Legend of Se'phir - Warriors of Legend Awaken!

  • At the beginning of time, Se’phir was created. The Creator filled the land with many races. Humans, Elves, Demons, Beasts, and Fairies. Along with these creatures, the Creator placed six spirits to watch over them. Lir, ruler of water, took refuge in the seas to the North. The Beasts who dwell in the deserts depended on him to survive. Bel, ruler of fire, occupied the volcanoes in the southern Islands. The Demons who lived there bowed to him in fear of his deadly fires. Anu,...

It has been almost a year since the attack on the Elvin city of Elisedd and just as quickly as the mysterious attacker appeared, he disappeared. Anyone who would have seen the identity of the attacker is dead and the only witness accounts are villagers who said say a large black dragon flying nearby. Within a couple of days, all of Se'phir had learned of the events and panic started to set in. Each of the kingdoms went on full alert and started to question each other about the attack. However as time went on and there seemed to be no other attacks, people began to calm down but the leaders kept an ear to the ground and their armies ready just in case. Every now and then you will hear of a village being attacked but they were assumed to be just random raids. No one has seen or heard of a black dragon and now most people think that it never truly existed.

An Elvin woman in a royal purple cloak walked through the busy streets of Jarek, her platinum blond hair blowing in the breeze. A small snow fox followed at her heals, often barely missing obstacles in the way. "Yuuichi, I have a task for you." She said in a quiet tone that most around her wouldnt hear over the chatter on the street. "The winds are changing and my brother is getting restless. It is time for you to find them. There will just be the four to look for. He will look for Abzu." She turned her gaze to a seemingly elderly man fully cloaked and walking with a staff. Silver, youthful eyes were just visible under his hood as he nodded in understanding. "Send word and I will meet you here when you find them."

As the little fox follows closely behind his master, he continually glances from side-to-side, concentrating heavily on not stumbling over small obstacles. His ears perk up, causing his attention to divide a little as his master speaks to him. Listening intently to her words, his attention to that which is before him finally slips enough to cause him to stumble over his own feet. Yuuichi nods his head in response to his master as he senses her gaze change to another target. In attempt to not be made a fool of, the fox turns his head and faces the individual his master is looking towards for a moment before turning and walking slowly in the opposing direction. Down the street a bit he turns down an alleyway and breaks into a run.

Unasked questions fill the mind of the young fox as he stops in a narrow alley halfway across the city from his master. Checking around to make sure he wasn't being followed or watched, Yuuichi hides behind a box in the alley. With a bit of a grunt of pain, the fox shifts into his human form grabbing a bag he had hidden in the alley and quickly getting dressed. Once dressed, Yuuichi puts the bag on his shoulders and starts to leave the alley the same way he entered. Tail wagging a little bit in anticipation and nervousness at this adventure, the boy sniffs the air a little, trying to make up his mind on where to head first.

On his way out the southern gate of the town of Jarek, Yuuichi stops at a stand selling apples. The boy grins happily as he catches the scent of one of the female human workers that is near his age. Reaching into his pocket and grabbing a gold piece he places it on the stand infront of the girl. "A bag of apples and a kiss?" The boy grins mischieviously at her as he waits. Once receiving the bag of apples, the boy pauses for a moment, concentrating on the girls presence waiting for her to lean over to kiss him on the cheek. Right before the girl can kiss him on his cheek, Yuuichi turns and plants a kiss on her lips. Cheeks a bright crimson, Yuuichi grabs his bag of apples and runs out the gate. "I'll see you soon." Out of fear and sheer want to be done with them, the boy starts his journey heading southeast towards Redhawk, the first destination on his journey as he heads to the land of demons.

"Thank you, please come again!" Pierre happily waved at an old man walking out of the shop and closing the door behind him, leaving a ring as the bell had been jostled. Adjusting his work apron slightly, Pierre walked around the counter and began taking stock of the items left out, from cloths to potions, nothing was left uncounted. Finally satisfied, Pierre began walking behind the counter before bumping into a small elderly woman with silver hair, hazel eyes, and long almost floppy ears. "Why Pierre, I was looking for you. I want you to make a small run over to Pinnella. The cart's ready. While you're out, look for my granddaughter, she went out to visit an old friend." "Sure Ma'am, no problem!" Throwing his green apron on the counter, Pierre ran out from the shop, turned the corner, and almost immediately departed.

The beginning trip had been mostly quiet. The horses were well rested and the load in the cart was light, so they were making quick progress. before he knew it, Pierre was already almost out of the forest, without any hassles. Ears moving happily, Pierre whistled a happy tune as the light began to thicken while exiting the huge dense of trees.

Fierra woke up with a start, in her bed. Fierra just had her daily nightmare again, where a black dragon devoured her. She was breathing heavily, and it was also late afternoon. It was very tedious to train her elemental powers and it always made her exhausted afterwards. After seeing a great dragon and a strange man attack this city, she had decided to stay her for a few year to help them rebuild or defend the possible future attacks. Handily, elves also knew a lot about magic, which meant more training and knowledge for her abilities. She stretched and groaned a little bit, then pulled back her wool sheets, and got out of bed with her cat trailing behind her.

A few of her new friends gave her a slight nod and a smile as she walked down the stone streets. She didn't respond back, as she was still cranky and tired from her nap. She was walking toward the huge library. Later, she would probably go hunting, which was how she made her living. Minx meowed behind her pathetically. Since they were nearing the marketplace the cat got all worked up by the smell of food. Fierra bent down to her and gave her a stern look and harshly said,"No!" She stood up and wished she had just stayed in bed.

Having been lost for several days, Laira never lost her prankster spirit. Prank after prank, passerby would wander about aimlessly, or think they were being attacked, who knew illusions were so much fun! A couple of weeks later though, and it's bound to take a toll, even on a fairy. She was no where near home anymore, and she was feeling lonely. A friend! Yes, a friend, that's what she needs. Let's go look for a friend! Indeed, then we can have fun together!

Having wandered around, she finally spotted someone noteworthy. Laira had walked up to the, their back turned, and tugged on their clothes. It must be weird, seeing a fairy so far from one of their villages. Though not unheard of, fairies weren't an every day sight, though most certainly every one has seen one occasionally. With her small childish voice, she had ask the person, "Hey, do you know where my village is? I'm lost." Leaving it at that, she sported a sad face, frowning deeply, eyes wide.

(Descriptions of area and people left vague for a reason, hint hint, wink wink, poke poke, get it? Got it? No? Fine...)

A young Elvin man in a tattered hooded cloak looked down the road to quite a familiar site. It was his home town, Elisedd. Taking a deep sigh, Saito mustered up the courage to continue to walk. It has been almost a year since he has been back and he is nervous to return. The last time he was here his whole world was destroyed. He lost his home, best friend, mother, sister...and his father. He felt a bit of bitterness when he thought about his father. Saito was always trying to gain his father's approval but was never able to receive it. And now he never will. As the gates came into view she guards stood in alert as he approached. He laughed just a bit. He remembers when the guards use to welcome everyone with smiles and a wave. "It's only natural that they are less trusting of outsiders." he said to himself.

"Who goes there?" The guard on the left shouted as Saito got closer, holding his spear at the ready. Saito lowered his hood and pierced at them with his ice blue eyes. "It is I, Saito Kadama." He shouted back. The guards then pointed their spears at him. Saito recoiled, staring at them, confused. "Whats going on. Its me, Saito. You couldn't have possibly forgotten me already." The guard eyed him suspiciously. "Saito Kadama has been dead for almost a year. So once again I will ask, who are you?" Saito sighed and unbuttoned his shirt, exposing a brand on his right shoulder. It was of a crest and in the middle was the letter 'K' with a dragon wrapping around it. The guards immediately dropped their spears. "Sir...I-I'm sorry. I-I did-" Saito raised his hand to silence him. He just laughed and patted them on the shoulders as he walked by.

Saito took in everything around him as he walked through town. Everything seemed the exact same. He noticed people staring and whispering as he walked by. "I'm sure seeing a dead person walking down the street is something to talk about." It was then that he noticed something strange. "A fairy in Elisedd? Now thats something new." Curious, he walked closer to the Fairy. The woman's small figure came more into view and he noticed she had a black cat looking at her, pleading for some food. Saito smiled and noticed a fish stand near by. He walked towards the girl, grabbing a fish along the way and flicked a gold coin to the fisherman. He bent down and offered the fish to the cat. "I couldnt help but notice this cat is a little hungry. Do you mind if I offer a small snack?" He said charmingly to the Fairy.

She turned around as she heard a voice behind her, offering to feed her cat. She saw it was a handsome elven man. Her shyness stirring up she mumbled,"Yes, you may. She probably doesn't need it though." Her eyes were fixed on the ground. She hoped that he wouldn't think she was a total freak, like some elves did. Fierra fiddled with her hair nervously. Minx meowed again, impatient and hungry for food. Minx was already a little chubby.

The boy stands at the edge of an alleyway, crouched a little towards the shadows as he concentrates on his next potential target. At first as a slight tug happens to his shirt, he thinks nothing of it, the second time it happens he hears the voice of a small child, reflexively thinking he has been caught, Yuuichi's entire body goes rigid. As he processes the words through his mind as well as the sound of the voice, he starts to relax as he turns to look down where he senses the girl to be. "I'm sorry that I do not know where your village is, but I can try to help you find it. What is the name of your village little one?" He smiles softly at Laira, looking slightly off to the side of her at first. Tilting his head slightly to the side, the boy waits patiently for her answer, completely missing her facial expression.

Saito handed the cat the fresh fish, pettting the cat as it ate. "So, what brings you to this village. You just passing by?" Saito asked assuming the girl just stoped there on the way to another destination. He noticed her hair fiddling and gave her a sweet smile. Charm came easy to him after being expected to win over potential allies at both home and in the military. At first he hated the skill and believed that his time and energy could go into something better. However as he grew it actually deemed quite useful, especially while he is out on his own.

Forcing herself to relax, she stopped messing with her hair. The cat happily munched on the fish and started to purr. Looks like somebody made a new friend. Fierra finally made eye contact with him and spoke,"No, I'm actually living here, at least for the the time being. I decided to do so after the dragon attack. I'm sure you've heard of it, right? Anyhow, I've been helping the city rebuild and guard it for future attacks. Who knows, I might even live here, it's a wonderful city. If you don't mind me asking, do you live here or are you just visiting?" Fierra had never seen him before. He looked sort of official, in a way. Rubbing her forehead, she leaned against a wooden stall. The market was busy today.

Pierre hummed happily as he finally left the forest completely and entered the fields. Knowing that the town was only slightly further away, he grinned broadly as everything had gone without a hitch. Suddenly, a strong force pummeled into his side as Pierre felt airborne for a second before getting struck into the dirt road, skiving off onto the grass. "BWOHAHAHA! See how 'e fell off he did!" A group of rowdy men were laughing hysterically as they jumped on the horses and the cart, with a fat elven man sat where Pierre once was. His attacker, he presumed. "Bandits huh..." Standing up quickly, Pierre closed his eyes and raised his hand. They were already gaining speed and dashing off as Pierre began reciting an old, ancient enchantment. "LEVAIRE!" The spell rang out and hung in the air, and suddenly a bright green flash halted the bandits within an instant.

"My village?" Laira gave a short moment to think, "It's home, of course." Sadly, she didn't know her village had a name other than home. It was always, 'go back home, or this is my home', or some similar reference, using home instead of a village name. Though she was an extremely intelligent girl, and already at the humans midlife point, she was very ignorant. "Do you know where it is?" Fairies tend to sound childish, due to their small bodies. Though they can sometimes contain more wisdom than even the elves, they aren't usually taken seriously, for the look and sound like children, as well as behaving like them sometimes.

"How could you not...." Before finishing his sentence Yuuichi stops himself, taking a moment to regain his composure. "Forgive me for that little one, I was about to ask a very rude question right there." Reaching into his rucksack, the boy pulls out a folded scroll and starts to open and lay it out on the ground before the fairy. "Maybe if you look at this you might be able to figure out the location of your home. The name is Yuuichi by the way, what is your name?" He smiles a bit as he glances at her out of the corner of his eye, hoping the girl hasn't caught his ruse about 'seeing' her. In his mind, questions are lining up quickly as he tries to figure out what the girl is, be it a Human or Elven child or maybe of a different race. In his 15 years of life, Yuuichi has never met a fairy, so he is not accustomed to their scent.

Saito sat and petted the cat for a little bit while the girl spoke. His eyes went a little dull when she talked about the dragon. It dawned on him that he has never talked about what happened with anyone. Either they were just afraid to ask or just didnt know to ask. He stood up and moved closer to him. "Actually I grew up here. I was in charge of the guard until I was promoted into the army. It has been a while since I have been back." Before he could continue more, two guards walked by, pushing him into the Fairy. Saito blushed a little until his attention was turned to the guards who just passed by.

The guards joined another, who was in an argument with a merchant, and started to search and throw around the merchants goods. "Where is your pass?" The ill mannered guard yelled at the merchant. "I told you already. My bag was stolen so I cant show you my pass." The merchant squeaked. It was then Saito decided to take a closer look to what was going on. He placed his hood over his head and walked over. "Stop that! You are destroying my wares! I have a family to provide for!" The small man yelled bravely. The guard grabbed the merchant by the collar and got into his face. "I care more about my family than yours. For all we know you smuggled in here and is planning to harm this town."

That was just about all that Saito could take. He removed his hood and walked over to them. "Leave that man be." he shouted. "This is none of your-" The guard turned around and upon seeing who shouted at him, his face turned white. Saito returned his gaze with a scolding look. "C-Commander Saito! I thought you were-" "I know very well what you thought I was." Saito cut the guard off. He was unsure if he wanted the girl to know about him just yet. "Since when was it protocol to harass and damage the goods of the merchants who bring food and money into this town. Food and money that provides for the family you clam so much to care about. What do you think would happen to your family if there were no food in the markets and the town coffers went dry from lack of trade?" The guard looked awkwardly to the ground. "But Commander. After the attack.." "I understand being cautious but this in unacceptable. You dont need to be cruel to people and you can definitely search without destroying their wares. Who is in charge of the guard now?" If he guard's face turned white once again. "I-I am Sir." Saito narrowed his eyes "You will be seeing me later."

He then turned around a walked back to where he was before with the girl. He sighed and calmed himself down. Saito couldnt believe that the guards turned into something like that in his absence. Remembering about the girl he turned to her with a smile again. "I'm sorry you had to see that. I just couldnt stand for them to act like that." His face turned a little pink again, afraid he made her feel awkward.

She watched as Saito helped out the poor merchant. When he returned to her, she noticed he was blushing slightly. Fierra replied, "No need to apologize! I would've done the same thing if I had the guts. One of these days I want to make a difference in the world. I hate how some people think they can do whatever they want." She noticed a guard still glaring at Saito, as soon as she did her looked away. She sighed," Well, it's getting late, and I still need to get some hunting done. I guess I'll see you around. I hang out in the library a lot." Anxiously, she checked to make sure her quiver was on her back. To her relief, it was snug in place by a strap, in between her wings. She secretly hoped to a see him again. He seemed like a nice guy.

"Oh, I'm sorry if I have kept you." Saito said scratching the back of his head. "Well if you like, I could help you hunt to make up for lost time. However all I have is a blade. If you happen to have an extra bow or know where I could get one for cheap I can get one." He smiles at her hoping she will let him come. His stomach growled very loudly. "And perhaps I can keep a little of the kill for some grub." Saito laughed a little. He realized he hasnt eaten since breakfast and now its nearly dinner time.

She was happy to have him come along, although she was nervous that she would act awkwardly or do something embarrassing. She cleared her throat,"Sure thing! I have one backup bow just in case something happens to my regular bow, you can borrow it but, don't break it please." Fierra handed him the bow, and she checked to make sure she got everything, then they were off into the tangled brush.

Fierra knew the way to get to the woods, and that made their trip short. Within a few minutes of weaving through the streets, they had arrived to the edge of the woods. The trees swayed slightly in the breeze. Fierra sniffed the air and smelled the scent of mildew, which always relaxes her. Feeling at ease she decided to fly a few inches off the ground. This was perfect for hunting, as the prey couldn't hear her. If they were extremely sensitive to noise they might be able to hear the wings. But that was very rare. Drawing her bow, she entered the woods.

Sunlight peaked through the dense branches. Butterflies gently fluttered past her cheek. Being in the woods was when Fierra felt truly at peace. For a moment she almost forget Saito was with her. She reminded herself she was here to hunt, not to daydream. Brushing back her hair, she perked up her ears. She listened for any kind of movement. Hopefully, they wouldn't run into any bandits. She had have a few times where she had to fight. Fierra really hated fighting. Too many people did it. Suddenly, a twig snapped to her left and snapped her out of her thoughts. Tensing up, she got an arrow from her quiver and drew the bow. Scouting the area, she quickly spotted a small white hare. She aimed and fired the bow. It whizzed through the air and hit the rabbit, on its chest. She grinned, next time she would try to aim for the eye.

Fierra floated over and retrieved the rabbit. As she grabbed the meat, she said,"I guess, you can get the next one. We'll take turns, if that's how you want to do this." Wiping off the arrow, she stored back into her quiver. She had feeling this was going to be a good hunt.

"Oh Kitra, I'm sure we will find a town here soon," Litina purred to her companion. She had been traveling the fields for days on end, with only her powers to keep her hydrated. "Do you see that wall over there? I'm sure that's something!" She exclaimed. Her cat simply let a low grumble in reply, then huffed out a puff of icy air. "No, Kitira," Litina sighed. "If we run into some guards, we'll simply fly over them. Not a big deal."

But as soon as they reached the city's walls, she knew that would be a problem. The place was surrounded. From top to bottom. "I'm sure there is another way." But all she could think of was to spread her wings and fly across the wall.

So that's what Litina did. She found a sparsely guarded wall and glided generally to the top, and then back down to the other side. There were merchants buzzing about. There were Elven people socializing with each other, but in the crowd, she spotted a fairy. Another fairy! Litina thought to herself.

But soon, she realized that the fairy was leaving, and decided to follow her.

Saito gratefully took the bow and followed the girl out of town. She has learned the town very well. However he will have to show her a few other shortcuts to diffrent parts of the forest. As they entered the forest she began to hunt and as Saito walked nearby he began to inspect the bow. "Prety sturdy. Nice shape. The string could be tighter to increase speed." He said to no one in particular. He checked the bow stringth again. "On second thought I don't think the bow could handle the tension." Withthe spark of inspiration Saito plopped onto the ground, pulled a kife out of his boot, and started to carve into the handle.

Just as he was admireing his finished work the girl spoke, breaking the silence of the forest. It was then that it dawned on him what he did. "I'm sorry. Ask before doing this." He turned the bow so that she could see the set of markings he carved. Right at the center of the bow, where you would hold it, symbols ran up and down the side. "I was just thinking that I could Iincrease the speed of the arrows with this. Those are runes, they enchant the item they are put on to give it the desired affect. These symbolize wind and speed. Let me show you." Saito walked carefully around untill he caught sight of another hare. He pulled the bow and as he released he blew onto the arrow. The arrow flew with such speed it whistled through the air. Before the hare could respond, the arrow struck its chest and knocked it two feet away.

Saito then noticed a sound behind them and quickly fired another arrow towards the direction of the sound. He didn't expect it to hit anything but if it was a persin he wanted to let them know they were noticed.

"Kitira! Be careful where you're stepping," Litina shushed. He lowered her head in a cowering stance. The ice spirit stepped on another break and it made a loud snapping noise. The elf that was with the fairy turned around and shot an arrow straight at her, giving her only a split second to react. Litina froze the arrow in mi air.

"Don't shoot!" She yelled and rose her hands in front of her. "I don't mean any harm."

As he spoke about the runes, Fierra had to remind herself not to reveal anything about her having the blood of Shu. She already knew about the runes but didn't really need to use them as she had powers of her own. Maybe runes could come in handy one day. Pretending to act impressed when he drew the bow and used the rune,"Oh wow! I have never thought of that." It was nice of him to help her out. Although, next time he should ask permission before carving on a person's bow. This time she would let it be. She glanced at the sun. There was still some sunlight left, but not a lot. Time could fly by in the woods. Well, at least for her it did.

She heard a rustle behind her and then saw Saito spinning around. Acting quickly, she nocked an arrow. She whispered to Saito in a scolding way when he shot an arrow towards the noise,"It could just be a hiker. No need to be so trigger happy." The leaves rustled some more. Then a fairy emerged from the trees.

She glared at her suspiciously,"Why were you following us? Do you want something? I'm not going to shot unless you have ill intent. But please, state who you are and why you're following us." Fierra aimed the arrow at the girl's heart. Looks like they're not going to get in a ton of hunting today.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to startle you or anything...." Litina sucked in a deep breath then tried to quickly explain herself. "Well, long story short, I got in through the walls, saw a fairy - you - and then you turned away and started walking. So I uh, I followed you. Sorry." She paused for a second them continued. "I hadn't seen a fairy in so long. Not since-" Litina looked down and scratched her head. "Nevermind. I'll just leave now." She began to turn around and Kitira followed her, a small whimper coming from her.

Saito lowered the bow and retreated a bit after the scolding. With the military training, what happened with his family, and now being out on his own, Saito had kinda become a 'shoot first, ask questions later' person. Not that he wants to be but things have been looking kinda sketchy lately. Highwaymen and bandits are on the rise and he had been attacked more than once while on the road. He moved behind the Fairy and watched as she called out to the person. Another Fairy came out of the woods with a creature of some kind. Saito's face turned a bit pink when he saw her. She was fairly beautiful, not at all what he expected. She explained herself and turned to leave. He spoke up quickly, wanting to possibly get to know her. "Please, you dont have to leave. I apologize for my actions. I have grown accustomed to being cautious while in the woods. I hope I didnt harm you or your..." Saito was not at all sure what to call the creature. He has never seen something like it before. It was also beautiful in its own since.

"Oh. This is Kitira. She's an ice spirit. I found her when she was a kitten. I tried to find her mother but it seemed like she had abandoned her so I started taking care of her." Litina knelt down and began to stroke her companion. She looked up at the elf and observed him. He looked to be about twenty, but she knew he would be older. He looked handsome to her, just from a basic observation. She was slightly attracted to him, sort of in an aesthetic way.

"I'm Litina by the way," She gave a small smile to both the elf and the fairy. "I really am sorry for sneaking upon you," she ran her fingers through her long black hair and let out a sigh. "I can help you guys hunt if youwant me to."
