Realistic or Modern Lake Caradine

Ryan noticed a room at the side of his eye as he stayed in the middle of the door way. Eh it was better than nothing. He put the plate to the side and made his way over to it. His hand flicked on the light switch as he walked in and sat on a chair. The room was embellished in a unique fashion with red wallpaper and..other stuff. Then his gaze shifted over to a guitar causing his eyes to light up. Who needs electronics? He shut the door and carried the instrument over to the couch. Ryan began to tune it as silent as possible.

Derek laughed a bit "girlfriend? What gi-" he stopped when he realized she was refurring to Jessica, he shook his head "noooo she's not my girlfriend. But we have been best friends since we were two." he smiled "now come on. I assure you Jessica won't be angry" he teased and set his hand on her back

Jessica shook her head at Reese, "what are you talking about?" She asked confused and leaned against the wall.

Sophie felt a little foolish for assuming that they were dating "sorry...it just...it looked like you were" she said quietly. She froze when she felt his hand on her back. "Uh...um okay" She said and walked out with Derek.

All set! Ryan smiled to himself as he silently began to play the guitar. He began to wonder what his family members were up to back at home. The teen laughed a little imagining his brother shooting foam Nerf bullets at his youngest sister as she sang some song that caused his twin to get annoyed. Ryan kept his silent rhythm on the guitar as the thoughts rolled through his mind.

Reese cocks her head in confusion. She was never wrong when it came to her hearing instincts. "Seriously?" She asked dumbfounded. If Jessica was hiding anything Reese would know but it looks like she hid it well. Sighing, she lets it go.

"Ok then.. So anything else you need?" The redhead was getting bored and needed something to do.

Jessica shook her head... "I'll uhm... talk to you later." She went back downstairs and heard the sound of a guitar and followed it. She got to the room and stood innthe doorway, Ryan was playing it. And he seemed to be lost in the music. A small skile touched her lips and she walked over, sitting down on the coffee table

Derek led Sophie outside and down to the lake, he took her hand and smiled "sooo if you're with me you can't be shy, and you can't be blushing, even if it makes you look cute" he teased. The girl was shy and he wanted to break that.

Ryan jumped up when Jessica made her entrance. "Oh woah..." He looked at her then laughed a little. "Didn't see you. Was I being too loud? Right, I'll make sure to go outside and play next time. Sorry about that" The teen placed the guitar back on the stand. "I'm Ryan by the way" He introduced himself remembering that he had just eaten dinner with two people he never caught the names of.

Sophie felt Derek take her hand and she glanced up at him, her eyes sort of wide with shock and confusion. "w-wait...what? are...are you-...we? what?" She rambled nervously. She stared at him trying to suppress her cheeks from reddening, but she couldn't help it and they turned a slight shade of pink.

"Im Jessica" she smiled, "why'd you quit? You're really good. It wasn't bothering me" she shrugged "you should keep playing" she crossed her legs and pointed at the guitar, "ill sing" she offered.

Derek smiled looking down at the girl "man... see? You can't do that Sophie" he smiled and rubbed her cheek. Sometimes Derek could be sweet hut most of the time he was cocky. He didn't want to make Sophie uncomfortable so he decided to be sweet.

Reese decided to go into town for some more films to put in the camera and to get her photos copied. She grabs her book bag with all the stuff she needs before leaving. "About two hours journey... I should be back by dawn," Reese concludes on her way.

It was clear outside, no rain clouds to disturb her journey. Everything was going fine. She made it into the photo shop and waits for the person to be done with her stuff.

"Uh what songs are you okay with singing Jessica?" Ryan asked glancing at the guitar then back at her. "Are you a pop song kind of person, R and B, alternative, classical...what kind?" He added to clarify his question.

"I-I'm just confused." Sophie said looking up at him. "and I'm not always shy you know." She stated a matter of factly. "Just around people I barely know.....and guys" she says quietly.

Jessica smiled, "I like slow songs like, songs by Sam Smith, or Great Big World, that song Say Something. Its my favourite and I think its the only song I'm good at singing." She smiled shyly.

Derek smiled "well you don't need to be shy around me." He smiled "I may be very straight forward, and I want you to be around me. Or at least more comfortable" he smiled

"Hm I think I can play that song by ear. Just give me a few seconds please" Ryan began to play some random chords. "Got it. Okay ready?" He asked holding the first chord down already.

Sophie smiled a bit. "What makes you think I want to be around you?" She asked teasing a little. She sat down on the hill overlooking the lake and looked up at him "I think you want to be around me more than you're letting off." She said with a smile looking back towards the lake.

Reese finally got her things and returns to the cabin. She excitedly ran up the stairs and looks through the images again. They were mostly pictures of her and her brother. Tears formed in her eyes but she quickly blinked them away. She missed him but there was no use crying over it now.

Before she knew it, Reese had fallen asleep on the floor.

Jessica smiled and started singing the song. Her voice sounded soft and sweet. She smiled as she sang the lyrics to Ryans guitar playing. She usually only sang in the shower, but when her dad used to play guitar she would sing with him. She missed her family already, but she would suck it up for the rest of the summer. She closed her eyes

Derek smiled "well you agreed to join me on this walk, theres a sign you want to be around me" he laughed a bit and sat down, leaning on his elbow, listening to her talk "well am I that easy to read?" He questioned

Sophie smiled "for now...until a better offer comes around" she says teasingly. She glanced over at Derek "you're pretty easy to read for the most part" She laid down in the grass staring up at the sky, "thanks for helping with the dishes earlier" she said casually as she stared up at the sky.

Ryan began to strum the guitar more loudly and quickly then suddenly stood up and changed the whole song, "So don't act like it's a bad thing to fall in love with me 'Cause you might look around and find your dreams come true, with me Spent all your time and your money just to find out that my love was free So don't act like it's a bad thing to fall in love with me!" He smiled, "Great singing Jessica. You sound like an angel". The teen grinned feeling his vision start to get a little more blurry. Ryan put the guitar down and rubbed his eyes.

Jessica smiled brightly, "you're great yourself" she laughed a bit, "surprised me a bit" she looked up at him and saw him rubbing his eyes, "you okay?" she raised an eyebrow, a bit concerned. But she wasnt about to admit that.

Derek looked at Sophie "hm. Maybe I should practice to be less of an open book" he smiled and layed down beside her "and no problem. I like to help pretty girls out" he chuckled

"Yeah just tired that's all" Ryan responded blinking a couple of times. His eyes felt weak! Oh man, he knew they weren't dry, but it felt as if they were....he didn't even know. "Can I go to sleep?" He paused realizing his strange question. "I mean..." The teen silenced himself before continuing any further.

"Being a closed book isn't all its cracked up to be." She stated and glanced over at him. She laughed a little trying to change the mood"Is that all you see in me? A pretty face?" she teased as she kept looking at the sky.

Jessica smiled slightly, "you don't have to ask... but thanks, I haven't sang with someone in years" she kissed his cheek and went up to her room.

Derek smiled a bit, "then im glad im predictable." He raised an eyebrow at what she asked "oh hell no, im not that shallow" he pretended to be offended and smiled "I see so much more, and if you want to keep being around me maybe ill get to learn more about you, your pretty face just adds to it" he winked at her

She laughs when he winks "Does that actually work? You just wink and girls turn to putty in your hands" she laughs a little more. "well we're both her the next couple of days so we're bound to be around each other. But just so you know there's nothing worth knowing about me" She says with a shrug and admires her surroundings.

Ryan paused in confusion. He stayed still for a good full minute. Wait, what happened? Yep, he was for sure dang sleepy. What did he do that made her do that? It wasn't bad but...what? Ryan went to his room. Maybe he would gain some understanding after a full night of sleep. He hasn't been able to register anything clearly lately. Did this go into connection with what his sisters were saying about him? Eh whatever. Ryan cleaned himself up and changed to his sleepwear. The teen got in the bed. Mhmm he would just have to find out tomorrow.
