Lifeless River (AllisonChase x Guardia)

"Now do I look like one?" I leaned over, pretending to pant like a dog. It had been awhile since I was able to relax around someone and act like this; like I wanted to. But, as a Prince, I had to act like I had a pole stuck up my back and pretend I was my father.

I laughed spawning a small butterfly that landed on his nose. I loved to relax, all the lessons for being the perfect princess. I smiled widley. "You seem to enjoy being in my company."

I waved away the butterfly, it's wings brushing my cheeks. For a moment, I thought of Era's lashes brushing my cheeks, her face close to mind. Then I blinked and blushed. "Uh, yeah. You're nice, for an Elf," I attempted to make a joke but it came out soft.

"I am?" I had always thought I was stuck up and rude. "Well you're nice for a werewolf." I kicked around a rock on the ground, He was handsome and kind.

I laughed. "Not when I'm hungry. Or waking up. Or working. So not very often," I laughed, picking up the rock and chucking it. It flew through the air and hit a tree with a thud, the rock leaving a dent. "Little too much umph, huh?"

I shrugged my shoulders, as I levitated a rock and skipped it across the river. "Then I won't be around at those times." I blushed, my stomach growled loudly.

I turned to her, cocking my head. "You should go home. You're hungry," I nodded. "And, if you're not around for those times, how will I find a friend to make me feel better?"

"B-but, I actually don't wanna leave." I admitted. "But if I must." I stood up and packed my magic bag. "Some how I'll figure it out." I took off my necklace and put his around his neck. "Keep it to remember me." I smiled.

I touched the new pendant around my neck and smiled. "Alright. I'll take good care of it. You go and eat and maybe we can meet back here tonight. Only if you want," I lowered my eyes to the ground.

I smiled as he touched my necklace. It made me feel special. "Okay I'll be back tonight." I gave him a quick side hug, and then ran to my kingdom. My mother and father had no idea I was gone and greeted me. I quickly headed to my room and took my book looking at the picture I had drawn. I hung it by my mirror.

I smiled, catching her scent one last time. I shifted and ran back to my cabin, two Wolves outside waiting. They were checking on me, making sure the Prince wasn't off being mauled by a loner or something. They sniffed at me and growled. I was checking the border! Shut up! I snapped my teeth back and they lowered their ears.

I grabbed an apple from the tree outside my window. I took a bite into it. "Mmm this is a juicy apple!" I smiled walking downstairs, and my mother had appeared at the bottom of the steps.

"Time for Lunch Era, wash up love your filthy."

"Yes mom," I ran to the bathroom and cleaned myself up and headed to the dining room.

I shifted and walked inside, the two Wolves shifting into a woman and a man. The woman was quiet and dainty almost like a human librarian, taking my excuse. "I see." The man was burly and clumpy identical to a beer belly motorcycle driver, laughing at it. "You reek of them! You were on their side, huh? Scoping out new territory?" he smiled, but his giant beard got in the way.

Lunch was with the Royal family of our neighboring kingdom. I sat and pushed my food around with my fork. I couldn't stop thinking about Hunter. He was a nice guy.

"Era? Dear your food is getting cold."

"Oh. Yeah." I ate a little and pushed it away. "I'm not too hungry now." I got up and headed to the docks.
.

I pulled out a beer and threw it to Andrew. He caught it with a laugh. "You know me too well, son!" "Ms. Liela? Would you like something?" he looked to Liela politely. "Oh no thank you, dear," she smiled, pleased with his attitude. "Alright. So when's the invasion? I've been dying for action!" Andrew sat on Hunter's couch. "There will be no invasion. The Elves have done us no harm," Hunter spoke.

The Prince of the neighboring kingdom came and found me on the balcony.

"So have you heard the news?"

I looked at him, ~What news that you're a no good liar and deserve to burn.~ I thought harshly. "No I haven't. Please enlighten me." I hissed.

"The lifeless river, There are werewolves on the other side and you smell like them, you've been searching." He seemed slightly annoyed. But I didn't care. I just turned and walked away, setting a spell so he wouldn't follow me. I packed an overnight bag and some food.

Andrew laughed as if it was a joke. He stood and thumped towards him. "Listen, boy. Our numbers are growing and you're just sitting idly by and watching. We accepted your wish to wait for a queen to become king but so far, you haven't looked. This kingdom's gonna go to hell if you don't-" his voice growing. "Andrew! Please, Hunter, we need to make a decision soon."

It was around dusk when I looked up from my book. I put it in my pack and headed downstairs. I paused as I heard voices, My mother and Prince Miles.

"I doubt that Miles. She is allowed down at the river just not across it and as long as the werewolf didn't hurt her he is allowed across!"

"She's going to get hurt." I huffed and strode down the stairs.

"So, I'm going to go to the river to study, PLANTS Miles. Plants." I growled and waled out of the castle and then took off towards the river.

"Boy, this is serious-" Andrew started again, but Hunter held up a hand. His eyes glowed bright, anger lit. "Listen. I understand that our population had risen but there is still uncharted territory that your army is too afraid to venture in. Once we're COMPLETELY out of room, call me," he growled, marching outside.

I stopped at the rivers edge, Angrily kicking a rock. I sat down and curled into a ball. ~Please come soon Hunter, Something bad is about to happen~ I sighed and re-composed myself and played with my magic and waited.

I shifted, running to the river. If I don't get in control of him, I'm going to have to explain to Era why I'm invaded her home! I walked into the stream, scenting Era. I barked and shifted, smiling.

I saw Hunter and gave him a half smile. I walked up to him. I wanted to hug him and explain everything that I thought was going to happen, but I didn't I had to be sure. My hair was up and I was wearing my riding pants and a shirt.

"What's wrong? I smell distress," I frowned, walking through the river. Sure it was cold and probably would mess up my shoes but she looked sad. I reached for her, touching her arm. "Are you okay?"

"Just worried." I smiled up at him. I couldn't stand it anymore, I just hugged him. I felt like nothing could harm me here. I sighed releasing him from the hug turning a deep scarlet.

I took a breath, feeling her hug me. She let go too soon and I grabbed her hand and pulled her back. I hugged her tightly, resting my head on hers. "So am I."
