Alcide Evans, Al for short, is a young man of 18 years. He has curly, short black hair, brown eyes, and stands at 5 feet 7 inches with a slim fit build.
Al is an energetic individual. He refers to everyone, even authority figures, casually and teases others playfully from time to time. He is also quite charismatic, and a bit of a flirt. Overall, he is a cheerful and kind person with quite the carefree attitude. He normally expresses an optimistic outlook towards others. When it comes to things regarding relationships and romance, Al tends to be very nervous or uncomfortable with those things due to his pure-hearted nature. Despite normally being a very cheery character, Alcide has his serious moments from time to time, and as much as he enjoys spending time with others he finds more enjoyment amidst his own thoughts.
Alcide was the child of a popular stage actress and some lowlife guy who disappeared when he found out he'd gotten her pregnant. Alcide didn't care much for that, however. Such was the way of life; crappy things happened, and the best thing one could do was grin and bear it. And he grinned a lot. Even though Al couldn't spend much time with his mother in public, as if the wrong people found out, it would mean the end of his mother's career.
So their time together was few and far between, but still enjoyable for the young boy. He would watch television, read, and listen to music with her, and sometimes, he would even perform scenes from his mother's projects with her and displayed a natural affinity for it. Eventually, his mother decided it was time to take a break and focus on being a mother. She left Alcide at home and left for her final performance. That night, she was killed on her way home. There were no witnesses. The killer was never found.
For years, Al wished that his mother had left enough money behind for him to take up a one-man crusade against evil in the world, but it wasn't to be. From the age of 7, he lived with his aunt and tried to find some place to ignore the feelings that tore him up inside. He found his outlets in roleplaying games, literature, and fantasy of all kinds, dreaming of another world where he could be a hero and do for someone else what he couldn't and nobody else had done for his mother. With the introduction of DKO, Alcide was offered the opportunity to live these fantasies like he never could before. There was no way he would pass up the chance.

it's open until teams are solidified, and it seems like the characters can change races later through certain quests, but we'll all start as humans...the in-game characters are human, right?

He sports a thick Irish accent, although he can change voices, one moment he could be the Irish kid his parents know, the next he could be an American exchange student. He also speaks somewhat fluent Japanese.

He loved it in Ireland, kids were nice, people were friendly, and every now and then he could get a few sips of beer or maybe a shot if he played his cards right. However, eventually he had to move. In which he moved to America. It was ok, although people weren't as nice as they were in Ireland in the place he'd lived. But either way he still enjoyed it. At the age of 10 he was exposed to something new, something enjoyable... anime. He loved it, and found himself trapped in many universes, where he wanted to live and breath. Eventually, he was tired of multitasking while watching anime which was subtitled. So, he did what anyone would do. He learned Japanese. He spent the next four years learning the language, how to speak it, and in what tones. When DKO came out he was extremely excited and bought it immediately. It was like a dream come true... a VRMMORPG where he could immerse himself in a world like the anime and shows he watched. And that's how he wound up there.
