Definitely. Toshinoro is definitely a bit more compassionate than Toshinoro, and only did what he did to Aurora to protect her, not for the purpose of experimentation. While Cedric can be a bit more harsh and will go further to achieve his goals.

I could see them putting their differences aside to attempt to experiment together, but it'd be a very awkward and hostile environment.

Definitely. Toshinoro is definitely a bit more compassionate than Toshinoro, and only did what he did to Aurora to protect her, not for the purpose of experimentation. While Cedric can be a bit more harsh and will go further to achieve his goals.

He doesn't have a sheet yet. He's one of the characters I still have to work on, though he was mentioned in Luminosa's lore sheet. Ivan is a Lucero and the head of the Church. Like said in the lore sheet, not much is known about him since he takes part in the underground workings of the Church rather than the part everyone knows the church for. But he's a skilled alchemist, even though he's a bastard. He's one of the bad Lucero's, and basically uses spirits and spirit parts for experimentation. He's even enslaved and kidnapped spirits before (there's another character in the works regarding his enslavement practices). He's also Sebastian and Hunter's father.
