I was thinking of creating a second character, but someone on the weaker side of the spectrum. Do we need anyone like that for plot purposes or anything?

The heir would fit that bill. But other than that we could use some normal teir people. Perhaps a friend of the siblings on a journey with them and the guardians. Or a friend of Guardian Daisuke who lives in Yinsig and is who he will be opening with. There is any number of possibilities.Doomyfish23 I was thinking of creating a second character, but someone on the weaker side of the spectrum. Jin will be greatly liked by the warlord. Her professional demeanour and cold ruthlessness speak to him. He would have a similar mindset of the strong being the ones that matter, the major difference is he believes the strong should guide and protect the weak within reason. Thats why he is so angry at the emperors. Millions live in their nations and suffer a lack of guidance. Granted its a bit naive of him to think he can do better. But he doesnt aim to take thrones from anyone. He aims to tear them all down and leave the world as a collection of small communities within towns and cities.Ima post the char here for now, if no one takes the spot I can put it up with the other sheets once it's approved.
Name: Jin (she was never given a surname)
Age: 24
Gender: female
Sexuality: Bi
Distinguishing features: Jin has several scars, the most noticeable being one from her ear to the base of her throat on the right side of her face. She also wears a red mask on the lower part of her face, made to look like the mouth of a demon, with curving, pointed teeth.
Occupation: Bodyguard, now the general of the Mountain Warlord that is challenging the twin empires.
- Jin was never allowed to express herself, any attempt to was met with punishment so at first she appears cold, indifferent and direct. Her neutral expression remains on her face through the most heinous bloodshed. She kills quickly and without feeling, being the almost perfect weapon she was fashioned to be. Now that she is free of her old life however she is beginning to find her curiosity; she was never permitted to question her purpose, but now with her role so drastically changed, the questions come unbidden. Compassion is foreign to her, and so is pride in her own ability. She is beginning to learn that she quite likes fighting, but more to test her strength than to kill her opponent and she is learning that her point of view was born of a very dark life.
Jin is still learning to be more than a weapon, she will only see people of greater or equal strength as true equals, and approaches everyone with a quiet caution. She has come to expect being tricked or double-crossed so gaining her trust is difficult, but deep down, she wants to trust and she has always wondered what it would be like to have someone watch her back instead of try to stab her in it.- He called himself Lord Byakko, but in truth he was a street thug that was clever, ruthless and powerful enough to unite the darkest hearts in the land under an organized banner. He controlled all sorts of crime and had rings in both empires. His power grew and he thought he would pass it on to his son, but becoming that powerful in those circles does not come without enemies. His son was killed in a raid by a rival crime lord and woke him to a new plan. He needed protection, but not just any warrior.
He would choose a child with a strong primal chi and train them to be a weapon. His weapon. The process began: he collected children, some he bought from poor families, some he had stolen, and week by week, month by month we would test the children, having them beaten, in all cases, to the death. He was about to give up, resign himself to the reality that none of them would have the raw power he wanted…until the last one. She was only five, but he found her in the room, bloody and bruised, with a wild look in her eye, crouched in a corner away from the corpse of his lackey.
He called the girl Jin and from then on, he trained her mercilessly. Her chi was wild, but primal like his and he tempered it with violence. Jin was young, but clever, and she learned quickly, it was the only way to survive. She learned to control her chi, and that made her all the more dangerous. Anger was beaten out of her, and pride and hope. The only way forward was to follow orders, so she learned, and she killed and she locked her humanity up so deep within herself she nearly lost it. The central lesson Byakko taught her, was that the weak must die. When the warlord came to the village, Byakko happened to have business there, it was one of his favourite haunts.
He took the attack as a personal insult, and commanded Jin to fight. She fought for her life, but even with all her training it was not enough. She was beaten, but when she expected the fatal blow, it never came. Instead the warlord asked her to join him, the condition? Set herself free. Jin turned to the man who had called himself her father for 20 years. The look in his eyes confirmed what she had suspected, Byakko was no longer the strongest of the two, it was Jin, and as he had taught her…the weak must die.
Ambitions: Jin is learning what ambition is, so what she wants is not yet set. She is trying to learn how to live more for herself, even if she is in the service of another who may be just like her “father”.
Likes: Jin respects strength, but she likes fighting. She likes testing herself against others, though if they lose, she will kill them unless stopped. Now that she has more freedom she is discovering that she likes music, and poetry, and art. Human things that seemed like some sort of secret she was never privy to. She also likes to laugh, and she has discovered that she loves sweets.
Dislikes: Some might assume that she dislikes weakness, but in truth she is completely indifferent. The weak die, that is the end of it. She has discovered though, that she will intervene if someone is mistreating a child. She does not like tricks, or sneaky, underhanded fighting tactics. She also does not like fish, they are smelly, and slimy, with bug-eyes…she just doesn’t like fish.
Chi level: Base 500/Max 700
Chi Techniques:
Chi Bleeding: One brief but powerful acupressure point strike that rips a hole in a person’s chi, causing it to bleed from them until the chi is sealed again, or they run out. This gradually weakens the opponent throughout a fight, and if the chi wound is not sealed the person will eventually die. Cost: 120.
Rage of the beast: Jin combines her tiger-like combat style with chi-infused strikes that become more powerful the longer she attacks with them. At full power this move can be concentrated into one strike that can interrupt the chi flow of an opponent’s attack and break it, causing a large burst of power with an explosive force. Cost: 200, 3 moves to power up fully.
Tiger’s tail: Jin can create ribbons of primal chi that can be suspended in the air about a battlefield. They burn when touched, and can adhere to the chi of an opponent, acting like ropes that stick and trap chi, hindering its flow and making chi attacks more difficult. The physical body of the opponent is unhindered. Cost: 180
Primal roar: Jin projects her chi in an intimidating, concussive battle yell that can knock an opponent back and stun weaker enemies. Cost: 80
Type of Chi: Primal chi
Fighting Style: Jin uses an enhanced form of tiger style. Her attacks are powerful, direct and fast. She skill is based on movement and a rock-solid stance. It is difficult to overpower this style with brute force. Jin, though her strength is drawn from primal chi, has been tempered to use it in a controlled way, refining her strikes and style into only the most necessary of movements.
Weapon of choice: Jin often uses her fists, she can use a sword and carries one, but her weapon of choice is a pair of steel knuckle claws, simple and strong.
To be fair...thats what he is to me as well.Alright, I am ready to pull this all nighter; just so every one know when I make the "power/chi moves" I will not have read any of yours past glancing at Agent's dancing man (yes sorry I call him that right now) and the Monkey style. So if when I post and you read/see there is a move that sounds too similar to yours, please inform me
right now I am way to absorbed in her backstory
Im digging the painter. The siblings would be very encouraging to artists. So I am torn between character ideas right now XD.
Female: Princess that uses Chi to enhance her beauty and bewitch people. Or a poet/artist who was friends with the twins and uses Chi to turn her paintings into weapons.
Male: A protector of a small village on the border who is a little free spirited. A musical prince that fights using sound waves and is a little nefarious. Or a Prince who secretly sold his soul for infernal Chi with the hopes of winning the coming war and claiming the opposing throne
What kind of character are you writing?Question, would there be a chance that my character would have met these characters if even for a short period of time if at all, just a bit concerned about her being able to interact with them
Which ones? The dancing guy gets around alot. Daisuke traveled alot about thirty years ago. The warlord is on the border territories and has been for about 5 years now.Question, would there be a chance that my character would have met these characters if even for a short period of time if at all, just a bit concerned about her being able to interact with them
Ill leave it up to you wether she is in the know or not. I am working on 4 different opening scenes that will be occuring simultaneously.Wait, I think a better question is; when the roleplay starts; has she already been convinced to be the betrothed or will that be done ic, and I imagine it's possible the dancing guy could have been encountered at a festival or something (she likes to dance). My character will be 21, I just want to know when we roleplay will they be interacting often considering the goals of the guardians and the goal of Jin (emperor); maybe they get in and she isn't yet enlightened that they are people the empire wants?
i just need to finish my bio so it will be better to ask/explain, I'm sorry almost done
All of those sounds awesome. So I am torn between character ideas right now XD.

I still have no idea hw to do quotes but,And for yinsin it was to be a military drill but it could just as easily be a wedding rehersal.
This kingdom knows how to get stuff done. Drill? Wedding? Why not both?I still have no idea hw to do quotes but,
it could be both, maybe a drill in the morning, earlier part of the day and wedding in the afternoon? Up to you both sound interesting
