Last Ones Standing

Lucille scoffed, and put her hands on her hips as she said in a posh English accent, "Oh I do fucking mind. It saddens me how people like Val more then me. Even though we are basically the same person. It only goes to show that people will only like you if you act a certain way. I might stay like this and take over Val's whole body!" She smiles and bursts out laughing. She winks at Christina, "Kidding!" She says to her, going back to her regular voice. "I understand that Val is easier to talk to."

His body crouches a little as he leans on Chrissy to help him balance. He takes a look at his surroundings and then at Chrissy. He tilts his head at her indicating he has no idea where they are or what happened.

@Cherrywitch

Chrissy honestly looked scared, trying to think how to calm her when she said she was kidding. An eyebrow twitched in an unamused way.

The brunette caught Val with a sigh, just smiling at him and giving him a look to say not to worry. Chrissy placed her hand on a brick, pressing it in and opening the hidden door into her lab, letting it close behind them. "Ah, don't touch anything. They're all tests, so I don't know what they will do." She explained generally go the many robotic parts and serums scattered about. Chrissy took his hand and led him out into the main section of the LAST hideout, where many members milled about.

@BennyAxC do you want to skip introductions since there's no other LAST members in there?

Lazarus's eyes widened the slightest bit as he realized who he was dealing with; a Superioralis. He held the other's gaze for a moment as he spoke, not replying to what they first said to him, his sarcasm dropping off for the time being. The two were playing the same game; except Laz was a few years behind in getting to practice it, and in that moment he was left wordlessly staring. <em>You seem annoyed enough, so I'll be on my way.</em> The nurse blinked. As the higher-up started to move away, Lazarus found himself saying, "Hey, wait a second." His hand reached up as though he was going to touch the other's shoulder, but then halted halfway there and instead curled into a ball as he retracted it. He said with a handful more respect than before, unaware that the soldier already knew his full profile and more, "I'm Lazarus. What's your name?"

Val looked around the room as he semi-hid behind Chrissy. She introduced him to many of the members that laid about as they made their way to the LAST leader. After a couple of introductions he found himself in a hallway before an iron door. The leader of LAST was in there. He held onto Chrissy's hand tighter as he took out the pen, "Chrissy. Before we go inside, can you please tell me what happened? How did we suddenly appear in front of the LAST hideout?"

Chrissy

The girl chewed her bottom lip anxiously, glancing up at the boy. "Ah... You, blacked out so I brought you here." It was partially true. Chrissy was unsure if he knew about Lucille, and didn't want to scare him if he didn't. She tightened her grip on his hand and led him into the leader's office. After a quick introduction, the leader stood and shook the boy's hand, welcoming him into the LAST family.

Chrissy then led Val to his room in the dorm wing where all the minumalis hid, staying uncharacteristically silent for the whole walk. She looked nervous, staring down at her feet as she walked.

Sasha

Eyes stared fearfully out of the dark corners of Deadman's Land, eyeing the cheerful blue haired girl who walked down the broken dusty sidewalks like they were flower beds. A big grin pulled at her lips, hands tucked into her army pants and her rifle bouncing against her back with each step she took.

The woman stopped, peering at an unfamiliar truck with some curiosity. Her smile cracked open wider into a maddening, sickly grin. She approached the driver's cab, blue-gray eyes scanning it curiously.

Bang, bang!

"Yooohooo! Come out, come out! I have a few questions for ya!" The woman said in a sing song voice, one hand placed casually on her hip as the other held the rifle by its strap, most likely the tool used to make the loud banging sound against the metal truck.

The rebels finished unloading the truck and retreated back inside. Once the ally was clear Victor hopped back into his truck. He was preparing to leave when there was a banging on his door. He looked out to see a woman with a rifle. He assumed she was a rebel. Rolling his eyes beneath his shades, he rolled his window down an inch, and only an inch. "What do you want? I have places to be?"

@Cherrywitch

Val took note of Chrissy's behavior as they walked back from the leader's room. She lead him into his room. He stepped inside and looked around. His eyes landed back on Chrissy as he wrote, "Is evereething okay? Your to sylent." In truth, everything was too silent. The voices didn't speak. There was no chattering, even the nice voice wasn't talking to him as he walked with her. He didn't enjoy it.

@Cherrywitch

Tannis looked back at hearing Lazarus' voice again, seeing the his outstretched hand getting pulled back. Their expression didn't change besides slightly cocking an eyebrow in a silent question of 'what do you still want?'

"Not that you need to know, Lazarus Jones, but-" They took a second to decide whether they should say an alias or their real name. This guy would probably forget it tomorrow anyway so... "The name's Tannis."

The soldier continued to walk toward the wall until they were mere yards from it, not bothering with any sort of goodbye to the Trialis. Tannis figured it was as good a time as any to take out their pistol, seeing as no sane person would be this close to the wall on either side, and not sane meant okay to shoot. They took a sharp turn, keeping an eye out for that bright pink that could give them a headache just by looking at it too long. The gun was held in two hands, a finger resting on top of the trigger guard, but the safety was off.

Chrissy

She opened her mouth, as if to say something, but closed it again in silence. After a moment of hesitation, Chrissy opened her mouth and did speak. "Val... You mentioned the voices before. Is, one of them named Lucille?" She questioned tentatively, glancing up at him with a mix of curiosity and worry. "Do you know any of the voices?" Chrissy rubbed at her arm through her thick lab coat sleeve, watching him carefully for body language to accompany his answer. Lucille didn't seem too bad, but if those other voices were able to take control like she does... What would happen to Val? The thought terrified the small woman.

Sasha

The bluette approached the window, leaning into it with a smile only got for the Cheshire Cat. It leaked madness, a loss of touch to reality. The woman batted her eyelashes in a joking way. "Well, you don't have much manners to ladies, do you?" She held her heavy chest up with her arms against the truck purposely, between them hanging a dog tag:

Sasha Tomlinson, New Army Soldier of Squad 33. ID- 409316.

The woman known as Sasha smirked up at the rebel, eyes shining wildly in their blue-gray color. "How about you tell me what you're doing here, first?"

@OGTomahawk

Val titled his head at her questioning. He shook his head and wrote, "I dont no them. They nevar told me there names. The nice voyce... I askd there name once.. They leff me with the voyces for 2 days." He stopped writing and clutched the pen tightly in his hand, remembering the time they left him. It was horrible. The voices were louder then ever, they talked nonsense. He couldn't sleep. Speaking of sleep, Val yawned. "I woold lik to sleep now. If u can go?"

@Cherrywitch

Victor shifted away from the window a little bit when the woman smiled. It creeped him out. The color drained from his face when he noticed the tags, and his cigarette nearly dropped from his mouth. He twitched a bit, prepared to throw the gear in drive and speed off, but his vehicle wasn't bullet-proof. He wouldn't make far against a New Army soldier.

"Uhh, I was picking up some scrap from a buddy down here. But I got lost. These streets are constantly changing. I'm sure you know that." Victor kept his voice steady and calm. Meanwhile his left hand stealthily slid down to his CZ-75 holstered in the door, gripping it, tightly.

@Cherrywitch

Chrissy

The woman seemed more worried as he said that, but quickly smiled. "Ah, yeah. You did run a lot. Well, if you need me I probably won't be too far from the building or I'll be in my lab. Have one of the members get me though. I don't want you to go out alone, just in case." Chrissy turned on her heel and slid out the door looking back over her shoulder with a sweet smile. "Sleep well." She closed the door behind her, and started towards the lab. Chrissy didn't feel like going out again just yet. Plus, she had something to work on, and would not procrastinate, even if she was exhausted herself. "Work first, sleep later." She aloud, yet quietly to herself with a weak little smile.

@BennyAxC

Sasha

The woman only grinned wider. "Reallllly...? You alright there, Victor, you seem shaken." Sasha snickered inwardly, having already scanned his face as soon as the window dropped. "I'm going to give you three seconds to tell me if you are saying the truth before I break open your entire truck and prove you're not. One...." Without hesitation, she began to teasingly and slowly count, holding up her index finger to mark the beginning of the first second. Sasha looked to be enjoying this, it was as if she could sense and was feeding off his fear. The whole time, the sickly grin never left her face. "Two...." The middle finger flew up to accompany the first, now two fingers held up.

Victor tossed his shades aside. She already knew his identity. "It's the truth, ma'am. Do you really think I'd lie to a brave soldier such as yourself?" Victor poured on the charm and flattery while his finger flicked off the safety.

Val smiled back at her as she walked out. He sighed to himself as his back hit against the wall and slid down. He stared at the bed before him, like it was a monster. He wasn't used to sleeping on beds, not sure if he would be comfortable with it. It was silent and he actually hated it. He was so used to hearing the voices that..... He scratched at his arm, blood seeping out. It disgusted him that he missed them. Three minuets passes as he continued to scratch.

Sasha

"Nice try. Three."

Instead of raising the third finger, with sudden speed her fist went flying into the side of the truck, making it shift slightly off the ground before landing back with a crash. Sasha pulled her fist back, the metal of the truck cutting her skin deep, which if it had cut a typical perimen it would almost shop their hand off. Sasha peered inside the large opening she had busted into the vehicle.

"Huh. No scraps. All empty. Weird, huh?" She shot him a menacing look, her permanent grin only making it more frightening. "Wanna explain?"

Victor removed the pistol from its holster but kept it hidden. He didn't feel the need to blow his cover yet, and this soldier was strong. It was not wise to go toe-to-toe. "Of course there's no scrap, you crazy bitch!" He shouted. His demeanor changed quickly. "I just told you I haven't picked it up yet!" He put the truck in gear and prepared to hit the gas.

Sasha

Sasha covered her mouth with her bloodied hand, giggling insanely. "I'm afraid I can't believe you. You're just way too suspicious." The soldier swung her rifle around, aiming it at him with a crazy glint in her eye. "You're just as bad as the minumalis scum! I doubt the board would mind if I took you out and got it over with!" She laughed through her teeth, completely enjoying this.

@OGTomahawk don't worry, she won't kill him.

Victor realized he wasn't dealing with just another guard. Any other soldier and he could've wormed his out of this tight spot. But this woman was certifiably insane. There was no more arguing. Only action. He stomped the gas as he pointed his handgun at her. He fired a few shots while the vehicle peeled out, kicking up dust and debris as the sudden acceleration caused the tires to spin with little grip on the loose surface.

Sasha

Two bullets lodged into her shoulder and her opposite arm, but her adrenaline was already rushing. Sasha felt no pain as she shot at the truck's tires and windows through the dust, eyes wide as she laughed in joy and popped another magazine into her weapon. "It's so much more fun when the scum tries to escape!" She raised her gun and started shooting again, the empty shells flying carelessly.

<em>Lazarus Jones.</em> Chills ran up his spine. Maybe they were from how much this guy- Tannis- knew about him that he was unaware of, maybe they were because his body didn't know how to react otherwise, even as the Superioralis walked away from him without another word past their own name. Lazarus crossed his arms over his stomach as he watched the person walk off, undecided on whether or not they were male or female. Not that they had to be either. All that the white-haired teen knew was that he would commit that name to memory. <em>Tannis</em>. He left a moment later, not wanting to be caught staring after for too long, as though he were ogling, and went for the hospital.

Tannis kept themself hidden, even in the midday light, headed toward the chatter of voices muted by walls and the off-rhythm stamping of unregimented guards.

As they got closer to the source of the noise, Tannis lost focus of their surroundings, mind set on getting inside and killing as many of the traitors as they could. They just so happened to miss a light patter of footsteps behind them.

The soldier felt a blossom of pain at their temple in the pattern of what felt like a brick or the butt of a gun. Staggering a few steps before falling to the ground in a heap, Tannis looked up to see a figure in their spinning vision, quickly going black.

Through little flashes of vision and muted sounds, Tannis could pick out at least two different voices, and could feel ropes tightly wound around their arms and torso, as well as the absence of a gun in their hands. They were moving- scratch that, being carried. But, to where? The last thing they could process was a blinding light from overhead before completely blacking out.
