LOCATIONS
With portals appearing here and there, across this merged world, that's just how our supposed "heroes" (or villains, if one dares) will explore! But just where can these portals lead? Well, read the following to find out!
Node City
Originally having been separated into different areas called “Nodes”, it’s now one big city thanks to the merging! There are quite a couple of places to go here, most notably the following:
JOEZ Bar - A small but busy place to get a drink or two! With multiple pool tables, a counter if you want to get up-close with the owner and bartender Joe, and frequent visits from musicians like PAFF, it’ll be sure to be a great visit. Just… watch out for any drunkards or angry patrons.
Node Ruins - With run-down buildings from the past, and even abandoned(?) androids lying about, the ruins are quite interesting to check out. With plenty of nooks and crannies, this isn’t too bad of a place to hide out in. Not only that, but you might even find some spare parts or other various pieces of junk!
However, there are some places that would be best to avoid. Namely, the Kyuu Hou Kai’s part of town. Some say that there’s some unknown activity going on underneath… But on the bright side, there’s a hospital there, also manned by the Kyuu Hou Kai! So any injuries or illnesses will be taken care of there.
Lumiose City
A lively place to visit, Lumiose is sure to leave a good impression. It has a good amount of attractions, so if you’d ever like to pop into one, feel free!
PrIsm Tower - The Pokémon Gym of the area, the tower itself is the top dog in terms of attractions! Seeing it lit up at night can be such a great sight, and within you’re able to challenge Clemont for the Voltage Badge.
Sycamore Pokémon Lab - One does wonder though, how do you participate in the Gym without a Pokémon? The answer is through the lab! Professor Sycamore is a rather friendly fellow, and he won’t mind handing over a Pokémon for you to start off with. Obviously he can’t give you a buffed-out one, but a beginning one is better than none!
Lysandre Café - A fairly red place to get a cup of coffee, it’s actually rather pleasant there. Just… don’t ask what’s behind the cabinet. Not like there even is anything there!
Yongen-Jaya
This area is heavily populated, but the backstreets are calmer and filled with niche establishments. Whichever fits your fancy, the setting overall is one that shouldn’t disappoint.
Apartment Complex - Being heavily populated, there’s various complexes for citizens to reside in. And even with the merging, there are still empty living spaces for those who need a roof over their head.
Café Leblanc - A small café within the backstreets, this place is best known for their coffee-and-curry combo. Some people speculate that the leader of a certain group resides there, but it’s highly unlikely.
Takemi Medical Clinic - The place for all your medical needs… eh, up to a certain point, anyway. The owner has medicine of her own to sell, made with her own hands. Who’s to say that they won’t be better than the common folk’s medication?
Keyblade Graveyard
A barren land, the weapons of many Keyblade warriors are jabbed into the ground, unused and dusting away for many past years, and likely more to come.
There seems to be nobody around the area, the wind gusting along the deserted place. However, it's a pretty good place for a spar... or a full-out fight, if one dares to initiate one.
Agri-Farmlands
Covered with fields of crops, livestock pens, and even fish-filled oceans, the Agri-Farmlands are made of separate parts of multiple planets dedicated to producing food.
Working around these parts is extremely difficult, as there's always something to tend to. It takes the most determined of folk to even make it through the day. The area is generally peaceful, not much violence occurs. So, hanging around isn't too bad of an idea... just don't get involved in the farmwork if you're not up for it.
There are docks near the fish-filled ocean, with a certain sailing turtle named Kapp'n. He'll happily take you to Yoshis' Island (elaborated on later), that is, if you have something to offer him.
It's said that a portal will appear occasionally (or conveniently), leading to some underground city...
Traverse District
...and underneath the Agri-Farmlands, through said portal appearing occasionally/conveniently lies the Traverse District.
Seeming to be a peaceful area, it is said that this place only appears for those who have nowhere else to go. Of course, it’s always around, but that’s how it used to be before the merge.
There isn’t much to say about this area, for while there are shops for items, weapons, and accessories, there’s not much description for those. There is also a workshop above the item shop, but otherwise that’s it.
However, some say there have been shadow-like creatures roaming around at times. Whether it’s true or not, no one’s sure.
Yoshis' Island
Upon arriving at the island, courtesy of Kapp'n, you may be greeted by a variety of colorful, dinosaur-like creatures. Don't worry, they're not huge, reaching about 4'7" in terms of height. Nonetheless, they're incredibly friendly, and probably won't attack unless provoked.
There's a vacant castle if you look around to the best of your ability, having once been housed by a certain green-haired Koopa. Nowadays, its residents consist of spiders, cobwebs, and maybe a Koopa Troopa or two.
Speaking of Koopa Troopas, the island is seperated between the Yoshis and the Koopa Troopas. The leader of the shelled enemies is a Rex, who is actively trying to take the whole island for themselves. One does wonder who will win in this tug of war for the island.
Time Rifts
Occasionally, there may be a glowing, swirling orb found in any area. Coming in contact will lead you into a Time Rift, a place caused by the cracks a Time Piece has caused in reality. Upon reaching the “end” of the rift, there will be an hourglass floating in midair. Collecting it will lead to you being shot out of the Rift and the Rift disappearing. That hourglass is the aforementioned Time Piece, and breaking it will reverse time back to a few minutes.
