Lost

Freya followed after him, he moved easy, she gave a half grin. It took her a few minutes longer but she got to him soon enough. Seating next to him, she looked out. That picture was on her mind again. She turned to watch him, he didn't look that different. It was actually really good to see how he'd grown. She grinned, "Ok, now what, master." She teased.

He glared, but smiled, revealing he was kidding. "Doll, it's Lord and Master." He winked. "Now we enjoy this. It is going to be a good day." He put his hand on her knee. "We used to meet here in the evening, when you could get away, and we would sit here and talk forever, up here we can see everything. " A soft fog settled on the lowlands .

Freya looked at him, curiously, 'when she could get away'. So even as a child, he was not seen as a very good person. Her grandparents must have fought her a lot when it came to him. She smiled at him, "Kind of like now?" she giggled. She looked out at eth fog and smiled, it felt like she had done this before, but she didn't recall it by memory. "What would we talk about?"

"Just like now." He said, a gleam in his eye. "We talked about everything, anything. We pretty much had each other figured out. " He smiled, "And for some reason you spent a lot of time trying to murder me with pine cones. We had a joke. One day you were mad about something. I laughed, not at your problem, but at how animated you were. You took it wrong, started pelting me with pine cones." He laughed. "It evolved into you coming up with one way to kill me with a pine cone every time we came up." He lightly grabs and throws a pine cone at her.

Freya giggled, catching the pine cone, "Hey, I thought I was supposed to kill you with a pine cone." She smiled at him, he wasn't a bad person at all, at least not from the few times that they had been together, including now, most of all. He was fun and gentle, from what she could tell. She liked being around him, she love it, in fact. She didn't want to lose that, even without her memories, it was like she couldn't think of anything else for the last 13 years but being here with him.

"You know, I didn't come in town to get my memories." she told him, "Not all of my memory, not of this town." she looked down, "I actually only came for another reason.". She didn't know any other time to tell him, but she was still nervous he might think she was some crazy girl. To tell him that she was just there for him, she wasn't sure how he would take that. Buts he wanted at least him to know why she actually took eth responsibility of her grandparent's property.

He asked, helping her down from the tree. "Before you answer, there is another place I want to take you. For this you get to ride in my Challenger. This is a privelege. " He smirked, planning on taking her to the old fashioned Soda Fountain In town. At this point, he was over caring what everyone thought. "Okay. Now, tell me. Why did you come here?" He opens her car door, and once she got in, closed it. He got in, turning the key, the engine roared loudly to life.

Freya looked at her hands, she sighed, "This might sound creepy, but since I woke up, I keep seeing stuff, when I go to sleep. Little stuff, not like memories, at least I don't think they are." She hesitated. She was starting to doubt whether she should tell him that she was there for him, but that would probably be the only she would ever question telling him. "I see an boy, I never see his face, or hear his voice, but I know it's a boy. I know him. I feel like I couldn't really do anything without him." She stopped again, "I guess, I missed him, even if I didn't know who he was, or really anything. So, that's what I'm here for."

He was floored. He had no idea that somewhere within her, she missed him....they had a connection so strong that nothing could separate the bond. "You don't sound like a creep. I'm glad you are here " He admits. They walk into the soda fountain. The owner was obviously uncomfortable, but he was 90, he didn't want any trouble. "Finds us a seat. I'm going to get an old favorite of yours....a chocolate malt. " While it was being made, Johnathan brought her a glass of cold water.

He heard the door open and turned as the bell ring. He already knew who it was. Kyle Matthews, town tough guy.. jackass. Johnathan could feel his eyes on Freya, though he wasn't facing him.

"Heyyyyy, Freya." Kyle said. . ."Awww how cute, you are back here hangin' with the devil. Sheriff doesn't like people consorting with devil spawns." Kyle was a bully...and the preachers son. He knocked over Freya's glass. Johnathan could hear the water spilling onto her lap. He very very-almost too inhumanly quick- was between Kyle and her. His muscular body was tense, bowed up. He spoke through gritted teeth, his eyes took on a murderous crimson color, but very subtley. "APOLOGIZE AND LEAVE." Kyle laughed. "Are you going to magically burn this place down???? Freak! !!" Johnathan was angry. With his mind, he had the flames from the old man's grill dancing very high for a moment. Kyle reared back to punch Johnathan, but he caught Kyle's fist....sqieezing, bringing him to his knees. "I said apologize." Kyle winced, and then nearly cried. "Im...sorry. " Kyle said Johnathan loosened his grip. Kyle ran out. On his way he spouted off. "Your kind don't belong in this town. "

Freya flinched as the water hit her and before she could say or do anything Johnathan was between the. She didn't know how he had gotten there so quick but she was sure that it was one of the reasons they thought he was a bad person. She froze at his encounter with this by. Freya didn't know him, but she didn't like him either.

As soon as he was gone, she placed her hand on Johnathan's arm, "You didn't have to do that, I was fine." She said, her eyes turned to the flames, that now looked normal, before turning back to Johnathan, "I think I want to know what he was talking about, when he said about burning the place down."

The old man went to the back to refill the carbonated drinks after he brought Freya her chocolate malt and Johnathan his cherry coke. "That guy is a dick, but I am the outcast?" He smirked. "I got big shoulders, I can bear the burden." He leans back in the seat. "Well, telling you the first time was hard enough years ago, but I guess you need to know who you hang around with." He places his hand, palm up and a ball of flame appears in his hand. He closes his hand into a fist, the flame goes out. He sighed. "I am...I am half demon. No one really knows that but you. The town speculates all kinds of things. I guess I was 7, and you invited me to a picnic at church. I went, and I went to the bathroom, back then I couldn't control any of my abilities. Well, I burned the church down, but trust me it was an accident. There was a whole arson investigation and they couldn't figure out how I did it. So they called me satan....all kinds of stuff. There have been other incidents, but that was the beginning." He shrugs. "There are a couple of reasons I stay. My mother was brutally murdered after having me, the work of my father. She is buried in the Oak Forest cemetery down the road. If my father ever shows up....he will know where to find me. The other reason....I had hoped you would someday come back." He took a long sip of coke.

Freya listened to him in silence, before looking at her own drink. She thought of every word he said, ever word that guy said. She looked to the door, thinking of what she was sure anyone else would do. But she didn't really feel like doing that, she looked at him, with a smirk. "So, you can control it better now?" She was sure that he had to have, if he could get a flame in his palm. She smiled at her drink before she started to drink it, "I dn't see how that makes you a satan, or devil or whatever they think you are."

"My father. . . H e is a demon, a real one. So I am a hybrid. I dunno. No one knows that though, plus my eyes change color. The fire and the eyes are enough to raise much suspicion around here." He stold one of the cherries off her malt.

Freya sighed, taking another drink, as she thought about what he was saying. "So, I was the only one that knew about this?" she asked, unsure whether she could believe anything else. It sounded like something she would keep a secret, so she wouldn't have put it anywhere. "Can we go somewhere else, that we used to go?"

"Mr. Witley knew, but he died of cancer. He ran the boys home. " He stood up, even though the owner showed no kindness, he left a tip for the old man on the table. He laughed. They went back to his house and parked the car. He pointed to her window of her bedroom. "I have had nightmares my whole life, I used to stay up in there with you. It's like I could finally sleep......I dunno. We hid a time capsule in your room. Did you find it yet? "

Freya smiled, looking at her window, for a moment, before turning to Johnathan, "Well, no. I tried to find anything I could in there, but all I found were our initials on the ceiling. I'm pretty sure that we jumped on teh bed to do that. It was right over the bed, and my initials were not a clear as yours were." She giggled at the thought of finding them and not being too sure what they were, until she saw his initials. "But why don't we do that tonight?"

"Well its under the floor board under the carpet." He laughed, following her into the house. He walks up the staircase into her room. "Its.....under that corner, " he says after some careful consideration. "Will you do the honor of pulling it out?" He easily removes an oak desk off of the corner it was hidden under. "I dont even remember what is in there." He looked up smiling at the initials in the ceiling. He flopped back on the bed. "Yeeeeeppppp! Still comfy." He rested his hands behind his head. "Okay, drum roll...." he pats his legs waiting for her to pull the shoebox out.

Freya smiled at him, as she took out the shoebox and went to seat on the bed, placing the box between it. She let out a deep sigh and smiled at him, briefly before opening it. She smiled at the first thing that caught her eye. Standing against the long side, as a few pictures of her and a boy. She smiled, looking at them. She smiled, noticing markings, she turned them around. In her handwriting were their names, times, dates and two messages, one in her writing and another in what she guest was his. They wrote how they felt, thought or just random things about the picture. She smiled at Johnathan showing him a copy of the picture he left on her door. She said, "Is your handwriting still like this?"Her note was how fun it was to climb and how she couldn't wait to visit again.

He laughed. "I actually think it is worse." He reminisced, looking at the pictures.

Looking at her again, into her lovely eyes made him feel. . .he loved her. He always loved her, but he never felt worthy of loving her. He always loved her, but he pushed his feelings aside. How could she love a monster?

"I am glad we are here. Im....glad you came back" He said, wishing he had better words than that

Freya smiled, she was glad to be back. Looking into the box, she smiled, taking out a acorn she grinned, tossing it at Jonathan, "I believe this belongs to your head." She giggled, she wasn't sure why it was so funny, but she was sure it was.

"I'll happy to be back, too. I don't think I have every been so happy, trying to get my memories back. I'm glad you stayed. I'm not really sure what I would have done, with the whole town trying to keep me away from you." She sighed, slightly annoyed, by the town's helpful yet unhelpful manner.

She smiled, looking back into the box, as she pulled out a small note book. "A journal?"

(I will post today or tomorrow. My dog didn't get better until they realized it was his back and gave him new meds, my daughter is teething and screaming her head off, and then it was my wedding anniversary so we went out of town to Seattle. We are going home today)

He smirked at her. "Aw now, I forgot that we had this. We used to write notes to each other and leave it under each others window." He smiled, remembering fondly. He was definitely not one for emotion, but with her, he couldn't help feel.....love. Watching her face light up over an un-recognizable past, just to see her smile, it made his day. He leaned against the wall. "So, are you sticking around, or is this temporary?"

Freya smiled, looked at the journal for a little while, before she opening her mouth. She had planned to go back home when she found him and when she got her memories back. But he had been here waiting for her for so long she wasn't sure she could leave now. She wasn't sure if it was because he stayed or that she just didn't want to go. "I don't know yet. I didn't plan on staying for too long, just long enough to get some memories back. But I guess that isn't as easy as I thought it would be." she smiled at him, "I guess for right now, I'll stick around, at least until I get more, if not all of my memories back."
