Weston Ayers ~ Omega

Weston was cold and uncomfortable, but his head was somehow cushioned and there was a wonderful smell invading his nostrils as his senses started coming back to him. It was quite a confusing sensation to wake up to, but as soon as his eyes blearily blinked open and he saw Cana staring down at him with hope and worry in her eyes, everything came flooding back to him, along with the pain. He groaned and squeezed his eyes shut again, trying to block everything out and barely hearing Cana talking to him. There was a dull ache all over his body, intensified in places he was sure were either bruised black and blue or grazed. The worst pain was in his arm, made more unbearable when he tried to twitch his fingers, and across his abdomen, making breathing a little more laboured than normal for a recovering werewolf.
With a deep, staggered breath, Weston blinked his eyes back open. Cana was still staring at him and despite his current condition a soft smile spread across his lips and his cheeks heated up from the way she was staring at him. "Hi..." He mumbled, too busy looking her over for any signs of pain or distress. "You mentioned elders, parents and alphas. I'm a little lost but I'm guessing I have to go and face their drawling voices for my fate?" Weston tried to chuckle but it just turned in to a cough as he clutched his stomach.
With his good hand, Weston pushed himself off Cana's lap and into a sitting position. "Y'a know. You as an alpha heal faster. So why the hell aren't I? Would be real nice right about now." He grimaced as he used the bars of the cell to force himself into a standing position. "Because if I just get the power bit every now and again and have to deal with the consequences of being brash then I want a refund." He looked over to Cana, seeing her watching him and grinned. Exhaustion gave Weston a strange perception on life and his cynical humour definitely came to the forefront. But it was a side of him he'd never had an issue showing to Cana; especially when one evening, just as exhausted as he was from staying up with her for hours and hours on end after Christian died, that'd she'd mumbled to him, half awake and half asleep, that his cynical side always gave her a good old chuckle.
"Come here you." Weston's grin turned into a soft smile as Cana walked over to him. He lifted his good hand up and cupped her cheek, dipping his head and kissing her softly. "I don't know when I'll get to do that again... Shall we go face everything?"
