or... just go for a swim. A place like this had to have a pool! And the few steps further proved him just right as he smirked. "Race you to the pool?" He winked as suddenly the terrain didn't seem to be that problematic all. Though honestly it was smoothing out and quickly his feet found flat ground, while his hands were working on the buttons of his shirt to get it off. He just needed that refreshing dive and it was the perfect excuse to get other people out of their clothes.

Dante
Forced Ending
"Demetrius..." Dante corrected himself while the other gave an explanation of the word. It came from his uncle apparently. A Greek name, if he was correct. Not that it mattered much. It were the words that followed that made his smile brightened. His mother tongue, so fluent and sweet. "Ovviamente, nato e cresciuto a Napoli," he answered, while the redhead made her way up on the beach again.

Her strange comment made him frown in confusion. "Grizzly bears?" He doubted there were any on this island, right? He looked a bit behind, but all he could see was forest and all he heard were birds. A lot of them. So surely there were other animals as well, but bears? Or was there some band or something with that name that he did not know about? After all, despite beind an actor, he did not really know everything and everyone that was famous. He lacked a lot on anything that was not connected to the film industry.

Dante tensed and straightened up a bit, even though the accussation was not ment for him, but for his Italian speaking friend. Yes, friend, even though they had only shared their names and spoken 5 words of Italian between them. He was always easy with socializing, overly trusting at times, so he was aware that the other may not have that same view yet. Though with the accussation the laid back atmosphere seemed to flip around completely. For a moment, he stood there speechless as the other ranted over being kidnapped here. He sure was making a joke right? Weird humor, but... there were no people dying, right? The producers would never let that happen...

"Hey!" The italian male called out when the other suddenly stomped off. He quickly followed him, as they probably should get moving after all. They had to find a mansion or something, and the other participants, since it couldn't be just the four of them. He looked over his shoulder towards the girls for a moment as he gave a bit unsure shrug of his shoulder, before focussing on the male with the dreads. "Quindi dove stiamo andando?" He could get lost on a straight path with a map, and here, it seemed like there was not one landmark to see.

Isolde de Vries
One and One makes Three

Her little stumble had various effects on the other, the dark beaty seemed to simply ignore it like nothing happened, the male was shocked but otherwise gave no attention to it and then there was Dani. Isolde was sure she meant well, but oh, that question was hitting a nerve. This whole situation was hitting a nerve. She didn't have time for this. Nor for the lingering sharp pain that her ankle gave with each step forward now. She smiled through it though as she gave a light shake of her head. "No, thank you, I wouldn't want to curse you to walk in these," she spoke with a friendly tone. These were rather expensive, high brand heels that she just didn't trust anyone with. And thus she kept up the pace, while knowing she should probably rest her ankle and cool it to prevent it from getting swollen and bruising. No time for that though. Once they were at the mansion perhaps.

The female glanced down at her phone as they were getting closer to the destination she had in mind while the female behind her shared she was studying. For a moment that made her hopeful, until the chosen topic was mentioned. Creative writing. She had to force her mouth to stay in that friendly smile, instead of tutting in disapproval. Why would anyone waste their time on something so trival? Rather than to spend the time to discover the logic of the world around them? Though judging on appearance, she knew she might be the only one to prefer logic over creativity. So she stayed silent. In her judgement at least. "I just finished-" she wasn't even able to finish that sentence without being rudely interrupted again.

This time Ambrose was the culprit as he suddenly sped up past them and towards the mansion that had suddenly doomed up before them. "Oh wow." Even Isolde had to admit she was impressed by the grande building in front of them. She even slowed down for a second to admire it, until she caught a movement in her peripheral. There was a guy coming down from the otherside of the forest. Oh no. Oh no. She was so close, she was not letting anyone steal this win. "Hurry up, girls!" she said as she started running. Despite the complaints of her ankle and despite the very much unfit shoe choice. She was not gonna be second! She could admire the mansion later on, even though it looked very much like a luxurious version of those cabins Dixon always took her too. Why was she thinking of him? How had he popped up in her mind? Perhaps because this was the very first time she had left the safety of her home again after what that Douchebag had done to her? Perhaps because he would have loved to be at a place like this? Fucking hell, why was she still spending any portion of her brain to him...

"Hurry, Ambrose!" She called out to the male of their group, who had the biggest head start on them when she noticed a second guy coming down. And undressing. Well, that was... rather unnecessary? And if walking backwards on heels had proven to be a bad idea, running on them was even more of a bad idea. And thus that guy that ran for the pool was not the only one taking of clothing pieces as she hopped onto one foot to take off her heels, before switching to the other which caused her to hiss and then yelp in pain. Fuck. She couldn't... But she had to. She couldn't give the victory out of hands while being so close.
