Realistic or Modern Livin' the Greek Life

"Oh by the way my name is Yahtzee and I am majoring in Law. What about you, and what part of Germany are you from?" He out stretched his hand

Lacey made her way to the front of the building. The movers would be there in no time and she wanted to be there to show them exactly where she wanted things, though she was sure they already knew that. They had been bringing her thing there for 2 years and it hadn't really changed much.

As she thought, the movers had just pulled up and she greeted them warmly. "I'll pay you double to stick around when you're done and help out the others." Lacey paid him twice the amount and he happily agreed. She went back and held open the door for the men with her larger commodities to haul them through the door.

"Hey Steve," She tapped one of the men on the shoulder and he stopped, " Have some of your guys help those two over there would you? Tell them Lacey from Delta Zeta welcomes them." She pointed to the guy and girl who were unloading their car. He nodded and gave the instruction before continuing on.

"Hey there," Two men approached Hayden and Amelia happily, "Lacey from Delta Zeta sent us to help you out and welcome you." They stopped a few feet away, waiting for the okay to help.

@NessieAlways

"Yahtzee? Ich heiße Hans." He smiled at him, taking his hand in his iron grip and shook it vigorously. "I am here for...." Hans narrowed his eyebrows as he thought of the word in English. "Mechanical Engineering. I am from Munich, Germany.

He was ecstatic over making a new friend, he gave his hand a few good shakes before dropping it.

Lance:

He turned to the boys one last time as he walked onward. "Well my boys, I shall see you tonight then? I am off to greet others that may need mt help. Welcome to our home, and make yourselves comfortable." Lance then turned towards the entrance once again as he was off towards the innumerable others that would have to arrive before lunch. Then at that moment as he stood there in his Tux he saw the Leader of Delta Zeta, her name was Lacey and she was quite a looker. Lance smiled as she walked into the entrance, they had only had spoken a select few times before this and it was for mostly the purpose of knowing who represented their brother or sister Greeks. I held open the second set of doors open for her and gave a bow as she approached. "Lacey" he said as he finally raised his head "It is a pleasure as always."

Lacey turned back to make sure they got in okay when Lance, the president of Sigma Chi opened the other door to allow them more space. They really didn't speak much but she supposed that was partially because of her frequent involvement with all things dance and Delta Zeta.

"The pleasure is all mine," She nodded her head towards him and smiled brightly. " And thank you so much. The movers will be here all day if you need anything taken in."

Lance:

He smiled as she passed by and propped the doors open. "I moved in a number of days ago in preparation for these first days. If you or the sisters need anything, anything at all, you know where to find us, just ask for me and I will make it so." I then made room for the movers to come into the building seeing as they were starting to move larger objects into the dorms now.

Arrow finished collecting up her boxes and headed down the hallway, finally back on track now. Fumbling slightly with the key before successfully unlocking her room door, she headed inside and just dumped the boxes on the floor. Unpacking could happen later as far as she was concerned. "Well we're here Brae, we made it" she murmured before heading out again to explore, wondering what the gym was like here.

"Mein Brüder that's right we are brothers now." Yahtzee was now glad that he knew some German, and hoping to make Hans feel more at home here he started to mix in a little German. "So Hans is there any sportarten, die man gerne?" Yahtzee was right now thanking his grandma for making him learn her home language.

Hans's eyes light up and he smiled at Yahtzee. His first American friend! Hans was extremely excited and his smile grew bigger.

"Ja, ich mag Boxen, Fußball, und Ringen." He said, throwing a few jabs and a right cross. "Und du? Was magst du?"

He mimicked a few more motions of the sports he liked and laughed.

"We can speak English if you would prefer. I know I can need practice." He said.

He suddenly turned red and shook his head, that sentence wasn't right.

"Tut mir leid, ich braucht Ausübung." He said, scratching his head.

@Roach of Wrath

Yahtzee's eyes lit up this time when he heard boxing." Well is that a surprise I'm on the boxing team." He began walking in the direction of the gym." Yeah I know what you mean I've been driving all day I need to do something other than sit on my butt." Glancing over at Hans a small smile spread across his face. 'First day and I already made a new friend .' He thought to himself

"I was too in Germany. I really enjoy the Amerikaner sports, I really liked wrestling too." He said with a smile. "Most people don't understand boxing and want to watch Fußball more than Boxing."

He pointed at his Germany jersey and smiled.

"Fußball is very big in Deutschland. It is like American Football here in Amerika."

"I'm not really into watching soccer, but it's fun to play with friends." He said while he continued to walk to the gym. "We should have a friendly spare at some point for better practice." They finally arrived at the gym which was full of state of the art equipment.

"I don't like to watch sports, I want to play." He said with a smile.

Hans laughed at Yahtzee and nodded.

"I would like that, but are you sure you want to be embarrassed in your homeland?" He said with a joking smile.

Hans stepped foot in the gym and looked around and spotted a speed bag and walked over to it. He smacked it around a bit, warming himself up before starting to hit it for real. The speed bag became a blur as Hans worked the speed bag and the echo of the bag hitting the board sounded in the empty gym.

@Roach of Wrath

Locating the gym after a little exploration, Bo barely noticed the other people in there as she spotted, and headed straight for, the treadmills. This was good equipment, really good. A lot better than what she'd had around back home for sure. Deciding to try it out, she stepped on and set it in motion, picking up her pace into a run with it.

Hans happened to notice the girl walk in and he stopped the speed bag and waved at her.

"Hallo!" He called out.

He hoped she'd hear him, and maybe he'd get a chance to make another friend. He waited until she acknowledged him before he'd walked over and introduced himself. He wasn't sure how people were in America yet, and he didn't want to mess up.

Hayden and Amelia

It was around Noon when the siblings had finally finished unpacking and settling in. Hayden still had several boxes to unpack, but Amelia who packed lightly was in the process of organizing her clothing. A text message arrived to ALL the members of the apartment complex. "Meet @5th floor for lunch and social time."

Amelia

After Amelia was done organizing she head to the 5th floor. The place was decorated with welcome banners and colorful tables. The place looked like a unicorn had barfed rainbows on it. There were several girls in a pink colored table, but they were out of Amelia's social group so she decided to sit in a green table that was empty. There was a glittery centerpiece in the middle of the table and several plates around it. A small picture frame caught her attention. It was a group picture of the members of past fraternities and sororities at this very place. Amelia shifted in her seat noticing how most of the girls were tall and blonde. Sure Amelia was blonde, but she was not anywhere near tall. A waiter came by and took Amelia's drink order. He later returned with a pitcher of iced tea and a menu for Amelia. Amelia dismissed him politely and began to look at her menu.

Hayden

At the text Hayden didn't hesitate. He threw on a fresh shirt and quickly rubbed on some deodorant. He checked himself out on the mirror doing a quick hair flip and a wink before walking out the door confidently. His room was a mess, but that was nothing he couldn't fix later on...maybe. Hayden took two steps at a time rushing to get to the social event and start meeting girls. That was why he was here for after all. As he walked in the door he saw a group of girl sitting at a pink table and he walked up to them. After several failed pickup lines Hayden retreated in a glorious defeat. He saw his sister sitting alone in a green table and dodged it quickly. He didn't want to be near her any more than she wanted to baby sit him even if he was older. Scanning the room, Hayden saw a tall tan girl and decided to make his move. He walked up to the girl and began t work his charm.

Setting: Going to the Fraternity and Sorority Lunch In

Task: Order a LUNCH plate. The most yummy looking lunch wins 5 points for their house.

Criteria: Is it a lunch plate?//Does it look good?// Is it filling?

Hans felt his phone go off and looked at it, it was a message from the fraternity, asking them to make their way to the dining area. Hans smiled and stuffed the phone back into his pocket and decided to make his way there. He said good bye to Yahtzee and headed back to his dorm, where he searched through the bags for a tie that matched his shirt. After finding one and putting it on, he smiled at himself in the mirror and headed toward the dining room. Arriving at the door, he opened it and stood there for a moment before spotting a lone blonde girl. He smiled at another chance for a new friend and walked over and pulled out a chair beside her, and turned to look at her.

"Entschuldigung, may I sit with you?" He said.

He smiled at her and waiting for her to reply. @NessieAlways

Lance:

The time had eventually came for lunch, I myself took a seat at the head of the Sigma Chi table and got my order taken, like it was the year before, only this year he had taken the head and not any other role on the table. He looked to the others around the table and saw the other seats of the house filled, Pro Consul, Magister, Quester, Steward, ect. They were all my pledge brothers the year I pledged, an event that rarely happened. The others were not as keen to take on the gentlemanly charms and ways of conduct, but I myself found it fun, relaxing in a way. I I had waited for and seated the sweetheart personally (Sigma Chi has only one female member a year know as the sweetheart, she is chosen from the sisters of one of the other sororities) before taking his own seat.

Amelia

Taken by surprise, Amelia jumped in her seat a bit startled by the blonde stranger next to her. After his question registered in her head Amelia smiled back at the guy. "Of course! There's plenty of room in this one man...woman party!" She pulled a chair next to her and patted the chair indicating for him to sit. It was a bit of an odd gesture, but Amelia was in fact a bit odd. "What was that word you said before? It sounded Russian, maybe Czech. I'm Amelia By the way." The nerves of being the only two at a table and the feeling of having to make a conversation made Amelia babble a lot. Well at least it was a step up from silence right?

"Amelia? That is a fine Deutsche name. Ich hei-" He started, then smiled and shook his head. "My name is Hans, Hans Schuhmacher."

Hans smiled at her and sat beside her, then turned to face her.

"Das Wort ist Deutsch." He said with a smile. "German. You say it like this.; In-school-dee-gooung."

He smiled at her and beckoned for her to try.

@NessieAlways

Amelia

"Thanks. Nice to meet you Hans." When the Hans began to pronounce the word he had just spoken Amelia tried to mimic the guy, "In-skool-di-gong" She began to blush as she vocally slaughtered the word he had perfectly said. "Yeah...I think I'll stick to English.What does that even mean?" Amelia began to giggle but took a sip of her drink before she embarrassed herself even more. After she was composed, Amelia smiled "Are you German or do you just speak German?"

@Wiggle

Hans smiled and a small chuckle escaped his lips.

"That was good, you almost had it. Gut gemacht." Hans said, patting her hand.

He stopped for a moment as he thought to himself on how explain it in English, and after a few moments, he smiled, as if he figured out how to explain it.

"It means, you are very pretty." He said with a small smile.

He then laughed and shook his head.

"It means 'Excuse me' in English." He said. "Ich bin Deutsche, und Ich komme aus Munich, Deutschland."

@NessieAlways

Amelia

If Amelia's face wasn't already noticeably red, it resembled a ripe tomato now. Her eyes widened at his comment and she quickly retreated her hand. "I...ummm...Thank you." She gave a small smile when he told her the real meaning of the word and took another nervous sip of her tea when he began to speak again in words she didn't understand.

Amelia felt very awkward at that moment. She felt as if all eyes were on her, judging. When the waiter appeared to take their orders Amelia let out a relieved sigh that someone broke the tension she felt bubbling inside her. "Do you have anything that doesn't have animal products?" The waiter stared at Amelia confused, "We have salads." A bit disappointed by their lack of vegan choices, Amelia had no choice but to get a Caesar Salad without chicken or cheese.

@Wiggle

"I am sorry, I must try to remember I'm not at home here, I am German and I come from Munich, Germany. Things are very different here, and I don't understand sometimes. Forgive me, but why do you not eat......uhm....animal products, was it?" He asked.

When the waiter asked him for his order, Hans eyes widened and he quickly looked down at the menu and read over it. He pointed to a picture of Chicken Alfredo and tried to pronounce it, and failed, turning a beat red.

"How do you say this?" He asked Amelia, pointing to the picture.

Amelia

A small smile crossed Amelia's face, but then she remembered her slaughtering the word she had tried to pronounce earlier and the smile fell off her face. "It's pronounced like this...Chik-uh-n Al-freh-doe." Amelia smiled waiting for Hans to order. She handed her menu to the waiter and took a last sip of her tea which was now empty.
