I meandered through the forest, stopping every once in a while to sketch a few plants or birds. By the time I had gotten to the river it was near noon. The sky was blue and on the side of the river I was on everything was at peace. The opposite bank was dark and brooding, werewolves lived there. I wanted to draw one for my book but the wolves rarely came to the river. I sighed sitting down on a rock, my spellbook and research book. I practiced a few purifying spells, just hoping one would come along.

I walked along the path that I usually did. Even the plants had stopped growing on the path from how many times I used it. I was in Wolf form and lifted my head, sniffing the air. The breeze was blowing behind me but I didn't worry; the Elves couldn't smell me and they rarely came around. I was taught to run if I saw one that was too powerful; I was taught that they'd kill me slowly, then take my fur and use it for potions to harm other Wolves. I saw no one, so I walked onto the bank, taking a few laps of the clean water, even though it was called Lifeless River.

I saw a glimpse of a figure in the corner of my eyes. I turned my head slowly to see the figure of a wolf, I almost gasped aloud. I stood up silently. I took out my pencil and drew a sketch of him. The wolf had a beautiful coat. I was told since I was younger too not go near the dark forest, that the wolves would hurt me, but I didn't believe that. I took a step forward almost into the rushing river. I took a step again and tripped into the river. I gasped because of the cold water. I stood up dripping wet returning to my side of the bank, tripping once more. ~Today isn't going well~

A sound of a splash and a gasp brought me from my silence. I ran forward immediately, rushing into the fight. I could barely see the figure but once I did, I nearly tripped over my own paws to stop. She was an Elf, but the most beautiful Elf I ever saw. Of course, this was the first ever female Elf I've ever seen. I stood still for a moment, but the river's pull brought me back and I lowered my head, growling lowly. I wasn't going to hurt her. I would only scare her off.

I had alerted the wolf, he had started to growl. I started to back up. The rushing river nearly made me lose my balance again. I was focused on the wolf. "Hey now! Don't growl! I just wanted to sketch you." I got to my side of the bank and sat on the sand, "I see why you're protective, I would be too. My life in danger." I don't know why I was ranting but it seemed like it was the right thing to do. The wolf didn't scare me but I didn't exactly feel safe.

I stopped, the girl, instead of trying to blow me to bits, was trying to talk to me. She was only here to draw. I looked over to her cast away book and saw the drawing. I lifted my head, fur still bristled. I barked to it, wanting to see it better. I didn't know why I was holding back; Father and the others to kill relentlessly. But here I was, feeling bad for an Elf because she got wet.

He started barking again at my book. "Oh you wanna see?" I smiled and laughed a little. I grabbed my book and walked to the other side of the river. I placed the book down and flipped to the page with his half completed drawing, some of it was smudged from the water. "I'm sorry it's partly smudged." I sat down feeling uncomfortable.

I would've smiled if I could. But I sat back after I gave it a sniff and grunted. I stared at her intensely, not wanting to drive her off. I wanted to see if she could stand up to a Wolf's stare. If she could, he'd give a go at talking to her in his human form. If not, well he'd watch her run screaming from his deep, violet eyes.

I stared back. when I was younger I always had done staring contest with my father. It was too bad he left me alone at a young age. I continued my gaze at the wolf. I pulled my knees into a ball, not breaking my gaze with him. "If only he hadn't left me. "

I huffed and shifted, standing in the water as a human. I looked down at her, violet eyes glowing still. She was beautiful and I cocked my head to the side. The smell of Elf had dulled over and now all I could smell was something...fresh. And I liked it. "You shouldn't be here," I spoke gruffly, voice deep yet smooth.

"All I wanted was to draw. But Okay." I picked myself up and wrung out my cloak. "I guess I won't see you again." I sighed crossing the river tripping again. I stood up and headed to my side of the river once again. My long red hair dragged behind me. I sat on a log not far away from the river as I tied my hair up. The man seem nice but I was warned not to mess with the werewolves. I used my magic to dry myself and then walk back to the banks and lit a small fire. ~If I can't be over there I'll just stay here.~ I smiled to myself.

I watched her with curious eyes, my dark hair falling over my eyes. I wanted to follow her, keep that scent but I knew I'd be breaking a law if I did. So I sat on the log, now shifted. I waited for her, watching the banks for any sign. I caught her and sat on the other side of the bank, watching her. My tail wagged slowly, not matter how many times I sat on it.

I sat down on the sand in more comfortable clothing, pants and my normal top. I built a little fire to keep me warm. I looked up to see the werewolf looking at me still. "You seem like a curious one." I stepped into the water once more not being so clumsy. I put my hand into the water, Feeling the cool river against my palm was relaxing. I took a step closer to the other bank, smiling because I couldn't believe that I actually met a werewolf.

I stood up, watching the elf girl walk towards me. I could smell her scent over the clean smell of the river and took a step forward. I could see her extended hand and I felt the pull to let her touch me. But I stayed on the land, daring her to cross over the border. I wouldn't attack her; that I knew. But if she had the slightest trust in me, which I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't, then she'd walk over here.

I walked over to the Dark Forest's side, and continued towards the wolf. my hand out so he'd know that I was friendly. I knelt on the sand waiting for him to trust me. "I'll stay here until you trust me." I smiled.
I sat till nightfall, waiting for him to make his move. I fell asleep kneeling.

I moved forward and leaned my head against her hand. I pulled away slowly and shifted, sitting cross-legged in front of her. I studied her quietly, wanting her to reach out and touch me again. Her smell was overwhelming and it captivated me more than a silver cage could. "Then you may stay awhile," I whispered, smiling ever so faintly.

I woke up with a jolt. The man was crosslegged in front of me, "oh hello!" I smile sitting closer to him. He was so intriguing, Like an enigma. I looked into his violet eyes with my red ones. "Have I gained your trust?" I smiled meekly. I reached out to touch his head hoping he wouldnt react negatively.

I sat still, allowing her to touch me. "Maybe. I'm not sure yet. Do you trust me?" he spoke softly, no emotion in his eyes. He had to suppress it, not allowing the beautiful girl to gain the upper hand. He had never studied an Elf and decided to take this voluntary victim.

"I do trust you." For some reason I felt like he'd earn my trust, how I don't know. My hand touched his skin it shocked me a little. His skin was so smooth. I stood up slowly. "You interest me." I wrote a few things in my book.

I raised an eyebrow, the first sign of real emotion. "I interest you?" he stood up, moving close and looking down at her. "How do I interest you," he spoke deeply, eyes boring down on hers. He wanted to touch her face as well but resisted.

"I've never met a Werewolf before, this is my first time." I smiled, looking around him. "You don't keep your tail or ears when you're in human form?" I scribbled more and more in my book. I put my hand on his face.

I blinked in surprise, lifting my hand to touch hers. I cocked my head, looking at her. "Why would I keep my tail or ears?" I frowned. They're telling some odd stories over there. I dropped my hand and sighed. "I've never met an Elf."

"Well in the stories that my father told me, I assumed you'd keep your ears and tail." I smiled as he said he'd never met an elf. "Well now you have!" ~He's so mysterious are all of them like this? I have to know more.~ I took my hand away from his face.

"I guess you now have met a Wolf. Are you scared?" I smiled, feeling my teeth grow to fangs. I wasn't trying to seem bad, it sorta just happened. I don't know why but maybe it had to do with the fact that it was close to the full moon and I had skipped my half transformation last one.
