Lies of the Beautiful People

Ms.Ward sighed, "Fine don't use the bar, sit down and stretch both legs out in front of you and go into pike position. After that stretch on leg out and reach for that foot and then do the same thing with the opposite leg," she said hovering beside him. The class was almost over and everyone was starting to break up.

Rose watched him start to walk away before calling out to him, "Connor, Which way is the kitchen?" she asked before he got too far away.

Alex muttered something foul, and got on the floor, stretching his legs in front of him. "Sure, Brian. Shoot," he said, and then added, "Hell, this is painful," as he stretched into Ms. Ward's given position. Cursing infront of teachers didn't phase him one bit; he knew that for most people it was the worst thing they could do. Maybe it was Alex's rebellious nature. Maybe he just didn't care. Whatever, Ms. Ward wasn't exactly easy to impress, nor was it a tragedy to upset her.

As if in a daze, Alex reached over to pull his sleeve back over his wrist to cover his scars again. They almost showed...If Brian - or worse,
Ms. Ward - saw that he had cut himself, that would be like digging his own grave. Muttering something incoherently, he straightened his back a bit to bring his arms back. Not. Happening. Today.

(I seriously love how Emory and brian are flirting, Toni is doing her own thing, Connor is trying to get something out of Rose and Alex is being tortured by the teacher.... xD )

"Okay," Emory said as Brian went over to Alex. She wondered what he would be asking Alex. Emory quickly pushed away the thought and leaned aginst the wall, hoping class would end soon.

Connor looked up as he heard Rose call something to him "Down the hall and to the left." He yelled back not taking to time to stop and turn around.

The fact that Connor would not even take the time to turn around and look at her when he spoke only proved Rose's suspicions. He was a jerk and she was most likely better off without him but something about him made her curious. She did not think it was romantic but his attitude was intriguing to her almost like some bizarre social science experience. What made a person so arrogant and self-satisfied? Rose would practically bet money that deep down Connor was just an insecure little puppet and his string were being pulled by "social norms." Similar to how her family had acted, as a socialite you were either in or you were out and did not take much disobedience to be out.

Ms. Ward sighed watching the boy, he had a wonderful frame and if he just tried he might have potential. If he worked on his stretching his muscles would begin to loosen up. "Your done the bell is about to ring. Your homework is to stretch I want to see improvement tomorrow," and just as she said this the blaring tone of the bell rang through the studio.

Alex stood up immediately, releived, and shoved his sleeves as far down as he could. That's it - he was putting in thumbholes. "I get stretching homework? Yay...." he said, murmering the last part. He sighed and shoved his thumbs into his pockets, then turned to face Brian. Hopefully, Briqan wouldn't ask about Alex's wrists. "So, you want to ask me something?" he asked as he rolled his neck. Stupid dancers.....

"Yeah," Brian nodded slowly, feeling a blush creeping onto his cheeks. He pointed to Emory. "See, I was talking to that new girl. She's... really cool. And, well, I'm gonna show her around the school." He sighed. "But I still get lost from time to time. And, well, I kinda like her. I need a wingman." While the thought of being alone with Emory was thrilling, he was still pretty nervous that he will say something stupid, like usual. "You can leave after a bit, man, but just help me out."

Alex sighed and clapped Brian's shoulder. "I really sincerely hope that you know you couldn't have picked a worse 'wingman', but okay," he said with a smirk. "Except maybe Connor. I have one tip for you. "Don't babble," he adviced. Alex was really comfortable around girls, unless, of course, he liked her.

"Don't babble. Right." Brian repeated, straightening his shirt. "Man, I'm nervous. Does it look like she likes me, too? I mean, we danced, but..." He heaved a sigh. "Never mind. Let's go."

"I wouldn't say you don't have a chance," Alex said. He smiled in dark amusement. "You'll do fine, you big baby. Just don't think about it. Walk beside or infront of her while you talk - trust me, it calms the nerves." Alex wasn't sure where all this advice was coming from. He had only ever had one crush, and that was disastrous...

Rose walked up to the teacher, "I memorized the steps," Ms. Ward looked doubtful but she watched. Rose had already slipped out of her paddock boot so her movements would be less clumsy. Carefully and hesitantly she stepped into each ballet position her arms following her feet just as carefully. Pausing in each position she would look up at Ms. Ward's studious face and wait for a nod for her to continue. In each of the positions Ms. Ward would make a small correction but over all she was mostly pleased. Rose was dismissed with a nod of the teacher's head, smiling Rose slipped out of the classroom and tried to find her way to the kitchen.

Brian nodded as they approached Emory. He looked between them, "Emory, this is Alex. Alex, Emory. He's coming with us for a bit, if you're okay with that." He said with a big, sheepish grin. "See, I'm no good with directions. Don't want you to get lost and all."

"Yeah, that's fine." Emory said with a smile, as she got up from the bench. She was a bit spectical about the weird emo kid that was going with them, but didn't let that show.

Connor quickly said bye to his buddy's and ran off to the kitchen. He leaned along the door opening, waiting for Rose to come.

"I'm a blast, really," Alex said with a slight monotone and a big grin. Clearly, she was wary about him. Oh, hell, that was funny. Tough new girl caught off guard by a guy dressed in black and dyed his hair. Maybe this would be fun....No, no. This was a favor for Brian. There will be no scaring of the new girl. Although, he totally could....No.

(Sorry for crappie post...I love Alex X))

Rose peered down the hallways looking for the kitchen. She spotted the back of Connor's golden head and began walking towards it forcing herself to lighten her steps so that her boots did not thump on the ground. She tucked her map and schedule in her back pocket so that they peaked out of the denim jodphurs ever so slightly.

"Connor," Rose called softly as she approached his turned back. She wasn't really sure why she was here, it wasn't like this guy interested her very much and based on the looks girls kept giving him he was trouble.

Oblivious, Brian began walking out of the studio. They'd have to walk pass the classrooms, but he wanted to show her the gym. It's nothing like his old school's, where the gym was small and hot and filthy; here, it's huge and it had all sorts of equipments. She'd be thrilled when she sees the pool. "Well, let's go then."

"Okay," Emory said following Brain. She was very exited and a bit nervious, but mostly exited. She walked along side Brian "So, where are we going first?" she asked eyebrows raised.

Connor turned around, to the voice he had heard. "Hey, lets go." he said gesturing for her to inter first. He brushed his bangs away from his face and smiled at her.

(Sorry, for short post!)

Alex walked on the other side of Brian, staying out of the way and quiet. Where they were going first, though, Brian would have to pick. Alex was not going to lead the full tour - that was not something he liked. However, he had no problem with telling him when and which way to turn. He could actually see Brian and Emory as an item - they were adorable togethor.

"The gym," Brian said. "It's one of my favorite places. It's, like, really huge. And cool." He grinned at Emory, intentionally brushing the back of his hand against hers. The contact was brief, but he liked the way her skin brushed against his. He eyed Alex slightly, as if asking him what he's supposed to do. To be honest, Brian was way more than ready to ask Emory out then and there, despite the fact that they just met an hour or so ago. He felt like it didn't matter. He liked her, so why not? Then again, it's only been an hour. Emory would probably think he's either a player or an idiot. Not a very safe choice.

Alex caught Brian's movement, and could immediately tell how bad he wanted to ask Emory out. He shook his head twice, a brief movement that got the point across. if he could sned messages with his mind instead of his lips, he would bore into Brian's head, Wait until I leave - Be patient, you lovesick puppet. He couldn't, but his expression probably said that much.

Emory did not take much notice to Brains hand brushing her's. She turned her head and gave him a quick smile before looking back in front of her. She brushed some hairs away from her face and sighed. Her heels made loud sounds as she walked down the hall, but no one seemed to care all that much or be bothered by it. She flatted her dress down a bit and countinued to walk beside Brian.

Brian wasn't sure if he should laugh at Alex's expression. The guy might as well just drop dead of boredom, disgust, and anything in between. He noted that Emory didn't seem to notice the subtle movement, and wasn't sure if he should be disappointed. It might be better that she didn't, after all. He was a little too nervous and too jumpy to think straight.

His mom would call it a crush, for sure. With all the crazy flips in his stomach and the way his heart beat real fast. She would say that a relationship based on something so fleeting would never last, and he would only end up with a miserable breakup in the end. Brian swallowed. But his mom wasn't here anymore. She was home, far away, with dad. Probably mourning for Matt still. And for him, too. They'd think he's dead. Brief pictures of that faithful night flashed through his head and he felt the color left his face, his head dizzy and his body losing balance.

Alex only needed one look at Brian before he stopped walking and caught Brian's elbow. "Dude, are you okay?" he asked, steadying Brian. He wondered what went through his head to make him so...uncoordinated. Brian almost looked like he would pass out. Was it Emory he was thinking about?

Emory noyiced Brian's dizzyness and quickly acted, she caught him a bit by grabbing his shoulder. "Are you alright?" she asked sill holding his shoulder, with a tight grib. She looked at him eyes wide, Why is he off balance and dizzy? Emory wondered to herself, but that though got quickly replaced with Is he okay? She took a deep breath, waiting for an answere.

"Sorry," Brian mumbled, shaking his head. He attempted a grin, but the face of his little brother flashed before his eyes and he couldn't. "Just... a little nervous." He kept walking then, a little faster than he needed to so he could be in front of both Alex and Emory. Memories like this came back to him every once in a while, but ugh, why now? He was making new friends and, who knows, a potential girlfriend. He glanced at Alex warily. The guy wasn't stupid; if anything, he hoped it didn't look suspicious.

Alex blinked. "Ah...You shouldn't apologize, if you need something tell me. I can get you some water, if you want?" he said, shoving his thumbs into his pockets as he walked. Don't let it embarass you, dummie, is what Alex would have said, but Emory would get, if anything, suspicious. To him, Brian was being a bit stupid about it. He could easily pass out if he didn't slow down, or at least let Alex get him some water.
